The Best Pizzas in Austin

"Thanks to its trucks and numerous physical restaurants around Austin, Via 313’s Detroit-style pies are well-known in the city’s pizza scene. A cool trick it does: The thick-crust square pizzas are actually baked in auto-part pans from the Motor City. Try the Bobo Brazile (hot Calabrese, sausage, red pepper flakes, and hot honey) or the Hawaiian (whole pineapple slices with ham, of course). If you don’t want to eat in or at one of the outside trucks, it does offer takeaway orders online." - Nadia Chaudhury

The Best Bars And Restaurants On Rainey Street

"Via 313’s signature Detroit-style pies have become a rectangular staple in the Austin dining scene since they first emerged in 2011, and to this day they still serve the same purpose as they always have—an excellent vessel for soaking up drinks during a night out. It’s thick crusted (but still nice and airy inside), with a thick layer of crispy cheese around the edges where it hits the pan. Orders can take a while when they’re busy, so plan accordingly. " - raphael brion, nicolai mccrary

Ordered togo. Quick for perfectly cooked pizza. Got the ambassador and would again! The hot honey is a must. Caesar dressing is bomb. I added tomatoes and olives cause I’m like that. Get a large everything cause it’s that good. I usually only eat one or two slices of pizza but I ate an entire small to myself. (4 pieces - I’m a small chick). I was full. But leftovers would’ve been rad!!!

This pizza place is okay, but the setup is kind of odd. It's cool that it's right next to a bar, but the entire ordering process is a pain—you have to scan a QR code to order, which I personally can't stand. The quality of the pizza is decent, and it’s probably a good fit for someone looking to grab some 'za while having a few drinks at the attached bar. This isn't something I would go out of my way for at all but sufficient if you are already there having some drinks.

Tasty pizza albeit the Detroit tomatoe sauce made it a tad messy. Maybe a fork would have been handy. Ya, ya, pizzas aren’t eaten with Forks! lol! Other than messy, tasty, flavourful! Service for a small was about 12-15 mins on a busy Sunday. Thanks!!

Via 313 is one of the best Detroit style pizza in ATX! Today I ordered their pizza through UberEats. I asked them not to put sauce on the pizza because it might get soggy, but they made a mistake and poured the sauce. Surprisingly, they made another one and sent both of them. Definitely giving 5 stars for that. And I think I don't have to ever give a review about it. David Portnoy already did his job about it! Highly recommend!

The pizza was fire. The wait was not. Sending texts mid make to see if I want to add a drink or dessert is also in poor taste when we’ve been waiting over 29 minutes. Kicker was when we got alert it was ready…false alarm. That happened for 3 orders we had here between several families so it wasn’t a one time event. So be prepared for a wait and just know it’ll be ok and worth it in the end.

We ordered the wrong pizza by mistake (herbivore and omnivore) we asked them to remake it even though it was our fault and they still remade it. Incredible people, Inceedible food. Incredible service.

The pizza is BOMB and the guys who were helping me and making kit were super cool. Every time I come to Austin I hit up this place because it’s absolutely amazing.

This is not a dine in restraunt. It is attached to the Star Bar. I am 24 and tried to use the restroom and the Star Bar wouldnt let me because I was with my little brother who is 20. I have Celiacs Disease and asked for gluten free pizza. The pizza was gluten and I was sick the entire next day, had to miss work. Since I couldnt eat in the dining area with my little brother who is 20, we were forced to eat next to two homeless men. They asked us for money several times while we were eating. Wont ever be coming back here, or to this area in general. Not my type of crowd. Use discretion.
