For the too-long-didn't-read-it crew, the nutshell says the food was good, but the service and payment limitations were lacking. I'll explain.
Server Bennet was by no means the most personable guy in the hospitality business. Every question seemed like a chore to answer and his face was one of a man who didn't want to be there. Arriving right at 2pm, we were the first customers (with reservation), so it's not like he had time to have a long day. I try not to dog folks with social issues or introversion or whatever, because not everyone can be life of the party. But when you're in the "people pleasing" business, you have to fit the uniform.
Moving on, the menu has a footnote down at the bottom right explaining parties of 6 cannot split checks. I don't know everything, but I'm pretty sure large parties are the types of parties that usually need or WANT to split the checks. Making Vic's a problem for large parties. In the end, it was a massive headache for all 12 people who, in 2025, don't customarily carry cash anymore, to pay the bill. Ultimately, everyone either found ATM's or sent me their charges via Venmo and Cashapp and I paid the bill myself with a credit card. Now, I'm sure the restaurant has their reasons for this restriction, but none of them are good enough for me, whatever they are.
I had the arugula salad and two meatballs clocking in at around $6 each. That's too much money for 6oz meatballs in a sauce that didn't exactly bleed seasoned flavor. I still liked them and did quite enjoy the salad, sans cheese - with onions, walnuts, kalamata olives and tomatoes in balsamic vinaigrette. It said the olives "may have pits." Mine, thankfully, did not. Altogether, it was a filling meal that would've sufficed even if I'd shaved off a meatball.
I'd like to mention, however, that the two young female servers (I didn't get their names) were very amicable and competent. My family of 11 other patrons seemed to enjoy their meals and, as I said, mine was tasty. Yet, there were times when I struggled to hear server information thanks to the loud music from up front, on top of the aforementioned issues. The stuff outside of the payment situation are small enough to overlook, but having to bust our tails scrounging money together to work through their check splitting limitations are enough to keep me out of Vic's pretty much forever.
