One of the Best Sandwiches I've Ever Tasted!! Stumbled into Via Della Scrofa the other afternoon intending to just buy a coffee. So pleasantly surprised to find that it is so much more than a coffee/panini shop, but actually a cute and well-curated Italian market. I waited patiently to place my order, stopping myself from filling my hands with jars of imported olive oils, cookies or cured meats. Finally I placed my order - ordered the Scrofa - and watched the simple process used to make it. The man behind the counter was efficient, kind and intentional in his work. He handed me my sandwich and I took it to the car for my hour-long ride home. Two blocks away I decided to take my first bite of this crunchy, smoky, oil-dripping panino and I nearly spun the car around to go get another one! Not an exaggeration, one of the top 5 sandwiches I've ever had in my life - and I do not give that credit out lightly. I will 100% go back and try more because this spot is now officially on my forever - YOU HAVE TO GO List.

Excellent shop that has Chinotto Neri 8 and many other specialties that are hard to find. The paninis are great. I can't wait to go there again.

VIa Della Scrofa as road is a small Italian cafe serving up a menu of savory eats and coffee drinks as well as Italian grocery items. The cafe is located on a quiet street, so it’s a nice spot to grab a coffee and eats and stroll around the East Village or elsewhere. The interior is clean, well organized, and welcoming—has that local store charm as well as ton of high quality food items. no seats, grab n go only The sandwiches menu contains a number of savory bites. Last time, I tried the “Porco Deddena”—porchetta (roasted pork), sun dried tomatoes, and smoked mozzarella on a small soft chewy baked roll. The sandwich is served warm. The porchetta / pork is amazing—fatty, flavorful, and savory. The sun-dried tomatoes has that intense tart sweet flavor that cuts through the sandwich. The smoked mozzarella has that subtle scent and taste of fiery smokiness and an earthy meatiness to it. The roll is has that soft chew carb-y grain that folds the pork, sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella together. This is a small sandwich that is worth every calorie because it uses such high quality ingredients and really shows off that simple can rival complex any day of the week for a meal. Porco Deddenna, $9.99 + tax + tip Staff is chilled out and friendly.

The menu says sandwiches are $5 and the lady behind the counter either charges you $7 no matter what. That’s before tax also

Yelp
Such a hidden gem; feels like you're taking a step back in Italy! I'm so glad I found this place; it feels like an authentic Italian market, which you don't see too many of in the city. They have lots of Italian products to purchase, along with homemade sandwiches, which are delicious! I ordered the Porco Deddena, which was served with really good crunchy bread, and super fresh ingredients. I have already recommended this spot to a few people, and will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
- the sandwiches aren't large but they're filling - went in and requested their "2 most popular sandwiches." walked around the block with my pupper (10 min or less) and the guy behind the counter handed me the Scrofa (Porchetta, broccoli rabe and smoked mozzarella) and Na Fetta De Culo (Parma prosciutto, Buffalo mozzarella and tomatoes) - both were good but offered different vibes - the scrofa ($10): heartier, you could actually taste that the moz was smoked and there was a bite of ...almost sour? to the broccoli rabe - the na fetta de culo ($11): I was partial to this one, enjoyed the saltiness of the prosciutto against the fresh tomatoes - both served on a crispy exterior, domed chewy roll; it's actually quite tall, was a bit hard to get it all in for a bite but nevertheless very tasty

Yelp
If I could marry a sandwich it would be theirs. Amazing little deli tucked into a quaint Italian grocery. Great service and a wonderful place to wander into.

Yelp
Authentic Italian sandwiches for the win! Love this little hole in the wall hybrid Italian grocery and sandwich store. All of the ingredients in the paninis (porchetta, prosciutto, sun dried tomatoes, mozzerela) were so fresh and flavorful. Bread was soft with a slight crunch on the outside. There is no real space to eat inside the shop so you should plan on taking out.

Yelp
The porchetta sandwich is to die for. The guy there is super kind and is from Rome. Fantastic prices, and somehow has Estathe' (can't find it anywhere else). Come here for lunch it's worth it!

Yelp
Amazing authentic products directly from Italy! Great prices and fresh ingredients. Highly recommend stopping by for a filling sandwich (we got the Na Fetta De Culo) or picking up some genuine Italian groceries!
