The food itself isn’t bad—the turkey sandwich I ordered was fine. But I added a side salad for nearly $6, expecting something halfway decent. What I got was a handful of iceberg lettuce, two tomato slices, and a few onion slices. That’s it. I went back in to return it (completely untouched), and they refused to refund me, said it would be a waste of money for them if they took it back and gave me another type of salad. I told her iceberg lettuce for $6 is wasting my money. She said “I’m sorry, my hands are tied.” So I left. I understand the price is listed, but charging that much for what’s basically garnish is crazy.

This place feels like eating at an Italian friend’s house—warm, welcoming, and full of amazing food. The owner is super friendly, the portions are huge, and everything tastes homemade. The pasta is perfection, the flavors are rich, and you’ll probably leave with leftovers. Service is great, too—super chill and attentive. If you love real Italian food, this spot is a must.

We had a great experience here, the food was so good and our server was so sweet. She made our experience that much better. My husband had the manicotti and I had the linguini alla romana.. I have to point our that my noodles were sooo good and light and the shrimps were large and cooked perfectly. Oh, and dont get me started on their garlic knots...👌🏽👌🏽 We WILL be back, we are absolute fans. Thanks for such an awesome experience to our server with the pretty Italian accent...✨️✨️

OMG!!! What an amazing place! The service is wonderful and food is delicious. Wine and soccer ⚽️ make this place a unique destination. Definitely a must try place for families and hungry soccer fans. Tiramisú is to die for 🤤 delicioso!

Vic’s is the only Italian spot in the area we truly love and it’s been consistently great for years. My kids have been eating here since they were little! Mario and Sal went above and beyond catering my son’s graduation party, even making his favorite arancini (not on the menu!) and amazing meatballs. The guests couldn’t stop raving. If you’re dining in and like a kick, the shrimp fradiavolo is a must-try! Grazie, Salvatore e Mario per anni di ottimo cibo!

Google
The food was reasonably priced a couple months ago, comparable to the quality (standard/casual). Now they’ve increased everything 50%+ as if it’s Italian fine dining, while the food is not even close. The service has always been friendly and I like the classic pizzeria atmosphere, no complaints there.

Google
The pasta was very good and our server was kind and made us laugh. The atmosphere is really nice on a week day where it’s slow and you can really enjoy it. The restaurant over all is kind of small but it gives a homey vibe.

Google
We always come here with family, but I wanted to leave a review after I felt horrible for how I saw some customers treat the staff. The staff was being very polite as these rude customers were refusing to pay for anything, and started ganging up on them and didn’t want to pay for a specialty pizza they assumed would be the same price as cheese pizza. We were sitting just behind where this occurred. After the server took off charges for them they then complained about not wanting to tip the sever and we felt so bad because the server was excellent. Not every bad review is as it seems. We love Vic’s!

Yelp
This is a cute and cozy restaurant in City Market. It appears to be family owned and everyone is super friendly. I shared the Vic's salad with my husband to start, and it was lovely. Then I got the chicken Marsala (so nicely done! Super tender chicken, delicious sauce, and some steamed broccoli and squash accompanying!) and my husband chose a special, which was seafood ravioli (also very nicely done, in a cream sauce). Our friends are regulars and they got the lasagna, a calzone and a cannoli- and they loved everything. For fans of Italian food, I highly recommend this spot!

Yelp
Pretty good Italian food, we had lunch there on a Saturday - eggplant parmesan which comes with spaghetti and veal Positano off of the dinner menu.

Yelp
Went here tonight for a SOLO dinner. Food was good but when I got my bill, they had applied a 20% gratuity charge. When I asked the waiter about it, he said after 10pm they charge gratuity because they close the patio at 10pm. That was a load of crap! I literally received my bill at 10:05. Never have I heard of that and I've been to this location multiple times. Felt scammed and I WONT BE BACK.

Yelp
Authentic busy lovely spot service is quick, the flavor and quality of everything we ordered was on the mark I will return

Yelp
food was not fresh or authentic past was over cooked seafood pasta was one of the worst flavors put together on a plate and the chicken parm was stale old meat and reheated like from a deli sandwich like terrible plates

Nick S.

Yelp
This place is a gem. From the minute I walked in to the last bite and sip. The food was absolutely authentic and delicious. I wish I could speak Italian when I was inside there. Thank you everyone there for your kindness and outstanding service. Such a beautiful place with a wonderful ambiance.

Yelp
Vic's is a Raleigh staple of downtown. A small tucked away family-owned classic Italian restaurant that's very casual in its homestyle manner. Outside of the specials everything is very reasonably priced with good sized portions. A lot of people seem to be here for the classics. We walked in early on a Saturday evening and were able to get seated without issue. There's ample seating inside and out. The servers were quick and friendly and we didn't wait long for our food at all. Worth checking out if you want classic Italian food in a laid back atmosphere.

Yelp
I ordered delivery via DoorDash recently from Vic's as I have been trying to find a few new pizza places in the area. I was torn between 3 and 4 stars but could give this a 3.5/5 if Yelp allowed that! The items we ordered were the Vodka Pasta, Veggie Pizza, and Calamari. Let me start by saying I am a sucker for Italian food. Being from NYC and having been to Italy, I know good food, especially Italian food when I come across it. I will rate the Vodka Pasta first, this was pretty good but not the best I have had; I would, however, order it again. It could have been a bit creamier, but the flavor was good. I would have liked to add chicken as a protein but either the restaurant or DoorDash does not give you that option, which is odd. The calamari was mediocre, a bit rubbery and the flavor was just decent. I do like that it arrived hot (lukewarm calamari would have been awkward), and I will say the sauce served with it was delicious. On to the most important part, pizza. this pizza is definitely not Italian style (at least from what I have tried), nor true NYC style. I didn't mind it, but not sure I would order it again. I think it was just slightly bland and could have used a bit more sauce and there wasn't anything special about the dough. It definitely was not BAD pizza by any means, but it was far from the best I have had. All of that mentioned, I would probably order from this spot again to give the pizza and pasta another try. I would try another pasta dish as I did like the Vodka Pasta. If I did decide to order the pizza again, I would probably just get a cheese pizza and add extra sauce if possible, via delivery.

Yelp
Six of us had dinner here on a weeknight. It was good, but not as good as what I've had in the past. Made the mistake of ordering the eggplant parmigiana. Way too much breading. Soggy. Eggplant itself was so thin you couldn't taste it at all. Would not recommend. Husband's pasta dish with sausage & broccoli was okay, nothing exciting, and quite expensive for what it was. Definitely recommend sticking with Pasta Puttanesca. That's what they do best here. They do a decent pizza. Indoor & Outdoor seating. Good old-school Italian restaurant in City Market. Parking is as it is for anything downtown...find what you can. The Red Hat lot is pretty convenient.

Yelp
Chicken Parm Sandwich was great, Amazing Bun, Great Sauce, and tasty cheese. Looking forward to trying more from the menu.

Barry L.

Yelp
Great food but horrible service. Ordered a Cesar salad but it never showed up and neither did the waitress before the entree came out. Mentioned the salad was never delivered, she said I will take it off the bill. Not I am sorry about the mixup or have a dessert one us. Again some of the best Italian I have had but never got to taste the authentic Caesar.

Yelp
Vic's is decorated in an Italian theme and has a 90s feel. The pizza and calzone are great, but the best part is the staff. They are kind and personable. The pianist, who has a large popular repertoire, plays at least on the weekends and is very fun!

Lamont D.

Yelp
They don't miss, everything on the menu hits! The pizzas, manicotti, absolutely everything
google avatar

Yelp
The service was awesome and the pizza was good! The pizza was made fresh and the crust was nice and crispy. We will visit again.

Yelp
I order the penne all vodka to be delivered weekly at this point. Absolutely delicious.

Yelp
My go to for Italian food in Raleigh. 2 soon to be 3 locations. Family run... the best kind. Thank you Longo family for the great food, wine and TLC.

Jeff P.

Yelp
Grub hub was the delivery service, it took 2 hours and the pizza was COLD. It's hard to judge the quality of the pizza based on that, and we didn't eat most of it. The delivery process was a total disaster.

Karen J.

Yelp
We had a reservation for a party of 6, they sat a group of 6 that walked in just ahead of us that did not have a reservation. They proceeded to tell us it will be a 30 minute wait. The manager fixed this and shoved a couple of tables together for us. Waiter came over to take our order, waitress told him it was her table so he moved on, she completely ignored us and when we asked her if she was our waitress she told us the waiter was handling us. No, you called him away. She then came back to take our order (at least 15 minutes after the guy was ready to take our order). Food was really good, but our basket of rolls were burnt. They replaced them when we asked them to do so. I'd like to recommend but honestly, it was kind of a mess. When it was time to check out, they added a 25% gratuity to our bills plus 3% for using a credit card, which seems to be getting more common. An automatic 25% tip was really too much and undeserved. Not sure we'll return despite the food being really good.

Yelp
The restaurant is a cozy spot! You can view the big kitchen, you will be overcome with the smells of the food. You also will be asking your waiter what the delicious food is on the plate going by to the table next to you! Parking is so so The food is excellent The waitstaff was great!

R H.

Yelp
Love the food and atmosphere!! Live piano and fantastic wait staff. Full bar. One of my favorite spots.
google avatar

Mary W.

Yelp
The food was good. There are a bit cold in nature. My server was a very nice lady and she took very good care of me. The ambience was neither here or there but there was a problem. They add 4% to your bill and they say there's a note on the door, but I didn't see one. So the price that you see on the page go ahead and add 4% to that bill. I took pictures to show you.

Michael L.

Yelp
True authentic Italian cuisine. When you first walk in you feel like home. People that work there speak Italian and I love to hear that when you walk into an Italian restaurant. Food speaks for itself. It's a must try. Been there for over 30 years.

A T.

Yelp
Ordered a 14-in pizza with three toppings. Cost $30! Sometimes, $30 for pizza is worth it. I have to say the pizza tasted fantastic however, we only got one small piece of meatball per slice of pizza. So, even though it tasted great, for $30? I won't be back, at least not for the pizza.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a lovely spot in City Market! We enjoyed the outdoor seating area and fast and friendly service. Our pizza was delicious and just as good reheated in the oven the next day.
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
Sweet little place in the downtown area. We had their pepperoni pizza and calamari fra diablo. Good stuff. May not be the best we have ever had but good and hearty. The wait staff are very attentive. May be considered to be over attentive. Asking to take our plates before we were done kind of attentive. I guess not everyone sops up the last of their sauce with pizza crust like we do. ‍

Yelp
We have been going about once a month and really like the food! We like it so much that we just catered an event from there I default to the eggplant just about every time with a side of sausage It's a go to for a reason and every picture tells a story don't it! ?!?!

Sharon F.

Yelp
Huge disappointments Don"t waiste your money Ordered Fettuccine del Re. $20.00. Fettuccine noodles, sweet peas, mushrooms and chicken I received a plate of noodles, bland sauce, 8 thin slices of mushrooms and 10 peas. Stay away

M S.

Yelp
If I could give this place negative stars I would. I ordered a calzone with sun dried tomatoes and basil. First of all most of the calzone was just cheese. When I got to the ingredients the sun dried tomatoes were dried tomatoes that were not even rehydrated they had no flavor and the texture was like eating bark. The basil tasted rotten, like mushy grass. I had food poisoning that night after a long drive home. I had asked for a to go box before I realized that the basil on it was rotten ( that's how long it took me to get to the ingredients) and I left the calzone in the box on the table. The I presume, owner started arguing with me about taking my food with me. I said I didn't like it and I wasn't going to take it with me. He argued with me about what a sun dried tomato is supposed to be as if I am some hick who has never had one before. I said I just want to pay for my food and leave. Finally he backed off and let me and my coworker who I was with leave. He was acting really hostile. I think he thought he was going to push me around. I felt like I was in an episode of kitchen nightmares. this happened a year ago and i finally decided to post a review because that's how bad it was. I still think about that awful experience a year later. Never ever ever eat here. Do yourself a favor, especially if you're on a business trip. Who wants food poisoning when they're driving 3, 4, 5 hours or so.

Milissa L.

Yelp
We found this restaurant and was excited to visit pizza and manicotti and an order of garlic knots all great except no garlic, olive oil on knots just dough balls. When I said something to our server he said we use a little Nope there is NO garlic involved so order plenty of food just not the garlic knots

Yelp
I went to eat at Vic's Italian Restaurant late Saturday afternoon around 4:45pm. I was really looking forward to going since I have always really liked it. Today I received the worst service I have experienced. The older man who was the host who greeted me was very rude and disrespectful. I am hearing impaired and have a hard time hearing in louder public settings. I was trying hard, but it didn't seem to matter to him. I have never felt looked down on for my disability until today at Vic's. If you are the owner, and I think you were, you should be ashamed of how you treated me today. You need to work on respecting those with disabilities. Don't ever look down on anyone. I left out of there feeling horrible. Do you treat everyone this way who is different from you? I don't feel welcome there and I don't know if I will ever come back which is really sad. I don't want it to happen to me again or anyone else. Now if your attitude could be as good as your food, then it would be perfect. I don't like to be negative at all, but I had to speak up and say something to let others know what I experienced here today.

Yelp
Great little gem, delicious food and great service. A must try. I came to visit the are and came to eat here twice with my fam already. Family owned place.

Yelp
You will be singing ALLELUIA when you taste their sauce and pasta. Folks have been talking about Vic's for years and I now know what all the fuss is about. The pizza also looks amazing. You know you're in the right place when the ENTIRE STAFF speaks Italian!! Yum yum yum. {{*.*}}

Yelp
Fresh Fresh Fresh! Great service and ambiance! What a hidden treasure! Everything we eat was homemade and fresh! Wild caught salmon with broccolini yummy. Shrimp and lobster ravioli to die for! Pizza and the best wine you can get in Raleigh had to take a bottle back to Atlanta. Trying to see how I can get them to ship to me. I had no complaints! If you're in the Raleigh area visiting your kid or passing through for work, check Vic's out. I believe there are two location. But my favorite one is the mom and pop one. It's cute and quaint.
google avatar

Yelp
Very original ambience and good options. Lasagna was great. Veil was a bit tough though.

Yelp
Since we moved to Raleigh we couldn't find our go to spot for some good Italian food. That is until today. We were in the area and were looking for a spot to have some lunch. We rounds Vic's and the pictures sold it for us. Soon as you walk in you can feel that very welcoming atmosphere, right of the bat you could tell it's a family owned business. The staff was super friendly and nice. We got a pie for the kids, I got the Penne Micheal, and my hubby got the Chicken Parm, mussels, and tiramisu. The food was AMAZING! Very flavorful and very generous with the portions. Everything was just out of this world. We will definitely be coming here from now on. We fell in love with the place. Highly recommend Vic's for some good food.

Yelp
Great menu breath & service - hence, I recommend you experience this for yourself. Times a wastin!

Yelp
Disappointed!! I ordered a 14" Pizza Margarita which cost me $29 and change. Expensive, right? I pick up pizza and thought honestly that I didn't need a receipt. And refused it. I bring it home, and it was a plane cheese pizza not a Margarita. Be warned this place charges you for fresh mozzarella so you pay through the nose and duplicitously switch it out for plain cheese. Shame on you Vic's. And that Brooklyn crust they'd re so proud of was doughy and not properly cooked. What a waste of $30, is a 18% tip. Ughhh. Fool me once. Never again. The only Pizza I will ever buy anymore is Pizza Box. The guy is a family business and honest as they come. He was late by 20 minutes and so owner gave me a second pizza of same order to say he was sorry. Go to Pizza Box everyone. Skip Vic's. I would... and I wasted my money. When I called they didn't pick up and it said mailbox was full ... and I couldn't get through. So I called the other location oh Vic's and gave them an earful. Shame on you Vic's. shame on your people who charge more and cheat your patrons.

Kenneth J.

Yelp
Our "go to" place on Friday night. Pizza and specials are great. They always "double cut" the pizza for our special needs son. They greet hm by name. Wonderful staff and wonderful food.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped in for dinner the other day. It was a fantastic fall evening so we ate outside. We got in early so it was very quiet. We ordered a Chicken Parm and a Veggie Pizza. My Chicken Parm was flooded with sauce. Fortunately I like it that way. My wife would have struggled with it. The food was good. Not great but satisfying. They got busier as we finished our meal. Our waitress, a young woman, was working so hard trying to handle the dine in and takeout business. We patiently waited for our check but we had to get to a concert so I eventually went in to pay. The young woman was working so hard that I couldn't get her attention. Another woman approached me with some attitude as if I was the problem and then made the young woman process the charge. This other woman could have handled it better. I'd go back if in the area and didn't have other options but there wasn't anything compelling me to get back.

Yelp
Bit pricey, but their vodka creme penne is the best Italian food I've ever had at a restaurant. Serving sizes are slightly on the large side, but probably average when it comes to Italian restaurants.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Delicious Italian food. I had the Shrimp and Gnocchi with Zucchini and Summer squash. Wonderful and perfect.
google avatar

Karen P.

Yelp
Good, I like the atmosphere. Lasagna is very good, but not the BEST I have ever eaten. Sauce was very good. I went there with my workgroup for lunch and I think the portions at lunch are the same size as the portions they would serve for dinner (HUGE). Overall an enjoyable experience!
google avatar

Naida K.

Yelp
The food is good. I've been here twice and the first time was a quiet weekday afternoon and it was nice, the owner is a friendly guy. BUT my second visit left a bad taste in my mouth. Firstly they have their office right in the dining area which is unprofessional and I was seated at a table right beside it. I ordered pizza and was using the Parmesan shaker, and as I do in every Italian restaurant I unscrewed the top off bc I didn't want to spend 5 minutes putting parm on my pizza. As I was almost finished the guy sitting at the desk next to me reprimanded me for unscrewing the top which was rude and quite frankly pointless since I had already done it. He should have just let me enjoy my food. Maybe it's not the best restaurant etiquette on my behalf but I did not appreciate being scolded like a child for using what he probably felt was too much Parmesan lol. Next issue, I ordered a Hawaiian pizza and asked to substitute the ham for bacon, server did not mention this being a problem. When I got my check however, they up charged me $5 as a create your own. When I mentioned it to the server she responded by telling me that they don't do substitutions which she did not mention to me when I ordered. I told her if I had known this I would have just stuck with the ham and she just stared at me. She should have just said sorry and fixed the bill. I left feeling uncomfortable and for that reason I won't be returning.

Yelp
The food and service is excellent! The manager Daniel is always welcoming. The menu covers all of the traditional Italian dishes and the specials are fantastic. Plenty of seating. This is our favorite Italian go-to restaurant!
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice service, and tasty food. Only problem is someone from our table got a Alfredo kids meal and was charged an adult size? Like what.. charged 18 dollars and asked for an 8 dollar meal. Overall the food was good but pretty pricy. 5 people $132 plus tip.

Ann M.

Yelp
Love this place. The food is good and the portions are huge. The staff was friendly and attentive. We will be returning next time we are in Raleigh.
google avatar

Yelp
impeccable service and amazing italian food. we got the white pizza and the tiramisu, which i highly recommend trying for dessert.

Yelp
The food there is amazing, and the ambiance is great. The parmigiana is perfect, and if you sit outside on a warm night it's a great date spot.

Yelp
Food and service were excellent. I got the one penne alla vodka, it was delicious. Portions are massive. I look forward to going back again!
