Friendly, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable of their live menu. Their half windows brought a light breeze that brought comfort as we ate our meals. The views are of symmetrical designed buildings and brought calmness as you look out the window. Great for family, friends, or dates. I definitely recommend.

We came here after a show because it was conveniently located near the venue and we liked the vibe of the place. We got the fried calamari and focaccia bread as appetizers, beet soup, and risotto with filet mignon au jus. Everything was good except the beet soup. To be fair, I had never had beet soup before and did not expect it to be sweet. Luckily the focaccia and calamari filled me up and satisfied me. My husband loved his risotto with filet mignon. The service was also good. The food is a little pricey, but I would still consider going back to try other menu items because of its conevient location near The Broad, MOCA, and the Walt Disney Concert Hall.

If you are going to Walt Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler Pavillion, Zipper Concert Hall, The Museum of Contemporary Art, and The Borad Museum, you should stop by Vespaio. They served delicious Italian cuisine and modern envience. I ordered Beet Salad, Pea Soup, Sea bass, and Garganelli.

Stopped in for dinner before we caught “Into the Woods” next door, and man— we couldn’t have picked a better spot. Service is terrific, the space is airy and cozy, and the food is just excellent. Creative specials, fresh ingredients, all prepared to perfection. The cocktails were great too! Prices were right about what you’d expect for the area, but you sure do get what you pay for. I’d love to come back the next time I’m in the area.

I just called the restaurant to resolve an issue I was upset about because I don't like leaving one-star reviews before trying to reach out. The person on the other end of the line HUNG UP on me while I was still talking, and only said coldly "your welcome" when I said my concerns and thanked her for looking into it. No assuring that it wouldn't happen again and NO apology. she needs to be retrained. Imagine treating a customer like that who is trying to go out if their way to try to spare you a bad review. I was professional and polite and explained that when I ate at their restaurant, I tried the Carpaccio and told the server that I didn't want it if it was raw meat. He assured me it was NOT raw meat. Of course when it came I assumed it was cured meat because of what he told me. I ate it and was ill after and now I am worried I have a bug and my Dr. has ordered tests. DO NOT eat the Carpaccio, as she confirmed IT IS RAW MEAT NOT CURED and will likely make you ill, as it did to me. The server lied to me and I can't imagine why, I would of ordered something else. I have noticed the Carpaccio is not on the online menu and is only on the in person menu which is weird and make me think they are trying to hide the fact they serve raw meat. The pizza is good here and I liked the atmosphere, but unfortunately the serving staff are very rude and lie. Good luck working in customer service to the lady I spoke to on the phone.

The food was OK. Somewhat pricey for very average pasta dishes. Not sure if my expectations were high or Italian pasta can sometimes be overrated for what it is. I've been to some very good Italian restaurants where they also have in house made pastas, and the execution was great, the ingredients creative. Here it was just OK. Not blowing anyone's mind though tastewise. Had a lobster pasta, the Potato Topini, which was a bit average. Also a guanciale (similar to pancetta, but cheek) wrapped scallop over polenta squares--not sure that's the best way to serve polenta or scallops. Kind of an odd texture combo. The service was very good. The servers very attentive. The setting was also sophisticated as its in the middle of downtown LA among the sleek skyscrapers, by a grassy courtyard with olive trees, and across from the busy Broad Museum. There's a lot of great food dining options around DTLA. Problem is choosing the right option for the time.

Very packed here for a Thursday night! Must be doing something right! Tried their eggplant appetizer and the salmon. The salmon was cooked to perfection. Perfectly crisp on the outside and very moist and tender on the inside. Old-fashioned cocktail was very expensive but delicious! Finished off with tiramusu and headed to the Ahmanson theatre. Great stuff!

Great service with experienced waiters and a fantastic selection of wine. Food was good but not sure that it was worth the price as the portion sizes were pretty small. Pasta is made in-house. Texture was great.

I had the tagliatelle verde. The sauce consisted of chunks of meat and a small amount of mushrooms. It would have been better with bolognese sauce. Also, it was very pricey. The service and ambiance were great.

Shoutout to Elizabeth (at the front) who greeted us warmly and helped us get comfortable on a hot summer day before our visit to the Broad. One of the reasons we prefer Orange County over LA is that LA has a pretentious feel to it. You get judged for what you wear and the bag you carry. In Orange County, people are more comfortable and discreet with their wealth. It seemed like every waiter snubbed us but Elizabeth made us feel seen and personally took care of our order when we were ignored. I hope that the owner of this establishment sees this post and gives her a raise. She's so deserving based on her management skills and positive interaction with guests.

Excellent fast service before going to Music Center. This time I tried the kale ravioli... it was excellent! Light,delicious,buttery and with fresh sage!!!! All their pasta is HOMEMADE! They also give 15% off Music Center customers if you show your ticket! In past had Eggplant parmigiana, salads and pizza. Never dissappointed!!!! Make a reservation and go!

Came in yesterday with my friend to use a $50 gift card at the bar. Had a mule each. Some good and some uncool here. First the good: the mules were tasty, the restroom clean, and the waiter nice. So three stars for that. (We didn't order food as we went to a ramen place down the street after our drinks.) Now the uncool: this place did not want to honor my gift card. First I was told "that program has been discontinued" and then "the card is expired." Yes, my card was a few years old. But in California, gifts cards cannot expire unless the issuer goes out of business. The logo on my card matched that on the door and menus and the waiter saw the card on the table in plain sight when we ordered and received our drinks. Yet they waited for me to pay to pull this. Both the waiter and I kept it very light and civil and I certainly wasn't going to hassle him. Poor guy. But I did point out that gift cards cannot expire. He went to check with his manager and returned quite awhile later with, "We'll honor it but we'll need to keep the card." What? Our two drinks probably came out to $36 plus tax and whatever other soon-to-be-outlawed (July 1!) service fees so there wasn't going to be much left on the card anyway. But, also in California, gift cards can be cashed out -- for cash. They were just being shady. Maybe go for a good drink, but do NOT buy gift cards for your friends from here lest they fall into the same experience I had.

Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 4/5** Staff were all friendly, but it was tough to flag people down when we wanted to add to our order, change out plates, etc. **Decor & cleanliness, 5/5** Gorgeous interior and spacious covered outdoor seating area. **Price & portion, 4.5/5** A smidge high, but portion sizes are good for sharing. **Taste of the food, 4/5** My favorites of the evening were the cocktail (DTLA sunset was delicious), fried calamari, and surprisingly, the penne. The penne has a really simple sauce but is cooked perfectly, isn't acidic from the tomatoes at all, and is herby, fresh, and light. Most of the things we ordered were good, but it seems like nothing came out hot. Everything was room temp by the time I got to it, which took away from the experience just a bit. The fresh greens in the salads were also a bit wilty. **Other notes** Street parking is a bit tough -- be prepared to park a few blocks down and walk over if you don't want to do valet.

The servers always welcomes you with a smile and I can't believe their paitience explaining each of the specials for the table. Love the sports bar setting of the bar area, while the outdoor patio is cozy and the indoor space is luxurious. My go to restaurant for formal business meetings! Their steak salad is a MUST but its not officially on the menu they sometimes have it as specials so crossing my fingers for you to be lucky!! Please put it on your menu

Nice large space. Went for dinner before going to the La philharmonic. It's walking distance from there and convenient. Basil martini was delicious. We ordered the eggplant Parmesan, artichoke pizza, and the beet salad. The eggplant parm was our fav. The service was a little slow. There was a private event happening so maybe some resources were tied up with that.

Had an early lunch here on Mother's Day. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The host was courteous. All the food we ordered was tasty. The dining area was clean. Valet or parking at the Broad are the options. Would definitely come back for the calamari!

I had such high expectations for this restaurant so I'm a bit sad that I can only give them 3 stars. We went with a group of friends after visiting the Broad Museum. We got a nice table by the window and our drink orders were taken. We perused the menu and listened to the specials. When I asked for details about a couple of the specials, the server obviously faked his way through the answers. Strike One!! (In customer service, especially in a restaurant, you never fake an answer. If you don't know the answer, you go find out). But when I heard they had Panzanella Salad, I was ecstatic as it's one of my favorites. I also ordered the Maccheroni with Guanciale, Fava Beans, Tomato Concasse and Pecorino. The Panzanella Salad arrived and it's not Panzanella at all. It consisted of wedges of tomato, some ripe and some unripe, some cucumber and red onion, tossed in a bland vinaigrette and topped with some buratta and a basil leaf. Where's the bread you ask? EXACTLY! Panzanella is all about the chunks of day-old bread that soak up the vinaigrette and tomato juices while marrying perfectly with the veggies. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. Strike Two! Thankfully the pasta dish was quite good. It was essentially Rigatoni, which is a type of Maccheroni I suppose, but again it feels like this place has a habit of selecting names for dishes that don't quite represent what they truly are. The sauce was nice and the chunks of guanciale provided a nice pop of meatiness. The fava beans didn't really add much to the dish other than color. But overall, the dish was acceptable. So, with two strikes against them, I had to ding them 2 stars. While I'm not against giving them another shot, I'm not going to be hurrying back, especially when Otium is mere steps away. I know I'll get a top notch meal there with no deceptive dishes.

My friend's Wagyu burger had a weird taste, almost a little sour. Another friend had to return her roast beef on ciabatta bc it was too tough and was like jerky. She wasn't even asked how she wanted it. Second time was better, but we now know not to order it again. My organic chicken breast on ciabatta bread was decent. Homemade chips were good! I'd suggest the restaurant improve their Niçoise salad (too tart, flat) and the other salads on the current menu be improved and less expensive. Add specials to the menu for more variety instead of the same menu and improve the mediocre food. This has been our go to place before a performance at the Music Center and even though we appreciate the Music Center discount, we're ready to go elsewhere. Service and hostess have always been attentive and helpful. Nice to see the windows much lower on this hot, sunny day which created a more pleasant ambiance in the patio. We took a pic of the lowered window and sent it to a friend who didn't want to come bc the windows were too high last time. She was afraid of getting Covid. Keep the windows at this 2/3 down level which emulates a patio.

Came here for dinner a week ago. From the moment you walk in you're greeted by a friendly hostess. The restaurant was filled, yet we only waited about 2 minutes to be sat. We were seated at a nice booth and to the side of us was the kitchen and to the other the bar. Our server was super sweet and informative. She knew every special of the night and even made recommendations for us. We started with the pepperoni pizza and the scallops wrapped in Guianciate with polenta. The pizza was good, thin but with a crunchy crust just the way I like it! The scallops were cooked to perfection. You get two on a bed of polenta. I wish they added more. We tried their pasta with seafood and an arrabiata sauce which was today's special. Freshly made pasta, great flavor and the texture of the scallops, shrimp, calamari were perfect. Sauce was good but for me I would of love more sauce. I like my food saucy. That's just me. We ordered the rib-eye bone in, my goodness it was buttery and melt in your mouth, the side was kale mixture, a bit tart and needed just a hint of salt. Then we moved on to the desserts. The Coppa Española, I mean melt in your mouth, like a cloud of deliciousness and the apple cobbler was incredible. It made my husband reminisce his HR. Days. The cocktails were great. At the end of the night, we left full and satisfied. I can say that this was one of the best places I've been to in a while. If you are ever in the area, going to the Disney concert hall or visiting the broad I highly recommend to stopping by. You won't regret it.

We ate here prior to attending a matinee performance at the Dorothy Chandler. The Espresso martinis were delicious, one of our to go to drinks. We ordered the Calamari , very light and seasoned perfectly, the Focaccia bread, and the Kale and Ricotta Ravioli. Lastly we ordered the Carrot Cake with Pistachio Cream. Everything was delicious, service was excellent. We certainly will come back here before attending a performance at any of the nearby theaters or museums.

This is a great place to check put if you are visiting The Broad museum or other places close by. We had the grilled chicken salad and the sausage pizza for lunch. The portions are big and the food was delicious!! They have a big menu with lots to choose from and the service was good. We sat in a covered patio-type area which I highly recommend especially when they open the shades and let in the fresh air. Definitely worth checking out! Tip: If you go during evenings or weekends, you may want to make a reservation

Definitely a good spot to check out if you're looking for a date night! I ordered the Beef Lasagna and Margarita Pizza. The food was good but I felt the pizza was missing flavor. The service was wonderful and our waiter was friendly and informed of all the daily specials. They have a good drink menu.

Beautiful restaurant in a great location near The Broad and Walt Disney Concert Hall. I was greeted promptly and taken to my table. I ordered the mesera (black cherry) spritz, the rosemary foccia bread, minestrone soup, and the shrimp and asparagus risotto. The soup and bread were delicious, and the spritz was strong but very flavorful. The risotto was a bit of a letdown. The rice was a bit undercooked and not creamy like risotto usually is. Both the shrimp and asparagus were overcooked. With the asparagus completely falling apart into mush. I did let someone know and they took the bread off the bill. I additionally ordered some dessert, bombilini, which was delicious.

No wait on a Friday night which was amazing! Food was pretty good and came out extremely fast; however, it was overpriced. Service was great and they had a great wine selection. Good for a quick and high quality meal!

This establishment exceeded my expectations and the service was on point. We were greeted with a warm smile and welcome by the hostess and guided to our seats. Our server, Alex, kind and welcome and warming was attentive to us. We ordered two appetizers along with warm focaccia bread The calamari was crunchy and delicious; It a must to try. Anne the prosciutto with bruschetta was nice and delicious. My girl got her pasta with lobster. Creamy and smoothy. For I, Ny steak was cooked to my taste medium with homemade potatoes. The potatoes were magnificent. Toasted and roasted on the outside & nice and soft in the inside. We didn't get picture of our tiramisu because as soon as it landed on our table, we finished it. It was nice and soft. I would definitely recommend this place for a date and/or a small gathering. The atmosphere and ambience is a relaxing place and not too loud. The manager was also attentive to us and other guest to make sure their needs were met. Finally our server Alex was very kind, friendly and full of energy, and always could be seen with a smile. If you want good service, ask him to be your server. He will definitely make sure your needs are met

This restaurant is right next to the broad museum and 5 mins walking distance from the walt disney concert hall. We were seated at the patio which is Very spacious and airy. Friendly and attentive service. I find the two specials we ordered a tad bit sour. May be an extra squeeze of lemon. The white fish was unexpectedly tough and overcooked. On the other hand, The fresh pasta tastes great!! Chewy fresh pasta with flavorful sauce and tender meat. seafood stew is also tasty.

On a business trip to LA, we decided to have an Italian night at this cozy place. We all loved the "semi-al fresco" seating area and beautiful decor. They had run out of focaccia bread and brought us freshly baked pizza bread instead which was warm and yummy. The menu is not super extensive but does offer a few entrees, good pizza and pasta selection, including GF options (after all, it's LA). Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable as well. One special and unexpected treat was the dessert menu. They have a secret weapon there: they are attacking to a bakery gelatteria and so...presto! Check out the menu, it's impressive!

Some excellent food here. And some regular food too. I got a garbanzo soup that was the day's special. That was delicious and $14. The seafood pasta is some kind of tortellini, with crab meat In a tomato-based sauce. The crab meat was great! I also got a mushroom pizza. Not bad. But not brilliant. Nothing close to the New York pizza. Bruschetta comes with three toasts with tomatoes, and some thing like six or seven slices of prosciutto. That was tasty, but a weird proportion. Ambience is beautiful, and service is kind. PS. Their potato chips are great!

We had lunch on Sunday May 26th at Vespaio on Grand Ave., in Los Angeles. I ordered a fish dish, and my wife ordered a pizza with pine nuts and pears. To say that the amount of pine nuts and pears were skimpy was an understatement. When we called attention to the paucity of toppings to the restaurant manager, a blonde woman, we were shocked at the reply's tone. It almost seemed as though she had to school us on the correct proportions. All she had to do was offer a bit more pine nuts and pears, and we would have been satisfied. But no, for whatever reason, we had to be taken down a peg and given a lecture. The pizza crust and the fish dish were very good though! Our young, Italian server was also excellent!!!! She deserves a big raise. Really knows how to provide good customer service.

Vespaio in Downtown LA is a fantastic spot to visit, especially before attending a show at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. I came here for happy hour, and the menu offered a satisfying selection of dishes and drinks. The service at Vespaio was decent, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. While it may not have been extraordinary, it was certainly satisfactory. The ambience at Vespaio is upscale chic, providing a sophisticated and inviting atmosphere for guests. It's the perfect setting for a pre-concert meal, adding to the overall excitement of the evening.

I had high hopes for Vespaio having walked by it several times. The Service, Decor and Ambiance are great! The food - Not so great. There were 3 in our party and this is what we ordered: Person 1: Tuna Appetizer - Bland. It could have used a lot more of the Balsamic Vinegar Glaze they decorated it with to give it flavor. Salmon - I ordered it grilled plain with no sauce. It was so overcooked I had to soak it in the Lemon Wedges provided. Salmon should be served Medium Rare - Medium. Person 2: Ordered the Charcuterie Board - The entire amount of food on the board could have fit into a $1.79 Snack Pack and for $25.00 it was a total rip-off. He said the Mushroom Pizza he ordered was average at best. Person 3: Ordered Pasta - Said it was "O.K." It's a shame because the server tried very hard and knew the menu and the atmosphere was really nice. I can't recommend Vespaio because the food didn't match the room and service.

For the 2nd time, we wanted to stop in and try this place. Our mistake was that we were wearing jeans and a t shirt. 10 minutes no water, no waiter, no nothing. Anyone else that was dressed up got immediate attention.

Came for lunch after the MOCA. Wish I hadn't, been sick all day from the rotten spinach salad. Pulled out all the bad leaves once I noticed- told the manager, her response was rude and unapologetic. Sure it was straight out of the bag and onto the plate without a wash or of being checked. POOR. Too many other places to spend your hard earned money. DISSAPOINTING end to a nice day.

I recently hosted an event here with an association I am a member of so this review is for both the event planning aspect and also the staff/food service. I was very pleased with the entire process and how it went down. Sebastian and Elena were very polite and helpful during the process of planning the event when I emailed to inquire about pricing and options. I found the pricing to be very reasonable for what you get. They facilitated drink tickets for a hosted bar for our event so that made providing the incentives easy. Once that was taken care of, all we had to worry about was getting people to show up! We had a great turnout (the room capacity was listed at about 75 but we had about 50 I believe in attendance) and the drinks and food distribution were organized well and kept going smoothly so there was never too long of a line at any given time. Shout out to Hugo for managing everything, Laura for keeping the drinks flowing, Emmanuel and Gilbert for their kind service. The food is indeed delicious and of good quality, well worth the price paid. The appetizers we selected were the tray passed BUFALA, MOZZARELLA CHERRY TOMATOES, BASIL SKEWER, Mini Wagyu burger and Organic grilled chicken skewer. Everyone seemed pretty happy with the food and it was all gone by the end of the night. Overall, I'd say this is a great place to host an event and I would absolutely recommend it for dinner, if the main courses are as good as the appetizers were that bodes well for the rest of the menu. Nice, but not overwhelming. We had a large party dinner. The restaurant was half-empty and yet the seating was less than comfortable. Fortunately, the service was very attentive. The food generally was good, but they failed out octopus test. We tend to take octopus wherever it is available. But this one was very rubbery and did not come anywhere close to Bavel's ...: Score = 0.1 bavel. Other food items were excellent: pizza bread, pizzas, ravioli, eggplant burrata, salmon, whereas the risotto and the penne were a significant touch too al dente.

The food was not bad. I think they specialize more in pasta, as the pasta was definitely the best dish we ordered. The focaccia was pretty good and felt rustic and homemade. However, the pizza did not feel the same, which is weird. It felt like premade dough that they just slapped their toppings on. Granted the pizza was good cause the toppings were good, I don't think it's very worth getting due to the dough. I also think they don't have a pizza oven, as the coloration on the crust was pretty lacking, something that normally a pizza oven does not allow. The mushroom soup special was just alright and the risotto was also mediocre with the filet being pretty dry. Definitely was precooked beef that they topped onto the risotto. The porchetta personally wasn't to my liking. Some would probably enjoy it but I personally didn't. I'm more used to porchetta where they have the skin extremely rendered and crispy, which adds a whole new depth and layer to the dish, but the porchetta here was just a bit boring. The lean portion was dry and the fatty bits were just too fatty and one dimensional. The presentation was also not as expected, as I'm used to a perfectly round porchetta where you can see the rolls and bits of stuffing inside the layers. The desserts were great though. The servers were nice but pretty sparse and you wouldn't really see them until they'd bring you food or take away plates, so it'd be pretty hard to get ahold of them. Overall not bad; do recommend the pasta and their appetizers look pretty solid (can't review them cause didn't get any)

HORRIBLE hostess service and distressed manager. Never go here before the theater! My party of 4 had 6:00 reservations and at 630 we're still waiting to be seated. The hostess area was a congested mess with people expressing concern not having their times for dinner being met. Then when a booth opened up the manager sat a party of 3 before me and their reservation was for 615..15 mins after mine!! When I asked why they got seats before me, the hostess stared at me like a deer in headlights and the manager started to cry (not kidding) when I pressed her to seat me immediately. Then she told me she wouldn't seat me at all. The place was a disorganized and catastrophic mess. No one knew what they were doing. We wound up going the next block down to a lovely steak restaurant that sat us in the bar area. It was perfect!! Avoid this place at all costs when trying to make a show.

Took my team here for end of year lunch. The restaurant is very nicely situated in a popular section of the Financial District downtown right next to the Broad Museum. The interior of the restaurant looks quite nice and they have a semi patio type seating too. Their menu gives a nice selection of Ilian dishes from pizza to pasta but they also have burgers. Our group of 13 tried something from each section and general feedback was that it was pretty good. The only thing that I felt could have made this 5 stars is the service. At first it was fine but the minute it got busy, they kind of forgot about us. Missing one of our items and we had to chase for refills and such. I would still definitely come back to give it another shot.

What a disappointment. Service was non-existent other than a menu drop and taking the order. Food came via runner and was dropped as he ran away. Had to flag a busser for some cheese for my pasta..penne, tomatoes, basil..one piece of basil...meh. Manager dropped check. That's about it.. Not worth the trouble, calories or hype.

Very average restaurant. There is no authentic Italian feel to it. Servers are nice, but it was very apparent more often than not that they did not know what they were talking about when it came to certain dishes. This place felt like a higher end version of Olive Garden. There are plenty of better Italian spots in L.A.

I came here for a lunch with my coworkers, and it was a delight! We tried so many foods here, from salads, appetizers, pizzas, pastas, burger, cakes, and ice cream. I wish there were more options in the lunch menu, however, my team left on a happy note. The Wagyu Burger I tried today was honestly okay, I didn't add cheese nor bacon to my burger. Honestly, it was missing a seasoning component. It came with fries and 3 condiments, however, the Wagyu burger I personally thought would've been better with other condiments than ketchup, mustard, and mayo... The choices for me were limited, and adding those condiments to my burger did not help with that missing flavor. I also got medium rare for my wagyu, and honestly that was a miss too because the rarity of the meat caused the burger to get soaked by the juices so fast it was unappealing as the burger got soggy. I would recommend people to get the steak done medium so that doesn't happen! The service here could be better, my table was not catered to as much unless our food was ready... the only time our server asked how we were doing was after the desserts. This review would be 4 stars if our server did cater more to how our experience was going with our appetizers and entrees.

Service: 5 stars (attentive, friendly, quick, knowledgeable) Food: 3.5 stars (seared beef carpaccio was delightful, seasonal octopus salad was good but needed a stronger dressing, kale and ricotta ravioli in butter sage sauce was ok) Ambiance: 5 stars (very clean, lots of windows, not too loud, spacious, nice bathrooms, open kitchen concept)

Wonderful experience, the waiter had so many great suggestions. We went with all of them and it was such a memorable dinner. The booth was nice and the bathroom was very clean; always a plus. Haha The music was 80's vibe and it made for a nice dinner before the Disney Concert Hall, basically next door. Highly recommend.

Stopped here because of the ambiance we could see from the street. That is the I my thing they have going for them. I will say I went against the 3.5 star review and should have listened to my gut that often reviews with less than 4 stars don't seem to 'wow'. The mezcal and old fashion drink were good but the pizza was worse than a frozen/microwaveable pizza. I prefer my local pizza chain like dominos or Papa John's. The dough was under cooked and it just looked unappealing. We also got the pappardelle with boar ragu and that was just ok. Pasta and sauce were good, the meat was just ok; didn't taste the freshest. For a place that is pricey, with an $18 dinner valet, located near museums, concert halls and plays/musicals, they sure underwhelm. Not recommended and not coming back.

Super disappointing restaurant. I don't know how they make enough for overhead cost, on a Saturday night walking in at 8 pm there were barely 3 families in the restaurant. This seemed like a red flag to us but we decided to give it a try. Service: terrible 0/5. One of our friends has a garlic allergy and they told us the burrata salad didn't have any garlic, when it came out there were clearly chunks of garlic on the tomato portion of the salad. When we informed our waiter he said "oh I hope it's not an allergy or something" and when she said yes he said "oh sorry." He also was very angry and honestly super disrespectful. The same friend had called earlier and talked to a wonderful lady who mentioned the margherita pizza did not have garlic. Our server then said it did have garlic, then the manager came out and said it didn't. He was quite rude with several offensive side comments, didn't bring us enough wine glasses nor offered to pour our wine. Food: terrible. I would not recommend. Nothing is fresh. The pizza is terribly made :( Ambiance: main reason they get a 1 is because the place looks nice. Idk how they afford rent with their lack of business. Also for how empty they are, they are super not accommodating. At the end he even said Italians restaurants aren't good for us to go to if somebody has a Garlic allergy, we've lived in LA 10+ years and no other Italian restaurant is so un accommodating.

Dinner menu - first time here and we had excellent service! The waiter was great, very attentive and overall great ambiance. Food was good, I ordered the lasagna. I think they are very traditional with ingredients every restaurant has their own recipe and meats used. The lasagna had a sausage type, it was good but wasn't my favorite. I've had too many lasagnas I suppose that when you order you think it's going to taste about the same. I thinks that's my problem not the restaurant. I loved the pizza bread with rosemary, cappuccino and tiramisu, margaritas with Patron. My husband had the salmon and he liked it as well. Overall experience, ambiance service and food are good! I'd come back again and try something new.

Great fresh food. And atmosphere. I had a salad with fish. It's been months. So I don't remember exactly . But everything felt fresh and elevating. The servers were kind and attentive.

After reading other reviews, I think my experience may be more related to the fast cafe part of Vespaio and it may not reflect the quality or experience of the sit-down part of the restaurant. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick lunch and coffee after visiting the Broad museum right across the way. I got the piadina and a cold brew with almond milk. He got the salami sandwich and an iced vanilla latte with a double shot of espresso. My piadina was wonderful - they warmed it up and it was a delicious and classic Italian combination of arugula, prosciutto and cheese. The dough was fresh and soft also. Both drinks were great, especially the latte. Now onto the reason I'm giving two stars: - The salami sandwich was extremely disappointing. It was mostly bread with a super thin layer of salami and eggplant and nothing else - The service was odd - our first cashier rung up the piadina then went to put it in the oven but did not return. Instead someone else came and finished the order. The second cashier was very friendly though, to his credit. - I asked which milks had no sugar and the second cashier informed me that they had ordered the wrong milks so none of them were sugar free unfortunately. - The overall process was slow and drawn out. I did overhear an employee say it was a rough day (no idea what he meant, specifically, though) so maybe it was just an off-day for them.

So disappointed! The chicken ravioli was awful. Salty sauce (barely any sauce but it was so salty that it was better that way) and the ravioli was stuffed with a gritty paste. I was starving and only ate half of it. $38 wasted. If that's an indication of how they prepare food, I don't think I'll be back. Margherita pizza was not great either - undercooked dough in the middle and one piece of basil for the whole pizza. Restaurant is so popular - just don't get it! Service was good so give it two stars.

We ordered margherita pizza and what they brought to the table was a less than mediocre cheese pizza with one piece of basil on top. It was such an absurd experience that we just had to laugh. The food at other tables looked of equal school-lunch quality. The service was okay. They were super slammed with not enough staff because everyone was going to a concert an hour later. The ambiance is pleasant. Everything about this restaurant suggests that the food will be good, but it's all a facade. I strongly recommend not going here, despite all of the good reviews. The cheese pizza, which was being falsely advertised as margherita pizza, wasn't even GOOD cheese pizza.

We went to Vespaio for a quick lunch after spending some time at The Broad. We went to Cafe and Bar(not the restaurant), and grabbed some drinks, sandwich, and pizza. We sat outside and finished eating, but not the drinks. Each of us had a sip or two, and left our drinks on the table to go inside to grab dessert and to the restroom. We were gone only for 2-3 minutes and when we came back outside someone had cleared our table already....! I know it was partially our fault for leaving our drinks unattended but if a server/cleaner saw that all the drinks were barely consumed, he or she could have maybe waited a bit more before cleaning up....Bummed out for spending +12 dollars on drinks, and none of us got to finish them.

Went to the Festival of Choir at Disney Concert Hall. We were a bit hungry afterwards, so we looked for a place to eat. A block down we found Vespaio and we walked in. We ordered some drinks and burgers along with eggplant. Service was great and the food was superb. The eggplant was hot And needed nothing more. Perfect blend of seasonings in every bite. My Waygu burger melted in my mouth. The drinks washed down with the DTLA Sunset Margarita. Was great with a jalapeño varnish. This added just the right balance of heat. The atmosphere was warm and charming with indoor setting. Their wine list is extensive and they have a great bar. This is a French restaurant so you can find all your pastries and breads there just walk in and veer to the right. Service was impeccable, we never had to wait for service or repeat requests for anything. There is a nice pocket park in front with a lovely collection of Olive trees. If you are ever in DTLA near the concert hall drop in and say hello. You will appreciate it. I plan on coming back just for the drinks.

I ordered a mushroom and truffle pasta and a salad and was completely underwhelmed. The "salad" was on a plate with a vine tomato cut into 4 pieces-very appetizing I would say and the pasta was overcooked, slightly mushy. At the price point, I was disappointed. Not to mention the service could have been better.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and probably won't come back. spinach salad with pear and bleu cheese (4/5) - the salad was light and refreshing, I love the fruit with sprinkled of good quality blue cheese and crispy bacon. A good appetizer, since the service was extremely slow on Saturday evening. seasonal fish and shellfish stew (5/5) - this was so delicious and comforting, the seafood comes in generous portion and the broth was so tasty tagliatelle verdi (4/5) - al dente pasta, with creamy sauce. love this dish! Chocolate ganache (3/5) - typical chocolate cake with ganache in the middle, nothing special and it's overpriced... $12 for average cake... Service (2/5) - they forgot one of our order, they are short staffed..... the servers were really sweet but we can see that they're not professionals. They still need training and the managerment might want to considering hirng more people. Since the food was good, you don't want bad service to ruin the chef's hardwork. Otherwise, it's a good restaurant for date night or dinner. I'm dissapointed by the service, the food was decent. But for the pricepoint there are plenty of restaurants in LA that serves good Italian food with way better service.Atmosphere was nice, but nothing special. Sorry but unless they can provide better service, I can't give better rating...
