"With a commitment to locally sourced and organic ingredients, Vesta offers a simple approach to wood-fired pizzas. The family-style menu boasts an assortment of salads, vegetable dishes, and both red and white pies. The arugula salad features a special preserve from Frog Hollow Farms in an apricot vinaigrette dressing, and the mushroom toast features buttery, creamy sauteed mushrooms on grilled bread. The sausage and honey pizza is a medley of sweet and savory with a hint of spice, while the green olive pizza has a distinct burst of flavors from the Castelvetrano green olives, garlic, chili flakes, mozzarella, and pecorino." - Cathy Park

We tried the Basil Burrata and the Sausage & Honey pizzas—both were outstanding. The flavors were fresh and vibrant, with the sausage pizza offering a perfect balance of salty, sweet, and just the right kick of heat from the jalapeños. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff were incredibly friendly.

The small plates are very good! We had the burrata and the zuchinni cake and both were delicious but then we order the pineapple and prosciutto pizza and was not at all what we were expecting, they add long slices of prosciutto in one slice of pizza and are very difficult to cut it with the teeth so it makes the experience uncomfortable also I found it more salty than normal, also comes with green peppers and even though are small round pieces are very spicy.

Vesta in Redwood City truly lives up to its reputation! Knowing its weekend popularity, we wisely booked a reservation in advance. However, the staff went above and beyond, accommodating our request for an earlier table when one unexpectedly opened up – a testament to their exceptional service. Vesta is known for its pizzas, and rightly so. I can confidently say they are some of the best I've had in the Bay area. But the surprises didn't stop there. The charred cauliflower appetizer was amazing. The smokiness was perfectly balanced with the sweetness of honey, and the textural contrast of soft cauliflower with crunchy almonds and breadcrumbs was simply divine. The subtle heat from the serrano chilies added another layer of complexity. For my main course, I opted for the carbonara pizza, and it was an absolute masterpiece. The thin crust was perfectly crisp, the cheeses were gooey and decadent, and the combination of savory and sweet flavors was impeccably balanced. Every ingredient, from the farm egg to the pepperoni, worked in perfect harmony. The pizzas are generously sized, but honestly, you won't want to share a single bite. The heated back patio provided a cozy and inviting atmosphere, and the service was consistently fast and attentive. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. If you're looking for exceptional pizza and delicious appetizers in a vibrant setting, Vesta is a must-visit. Just remember to book your reservation, especially for weekends! You won't be disappointed.

A first time customer and a great experience. A straight forward menu with enough choices but not overwhelming. Our food was served promptly and the service was excellent. A number of specials were available but we opted for salad and pizza, which were delicious. The seating outside made for an enjoyable lunch in the sun. Looking forward to returning 🥗🍕☕

Mushroom toast was good, a little salty for my taste but flavorful. Pizza was innovative in terms of the ingredients but not as good as I expected. Would I come back? Probably highly likely not. But if you are in the neighborhood and craving pizza, its worth trying.

This restaurant was the best thing to come out of my stint as a juror at the San Mateo County Courthouse. The meatballs in tomato sauce, grilled carrots, and grilled bread are in my top five meals of all time. 🤤

Google
Ordered the Basil Burrata and Pistachio Pesto/Broccolini special- delicious authentic Italian pizza. The atmosphere of the restaurant on Valentines was amazing. There’s 3 seating spaces- a heated outdoor patio, indoor area, and outdoor seating on Broadway. Both indoor or the heated patio is optimal. The brown sugar lemonade is amazing- free refills and the sparkling version is amazing. It’s a pulpy lemonade but well admired by the table.

Google
Excellent pizza and appetizers in Redwood City! Some of the best pizza I have had in California! They utilize many interesting and eclectic ingredients, including cherries and peaches. Perhaps the best fried cauliflower we have had in Californias as well! They have both outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor seating is dog friendly. Nearby bubble tea and ice cream for dessert afterwards. A wonderful spot

Yelp
This place never disappoints. This was the first time we actually dined it. Nice spacious place with lots of seating. We sat in the back patio, it was nice & warm with all heaters & being covered. Our waiter was great! He was friendly and very helpful with the menu & recommendations. The manager was also super nice & easy to talk to. Food was great as always. We ordered 2 of the specials this time. - Poached pear & Burrata: Not what I expected but really good. The pear had balsamic vinaigrette which made it slightly sweet but also sharp. First bite I wasn't sure but pairing it with the cheese was just perfect and I enjoyed every bite. - pesto, Gouda, & ham pizza: Again not what I expected but the flavors just worked. The first bite is a bit sweet and as you keep chewing it gets better & better. The ham was fantastic. This place has figured out good mix of flavors and having fun with their toppings. Definitely a place to go outside your comfort zone & go-to pizza and try something new & yummy.

Yelp
Was feeling like getting pizza and remembered that I bookmarked this place a while ago. I don't get the chance to go to Redwood City often so I wanted to try this place out. We initially waited for a table but decided to get the pizzas togo after a bit. We got the sausage & honey ($26.5) and the margherita ($21). The pizzas are thin crust, which I prefer since they still have a good chew without being all crust. The margherita sauce tasted really good, not too acidic while still being flavorful. The mozzarella and basil, which they didn't skimp on, paired nicely with the sauce. I did notice that the cheese seemed to slide off a few of the slices. The sausage & honey had a good amount of meat on it and was pretty filling. The serrano pepper added on top is raw and adds a nice heat without lingering. I do wish there was more honey, as it seemed like not all the slices had it. Overall, the pizzas were a good meal. They tasted good but are pricier. The pizzas were ready in less than 10 minutes and we were able to eat shortly after. They offer different red sauce and white sauce pizzas so there are lots of options to choose from!

Yelp
This place has a nice ambience with dimmer down lights in the evening. We were able to get a table when we came on a Saturday for an early dinner around 5:30 without a reservation but it filled up really fast. Reservation is definitely recommended. I really liked the mushroom toast. It was just enough flavor and though it was buttery/saucy, the bread underneath didn't get soggy. The pizza flavor is good but the only complaint is that the crust soaked through. So the pizza itself was a little hard to hold since the crust on the bottom broke through. If the crust held better, would rate it a 5.

Yelp
First time eating at Vespa, this place is located the heart of Redwood City and placed with many other great food places as well. This place had great appetizers, flavors were great but the best thing that I got here was the margarita pizza. The tomato sauce was robust and the crust was perfectly thing, crunchy with a hint of chew just right in the middle. Overall this place was great and had great service. Other than mazra in the area this place would be the go to.

Yelp
Mexican Chocolate Bread Pudding - 3/5 (one time ) Basil burrata pizza- 5/5 (delicious!)

Yelp
Wonderful service and wood fired pizza. Orders: Our favorite was the sausage and honey pizza! A great balance of spicy jalapeño with the sweetness of the honey. 8/10 We did 1/2 vegetarian to accommodate our friend! We liked the soppressata pizza , the pesto was rich and unique. 7.5/10 The Mexican dessert was incredible!! The cake texture paired with the soaking cream on the bottom of the plate was our favorite. Don't skip this one! 9/10 The mushroom bread app was also creamy and rich too. Skip: The grilled carrots. The dulce de leche ice cream. We really enjoyed the service, the waitress was accommodating and attentive. We did request a table indoors but we're seated in the back patio outdoors after a 30 min wait. Other than that, our waitress gave great recommendations.

Yelp
Vesta is always crowded, but it definitely lives up to the hype. It has some patio seating in the front and some in the back. The main dining room is not very big, which also contributes to the fact that there is always a line. The service was top-notch. I liked how the restaurant feels nice but in a low-key, not stuffy way. The food was delicious and authentic. I'd say the pizza is on par with what you'd actually get in Italy. There, I said it. There were four of us, so we ordered two pizzas and two salads. We tried the beet salad and the butter lettuce salad. Both were generously portioned, well-flavored, and fresh. The pizzas were probably a bit too large for one person (unless you're starving), but might be a bit small for two. So I'd recommend ordering small plates or salads to start. We tried the special of the night, which was a white pizza with pistachio pesto, smoked ham, ricotta salata, goat gouda, and a drizzle of Calabrian chili honey. It was so so good. We also tried the Soppressata, a red pizza with tomato sauce, smoked mozzarella, spinach, and soppressata. It was also delicious. The crust was slightly puffy, with a crisp exterior and chewy interior. The toppings were fresh and well-balanced. Highly recommend!

Yelp
A very simple Italian eatery--might be good for pizza only. The pizza is thin and tastes good, but nothing exceptional. The Pan Charred Zucchini Cakes, however, were severely overfried and inedible. That said, the accompanying lemon sauce was quite good.

Yelp
Came here for a girls night out and it was such a lovely choice! We made reservations and they seated us at a cozy booth. Our waitress introduced the specials and had great recommendations which included the specials. What we ordered: -Grilled Pears and Burrata: beautiful blend of sweet fruit and creamy cheese, highlight of the meal -Brussel Sprouts: well seasoned -Sausage & Honey Pizza: sweet and salty, very flavorful -Pesto & Soppressata Pizza: pistachio pesto went so well with the saltiness of the salami -Margherita Pizza w Arugula added: great classic choice with some veggies All the pizzas were very thin and had a nice airy crust to it. They were unique toppings that complemented each other well. I will definitely be returning!

Yelp
This is pretty much one of my go-to pizza places. The sausage & honey is my all time fav. I used to pretty much order this every time. But now I'll try out the specials the waiter/waitress provide just so I'm not eating the same thing all the time. Although sometimes they have so many items on their list, I get lost. Haha. In terms of salads, we also really enjoy the kale salad that they have! So, do try that out if you want something light. The place will get pretty crowded during peak hours though. So, you'll very likely have to wait for seats. But the good thing is you can take a stroll up and down the street while you wait to be called. This might be pretty random but the bathroom location is @ a weird spot. It is like in this very tiny corridor where I feel like I'm blocking the servers while waiting in line for it. And if someone is having super big business then this line can get long. Then it can really feel awkward in blocking some traffic flow. But the staff is kind and understanding about why you are stuck there so no worries. Usually the food will come pretty fast but during the thanksgiving weekend it looked like they were swamped with take out orders. So, it took some time for the pizza to arrive. But I guess that is fine. We can just chat while we wait. :) With one pizza and salad that will set you back around $25 a person. So it is on the pricier end of the spectrum. But I do think it's worth it! You can definitely count on me coming back from time to time if my budget allows. Like I said, the staff is very kind and courteous. This is another reason I don't mind coming here. :)

Yelp
What an incredible meal at Vesta! Arrived at 6pm on a Saturday night, told it was a 20 min wait; we walked around downtown and came back and our table was pretty much ready (about 20mins after putting our names down on the waitlist). Restaurant was bustling, inside and outside seating. We sat outside, plenty of heaters to keep us toasty, definitely wasn't cold sitting outside. We had the beet salad which was delicious. We also had the Brussel sprouts which was so so good. It's so good I want to try make it at home. We also tried the margarita pizza with arugula, which was just so light and tasty. Great quality ingredients and flavors all around. Can't wait to come back and try their most popular pizza, the sausage and honey!!

Yelp
Absolutely love this place! Spent New Year's Eve and loved the food and service. Such a lovely ambience with the outdoor patio and heat lamps to stay warm. They have great vegetarian options and were happy to add different sauces to certain pizzas. Would recommend making a reservation ahead of time if coming with a large party. Also was recommended to get the margarita pizza by the table next to us who said they come all the time just for that item.

Yelp
Vesta is a cozy and inviting spot in Redwood City, perfect for a casual yet elevated dining experience. My husband and I recently dined here and left feeling satisfied, though a few dishes were on the heavier side. We started with the Wild Arugula Salad, which was fresh and flavorful. The generous amount of hazelnuts added a wonderful crunch and richness that really elevated the dish--highly recommend! For pizzas, my husband absolutely loved the Sausage & Honey pizza, which had a perfect balance of savory and sweet flavors. I tried the Pesto & Soppressata white pie, which was tasty but a bit on the oily side--delicious for a slice or two but felt a little heavy for me after that. The crust/dough overall was very good, not salty like other places. As someone who loved crust, this really hit the spot for me. We also tried the roasted cauliflower appetizer, which had great flavor but, like the pizza, was slightly too oily for my taste. Next time, I'd probably opt for the beet dish instead for a lighter option. We're already planning to come back to try their classic Margherita or Marinara pizzas, which looked incredible coming out of the oven! Overall, the warm ambiance and creative menu make this a spot we'll be revisiting.

Yelp
Came by for lunch the other day and it was a world class experience. Parking is available on the street or in the nearby city-owned parking garage. The road in front of Vesta is now closed to traffic which makes outdoor dining an option along with indoor or rear patio. Vesta now has air conditioning too for the warmest days! Vesta has also joined OpenTable with a small subset of tables available for reservation. The vibe of the restaurant is laid back and chill. Daily specials are presented by the staff. Favorites include the heirloom tomatoes with burrata or the zucchini cakes. Both are very fresh, in line with the farm-to-table mentality. The mushroom toast here is also world class. Mushrooms are super fragrant and poured over a couple slices of bread. My favorite pizza here has to be the sausage and honey. Flavor is always on point. Crust is excellent and the peppers do give the pizza a slight kick. ~$35/head after tax and gratuity for lunch with leftovers!

Yelp
Vesta is a popular thin crust brick oven pizza spot with lots of classic options along with tasty renditions. I came here twice and one night I was very impressed while the most recent was much to be desired due to pizza being very watery. With consistency being an issue, I will definitely try this place out again if in the area and craving pizza with how solid my first experience was. Service - Super friendly and food came out quickly after ordering. Staff maintains the positive vibes. Ambiance - clean restaurant with comfortable/classy decor. Outside seating looks nice. Burrata Plate with Proscuitto - 5/5 - Fresh high quality Burrata with soft and toasted bread drizzled with EVOO. Proscuitto portion was generous. Perfect bite when putting all 3 together, Mushroom Toast - 3.5/5 - Cool concept. Umami taste galor with a light saltiness. Reminiscent of cream of mushroom. Lots of mushrooms which made it more chewy than expected. Did taste a little bland near the end of the bite. The soft toasted bread perfectly held all the mushrooms and was an enjoyable break from the mushroom. Felt like it needed melted cheese or some garlic. Still a solid app! Pork Meatballs w/ Tomato Sauce - 2/5 - Most flavor came from the marina-esque tomato sauce. Grated parmigiano was aesthetically pleasing but didn't do much. The meatball itself was colder than room temp and didn't provide much flavor. Did feel like good quality ingredients but I'd skip this next time. Pepperoni w/ Burrata - 2/5 - Visually a solid pizza but once I grabbed a slice the toppings slid off quick with half falling on the table. There was depth to this pizza with a classic saltiness, subtle creaminess, finished with a mild sweet & hot finish from the Calabrian hot honey. Maybe it was undercooked but each slice was hard to pick up/bite due to how wet they were. Disappointed since you usually can't go wrong with a pepperoni pizza. Sausage & Honey - 4/5 - The salty herbyness of the sausage went really well with the honey and peppers. This pizza was not slippery with ingredients staying on the slice. Generous amount of toppings. Carbonara - 4/5 - Literally pasta (bacon) carbonara on a pizza. Bacon taste was dominant, with square chunks scattered throughout. This also highlighted the good quality of their dough with no sauce. Garlic and Parmesan flavors were shined during the bites w/o bacon.

Yelp
It was kinda busy during the lunch rush but outside of that... 5 stars. I love the fact that it has a open kitchen. Big thanks to Nick for making sure the first experience & service here was great! Carbonara pizza was absolutely delicious, grabbed a Sausage & Honey Pizza to-go for the kiddo's This will be the new Pizza Friday spot for sure, and only one that screams welcome to Redwood City

Yelp
Solid service and pretty good food. We had a beet salad, soup and a few pizzas. The pizzas were definitely good. I would skip the soup. It was tasty, but it was like three spoonfuls in the bowl. The beet salad was fresh but just OK, lacked balance. Another in our party got a salad that looked much better. We would go back again.

Yelp
This seemed like a popular spot downtown so I wanted to check it out! I came here for Wednesday dinner and got seated pretty quickly. I didn't realize how big the interior was. There is outside patio seating as well as a more private back room area. Mushroom toast (5/5): This was amazing. I didn't think grilled bread topped with mushrooms in a cream sauce could be so good. It seems like this is probably one of their most popular dishes and I understand why. It was not heavy at all. It comes with 4 pieces so it is great for sharing. Sausage & Honey Pizza (4/5): Another popular dish here. It was good! I don't think I've ever had honey on top of pizza and it definitely worked well. The sausage had an interesting texture. I don't think I was much of a fan of it. The crust and sauce were good together. I will be back! I would love to try one of their white pizzas. Of course I will get the mushroom toast again.

Karne N.

Yelp
Well, 11 years later I was back - not out of choice, thanks to a family member who loves it. Had the mushroom pizza, the Margherita and the rosemary, potato and bacon. Also a charred cauliflower. The tea and Diet Coke were each $5, which seemed high. Lunch was $131 - was it worth it? No. The potato and bacon pizza was tastier than the other two, but overall it was overpriced. And that one bathroom with people lined up in the hall (one cursing that it was occupied) is just delightful.

Linda L.

Yelp
My coworkers who live along the peninsula recommended this spot to me. They were raving about the mushroom toast and it did noooot disappoint. Creamy mushrooms atop toast, sounds simple but it was delicious. I also really enjoyed the sausage + honey pizza, there's just a perfect kick to it with the little jalapeños on top. We also tried the pork shoulder on polenta cakes which was different but I enjoyed that as well. Service was great, I would recommend to those in the peninsula area for a bite after work or a little date night.

Yelp
Yelp reviews took us to this most flavorful evening of food and drinks I've had in the past year or more. What's missing in my photos is the savory charcuterie board and the special pizza of the evening I can hardly wait to tell you about. It was a special evening for the family our 27th wedding anniversary. We chose to dine outside on the cozy patio offering many heat lamps that kept us warm the whole meal. Our hostess was warm and friendly and set the tone of the whole restaurant because everyone obviously had pride in the wonderful treats we were about to experience. Kilmer was our knowledgeable server and knew the menu well which guided us to the most fabulous choices. The mushroom toast was recommended and has been reviewed many times and met all expectations. The charcuterie board was full of the freshest Italian meats and savory green olives. It tasted as if the meats were sliced right before serving. A very nice compliment to our bottle of Odonata wine also a great choice. Kilmer recommended the pizza special, pistachio pesto, Gouda, prosciutto with a white sauce that I hope finds its way to the regular menu. It deserves the spot. The combination was so nutty with salty meat and a drizzle of honey. A high ten! The crust was so light and soft with a crispy bottom. Kilmer was attentive and took pride in what the kitchen was serving. The Affogoto was such a treat for desert and this was the first time I've seen it on a US menu. Have I been blind? It was rich vanilla gelato with a pour of hot espresso. Delightful! Dont think twice about this amazing spot as it will not disappoint. We are already excited to go back and try the famous sausage honey pizza. Thank you Vesta for making such a lovely evening for us!

Derek L.

Yelp
This is a solid pizza spot with creative flavors. Their signature pie is the Sausage and Honey which has lots of Italian sausage and sliced Serrano peppers. The pizza is definitely spicy but not overpowering and the honey on the crust is necessary to balance out the heat. I've also had their burrata before which was pretty solid although I feel like it's hard to mess up that dish. The reason I don't give it the full 5 stars is that the pizza is a bit soft for my liking. I like my pizzas to be able to hold up stuff and be slightly crispy instead of being soaked with toppings and sauce. Nevertheless this is a great pizza place for a nice sit down pizza dinner.

Shefali M.

Yelp
Solid date night spot with cute ambiance and yummy food! We got a few different pizzas, my favorite being the sausage and honey one. Always ask for their seasonal specials because those are great too!! We got to try pear and burrata with a balsamic glaze and also a seasonal pistachio pesto pizza with prosciutto. The crust was a perfect doughy consistency that loved. Overall great place!

Allison S.

Yelp
Soooooo good as always! The Sausage Honey pizza is hands down the best pizza I've ever had. The cheese and honey mix together in such a beautiful way. It's almost as if you're drinking your pizza in the best way possible. Words can't describe how stunning this pizza is. The ambiance and service are also fantastic. The restaurant is always very clean and the staff are always on point. Pets are also welcome, as there is plenty of outdoor seating!

Emily C.

Yelp
5 stars all around! Indoor and outdoor seating with plenty of space for large parties. We ordered the beet salad which was delicious, cauliflower, meatballs and their special which was heirloom tomatoes with burrata. Everything was delicious! For pizzas, the table shared the sausage and honey, pepperoni and white truffle mushroom. Everything was great and the service was very friendly and attentive. I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
Hands down my favorite restaurant in Redwood City and definitely worth the drive even if you live a little further away. I first discovered Vesta during the height of the pandemic so my husband and I regularly made the drive to get their pizza for takeout night with our bubble. But now, my favorite thing is so dine in their back patio (highly recommend asking to be seated here! It's a lot more private and a total vibe). Vesta also holds a special place in my heard because this is where I had my first team dinner when I joined my current company. . My favorite things to order here are: - Sausage & Honey Pizza (spicy sausage and honey with chilis makes this one of my favorite pizzas of all time. Best flavor combo ever) - Carbonara Pizza (has an egg in the middle with runny yolk!) - Prosciutto & Pineapple Pizza (I know pineapple is divisive but it's like a fancier Hawaiian for those that like pineapple on their pizza!) - Grilled Pears & Fresh Burrata (the pears and burrata pair so well together) - Cauliflower (it comes grilled with honey, chilis etc and it phenomenal) Pork Meatballs (this is a classic!) - I also LOVE the salads here (usually I don't look at the salad menu but I always recommend a salad here) - I also try my best to try their seasonal pizzas whenever I'm there because they're always super creative and delicious. We had a cherry one a few months ago (that I unfortunately don't remember the name of) but it was DELICIOUS.

Jason X.

Yelp
My favorite spot in downtown RWC! The salads and sides are good, but obviously the pizzas are the star of the show. First timers should get one red and one white - we recommend the Sausage & Honey and the Carbonara. Awesome staff who exude good vibes.

Tyler Y.

Yelp
Came here for lunch at 11:45 on a Saturday. No wait and got seated immediately in the back patio. Staff were very friendly and checked up on us intermittently for water and if we needed anything. Mushroom Toast - This was a great appetizer to get the appetite wet for the pizza to come. It came with 4 pieces with a heaping serving of sauced mushrooms. Bread was toasted perfectly and paired well with the soft saucy mushrooms. It was balanced in flavor and was not too strong. Off to a great start. 4.5/5. Sausage and Honey Pizza - Fell in love with honey on pizza ever since I came back from NY and had some on a slice. The bread is on the thin and soft side with a bit of a chew. Great balance between the tiny pepper slices and sausages and honey. Spicy salty and sweet! I love it all. 4.5/5. Peach and Bacon Pizza - This was my favorite. It's a white pizza and had slices of peach paired with bacon. Seems like Vesta likes their sweet and salty pairings. The peaches were perfectly sweet with a hint of sourness to balance the bacon. This was not on the menu but I believe it is a special (potentially seasonal?). Phenomenal. 5/5.

Mimi P.

Yelp
My friends and I were craving pizza and decided to try this out for dinner! Parking can be hard but there are some parking spots near the restaurants nearby. For food, we tried the mushroom toast and sausage & honey pizza. The mushroom toast was definitely yummy and I'm not even a fan of mushrooms! The pizza had a thin crust and was delicious. Would probably add some vegetables to cancel the heaviness!

Jianne D.

Yelp
My favorite pizza place in the Bay Area! I love the Honey & Sausage pizza -- the spiciness of the sausage and the sweetness of the honey = PERFETTO!! The staff is knowledgeable of the menu and takes the time to discuss today's seasonal pizzas in great detail! The ambiance is lively especially on weekend nights!

Vicky Y.

Yelp
Came here to eat with a group of four, the place seems to get pretty busy on a Friday evening so we were glad to have made a reservation through help for 5:30! There is tons of parking nearby, including a parking lot & also a huge parking building just behind the restaurant. The tapas + pizza's here were so delicious! We ordered quite the feast between four people, ordering the arugula salad, grilled bread with olive oil, zucchini cakes (which are seasonal, would probably skip this item if I went again), meatball with arugula (would probably get the tomato sauce one next time, but still very good!) + ordered the pesto cheese, sausage & honey + carbonara pizza (which I have never seen in pizza form, so it was super unique to me -- will say that this is pretty salty due to the cured pork). I can safely say that we sampled a good majority of the items & can positively say that all of the food was very tasty. I would definitely recommend the sausage & honey pizza to everybody, it was a crowd favorite. I would come back just for this item! We also ordered the affogato for dessert at the end and I would recommend sharing between two people. I have never been served an affogato with SO much gelato, so it was a very pleasant surprise! Overall, I had a great meal here! The service was rather quick although the restaurant was packed + the server was quite attentive and patient as we ordered and accidentally talked all over ourselves lol! I look forward to returning in the future :^)

Yelp
I am a bit surprised by all the high reviews and people saying this is their favorite place in Redwood City. I'm not really a pizza snob, I find most pizza pretty good. However, I thought the pizza here was soggy and super unseasoned (we got the apparently popular sausage and honey pizza). They also really skimped on the toppings like they did with the salad which was also super underwhelming (the little gems salad had a few strands of onion and maybe 3 tiny slivers of dates with a bland gorgonzola dressing -- do not recommend). The burrata and bread appetizer was great! The pizza for the table next to us looked also a bit sparse with the toppings and wet. Maybe the kitchen was having an off day. As for the service, the host and food runners were wonderful! Very friendly and our waters were always filled. But our server was awful. The runner spilled about a third of our salad on the floor right as she got to us. She offered to get a new one but was stopped by our server who insisted it was fine without consulting us and walked away. The salad portions are pretty small to start with so we were left with a few uncut romaine leaves to share, but we weren't too upset by it. I was annoyed when the server started clearing all of the plates while we were still eating. I had to literally grab a plate out of her hands because she apparently didn't see or hear me try to stop her. There was no line of people waiting to be seated. We were a few hours before closing. I have no idea why she wanted to rush us. Perhaps she was having an off day so I didn't take any stars off for that. 3 stars for the great ambiance and lots of fun pizza combinations. There are so many cute, delicious pizza places in this area, I would not come back to this one.

Yelp
Vesta is a solid pizza place, but for somebody coming from a good distance away it's doesn't quite hit all the marks in my book. The pizza combinations are quite creative and worth trying out for pizza veterans, plus their other food offerings are done pretty well. While the pizza itself falls a bit short, the group overall had a great time by vitue of their great service. Interior is very expansive with lots of cozy seating inside and covered/uncovered outdoors seating with lots of heaters. Service was generally excellent with our waiter giving us plenty of checkins and regular refills for hot water throughout the meal (quite the plus for the older Asian folk in the group). Flavor combinations were quite creative and had loads of interesting combos. Unfortunately, in terms of flavor it felt underseasoned despite lots of sausage giving a good dose of salt (the rest of it needed a lot more oomph). Pizza was definitely in the soggy center category, which is fine if it's popping with flavor but as this wasn't it felt just kind of off kilter. The dough was nice and chewy/fresh though. The appetizers were pretty solid eats though, with the mushroom toast and arugula salad being finished off pretty quick. The brussel sprouts were a bit more soggy than crisp as I prefer them, but still fresh and flavorful. A perfectly good option for a pleasant meal, just slightly disappointing on the pizza front.

Yelp
I love that pizza has such a stronghold on the Bay Area. No, you don't have to go to Italy or NY for the good stuff. Vesta has blown up again on social media and for good reason. We decided to give their specials a try which were the zucchini feta cakes with the lemon yoghurt sauce, and their white pie topped off with sausage, red onions, and the crispiest roasted broccolini ever. I only wish there was even more of the toppings.. For menu items: The mushroom toast is the best I've had so far, and the fan favorite which seems to be the sausage and honey red pie which is definitely worth the hype-the cheese is mascarpone! a.k.a-melt in your mouth goodness. Definitely will come back to try other pizzas too. Take your friends to this spot and sit outside in the outdoor patio. It's cozy, and not bad during the winter since there are plenty of heat lamps. This is the place where you'll wanna split so many pizzas with your friends so you can try every single one haha. You can taste the fresh ingredients and the fire roasted crust. The ambiance inside is classy and warm. your bill will be on the "higher" end but it's definitely a nicer pizza place you could bring your date to for dinner. What the heck, I'd bring just myself here to eat their pizza again. Shout out to Chelsea for being so lovely and making our experience so inviting!

Yelp
This is such a cute restaurant among a street of cute restaurants on Broadway. The street is closed off to traffic, and the restaurants extend their outdoor dining into the streets. Although Vesta has great and unique pizza options, I hate to call it a pizza place because their small plates deserve just as much attention. We had lunch here and shared a few small plates and a pizza. The dishes came out as soon as they were prepared (instead of all at once). Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. What we ordered: + Soup of the Day - I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I think it was parsnip soup. It was very yummy and comforting, with just a touch of spiciness. + Asparagus special - perfectly crispy, fresh, and delicious + Pizza special - sausage with honey and jalapeños. The crust was perfectly thin with a good chewy texture. + Beet salad with avocados, pistachios, frisée, and arugula - a delicious blend + Pork meatballs with arugula - we asked for an extra meatball because there were 4 of us. Meatballs were tender and flavorful + Mexican chocolate bread pudding - this was quite large and filling. Good for sharing. Overall, a great place to try a little of everything. You won't be disappointed because everything's delicious.

Yelp
My friend has been craving this place for a whole month now, and we finally got to go! I'd say it was definitely worth the wait. I personally don't like super thick crusted pizza, and I loved that these pizzas weren't thick! I shared the sausage and honey pizza... omg.. soo good (except for the jalapeño-- I picked those out & gave to my friend lol). I probably could've finished a whole pizza by myself if I'm being honest haha. My friend is vegan, so she ordered the vegan maple mushroom pizza with truffle oil on the side. Just WOW. Now I know why she was so excited to come back here to her fave pizza place! I def wanna come back again! Sadly I didn't get a pic of her pizza.. but you should totally try it-- don't forget the truffle oil on the side! Service was great, besides the fact that we had to ask our waitress to repeat the off-the-menu specials a few times, because she spoke so fast lol but other than that, the ambiance was nice, not too loud. It was a bit dark but I didn't mind it.

Yelp
Vesta is a delightful gem in Redwood City! Their pies are absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients that really shine in every bite. The Sausage & Honey pizza is always one of our orders--it's a perfect combination of savory and sweet that never disappoints. I also love that they offer several veggie-forward appetizers and salads, making it easy to find something for everyone in our group. The indoor and outdoor spaces are wonderful, with a lovely setup both in the back and out front. It's the perfect spot to relax after a hike at nearby Pulgas Ridge, which is a great place for off-leash walking with the dog. You'll meet some very friendly folks there, but just be careful as they do warn of mountain lions--though I've never come across one myself. Vesta always brings my pup water, which is great coming back from a hike. We're always looking for thoughtful dog-friendly places, and heard about a new place called Brindleden, opening next year. It sounds like a great spot for dogs to play off leash while we enjoy a beer. If you're looking for a great meal and a pet-friendly atmosphere, Vesta is definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in the Peninsula! I love their pork meatballs, burrata plate, basil burrata pizza , vegan pizza, and their mushroom pizza! Ambience is very nice inside and it's right in the middle of downtown Redwood City. Service is amazing every time I go as well. Will keep coming back!

Yelp
So disappointed! Sausage & Honey 4/10 - very sweet - it wasn't hot honey..just sweet normal honey - sausage was good - crust as very dry but the center of the pizza was sooooooo thin and the sauce broke apart the pizza Pesto soppressata 6/10 - really good pesto - soppressata is good - the pizza dough/crust was so dry and did not do the sauce and toppings any justice Overall, I can see this place being a vibe with friends but the food is not it for me. Our friends recommended this place but I'm sad it did not live up to my expectations.

Yelp
Delicious, unique pizza choices at Vesta! Restaurant is classy & quaint but seating is limited & tables are packed very tightly together. We could clearly hear the conversation of the table next to us (without wanting to) & I am sure they could hear ours, which made our dining experience kind of awkward. Our 2 pizza choices were the Sausage & Honey & the Rosemary, Potato & Bacon with the Farm Egg. Sausage & Honey pizza was excellent with the sweet and salty spicy elements going for it. Rosemary, Potato and Bacon was also very good & I would definitely recommend adding the egg! It sounds odd but it really works! The Wild Arugula Salad with Hazelnuts & Apricot Vinaigrette was a great side. I recommend sizing up to the large ($14) as it seemed to be a much more generous portion for the price. Overall, not an inexpensive dining option with each pizza costing $26.50, but their pizzas were unique & tasty!

Yelp
Overall there's never a disappointment with the food. It's always been up to par and whenever I have a pizza craving, it's a go to spot. Service is great and friendly and in a great location with decent seating and vibes. Everything on the menu is good here!

Yelp
I went here during lunch time during the week and we were seated right away. After being seated, a lot of tables started to fill up. The service was great and our server was very attentive. We ordered a lot of food, but my favorites were the pork meatball and sausage and honey pizza. The sausage and honey pairing was very delicious and had a ton of flavor. The brown sugar lemonade was also tasty as well. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and craving pizza, but I think there are better pizza spots in the Bay Area.

Yelp
I have heard of this place and I recently got the chance to come here with my coworkers for a team dinner. We were feeling a pizza, beer, and good vibes type of night and Vesta was spot on! The server was really nice and quick with our drinks. They also don't take reservations, but we were easily able to get a table for 5 around 5:30. When we left it was getting a little wild, but overall it wasn't hard to get a table. We ordered: -Kale salad with jalapeno pickled raisins, breadcrumbs, pecorino, tossed with green onion avocado dressing. Wow this salad was bursting with flavor! I didn't know kale could taste so good! -Zucchini Cakes with french feta, dill, topped with lemon yogurt was so yummy! Perfect appetizer! -Brussels Sprouts tossed with apple cider vinaigrette, bacon, and breadcrumbs. Don't skip out on those delicious veggies! They are so good! -Sausage & Honey pizza with tomato sauce, spicy Italian sausage, mascarpone, honey, and serrano chili was my absolute favorite! I was trying to be demure and share with my coworkers, but I think I could of eaten that whole thing by myself. -Rosemary Potato & Bacon pizza with potato, white cheddar, pecorino, rosemary, and Applewood smoked bacon was just divine! Great balance to the other pizza that we got. You can never go wrong with a potato and bacon pizza, but this one isn't basic, there's something special about it that I can't quite pinpoint. It might be the white sauce that it comes with. I'll have to order it again to figure it out.

Yelp
I got the carbonara pizza which had a thin crust. The bacon that was on the pizza was good but it did overpower some of the cheese flavor. The service was quick and they were attentive. This place has a nice outdoor seating area which is where I sat.

Yelp
We came here on a Friday night for dinner. There was quite a bit of a wait (~45 min), so I highly recommend coming early to join the Yelp waitlist. There is seating available both indoors and outdoors. The ambiance was very lively and busy. We ordered: - Mushroom Toast - the mushroom toast was very delicious and creamy. There were 4 pieces total. - Mushroom Pizza (white pie) - A bit on the salty side but it was pretty good white pie. - Basil Burrata - I really liked this pizza. It was delicious and the sauce was very flavorful. Our server was also very friendly and patient in introducing the menu! Overall, I had a really good experience and will be back in the future to try more items from the menu.

Yelp
2 words: mushroom toast! It's so good and I can eat this every meal and still not get tired of it. O R D E R E D - Seasonal Baratta [pear] - Mushroom Toast - Grilled Bread - Sausage Honey Red Pie - Prosciutto & Pineapple Red Pie - Rosemary Potato and Bacon White Pie V E R D I C T I have dined here with multiple friends that aren't huge mushroom fans but once bite into Vesta's mushroom toast, they are in heaven. They said that is hands down the best mushroom toast and the ONLY mushroom toast they will ever eat. It's flavorful, crunchy and just addicting! They have outdoor front dining, indoor dining and even a back patio dining, they are definitely bigger than they look. I love all the pizzas we've tried here but i think my favorite recently is their potato and bacon white pie. How would I describe this? It's like eating fries on your pizza topped with bacon. The service is always welcoming and whenever we come with a big group, they are so accommodating, which we appreciate cause big groups can be a lot to handle sometimes.

Yelp
I have come here a few times a year over the years and the mushrooms toast has been the most delicious appetizer ever. The sausage and honey pizza (sounds weird) but that spice with the honey and sausage is sooooo good, i promise you have to get it, its so delicious only a crazy person would not like it. I always leave here happy. it is a really cute restaurant and always busy but the service is always pretty good and they move fast. the only con is the bathroom is in a weird spot across from the kitchen so that hallway always gets backed up.

Yelp
This is our go-to spot in the peninsula, and they've always been consistently good! The sausage & honey pizza has the right amount of savory and sweetness to it, on a light thin crust. The pork meatballs come seasoned well, fluffy and juicy, and the butter lettuce salad paired with the plum vinaigrette has a nice tartness to it. Service has always been on point, with no gaps in communication or extended wait times, it's a great casual restaurant to dine in with friends & family.

Yelp
FOOD (4/5): All my coworkers hyped up the sausage honey pizza and it did not disappoint! If you love sweet and spicy this was a great blend. The crust wasn't too thick and slightly charred. The pesto pizza was also simple but decent! They have a kale salad appetizer that was a hit with our table. I would skip on ordering the bread unless you're a big fan of extra carbs outside of the pizzas. INSTAGRAM WORTHY (5/5): The restaurant is quant with a back patio seating and cute indoor vibes. The food all looked appetizing too! SERVICE (5/5): Very attentive service for our party of 10, we got checked up on, drinks poured for us, tables cleared in a timely manner, etc. Sad that they don't take reservations though! TAKEAWAYS: Cute pizza joint in downtown RWC, would recommend to those in town!
