I have to preface by saying parking was hard to find and even the location itself was hard to find. But aside from that, or maybe because of that, this place is a gem. Verve on its own is not necessarily the most special thing in LA, or in general, but this location and setup is absolutely golden. Such a cool place in arts district to see people working or chatting or creating. Huge windows, great music selection, just a good environment to focus and get stuff done. Good to know what you want/read reviews ahead— staff may not always be able to answer questions about drinks (I’m sure most are, but the person who took my order wasn’t). Regardless the drink was great. This is a good spot.

Aesthetic woody interior and lots of tables with good height for working but I wish the tables were bigger and more optimally shaped for studying, particularly in the upstairs area. There are no outlets in sight but the WiFi is pretty good and there’s no password. My latte was a little bit bitter and smoky, but most of all probably the SALTIEST latte I have ever had. It did not have a sweet aftertaste at all — not even the milk — which I was surprised by since they use Clover milk and I had just had a latte somewhere else with Clover where I felt the milk made it feel very sweet. The honey lavender draft was really smooth, though; I was a big fan of the texture of that.

Popped in for breakfast and accidentally entered a co-working space disguised as a café. Giant ceilings, natural light for days, and enough laptops to launch a startup. The avocado toast? Serving looks and flavor—basic, but in the best way.

This place was so great !! Such a spacious coffee house . Plenty of seating inside and upstairs and even outside. We ordered a flat white and a plate of chilaquiles . Let me tell you- it was better than most places for a coffee house . Excellent flavor crispy chips -and the sauce was excellent . The coffee was also great ! We would definitely come back! Want to try other coffees and breakfast items .

Without further ado let’s begin this Verve review. :D Verve Coffee Roasters (est 2007) is a modern coffee shop roaster founded by two passionate entrepreneurs, Ryan O'Donovan and Colby Barr. This location is at the Art District section of DTLA. Of all the cafe shops I have been to, this one stands out. I like their pulchritudinous decor and open layout – perfect for working or catching up with friends. Moreover, its atmosphere is charming and cozy with plenty of natural light. Their menu list is modest for coffee to pastries. After perusing their menu, I ordered a Cafe Au Lait and Avocado toast. Both items were good. Prices were a little pricey but match the quality. Staff were cordial & professional. Parking lot is very limited albeit plenty of side street parking. Overall, it’s a lovely coffee roaster shop. I recommend you visit.

I love verve!! They have some great food and great service. Their coffees and Matcha are average. But lately the music in there has been so obnoxiously loud that it has been hard to study or talk or think. Please turn the music down!

A spacious cafe and coffee roastery in the Arts district. I found street parking at 5pm. The inside has tall ceilings, a 2nd floor (closed when I came), and plenty of seating to do work or chat with friends. It was clean and the bathrooms around the corner were clean as well. I came in to hang out with my friend for a little until traffic died down to head home. They close at 6, so we decided to get the rooibos tea! The guy at the front was so helpful in telling us the types of tea they had and getting us to narrow down to that tea. I would have wanted to try their coffee but it was already later in the day and I did not need another caffeine fix that late.

Love the environment at Verve - the interior is beautiful, it's huge with lots of tables, and in general it's a great place to get work done. There are a good number of people that come in the early afternoon, but the white noise is actually perfect for me, and it's not crazy enough for it to get overcrowded or where I have to wait in line long to get my coffee or food. Coffee is decent, and I really like their breakfast burritos - especially love how they crisp up the hash brown. 4 stars instead of 5 because they don't have outlets, and also because they're not able to warm up your pastries for you, and if it's been sitting out for a while the pastry gets hard without the option to warm it up. Parking lot is small, but if you're lucky enough to snag a spot, it's nice to have a free lot to park at in DTLA and you can stay as long as you want without worrying.

My favorite coffee shop to sit and work. The food is surprisingly really good. My go-to is the Maple bacon side ($4) and Crispy Everything Hashbrows ($3)

Such a great coffee shop to come study, catch up with a friend, or go on a solo date with. I am not an avid coffee drinker, but their lattes are a fave.

Second time at Verve. Like many places in the arts district, Verve has an industrial look. They seem to stay very busy on a Saturday morning and there's lots of workspace downstairs with additional seating upstairs. Parking can tight and tough in the area but earlier is better. Coffee is consistent but I've only had matcha and chai lattes. Loved their chai! Fun space.

Verve has a couple of locations here in Los Angeles. From my understanding, the coffee is phenomenal with this company. My review is singular as I've only experienced this location and I didn't order any coffee. I needed a place to work for a bit while in downtown. I noticed how much seating they had on Yelp so if you need to sit down for an hour or so, great spot. My biggest complaint in LA is that not a ton of places have outlets for computers. This place is one of those places without them. The breakfast itself was extremely good with that said. The bacon is a bit dry but the rest of the meal was great. When in downtown again, I'll be sure to check out the other location. Cheers!

Me and my friend have been wanting to come here for quite some time but unfortunately it wasn't what I expected. I ordered the coconut sugar vanilla latte and my friend ordered the honey lavender latte. Both were a 5/10. The drinks itself didnt taste like what they were advertised as. My drink just tasted like a very mid vanilla latte, the expresso flavor was lacking too. And my friends honey lavender drink tasted like a regular latte too. I'm unsure if it's suppose to be that way or not but that was just our experience. The ambiance inside is great, but it's usually pretty packed with people studying or working. We barely found a seat outside. The guy who took my order also didn't have the greatest customer service, he was busy looking elsewhere while I started to order at first; and he didn't even acknowledge me until I said something. Either way I don't think I will be back unfortunately.

I ordered the pour-over, and the coffee was smooth, aromatic, and perfectly brewed. You can really taste the difference in the quality of their beans, and it's clear they take their craft seriously. The menu offers a variety of drinks and pastries, and I appreciate their commitment to using sustainably sourced ingredients. The only reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the price--it's on the higher side, and the wait can be a bit long during peak hours. However, the baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, and they always take the time to make each drink right. Overall, Verve Coffee is a great spot with excellent coffee and a cool vibe. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, just be prepared for a bit of a wait during busy times!

I checked out this coffee spot to try their cold brew and it was a solid spot overall. I got their overnight oats and coconut sugar vanilla draft latte with almond milk. The oats were delicious for a quick little breakfast and the latte was also very flavorful with the right amount of pick me up. Parking is limited and the spot has a really great interior with plenty of seats to choose from if you choose to do some office work etc. I'd definitely come back again to try their hot stuff.

I came here mainly to study/work. But the wifi wasn't working for my laptop. Idk why. It worked on phone and iPad tho. It has a lot of seating - first floor, second floor, outdoor. I got the BLAT sandwich. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't amazing. I just wanted a quick bite to eat. Idk if I would get it again. They do have their own lot but it's small. Bc they're pretty popular, we had to wait a little for someone to leave and then park. I would come again mainly just for the study space :)

I love this place to come in and work on occasion. It has two stories and is really beautiful inside and out! ( they have an outdoor patio) the WiFi is also fast and really good but if you work remote and need to take calls it's pretty loud. The service was fair, the baristas were mostly friendly although some at this location seemed to have a bit of an attitude when I was asking questions about the menu. Also, I paid $8 for a hot chocolate?! I think that's a new record. It was a good hot chocolate but tasted more like watered down milk with bitter cocoa powder than hot chocolate. I would overall go here only if you're looking for a decent work spot. I think for the prices it's way overpriced for not so great drinks.

I'm rare to give any 1 stars because I believe in traditional diplomatic critique, but verve got it all wrong man. I'm sorry the drinks we ordered were the summer specials... I got a pretty strong tongue when it comes to not so tasty things, but these drinks were out of LA's sewage pipes. 8$ + 9.50% sales tax basically 10 bucks a drink is ridiculous to be god awful. The interior is actually super nice, but how are you a coffee shop without ANY outlets anywhere?? We wanted to come and chill drink some good coffee and charge our laptops to work hard, but was so disgracefully met with such poor service. Also... trying to find this place is a maze and a half. The gps had us park so far away... Sorry verve, but please re-examine the way you make those drinks, and perhaps some outlets around the store would make it a nice 5 star coffee shop.

My friend Roxana is a regular and was happy to share her favorite morning/mid day nosh spot with me. The coffee and food were very good. $4.75 for an average to small cup of coffee. I had the BLAT sandwich on rye bread. The bacon was almost a caramelized level of deliciousness. I was impressed. $13.25 . My friend had an iced latte $6 and chilaquiles $14.75. Of course there's this f'd up tip when you order business which is my own personal pet peeve. I get it, to capture one merchant transaction, so do one contactless tap to cover it all... so tax and tip are an addition $10, whatevs no big deal. The thing that did bug me, which will be my take away from what would have been a lovely experience is no refill on coffee. So even if you spend close to $50, it's going to be an additional $3.50 for literally less than 8oz of coffee... I get businesses not wanting to have "table campers" that buy one beverage and set up shop like they are at a WeWork... but we had other things to do and flipped our table in under an hour. I wouldn't be cranky if I had received one complimentary refill of a meager portioned coffee, especially after having tipped at the counter before any service was received!

I like this design of verve with high ceilings and wooden decor. Strong espresso and quality coffee. This a location you can work from home or be productive as it has ample seating and is fairly spacious and not too loud.

Ambiance is outstanding. Went on a Sunday morning at 9am, got an almond croissant and latte. This is a perfect place to catch up with a friend, get some emails out of the way, or just enjoy a quiet moment alone. From the moment I stepped inside I felt a warmed welcome from the staff. I'll definitely be back for the coffee and the croissant!

Parking is limited and cramped. Praise God there were two spots that opened up as I came in. The place itself is spacious! 2 floors, outside patio. The coffee is smooth and solid. I tried a latte. I tried the breakfast Del sur. I like the way they season the eggs with green onions. And when asking about oils they use to cook- one said avocado oil, and another said butter. That's a good thing! If it's how they prep all food. A lot of creatives here with computers- a good looking place to work. Only downfall no plugs or place to charge

Although I'm not the biggest fan of the Verve cold brew (it's a bit acidic for my tastes), this location is so beautifully designed that it is still worth taking some time to check out. Located in the Arts District, this Verve cafe has all the brick and industrial look of the area, but still retains a warm an inviting atmosphere with it's rich natural tones. There is plenty of seating, an upstairs counter space where you can overlook everyone below, and also a sunny outdoor patio. This is a great place to do some remote work, the wifi is fast, and you can grab a quick bite to eat in the area too since there are plenty of restaurants nearby. The only con for me is that this area has terrible parking, everything is either paid parking lot or metered, and it's always packed.

What an aesthetically pleasing coffee shop!! There's a small parking lot, if not street parking is available. There is so many outdoor and indoor seating (two floors of indoor seating). The staff was so friendly here. I had the Honey Lavender Draft Latte and croissant for breakfast. The latte is iced and I love the honey lavender mix. The croissant was good and flaky. I'd love to come back here.

We go to work when we need a good thinking Spot. It's CROWDED on the weekends so we prefer to go on the weekdays if we want to stay. Super helpful and knowledgeable staff. It's cozy yet spacious inside. Worth a trip if you are near. Or need a spot to sip and ponder. They have all your standard coffee shop fare and some good options for a light lunch. Their pastries aren't their strong suit, so stick to the well made and presented drinks.

Yeaaaah, the coffee at this location is not good. Which sucks because it's so vibey and has an amazing variety of indoor and outdoor seating. Parking sucks but the service was great. I came here on two different occasions and ordered an espresso tonic. They tasted different both times. First time it was good. Second time it was extremely bitter. My mom ordered a mocha and it was sour (not from the milk being expired since she got oat milk) and too milky.

My husband had an appointment downtown and I decided to spend most of the day working from this café. I'm no stranger to Verve's coffee beans but this was my first time at one of their cafe's. The Arts District location is very spacious with two levels and an outdoor patio area. Both the food and coffee options were excellent! Parking is a bit tight though so just be prepared.

The food way decent. I had the coconut chia pudding. It was mild in taste, but I think that's just the way it is. It was different, but I enjoyed it. For my drink, I had the iced jade ooling tea. I liked it, it was refreshing. The service was good, very kind and laid back employees. It had a very chill ambiance for a busy café. I had to sit outside in order to feel comfortable because it was very full inside. I got there around 10:45 a.m. and by the time I left around 1:30 p.m., because I had been working, it was full inside-out. I'm glad business is good for them. The team kept flow of things moving by constantly cleaning and making sure customers received their orders. Everything ran smoothly. I like this spot and I will be returning.

We had a few hours to kill last weekend and decided to do some work at Verve. The space had a beautiful design with ample seatinng. Ordered the matcha lemonade and blueberry toast - both of which were excellent. Wifi worked. Be warned though, no outlets anywhere which was kind of annoying. My wife forgot to charge her laptop and we had already committed by ordering only to discover there was no way to charge. We would return, but only if we didn't need any charging. I wonder if all the Verve's are like this. They seemed to go out of their way to cover and seal all of their outlets. They provide wifi so, that means they know people will sit around on their laptops like a normal coffee shop, but then don't make outlets available? Almost made me want to give them 3 stars.

I came to this coffee shop on a Sunday with a friend and came in as soon as it opened which was at 7am. We parked outside just read the signs. Sundays usually are a really good time to park. Everything I had was from the add ons I had the everything hash brown and some eggs. The coffee was really good. I got a vanilla latte with almond milk. The total price around $14. I would come back for the coffee

Great place to study, do work, meet with friends, etc. big open windows and street parking accessible. However the drinks do not stand out to me at all and both times I've gone I experienced very unfriendly staff. I love the acai bowls and priced at $10 I feel like it's worth. My drink order took legit 40 minutes (it was only a matcha latte) and one of the nicer employees said my order somehow got lost. When the unfriendly staff member served my plate, the toast arrived burnt as seen in the picture. Overall, the place is okay but could definitely be improved.

Despite how busy it was and the line behind me, the barista let me try a sample of the nitro cold brew and the cold foam to help me make a decision on what to order and didn't rush me into choosing or telling me which drink he liked best. I felt I was treated exceptionally well at Verve when I went to go visit. Every barista had a smile, even when I brought my glass up to take my coffee to go. The cold brew and chia pudding were excellent. It's a big, bright, open space and it felt good to sit down. It was very clean and pleasant! I'd be back tomorrow if I lived in the area!!

Sooo I didn't like my first experience when I first checked this place out. The workers were rude and dismissive... so I was convinced by my coworker to give it another chance and I gotta say that I had a way better experience and was happy with my drink. The one thing I love is the amount of space and seating that is available. Parking can be a pain but that's LA for ya!

To be honest, I thought this place was gonna be good by the looks and the high reviews this place had but I'm guessing I went on an off day?????? First of all the interior of this place is beautiful, it looks so well put together and honestly a great study/catch up spot!! Except there's no outlets. As for the drinks... my bf and I left with a bad taste in our mouth. Usually we try to always have something redeeming to say about the drinks.. but for these... we were highly disappointed. Not to mention these drinks were recommended. The matcha tasted so horrible honestly i dont think there was any matcha in it lol. All i got was lemonade??? Or whatever it was. I hate when drinks have the word matcha in it but the matcha is no where to be found in the drink lol. The coffee we got was also terrible. My bf likes dark coffee, which is pretty strong and bitter. So for this drink to taste bad to him is saying something. The coffee was bitter but also sour?? I don't understand honestly lol. the cream on top didn't help either. probably just for decoration or something lol. I usually like to take sips just to have something to sip, out of boredom you know, but after one taste I completely stopped sipping at these lol. when we left the drinks were as full as when we just got them. We should've got a refund or something but we were already far away. This just solidified my belief that LA coffee shops are overhyped and expensive. But whatever maybe we went on an off day.

Ambiance: wow so spacious and beautifully designed Service: chill workers! Parking: construction going on (unsurprising, haha) so the lot seemed closed but it wasnt but was full anyway. Pro tip: go towards the bridge and there are some spots there! Drinks: - had the mocha latte to get a taste for their coffee and milk. Had regular milk and it was pretty good overall! Note: no outlets AT ALL so for those trying to grind for a while make sure to come with a full charge or an extra battery pack haha

The coffee was really good, with a strong draft flavor that stood out. I could taste the honey, which added a nice sweetness. It would've been even better with a bit more lavender for that extra floral touch. Overall, it was a great cup of coffee, well-balanced and flavorful.

checked out this coffee shop when trying to find a place in the area and this place did not disappoint! we came on a sunday morning and it was lively but not packed. I love that there's plenty of seating indoors and outdoors to plenty of room for everyone. they have a shared parking lot with the restaurant next door but there's also plenty of seat parking available. I ordered their matcha with oat milk sweetened with simple syrup and it was delicious! I'm recently on a matcha journey and this place is easily moving up the ranks. I also ordered their Kouign-amann and it was too delicious. they have plenty of pastries and breakfast items available. 10/10 would recommend

Not a good place to study or get work done via a laptop!!! This review is specifically for that. Ambiance: warm and beautiful Service: the employees look lowkey miserable (but this is a norm for a lot of coffeeshops and this is coming from a former barista lol) Miso caramel latte: medium sweet, smooth but can't taste the roast of the espresso (probably my fault for ordering as i like to taste the espresso more and enjoy a light sweetness) Music: bearable but borderline too loud Outlets: none Price: $8 for a 12oz latte with oat milk Overall, I think it's pricy for a $8 latte. At least outlets would justify the prices. Would consider coming here more to socialize/go on a coffee date but not to study or get work done.

Definitely one of the most aesthetic Verve Coffees I've been too. Super clean aesthetic and open space great for doing work or just chilling It's a bit chilly since they blast AC and there doesn't seem to be any outlets for charging, but the staff are super friendly and the interior design makes the place feel really homey

I am a big coffee girly and love a good cappuccino (which is hard to find). I was apprehensive about Verve because it has a reputation for being a bit snooty, but coming here and seeing the vibes, their organization and their service, they have earned the right to snoot :) Having worked in coffee and food service for 5+ years, I was impressed with their workflow, consistent quality and the overall layout of the building which caters to those who want workspace, to be in or outside, to people watch, or to hang with friends. What a vibe, will be back for sure

Verve Coffee Roasters is an Arts District hot spot for sure! It was on and poppin' with every seat taken yesterday and another coffee shop nearby was desolate. Just sayin'. It's so darn pretty here! High ceilings with that rustic wood look coffee shops have been vibing with lately over two floors. Plus the outdoor garden area is beyond cute. I'm obsessed with the aesthetics. Their coffee was really good, with special accolades to the nitro cold brew...on tap! I said what I said and it was amazing. Their breakfast sandwich was lucious, filled with toppling ingredients including an egg legit cooked to perfection. The perfect fluff while staying in concrete form perfect for a sandwich. I also tried their biscuit with butter and jam which was perfection. Loved every aspect of Verve and I am sitting here wondering how it took me so long to indulge in their goodness. I will surely be back!

Great cafe in the arts district. I had the breakfast del sur and let me tell you those hashbrowns are going to be a major problem for me. Perfectly crispy and so tasty. I also had the miso caramel latte with a triple shot of espresso, so so good. I saw it's a winter special but I'm hoping they keep it all year long!

We came here right about noon... Just though that I had to be at Arts District Soon... Place is getting liney! We came from a check in recommendation...! Thanks Natalie ...!! Delicious Iced Coconut Latte And Hot Matcha Latte Got the Baguette Prosciutto and Manchego Not bad... the baguette wasn't as Frenchy as I'm used to but not bad... Top quality Prosciutto... Looks like a Deer Chihuahua... Paradolia lol if you look hard enough Wifey got the Biscuit w Jam $40 w Apple Pay Now let's just sit back and watch the people outside brave the heat... They're dropping like flies...

Stopped by a couple of times and we liked it. We tried several types of cold and hot coffee and they all were great. Also, we had a couple of breakfast sandwiches and burritos and those were good as well. Staff were mostly nice and the service is good. The atmosphere and design are wonderful and the only problem is the parking spot. There is no parking space in the street and their parking lot is so small for the store size.

The location is right in the heart of the Arts District by some major restaurants. There are a handful of free parking spots (almost impossible in the area) and street parking, so it's alright for a weekday visit. The place itself is very roomy inside and has two floors but unfortunately there's not a lot of seating considering how big the main room is. It's cool that they have the roasters in full view behind glass. Service was good and you pick up at the counter. They have some tables and some standing areas with a counter. Tried a Gibraltar for the first time!

Beautiful place! Inside and outside are both spacious. There's a parking lot. Cold brew and lattes were good. Breakfast sandwich delicious. Great place to catch up with friends or do some work!

If you don't like working from home at home, this is where you'll find your people. Upsides: Open every day from 7am-6pm. You can usually find street parking nearby. Two levels and an outdoor patio with tons of seating. No one is going to side eye you for staying too long since 70% are there working. Open, stable WiFi if you need it; strong cell reception if you use your phone as a hotspot. There's enough background noise if you need to make a call it won't bother anyone. There's a sign that the patio is dog friendly, but I often see them inside too (dogs anywhere are a plus in my book). You can definitely at least take your dog inside to order. Staff have always been friendly. Downsides: No outlets; I bring a portable battery. Coffee is mid, but expensive. The background noise/music is sometimes too loud if you don't have good headphones. Seats are designed for aesthetic, not for comfort. Somewhat limited menu options. The line to order is usually a bit slow and can get backed up.

Beautiful coffee shop with lots of seating! I was recommended the house latte and I added the pistachio syrup, delicious! The chocolate chip cookie has a lot of chocolate!

The coffee here is delicious. Ive tried a few drinks but usually get a matcha latte with oat milk, non-sweetened and a hazelnut coffee cake muffin. I would've given 5 starts but decided to give 4 because the service is not consistent. Somedays it's great and other it's not good. Relaxed atmosphere- good for working or meeting up with friends.

Perfect working space - only downside is the miniscule parking lot. WiFi is good, matcha is great and food is better than average for a coffee shop. I got the BLT.

Verve Coffee is one of my go-to spots for coffee in Arts District because of the parking (or street parking). Atmosphere: The place is clean, big, and open--perfect for getting some work done or just chilling. The place itself is relatively quiet, but you'll definitely find groups of people hanging out here on weekends. Service: The staff here are incredibly friendly. They make you feel welcome and are always ready with a smile and a great recommendation! Drinks: They brew their own coffee and tea, which is a game changer. I decided to try the hojicha iced tea for $5, and let me tell you--it was AMAZING. Perfectly refreshing with a unique, toasty flavor. I was inspired to make my own at home, but for their prices it's not bad! Definitely check out this place if you're visiting LA :)
