13 Diners in Las Vegas for Heaping Plates of Bacon and Eggs | Eater Vegas

"Vickie’s uncle, Pete Kelesis, is rumored to have opened the first diner in Vegas many years ago. The namesake Vickie has since relocated the diner to the Commercial Center on Sahara Avenue, but it still serves specialties like chicken-fried steak made fresh in-house daily, burgers, 1-pound ham steaks, and old-fashioned liver and onions." - Janna Karel

Where to Eat in Las Vegas’s Historic Commercial Center | Eater Vegas

"This old-school diner is a reminder of what Las Vegas used to be. Simple and relaxed. The no-frills menu is packed with egg dishes, sloppy patty melts, a chicken Philly cheese steak, and grilled pork chops." - Ryan Slattery

Reopening Soon, Vickie’s Diner Is Reviving Its Pink Booth Seating at the Commercial Center - Eater Vegas

"Continuing a restaurant legacy dating back to 1955, Vickie's Diner appears on target for a summer debut at the Commercial Center, reopening as a '50’s-style diner' for breakfast and lunch. Owner Vickie Kelesis initially took over the famed Tiffany’s Café in 2014, a local institution for over five decades inside the White Cross Drugs building, later known as White Cross Market. Located under the shadow of the Strat on Las Vegas Boulevard, the unpretentious venue re-branded as Vickie’s Diner under Kelesis. But, in August of 2020, the building’s operators sold the entire property, forcing the diner to quickly find a new home on East Sahara Avenue, a short distance from Lotus of Siam. With signage already installed on the exterior and attached to its windows, the long, rectangular interior of Vickie’s will feature a large mural imported from the original space, pink-colored booths, and regular table seating. In 2015, Ty Pennington and Amanda Freitag revamped Vickie’s for their American Diner Revival TV show, switching the long-serving red color scheme over to pink and adding the floor-to-ceiling mural. Although an opening ETA has yet to be announced, Vickie’s Diner should be open daily, from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m, and include a roster of breakfast favorites, burgers, sandwiches, and entrées, and malts, shakes, and a banana split among the desserts." - Bradley Martin

Vickie’s Diner, one of the oldest diners in Las Vegas closes permanently on Sunday - Eater Vegas

"Vickie's Diner, one of the oldest in Las Vegas, closes on Sunday after the building's landlord ordered the restaurant to vacate the building. George Knapp from 8 News Now reports on Twitter that the landlord gave the diner until August 26 close. Owner Vickie Kelesis's uncle, Pete Kelesis, originally owned the restaurant that opened in 1955 inside White Cross Drugs. Legend tells of famous clientele including Rat Pack members and Elvis Presley filling their prescriptions at the Las Vegas Boulevard pharmacy. The former diner, Tiffany's, was famed for its breakfast menu for folks of a less well-heeled heritage, red vinyl seating, and the walls of thrift store-style, outsider art paintings. Vickie's took over the space in 2014. White Cross Drugs closed in 2012 and became White Cross Market, which closed in 2015. That 22,000 square feet of space is still available for lease." - Susan Stapleton

Such good service!! They were totally on top of every detail. Our glasses were never empty. The food was so good!!. Everything was so well seasoned. The chicken fry was mouth-watering. The liver and onions were scrumptious. The cream gravy melted in your mouth. The mushroom burger has to be cut in half because it was so big. The cabbage soup .... yum!!! Such a cute 50s ambiance. We will be back.

Wonderful pancake and egg breakfast. I got a scrambled egg which I typically don’t and didn’t care for it but my husbands easy over was very good. The homemade hash browns were so so good. Very friendly waitress and staff, everyone checks on you.

I’m originally from the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 and Italy 🇮🇹, and finding myself in the states alone, I decided to search for pancakes on Google Maps while I was at the Strat hotel. I found a number of options that were just a short 8-minute walk, but unfortunately, they all had ratings of 4.2 or below. Then I spotted a place with a rating of 4.6, which was a 23-minute walk away. I decided it was worth the extra time, and I’m so glad I did. When I arrived, April, my server, was incredibly kind and patient. She gave me the space I needed to make my choice without feeling rushed, and when my food arrived, it was hot and beautifully presented. It truly felt like a comforting diner experience that I had been hoping for. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team who took care of me during my visit. Your efforts made a real difference!

What a delightful discovery! This place exudes a genuine charm that adds to the overall experience. The French toast, perfectly golden and fluffy, paired exquisitely with sunny-side-up eggs that were cooked to perfection, showcasing a beautiful runny yolk. The food was prepared swiftly, yet it was evident that great care and attention were invested in every detail. I wholeheartedly recommend this gem to any visitors; it’s clear from the warm exchanges among patrons that it holds a special place in the hearts of the locals as well.

Excellent service and 50s diner atmosphere. Stopped for a quick bite before we hit the road. It was pretty slow on a weekday morning. Worth the stop.

Restaurant is super clean, pancakes were perfect, the only complaint is bacon way over cooked. Highly recommended this place, i agree area is "shady" but it was worth it.

Vickes Diner definitely stands out with its all-pink interior—walls, booths, even the uniforms. It feels like stepping into a retro Barbie dream, which is fun at first, but quickly becomes a bit overwhelming. The décor is heavily themed around cars, and the menu follows suit with names and designs inspired by vehicles. However, the car theme made the menu feel cluttered and confusing rather than creative. The food itself is simple—nothing to complain about, but nothing to rave over either. It felt more like diner food you'd grab on the go rather than something memorable. I did enjoy my meal and appreciate that it was served hot and relatively quickly. The staff was polite, but the overall experience didn’t feel very welcoming or cozy. But didn't how everyone was serious. I can see how others might enjoy the kitschy atmosphere and bright colors, especially if they’re looking for something different or Instagram-worthy. But for me, once was enough. While I’m glad I gave it a try and found some enjoyment in the food, I probably wouldn’t go back. If you’re into bold décor and car-themed chaos, it might be worth a visit.
