Reopening Soon, Vickie’s Diner Is Reviving Its Pink Booth Seating at the Commercial Center - Eater Vegas

"Continuing a restaurant legacy dating back to 1955, Vickie's Diner appears on target for a summer debut at the Commercial Center, reopening as a '50’s-style diner' for breakfast and lunch. Owner Vickie Kelesis initially took over the famed Tiffany’s Café in 2014, a local institution for over five decades inside the White Cross Drugs building, later known as White Cross Market. Located under the shadow of the Strat on Las Vegas Boulevard, the unpretentious venue re-branded as Vickie’s Diner under Kelesis. But, in August of 2020, the building’s operators sold the entire property, forcing the diner to quickly find a new home on East Sahara Avenue, a short distance from Lotus of Siam. With signage already installed on the exterior and attached to its windows, the long, rectangular interior of Vickie’s will feature a large mural imported from the original space, pink-colored booths, and regular table seating. In 2015, Ty Pennington and Amanda Freitag revamped Vickie’s for their American Diner Revival TV show, switching the long-serving red color scheme over to pink and adding the floor-to-ceiling mural. Although an opening ETA has yet to be announced, Vickie’s Diner should be open daily, from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m, and include a roster of breakfast favorites, burgers, sandwiches, and entrées, and malts, shakes, and a banana split among the desserts." - Bradley Martin
