Loved it! The ambiance was so nice and comfortable. Service was also very pleasant. The food was amazing in every dish that we ordered, especially the risotto balls, which were so crispy and savory on the outside and cheesy in the middle. Also loved the piano music in the background, and the pianist was also so lovely and sweet to talk to as well! Will definitely be coming back for future food runs 😋

It’s a sweet Italian spot in a nondescript almost back alley, but I can see why people find it out nevertheless. The whole ambiance is so signature of family run business. The corner piano, the posters on wall, the bumper of an Italian car to the basil growing in outside pots. The outside statue with Italian flag has broken arms and the floor to roof pizza boxes are not a sight to behold but, Bennett makes it up more than asked for by his patience, knowledge and willingness to work with a vegetarian like me, as he said they can somewhat customize your order. Portions were good, tea not very sweet and sauces creamy. Cheese didn’t taste fresh and pesto really tasty. The novelty is the postcard and paper clip that comes with your bill and almost endearing is their deli paper or basket liner…the cutest thing I have seen in long time, making me to try my broken Italian by reading from La Gazette 🗞️ If you are a lover of culture and cuisine and have lust for life and living and want to enjoy music and manners… this is a must visit place to see a rushing youngster staff and laughing families and some old world charm.

Really great Italian! I now saw the largest Calzones I ever saw. Cheese, cheese and more cheese! The Pollo Alla Parmigiana was outstanding as well. This will definitely become one of my favorite go to’s when in the area.

Google
Same as all of the other glowing reviews of this restaurant, our waiters name was Bennett. He was friendly, informative, and gave excellent service. He made ordering food a part of the experience. The food itself was equally excellent, one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to. They also have live piano on some days playing a wide variety of music: classical, modern and even renditions of more niche music. Ordered pepperoni and garlic pizza on a later date which was also splendid, would have taken a picture if we didn’t eat it so fast. I recommend the garlic topping especially. Highly recommend this location to anyone who likes Italian food in Raleigh.

We love Vic’s. The food and service is always amazing. Garlic knots are hot and fresh. Homemade ravioli in pistachio pesto was so delicious. Our server Bennett and the live piano made our meal perfect!

This is a quant little restaurant off of Lake Boone Trial that if you blink, you would miss it. This is a family owed restaurant and their Italian accents gave the whole visit a true delightful Italian experience. The service was great. The food here was very good, however I will not lie, this is not my favorite local Italian restaurant. I would recommend the Mozzarella Caprese and the Garlic knots. The Chicken and Veal Parmigiana were good, but there was nothing special about the sauce. My mom is a huge fan of the Lasagna here, but once again for me, it taste like a basic Lasagna. We had someone order the Linguine Alla Pescatora, the Linguini with clams (needed more sauce), and one other dish that I cant remember ( but I think it had a vodka sauce over spaghetti with shrimp). All the dishes were good, but nothing that wowed us as far as the food goes. They did have a piano player who entertained us the whole meal and at times made it hard to eat because were we singing. I tried to load the video of the piano player, but sadly it wouldn't load on here

Google
The food here was very delicious, and our waiter, Bennett was wonderful. The portions were big enough that everyone had leftovers. We will definitely come back when we visit Raleigh again.

Google
From the moment we walked into Vic’s Italian Restaurant, we felt completely welcomed. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. The food was absolutely incredible. Every bite full of flavor and made with care. On top of that, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner and his girlfriend, which made the experience even more special. You can tell he put his heart into this place. We will definitely be coming back again and again! I would give this establishment 100 stars if I could.

Yelp
Impressive homemade ingredients, strombolis packed with ingredients, and great customer service! We ordered stromboli ($15.95), chicken alfredo $23.95), and the cherry cheesecake. Originally we ordered the limoncello cake ($9.95), but they were out. They swapped in the cherry cheesecake ($13.95) for no upcharge. Ordering online was quick and easy although I do wish they had a create your own stromboli option. The stromboli is customizable, however, you have to pay an extra $4 for each added topping and don't save money for removed items (but you can get them on the side). We enjoyed all of the items. The stromboli and alfredo were delicious, rich, and flavorful. Our order lasted multiple meals over several days. It does taste best fresh, however, it reheated well. Overall, we had a positive experience here and recommend this restaurant to others!

Yelp
For the too-long-didn't-read-it crew, the nutshell says the food was good, but the service and payment limitations were lacking. I'll explain. Server Bennet was by no means the most personable guy in the hospitality business. Every question seemed like a chore to answer and his face was one of a man who didn't want to be there. Arriving right at 2pm, we were the first customers (with reservation), so it's not like he had time to have a long day. I try not to dog folks with social issues or introversion or whatever, because not everyone can be life of the party. But when you're in the "people pleasing" business, you have to fit the uniform. Moving on, the menu has a footnote down at the bottom right explaining parties of 6 cannot split checks. I don't know everything, but I'm pretty sure large parties are the types of parties that usually need or WANT to split the checks. Making Vic's a problem for large parties. In the end, it was a massive headache for all 12 people who, in 2025, don't customarily carry cash anymore, to pay the bill. Ultimately, everyone either found ATM's or sent me their charges via Venmo and Cashapp and I paid the bill myself with a credit card. Now, I'm sure the restaurant has their reasons for this restriction, but none of them are good enough for me, whatever they are. I had the arugula salad and two meatballs clocking in at around $6 each. That's too much money for 6oz meatballs in a sauce that didn't exactly bleed seasoned flavor. I still liked them and did quite enjoy the salad, sans cheese - with onions, walnuts, kalamata olives and tomatoes in balsamic vinaigrette. It said the olives "may have pits." Mine, thankfully, did not. Altogether, it was a filling meal that would've sufficed even if I'd shaved off a meatball. I'd like to mention, however, that the two young female servers (I didn't get their names) were very amicable and competent. My family of 11 other patrons seemed to enjoy their meals and, as I said, mine was tasty. Yet, there were times when I struggled to hear server information thanks to the loud music from up front, on top of the aforementioned issues. The stuff outside of the payment situation are small enough to overlook, but having to bust our tails scrounging money together to work through their check splitting limitations are enough to keep me out of Vic's pretty much forever. Yelp
Excellent food and service. Ravioli was homemade and served in a rich pistachio pesto sauce with broccoli, sausage, and fried eggplant. Fresh hot garlic knots complimented the meal!

Yelp
We ordered a 14" white pie to share, and it was very good! The garlic knots look great too. My husband ordered a glass of the bolder of two house reds, and I got an IPA that was on tap. Both were very good. Re. The pizza: The olive oil here is Amazing! We can taste it in the pizza. The crust is perfect. Our waiter was too Italian to understand in the noisy restaurant There's a piano player playing a red piano that blends into the red wall behind him. We decided that more restaurants should have live music.

Beth B.

Yelp
The food and service was good but they switch to the more expensive dinner menu at 2 pm. People are eating late lunch at that time, not dinner. I love their food but I will be sure to another location forward or not at all in the afternoon if they all do that. Honestly I think this is a bad policy. Also be warned they will charge you an extra 3% for using a card. This isn't disclosed anywhere.

Yelp
Ordered their pizza deluxe. Received with watery liquid through out pizza leaving center soaked and soggy. Unable to pick it up. Ordered unsweetened ice tea. It was very dark and bitter. Service was good. Would not come again for pizza

Yelp
I stood near the bar waiting to be helped as I watched the woman who assisted me preparing and wrapping silverware. She dropped a clean fork on the floor and put it in the clean bucket to be wrapped. She also scratched her inner nostril when asking what I wanted to order. Needless to say, I left and will not return.

Yelp
Always a great meal and wonderful people! Piano music is always on point! And the serve out Favorite wine!

Yelp
"Good Italian in Raleigh" Came here with my son on a Saturday evening around 6pm-- didn't need a reservation and was immediately seated. There's a large bar right inside the door but two large open dining spaces inside. We were seated near the piano, which was lovely-- the player was great and played popular songs very well (e.g., Sinatra- Theme from New York New York, Stevie Wonder- I Just Called to Say I Love You). Between the music and talking, it was a little loud inside, but not uncomfortably so. And my son was happy they were showing the NCSU basketball game (quietly) on the TV in the background. The menu has standard American Italian favorites, but is much more upscale than divey Italian places-- even having choices like lobster ravioli. I opted for chicken parmigiana and my son got a custom calzone. We split a cannoli for dessert. Food came out relatively quickly-- maybe 10-15 minutes. My chicken parm was excellent-- one of the best I've had- nice thinly sliced chicken, tasty breading, flavorful sauce. My son's calzone was HUGE. Calzones are often big and hollow, but his was PACKED with cheese and toppings (see pic). He could only eat half of his, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The cannoli (vanilla) was also excellent though a bit pricey. All the dishes cost a bit more than at divey Italian places-- the chicken parm was $21 before tax and tip. That said, for a nice settings and excellent quality, I think this was fair. And the service was good too-- they cleared empty plates quickly and got us water as needed. Overall, I'd happily come back, especially if wanting a small splurge.

Yelp
Visited here on a Sunday evening with a party of four, no reservation. There was a pianist playing which was a nice touch. The place was not crowded and there seemed to be plenty of employees but they also seemed short staffed on waitstaff. Our server was working double duty behind the bar and serving. However, he still managed to keep our drinks filled throughout the evening. The menu is big but being gluten free my options were still somewhat limited. I didn't want a $20 small cheese pizza. Pizza toppings for a small were $4.25 which seemed ridiculous. However, our waiter read off the daily specials and there were several delicious sounding options including a seafood risotto. I chose the risotto and my son and his girlfriend chose a cannelloni dish stuffed with chicken and cream sauce. Husband chose the lasagna. Presentation was beautiful, portions were generous. Specials were in the $28-$34 range. Unfortunately when we tried to use a Vic's gift card we received we were told it was only good at the Blake St location which was not indicated anywhere on the card. Oh well, guess we need to go try that location now!

Yelp
This place, hand down, has some of the best Italian i've had in Raleigh. This was the 2nd time I've eaten there and still just as good. The music was a bit loud, but the food was spot on'

Yelp
Vic's was recommended by a client and it was wonderful! I got takeout so feel unable to give a 5 star review as I didn't get the "full experience". Both employees I interacted with (on the phone to place the order and when picking up) were very friendly! I was told to get the Caesar salad and garlic knots but was craving a stromboli so went with the Caesar salad + stromboli. To my surprise, my order came with 2 fresh warm garlic knots which were amazing!!! The salad lived up to the hype and the stromboli was delicious and even larger than expected.

Yelp
First time here and I will be going again, I had a Groupon, which Michael the server did help me and walk me through everything. also recommended a couple dishes, very nice guy by the way. I did not dine in. I did carry out, but the place looks amazing. The food was amazing and super delicious. if anyone is around the area, please give Vic's a visit. You won't be disappointed!.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch/ early dinner an about 4:15 on a week night. There were a few tables already seated but not busy. A girl at the bar asked if I was dining in or take out...no greeting, but at least I didn't have to stand there long. The first table I sat at wasn't clean so I chose a second one. I got my water quickly and decided on the chicken piccata. By the time I got my hands washed I had 2 garlic knots on the table. Very nicely done, warm and lots of real garlic and butter. Between the take out orders and the two previous tables it took awhile to get my food but it came hot and a good sized portion. Lots of good sauce and a few lemons on top. The chicken was very thin....but the sauce was so good it didn't matter. Had some zucchini and yellow squash and broccoli on the side which was nice. I noticed everyone else got pizza. Seems even the takeout was all pizza.... I wish we could give.5 ratings as this was really a 3.5 due to the service, but decided on the4 because the sauce and presentation was so good.

Yelp
We started with the meatballs, Caesar salad, and soup. All flavorful and well-prepared. For mains, we chose the penne alla vodka with added sausage from the main menu, along with lamb chops with gnocchi and a seafood pasta from the specials. Everything was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The cozy ambiance and live piano music, made a perfect date night.

Yelp
Came here and pigged out. I came on a random weekday during lunch and it was pretty quiet, which i preferred. I ordered the lasagna, chicken parmesan, garlic knots, and side of meatball. I enjoyed everything and had plenty of leftovers. I was craving everything so I ordered it all and just ate the leftovers over a couple meals.
google avatar

Allan A.

Yelp
Highly disappointed dinner. This was on my list to visit since it was recommended by a friend. My chicken parmigian dish was inedible. I was unsure if it was overcooked or it was bad chicken but was unable to chew it. Trimed off the edges, ate my pasta side, and called it a night. Service was fast, garlic knots were good.

Yelp
Vic's easily accommodated our party and the service was amazing! Thank you Bennett! The food was amazing and could not have asked for a better experience. Vic's never disappoints and always make it a point to visit here or Blake Street whenever we are in town.

Yelp
Great pizza!! The sauce and crust are really good. One of my favorites in the Raleigh area. Can't comment on the indoor space since we've always gotten pizza to go, but I'll have to go and sit in sometime soon.

Dan S.

Yelp
This is a great local Italian spot. Menu is great and the specials were outstanding. Take your server's recommendation and try something new. You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Well, got this pie about 30 minutes ago and had a few slices. I've been really excited to try this place, and was unfortunately pretty dissatisfied. The pie was more or less a gloopy mush. Bottom falling apart, ton of grease. Not worth it. Edit: i did end up calling and receiving a refund quite unfortunate

Yelp
Vic's is a nice Italian restaurant. Price point is a little on the high end. Service is great, they have a great Selection of wine and full bar. The pizza was my first encounter. My first pie was perfection. Great flavor, portion was spot on, and it was cooked well. The bottom was the pizza had a crispy bottom and was delicious. A few orders in between were take out and my last take out pizza was not consistent with the first. I ended up tossing the pizza. The bottom was soggy and inedible. Not a great feeling especially for the price. Overall 6/10 for your local pizzeria.

Phillip O.

Yelp
Love the people at this restaurant. They make the whole experience fun. Pizza is great as is the pasta. Wine list is great and well priced.

Yelp
This place was very good. Food tastes very authentic. This was our first time here, and we were very pleased that we stopped in for dinner. Highly recommend. Staff is friendly and very attentive.

Yelp
Love the piano miusic. Got the chicken parm with spaghetti. They flavored the pasta with sauce before plating. We will be back.

Yelp
We're a huge fans of the Vic's Lake Boone location - the food is delicious and the staff consistently attentive and friendly. We have been coming to this location for years and Katiia and her team treat us like family. Whether its a family dinner with our children or a quick drink and bite at the bar we are met with kindness and excellent service. We love supporting this local business and have sent many neighbors and out of town guests to share our "spot." You know you're in good hands when you bump into a fond friend you haven't seen in years to learn you both know Katia by name and she knows each of your orders by heart.

Yelp
I don't know if I'm supposed to mention this, but I ordered the Chicken Carbonara that wasn't on the official menu. I couldn't stop smiling all meal. Great food, great service, great prices.

Alex K.

Yelp
Bennett was awesome waiter and food great with specials and family owned concept with lively piano player

Yelp
ordered a shrimp caesar salad during a lunch rush, service was still phenomenal and i was in and out in time to enjoy my lunch break! the salad itself was AMAZING!! the shrimp was seasoned well and i could tell the lettuce was fresh, which is a major plus for me! 10/10 for first impressions!

Megan ..

Yelp
Our time at Vic's was fabulous. The live music, staff, and food were all great! I didn't get to snap any pics because we were so caught up in conversation and trying each other's dishes. Penne alla vodka was a big hit. I ordered the pesto special which was superb. The portions are very large and also delicious reheated. Bennet was our waiter and was fabulous! He was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. I would highly recommend visiting Vic's!!

Mary M.

Yelp
You went there for a special occasion. We had an animated, but knowledgeable waiter. We went for lunch. The menu was well priced and the food was delicious and abundant. We don't live near Raleigh but if we were in the area again, we will definitely go back. parking was a little bit around the block in a deck.

Keith S.

Yelp
Always a fantastic experience, food is always amazing and the service!! Wife and I go at least twice a month.

Yelp
Very solid place for Italian in Raleigh. Amazing atmosphere, the pianist played lovely tunes and the decoration is on point as well as the lighting. Very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food selection was great, the portions were very good too. It was a bit on the pricier side but it's okay since everything was so good. I will definitely come back, the calzone at the next table looked divine and I can't wait to try it!

Heather R.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Impeccable client service. Authentic Italian food that is hard to find here.

Scout ..

Yelp
The best Italian food in Raleigh! The penne vecchia Roma is an amazing dish that you don't find a lot of other places. Once you've had penne vodka from Vic's, you won't want to have it anywhere else. I always add sausage but chicken is good too. The interior looks a lot better now as they've done some upgrades and I can't wait to sit on the patio in the summer. Great selection of beer and wine and you can get it pretty cheap. Service is excellent as Katia or Roberto will always get you what you need!

David F.

Yelp
Bennet did a great job serving and the food was delicious. Ordered the snapper and other people got the fried calamari. All around amazing food. Highly recommend.

Leigh G.

Yelp
Everything! Lots of food choices, very helpful, friendly waitstaff. Half-price bottles and glasses of wine. Comfy atmosphere!

Carolyn L.

Yelp
Tried Vic's for the first time. Service was just ok. Not horrible, but not overly attentive. Food was above avg. Sauce and portions were excellent. Salad was HEAVILY seasoned w/oregano..other than that it was good. Eggplant parm was very good. Good eggplant to breading ratio. Cannoli was fresh. Ambiance/decor Is a bit tired. Would I come back? Yes. Owner/mgr?? Asked how the meal was upon leaving, I mentioned the oregano and he said he'd mention it to the kitchen. Respect that. Check it out

Clayton C.

Yelp
Bread, bread, bread... Disappointing calzone. See picture for the first time I hit any meat. I've tried them multiple times, but for the most part they go real cheap on toppings whether it is a pizza or a calzone. They actually could be an awesome place, but they cut corners and they know it. Check their prices on toppings and look at what you get for it and I bet you won't want to return. FYI. I'm a fair guy. I don't look to bash places, but Vic's has so much room to improve. Don't get me started on sitting through the dinner this leftover came from. It was my birthday dinner and the wait staff never refilled my empty drink. They get two stars for delivering food to the table. I know they have potential, but... Had to come back and edit after finishing. 3 slices of pepperoni for a $2 topping charge...really.

Alex R.

Yelp
I have been to vics countnless times over the past 2 years and everytime they provide great food and even better service. Along with great live music on weekend nights. the ambience along with the music makes for a great date night aswell

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch with a friend and we ordered a large New Yorker (their version of a supreme). The pizza is New York style (thinner crust). One thing to be aware of- the sausage is thin strips instead of the usual little chunks (not sure if that's also a New York style?) so you can't taste it as much. The pizza was decent and true to the NY style. It wasn't busy during our visit, but our service was good and our waiter was funny. I'm interested in going back to try their Italian entrees as I've seen good review for those. My only dislike was they had lot of clutter laying around and that made it feel a bit dirty and unkempt. Part of the ceiling over the kitchen is exposed and there are wires visible everywhere like a construction project was left half finished.

Yelp
**SOLID ITALIAN EXPERIENCE IN DOWNTOWN RALEIGH** We decided to celebrate with an Italian meal, and Vic's was THE place. PARKING ======== Found parking after 5pm on the street, but it's limited. FOOD ====== THE NEW YORKER PIZZA Italian sausage, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, pepperoni, and extra cheese tasted like a typical supreme pizza, which is a pretty familiar standard to most. I do like a crispy and chewy thin-crust, but I cannot fault them for their NYC style, which is a good medium. RATING: 3.5/5 POLLO ALLA PARMIGIANA Breaded chicken breast topped with Mozzarella cheese, baked and served with a side of spaghetti in a tomato sauce was decent and generous. I prefer a breaded crust with a stronger Parmesan cheese flavor and a better in-house homemade marinara sauce with herbs, but overall, not bad. RATING: 3.5/5 SERVICE ======== We were greeted warmly, and our food came out in a timely manner. Nothing to complain about. OVERALL ======== Local, family-owned restaurant with a warm, friendly Italian atmosphere. Their Italian food isn't the best I've personally had, but it's good enough. Ideal for small groups and date nights. RECOMMEND their 18" pizzas to share.

Matt H.

Yelp
Delicious food every single time! Mario went above and beyond to accommodate our large group. Great for to go orders or a sit down family and friend event. Excellent wine selection!
google avatar

Jay R.

Yelp
The only reason I'm giving it 1 star is because the customer service was excellent . The meatballs taste like they came from canned wieners --you know, the wieners that come in a can--that's what the meatballs taste like . The calzone had no ricotta and little mozzarella , mostly just bread . There are a lot better choices out there. I'm not affiliated with this company, but you should check out Bella Monica instead .

Manhar A.

Yelp
All dishes and pizza is fresh and quality ingredients. The portions are large! Must try restaurant.

Gary M.

Yelp
The prices on the menu do NOT include a 3% "Conv Fee". Therefore the listed prices are misleading. The "Conv Fee" is added on the check and grouped with "Sales Tax" and included in "Total Taxes". Our server said it was a fee for using a credit card. It is therefore not a tax and shouldn't be called such. It should also be disclosed up front. Neither our server nor the bartenders knew what beers they offered. Specifically, they had a tap handle from Ponysaurus Brewing company, a craft brewery that makes many different beers. They did not know which Ponysaurus beer they were serving. They kept saying "Ponysaurus". They couldn't understand when I tried to explain that Ponysaurus is a brewery, not a specific beer. The only reason this isn't rated 1 star is the food is very good. I won't be back until they change their dishonest menu practices.

Lauren M.

Yelp
I've never left a bad review but this was really disappointing. Spent $70 and got a wide variety and half the food was definitely reheated. The garlic knots were very hard and dry, and my Alfredo sauce was separated like how cream sauces get when microwaved. They forgot my Caesar salad, and the other pasta I ordered was just flavorless. The cheesecake and tiramisu were very good though. I was really hoping for more considering the reviews, and I've really never been this dissatisfied with a restaurant.
