The 20 Best Bars In Bangkok - Bangkok - The Infatuation

"Named after James Bond’s most iconic drink order, Vesper is one of Bangkok’s OG spots when it comes to serious cocktails. Leather chairs, plenty of seats by the bar, and quieter corners to watch the cars go by—it’s the place most people in Bangkok will picture when they think of a cocktail bar. This bar is quite small in size, but they make it work in their favor. Snag a bar seat and you’re likely to get talking and make a new friend. Their menu has classic twists, including their affogato with Irish whiskey and coconut shaved ice, as well as a Negroni with matcha and white chocolate. The star of the menu here, however, is, and always will be, their Vesper—ice-cold from the freezer and crisp with a strong hit of botanicals, as any Vesper should be." - vichayuth chantan

I’ve heard a lot about this bar, especially as it’s been awarded many times, so naturally, I had high expectations. While there’s nothing wrong with the drinks, there’s also nothing particularly spectacular or deeply layered in terms of flavor — something you might expect from other award-winning bars. That said, the vibe is definitely there. It’s a great place to catch up with friends, though the ambiance might feel a bit too loud if you’re looking for something more intimate or romantic. Service really depends on who you get. One gentleman was incredibly attentive and had a great service mindset. On the other hand, we had to wave to get the attention of one of the female staff, and she gave us a bit of attitude. Perhaps the bar was too crowded for her to handle

An Unpleasant and Disappointing Experience** My recent visit was a significant letdown and does not live up to the hype. For a high-end bar, the service we received was shockingly poor and rigid. The issues began when intense light from outside was shining directly into my friend's eyes. We politely asked a staff member if it was possible to adjust the blind slightly for comfort. She refused, stating it would "ruin the bar's image," and proceeded to readjust it to its original position. The same staff member then came to our table and shushed us with a finger-to-lips gesture, telling us to be quiet. This was incredibly condescending, especially as other tables were just as loud. We would like to remind the management that this is a bar selling alcohol, not a library. To add insult to injury, the same employee later told us we were not allowed to dance. My friend was simply dancing in place within our own designated area, not disturbing any other guests. On a previous visit, another bartender had explicitly said dancing was allowed, with the only rule being no "breakdancing" or moves that could cause a hazard. This staff member's consistently authoritarian and unwelcoming behavior completely ruined our evening. When a group spends a significant amount of money (over 10,000 baht for five people) and is treated like misbehaving schoolchildren, it leaves a lasting negative impression. We will not be returning.

What an awesome and eye-opening experience! First timer here and man I was so impressed by everything 😆 The bartenders were so friendly and welcoming, so passionate in showcasing their enthusiasm in what they do. Drinks were spectacular! Firstly they're all so pretty and photo worthy! Made me feel elegant just holding it. Their cocktails are so innovative and tasted so unique, showcasing and highlighting their skills and ingredients in the concoctions. The ambience was classy and cozy, made me feel relaxed the moment I stepped in. Highly recommend the bar seating, you won't regret it! Can't wait to go back to try other cocktails and maybe order some sides as well!

Very friendly, welcoming staff! Pleasant interior. Cool cocktails. Amazing people. Prices are usually around 250-400baht per drink, but they add 17% to the overall price, so it’s closer to 450-500 for each one. But it is definitely worth it! I really enjoyed visiting this bar!

Gorgeous but low key speakeasy in an unexpected location in Bangkok. Gorgeous and well dressed waitstaff and a huge cocktail menu and some decent wines by the glass. Snack menu also good but be warned, these drinks are pricy. Starting at AUD $25 per cocktails and up. A lot for a low key locale in Bangkok: still worth going.

My favorite bar in Bangkok! Cocktails are fantastic! Unique and very well balanced. Definitely worth being in Asia top 50 bars. But on top of that, the atmosphere is what makes this place so memorable. Elegant, classy design, but veeeery relaxed vibe! Everyone is super friendly and smiley, the music is nice (not a typical boring sounding “lounge music” you could find in most famous bars), and overall the atmosphere felt very light hearted every time I went there

Vesper is one of those bars that truly lives up to its reputation — no wonder it’s regularly listed among Asia’s 50 Best Bars. The space is small and intimate, with bar seating and a few cozy tables. We came on a weekend and it was full, but still breathable and not overwhelming. The atmosphere strikes that ideal balance between classy and relaxed — great for a date night or a chill evening with a close circle. Their cocktails are the star of the show — inventive, well-balanced, and clearly crafted with care. Prices are around ฿400 per cocktail, which feels fair given the quality and the overall experience. No smoking is allowed inside, but they do have a small standing table outdoors for smokers, which was a thoughtful touch. One of the most memorable parts of the night was chatting with the head bartender (possibly also the owner or head mixologist). He was incredibly warm and welcoming, and when he found out we weren’t local, he happily recommended other Bangkok bars to explore. It’s those little gestures that make a place feel special. ✨ Would absolutely return next trip — Vesper is a staple for cocktail lovers in Bangkok.
