Dining at Viand was an absolute delight! Every dish, from the fresh, zesty salads to the smoky, tender grilled skewers and bold, aromatic curries, showcased meticulous craftsmanship and premium ingredients. Chef and owner Annie's warm hospitality, along with her attentive staff, made the experience truly memorable. My husband and I had an amazing dinner at Viand last week, and we were absolutely blown away by the experience! Annita and her team were exceptional, providing top-notch service that made the evening even more special. The dishes were beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Viand is the best Thai restaurant in Sydney. This is primarily driven by the food, Anita's experience running the show at Nahm Bangkok, is abundantly clear in every dish. The sophisticated depth of flavor through all the dishes we had, received constant sighs of 'oh sooo good' . The soft shell crab opener, a flavor bursting, textural, treat demonstrating some real technique. My favorite, the trout salad a hi wire balancing act of flavor and texture, sublime. I could go on.. attentive service and an interesting wine list of excellent matches with the food, makes for a really great experience. Get in there locals, tourists should make a special effort to get here. It's Thai food nirvana. No photo's from last night, though some from previous visits for some sort of reference. Enjoy!

It was an absolute treat to spend an evening at Viand, working through their five course tasting menu. A great way to try a variety of dishes. The food was out of this world, we were very impressed and will be visiting again when we’re next in Sydney!

Settle in for an evening of exquisite Thai dishes from the mad skillz of Chef Annita Potter. There’s a reason those peppered shallot egg nets have never come off the menu. A riot of sweetness, umami, pepper & texture like I’d never before experienced, in one perfect bite. I’m hardly an expert in Thai cuisine, but the seasonal Chef’s Tasting menu is always a beautiful balance of fresh, feisty, zingy, and deeply flavourful & mellow dishes that will nourish your soul. With such a small team, yes, the service can sometimes be a little slow, but just give yourself over to the experience, and to the warmth of the staff, and you will walk out feeling happy and well cared for, the way we always do. It’s special occasion dining for sure, but frankly, any excuse will do. It’s a shame the location doesn’t have more foot traffic, because Viand really deserves more attention. But with the Thursday/Friday a la carte lunch menu now available, there’s all the more reason to get yourself there. Happy days!!

Love the food! Amazing! BYO on the first Monday night of the month! I came again for the BYO night! The food was yet again amazing but I don't think my Stonewall Shiraz was treated with the respect it deserved! Came again (Monday, March 2nd) and had another great meal. This time I opened the wine myself. Crappy corks as usual!

I recently attended a Thai cooking masterclass at Viand and was absolutely blown away by the experience! Annita and her team were exceptional. The masterclass was a perfect blend of education and enjoyment. Annita shared invaluable Thai cooking techniques and highlighted the importance of quality ingredients, which truly enhanced our understanding of authentic Thai cuisine. Her passion for cooking was inspiring to learn from someone so knowledgeable and dedicated. This was hands down one of the best masterclasses I have ever done. If you’re considering it, don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it! It is also a perfect gift for someone you love. Thank you, Annita, for a truly memorable experience. We’ll be back soon, for both the delicious food and great hospitality! Tip: Come hungry, take lots of notes, and appreciate the beautiful Japanese ceramics.
