Victoria Falls Safari Lodge | Best places to stay in Victoria Falls Town

"This upmarket but affordable lodge on the outskirts of town feels surprisingly intimate, thanks to the private balconies and colourful African decor. Within easy reach of the Falls, yet far from the tourist hubbub, it has a relaxing, slow-paced feel. The convivial bar area with its bushveld views is one of the best sundowner spots in town, and there are two good restaurants on site. It offers great value and runs a regular shuttle to the Falls, with most rooms having splendid views of the waterhole and national park. " - Richard Holmes

A beautiful place staffed by very friendly people. We enjoyed our three night stay there. Food and wine very good. My daughter and I are vegetarian and there were many excellent options. The falls themselves are stunning and we had an excellent tour guide. The rooms all looked out over a water hole which was frequented by dozens, if not hundreds of very large vultures of many varieties. The water hole was visited by elephants at night but it was hard to see them as they went for a swim. Their reflections in the water looked like miniature ancient Viking ships with turned up ends to me.

This lodge is located inside the Victoria Falls National Park and surrounded by the savanna with visits by wild animals. One evening, an elephant came by near the lodge to eat leaves and branches. It was such a treat! I saw zebras, kudus, impalas, vultures etc. Sunset we saw from the veranda of our room was exceptionally beautiful. I strongly recommend this lodge.

This hotel is a worthy destination in itself and easily meets Western 5 star standards. Everything is Zen, including the amiable, highly professional staff who go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. All the activities we booked ran smoothly, with timing respected and explanations delivered with patience and grace. The free Vulture Culture experience was impressive. Free shuttle down town. A beautiful suite in the Club section entitles you to complimentary cocktails and nibbles overlooking the sun setting behind the stunning African savanna. When night falls, the balcony offers stargazing beneath the Milky Way, the Southern Cross and shooting stars. Spotlessly clean with a free laundry service in the Club section, there were some thatchers redoing the laundry room roof when we were there. Cheeky monkeys and warthogs wander around the grounds. The food in the hotel's restaurants is appetising and the staff serenade the guests with African harmonies as they eat. Any quibbles? For me, I prefer a softer mattress and the shower needs a hose. Some people also felt there should have been TVs in the rooms, but surely the scenery beats any programme you may wish to watch. Overall probably the best holiday we've had. Top marks.

A terrific three day stay. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. Food was good say both two vegetarians and three carnivores! All to be near the watering hole, where elephants dropped by each night at sunset... Of course water is scarce in August!

I brought my mother to this amazing property as part of her 82nd birthday trip to southern Africa. It was everything we'd hoped for and more! The lovely restaurant and lounge area has a perfect view of the watering hole where you might spot a herd of elephants. Everything was absolutely seamless staying here. From airport pickup to our various excursions, we had an amazing time and didn't have to worry about any details. The staff is amazing and the food is fresh and delicious. I definitely recommend this property!

The two-bedroom suite offers comfortable and pleasant accommodation. The rooms are clean, and staff members provide excellent service throughout the stay. We were treated to stunning views of animals gathering at the waterhole during the evening and nighttime hours.

Had the privilege of staying at the Safari Club. Clean, modern, luxurious, intimate. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food at the restaurant was excellent. Johnblack at lunch was definitely a standout staff member. As an animal lover, I enjoyed looking at the wildlife come to the water hole and encountering them on the grounds. Felt very safe. Boma dinner- the food was a unique experience, especially loved the Bream; the show was sometimes a little too touristy for my taste. Would definitely recommend this establishment. Oh btw, ask for any iron in advance if you need it.

The Victoria Safari Club is like an oasis, beautifully located and very quiet. The rooms are very comfortable and decorated to a high standard. The minibar was filled daily with the guest's preferred drinks :-) The staff goes above and beyond to accommodate the wishes of every single guest and we felt spoilt and so well looked after. The food is delicious and the complimentary Happy Hour drinks and nibbles were a great treat. A complimentary bus is available to go to the Falls and every single staff member - from the bus drivers, cleaning staff, reception and kitchen - gives their absolute best to make it an unforgettable stay. We will certainly come back to the Club and thanks to the entire team!
