Really good food!! Every dish was superbly delicious. We emptied them in no time. Loved the plantains. Waiters were quite friendly and energetic. Restroom was clean. Pricing was fine. Music of moderate volume. Decor was cute

Continuing my birthday party at one of my very favorite Cuban restaurants. This place is the real deal. My croquettes were savory, creamy and crispy. My mojito was like liquid candy. My paella is what a paella should be, a taste of the ocean while sitting in Manhattan. This is and has been one of my very favorite places for authentic Cuban food. A must do on anyone’s list.

I'd heard about Victor's but could never go. So, on a Friday, my husband and I went. The host was friendly and seated us quickly, although we did not have a reservation. Our waiter was patient and engaging as this was our first visit. I had the encrusted snapper and my husband had chicken. We ordered drinks and I liked that the Mojito didn't have a strong alcohol flavor (a sign that it was mixed well). There was a family at the next table and the dad had oxtails. His food looked so good that I took a picture. The downside was that we mixed up my desert order so I had to send it back for the correct item (it was still missing the coco ice cream). The flan de huevo was basic. Each table receives white rice and black beans. I prefer my black beans more seasoned. Then there was the cost. For gaucamole, 2 entrees, 2 cocktails, 1 bottle of water for the table, and one dessert, it cost about $200 (including tax and tip). Victor's will be a treat because weekly would be over $800 a month for two people.

Victor’s Cafe located in the theater district is Outstanding! The food is exquisite, atmosphere can be both energetic and tranquil, service is impeccable. It’s exactly what you need when enjoying their amazing entrees and appetizers. Bonus they can accommodate large parties

What a treat: I hardly ever give 5 stars, but this was deserved. food is full of flavor, well presented, in perfect portions and hot! (why do restaurants serve cold?) Service was attentive and quick without rushing (and I love the no-touch credit card process) The multiple levels in the backroom keep the table-to-table noise way down. not laden down with oils or harsh spices, the flavor depth is subtle, discoverable, almost fun. We enjoyed it so much we ordered dessert! (yes the appetizer special is a good choice for a group, but be careful not to fill up before the rest of the meal)

Victor’s Cuban Cuisine offers an exceptional dining experience rooted in the rich tapestry of Cuban flavors. Starting with the Empanadas de Pollo, a perfect balance of flaky pastry and braised all-natural chicken, each bite was a delightful mix of warmth and savory goodness. The Pollo Campestre, slow-roasted in a hearty wine reduction with potatoes and carrots, provided comforting, homestyle flavors, while the Pollo Manigua, Cuban adobo roasted chicken breast served with sweet potato purée and a fresh watercress salad, was tender and flavorful, elevated by the mojo vinaigrette. The Fried Sweet Plantains were the ideal side, sweet and perfectly caramelized. Paired with the traditional Black Beans and Rice, the meal felt authentically Cuban, delivering the soul of the island in every bite. The Havana Cocktail and Mojito Clasico were refreshing, embodying the vibrant essence of Cuban culture with each sip. Victor’s dedication to weaving together Spanish, African, and Caribbean culinary traditions was evident throughout. Restaurant captain and our server, Armando Contolapiedra, truly made the service fly, ensuring a timely yet personalized dining experience that allowed us to comfortably make our Broadway show. His impeccable stewardship added an incredible touch to our experience, leaving us eager to return.

The food was amazing!! Our server was attentive can't wait to return to try other dishes.

Lechon Asado was excellent. Moist, plentiful and tasty. Lechon means baby pig, so that kinda scared me, but I couldn't really tell the difference between peril and this. They accommodated my "no cilantro " request (because it tastes like soap to me). Chose to accompany the pork with the seasonal vegetable option which came out as a sizzling cast iron of broccoli, Brussel sprouts, carrots, onions, mushroom and peppers. We'll worth it. Overall cost very reasonable. Don't drink but the alcoholic menu seemed extensive with lots of named choices on the cocktail menu.

Always a must stop when I am in Manhattan... and so far (with many opportunities) it has never disappointed me! Traditional Cuban dishes - Roma viejo, churrasco steak with chimichurri sauce, black beans and rice, sweet plantains - are delicious... The mojitos??? Maybe the best I've had... definitely! So... until I can make it to Havana, Victor's Cafe will be my favorite restaurant for Cuban food.

I recently celebrated my birthday with a ladies Sunday brunch at Victor's Cafe. I had been there in the recent past, so I was confident that the atmosphere, food, and service would be good. I invited 8 girlfriends plus myself and I made sure to book it for after the theater matinee rush (2pm). Being that Victor's has a bar/lounge area, it's the perfect place to gather and have a cocktail or three before heading into the beautiful dining room. A few of my friends who were familiar with Victor's were nostalgic about it, and those who weren't familiar were impressed with the décor and sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. We all ordered different dishes, a few appetizers to share, and more cocktails, of course. Everyone was impressed with the delicious authentic Cuban food and the attentive service. Victor's Cafe has been around for over 60 years for good reason - they know what they're doing.

Victor's never disappoints. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. Our server, Armando, is a true professional; he is attentive and very amicable. The ambience is elegant but casual at the same time. We love it there!

Ambiance is upscale. Stopped in before a show at Gershwin theater. Great service and our server was very cognizant of the show time. Get the plantains! I've never been one who likes plantains but Victor's has converted me. The texture of them was perfection. A lovely chewy fried exterior with caramelized edges and the soft inside was to die for. We also got the Ropa vieja and split the entree since we weren't that hungry. Beans were excellent. Definitely recommend and will be back next time I'm in town.

We had lunch at Victor's Cafe before going to a show nearby. We arrived around 11:50 and placed our order soon after. A couple of appetizers and three main dishes. The appetizers arrived pretty soon and were very good. After finishing these around 12:20, we were there waiting for the main dishes for a long time. Despite asking people who work there several times and people who arrived after us got their dishes, we were still waiting. We finally had enough and don's miss our show and just told the sever, if it's not ready, we are leaving. And then he said everything is ready in 2 minutes, so we got our main dishes around 1:00pm. The food was good, but the service is really pretty bad.

My favorite restaurant. I grew up coming here with my Cuban relatives. The food is definitely authentic. It's not the most expensive, but there are cheaper options of good value, if that's a concern--especially on the Jersey side. However, if in the City and craving authentic Cuban cuisine, this is the place for you! Ask for my pal, Armando. He's the best. Always takes phenomenal care of us!!! Even gives us off-the-menu items/specials. A delight. The ambiance is wonderful. Perfect for a romantic date night (right by Times Squage, so a stroll downtown afterwards is a plus), a professional meal, a family reunion, or if celebrating a special occasion like a birthday. P.S. The men's restroom has some amazingly cool things framed.

Came to this great Cuban restaurant before attending a matinee showing of Cabaret on Broadway and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere was great, had a real Cuban feel and the service was prompt and attentive. As for the food, also great. After ordering some delicious Red Sangria, we started off with the Harina De Maiz Tierno Con Camarones appetizer, Shrimp in Creamy Polenta which was delicious. The polenta was flavorful and the shrimp was lightly battered. My only complaint might be they could have given you one more. For our mains, my wife went with the Cuban Eggs Benedict, two Cuban eggs over shredded skirt steak on top of a toasted baguette drizzled with Hollandaise sauce and it was excellent. I went with the Ropa Vieja which is the house speciality, slow cooked and pulled braised prime hanger steak in a pepper sauce and laced with garlic, tomatoes and onions. Served with a side of rice and beans this dish was on point, the meat was so tender and flavorful, one of the best I've tried. For dessert our waiter Victor (not the owner ) suggested we go with the Guayabitas De Maria, warm guava cobbler with vanilla gelato and he was on the mark, it was delicious. This is definitely an excellent choice if you're looking for some good food and drinks before or after a Broadway show.

Sunday night 6:30-8:15 and most tables were surprisingly unoccupied (for a well-known Cuban restaurant). Classy atmosphere upstairs and photo-worthy autographed photos downstairs near the bathrooms. Food ran from good-better-best, and all dishes were nicely presented. Some drinks (sangria, mojito, etc.) looked better than they tasted and were overpriced. Service was attentive. The hanger steaks ("ropa vieja") were served warm, not hot, and ditto for the shrimp dish, which was sent back twice and was ultimately a do-over ... third time was the charm. I was full by the time everyone else enjoyed dessert. The guacamole dip and chips were exceptional, but when we needed more chips, they asked for $8.00 (which we declined).

I loved the brunch menu. The dining room was a hushed oasis in the theater district. I had an arroz frito--so comforting, my friends --the salmon ceviche and Cubano sandwiches. Our server--such a nice man from Argentina--only mentioning that so he know we appreciated him.

I chose Victor's Cafe for this summer's Restaurant Week and it was a great choice. Victor's is one of my favorite restaurants and the Restaurant Week lunch ($30/pp) selections were exceptional. My Coconut Mojito was incredible. A work of art and highly recommended. Each selection was delicious, thoroughly enjoyed, and we were filled to the gills after the meal. Our appetizers were: Croquetas Coral (Berkshire ham croquettes, Victor's tomato-cachucha pepper sauce), Harina con Camarones (Creamy corn grits with shrimp). Our entrees were: Pechuga de Pollo a la Parrilla (Grilled chicken breast, field greens, and mango vinaigrette). Plato de Vegetales (Sautéed mushrooms, broccoli, cipollini onions, mixed peppers, side of yuca, sweet plantains, and white rice). Our flan dessert was dreamingly creamy, the perfect amount of sweetness, and I wish it was the size of a nine inch cake. I cannot recommend Victor's Cafe, enough. Don't hesitate to visit and enjoy their lunch and/or dinner Restaurant Week menus and the delightful ambiance.

If I could give this place more than 5 star rating. I would . We were visiting New York for Christmas. The food was everything I opted for the steak with chimichurri. It was cooked perfectly. The chimichurri sauce was subtle and perfect complement to the steak . My friend chose the filet fish delicious. I can't say which I loved better. This was all served with white rice and black beans. The best black beans I ever had. The waiter was extremely attentive! I strongly recommend this place , the next time I'm in New York I will definitely come back here again ! Beautiful place great staff ..

This place is super cozy with warm accommodating service from the bartender, quality food, a wonderful vocalist and guitarist. I enjoyed some prosecco and I got the snapper ceviche very good!! Salut!!

Great pre theater location. Food is amazing but service a but slow considering people need to go to the theater. But worth the wait. We had red sangria a must. So good. Ropa vieja, guacamole n cod fritters. Then fir desert churros. So good. Every food that was passing by us looked so good. The Cubano sandwich looked good. The oxtail also looked good. Definitely give this place a try. Give yrself enough time if you're going to the theater after.

Spotted Victor's during an Uber ride and it became the choice of dinner after a Broadway show. Restaurant roulette and it was a pleasant experience! Our waiter Armando was pleasant and personable and made the experience fun. We had the delicious ropa vieja and skirt steak that hit every taste bud. So flavorful and delicious that left us longing for more. To top off the meal we had to go with the tres leches. The best I ever had (and I've tried many). Certainly look forward to coming back and trying more of their food.

If I could give this place more than a 5-star rating, I would. We were visiting New York City, and I had to rely on my fellow Yelpers for restaurant suggestions. That brought me to Victor's! I was not disappointed. I'll start with the ambiance. The restaurant was dimly lit, creating a very romantic feeling. The tables were nicely spaced, making it feel manageable, even though it was a busy Sunday night. The food was everything! I opted for the Churrasco con Chimichurri. It was cooked perfectly. The chimichurri sauce was subtle and the perfect compliment to the steak. My husband chose the Robo Encendido Con Fufu De Platanos and he gave me a little taste. I can't say which I loved better. (Notice I said LOVED not liked) This was all served with white rice and black beans. The only bad thing I have to say about this place is that our waiter could have been more attentive. It may be because our table was on the edge of his service area, but he often forgot to come by and check in with us. He gave us the dessert menu at the same time as our neighboring table got theirs, and they ordered dessert and were almost done with it before he came back to see if we wanted to order any. We said no as we had to get to our Broadway show.

What a disappointment. When we entered for lunch, the restaurant was empty and we should have seen this as a warning. We tried it anyways. The cost was high, portions small, and the server (the Colombian guy) was unbelievably impolite and unprofessional. Cuban food can be delicious, and Cuban atmosphere fun, but not here.

We went in at 1030 for a drink at the bar and Ceasar was very accommodating. The ambiance was very Cuban. We had some appetizers with our drinks and were so delicious.

My husband and I passed by this restaurant while going to the Neil Simon Theater for MJ the Musical (a must see). We've been to Gallagher's before & don't know how we missed this gem. They have Latin jazz Friday & Saturday @ 5:30, but I also overheard the bartender talking to the musicians & they are there other days of the week also. When we got there Saturday around 6 it was very crowded & they were only seating in the bar, 1st come, 1st serve. Luckily, there was space available at the bar. It was VERY busy & active around that time. Around 7:30 it cleared out as people likely headed to the shows. The bartender said it would be busy again after the shows let out so plan accordingly. I started with the red sangria. It was good. I enjoyed the guava in it as much as the beverage itself lol. We had the chicken empanadas to start. Despite the picture, they actually come with 3, but my greedy husband took 1 off the plate before I could get the picture . They were flavorful & full of meat. For dinner, I wanted the snapper, but they were out. They had branzino, which I like, but they weren't able to prepare it like the snapper. I ordered the duo of the ponle ropa a la vaca, which comes with white rice & black beans; everything was good! My favorite was the vaca, the shredded fried beef, but the ropa was the best flavor I've had of many a Cuban restaurant around the country. It has a slightly sweet flavor, but was well seasoned. The occasional crispy pieces of the well seasoned shredded beef was a nice texture contradiction that was very nice. The black beans were also very good. My husband ordered the roast pork and said it was good also. He had his w/ moros & liked it all. We finished w/ the tres leches. I was a little hesitant to order because of the toasted meringue on top, but I'm SO glad I ordered it. The meringue adds an additional flavor profile & the texture of it makes you wanna lick it all off the spoon. I did just that lol. The cake is just the right texture and sweetness. I'd definitely return again. I don't know how we've overlooked this gem in the last 20+ yrs of frequenting NYC, but we will definitely be back again & again as long as the food, service, & ambience remain the same. Service at the bar was very good. Ambience around 6ish was bustling, but had lowered lights. The live Latin jazz was very good. I didn't use the restroom so I can't comment on its cleanliness, but the bar area was clean. I'd highly recommend Victor's Cafe.

Victor's Cafe was nothing special but there was nothing too bad about it either. The service was good and everyone was helpful. The decor is inviting and made for a very cool atmosphere. We went on a Sunday night and it was not too busy so it might not be too hard to walk in and get a table. It was also easy to get a same-day reservation at this restaurant. We found that the appetizers were a bit mediocre, but the main dishes were pretty tasty. I probably would not return to this restaurant, but this is a decent option in the area if you are around and are looking for a decent bite.

The rice in the arroz con pollo was mushy. I asked for firm rice but they said this was the type of rice that comes with the arroz con pollo. But the waiter was very accommodating and gave me a side of white rice which was cooked to my liking. The chicken empanadas as an appetizer come with three empanadas. They are baked, not fried. The service was amazing and the ambiance is cute. They had the lights dim, candle on the table, Christmas lights, and music playing low.

Ropa Vieja was very rich and savory, while Vaca Frita al Mojo Agrio had a wonderful texture slightly acidic. Highly recommend having both to sample for the perfect balance. Portions look small but very filling! Service was great, super friendly staff. A hustling establishment with top-notch authentic Cuban food. Can't wait to return!

This restaurant poses as one of the best Cuban restauranta in NYC but it is far from that. After paying $90 for two entrees we were still hungry. We had to go for another lunch elsewhere. We came foe lunch and it was empty. The server (Colombian) gave us a smirk, refused to issue a proper invoice with tax exemption and said that the manager was not present, provided weak service, and then asked for tip, and after getting 18% tip, gave us a receipt asking for extra tip on the top of tip.

I have been here several times for dinner but we came for lunch and enjoyed it. I ordered the salmon which was delicious with vegetables. The tostones as an appetizer with pork was amazing. If you're a vegetarian unfortunately the choices are slim. The one vegan option was a bust. It was a compilation of veggies with white rice. The greens were disappointing as they seemed unwashed and unseasoned. The black beans which came on the side was flavorful but seemed to have a sweetness to it The menu could use more vegan options. For dessert the chocolate flan and Cuban coffee was a hit. Service was quick and the restaurant has a Caribbean decor in NYC.

Looking for a place near Times Square with delicious Cuban cuisine, exceptional service and tons of atmosphere? Stop here at Victors. We went as a group of 4 on a Thursday afternoon. Got seated immediately with no reservations but I would highly suggest reservations during peak days/times. You'll feel the old world charm with the classy decor, and they manage to make it so intimate! Everything on the menu looked amazing I got the vegetable paella- huge portion and so tasty! My friends ordered the spicy shrimp which comes over a bed of yam. I had to taste it and wow! That sauce. We also ordered the guacamole and extra chips- it also comes with plantain chips. So good! The wait staff was so attentive. The only issue we faced is that the restrooms are downstairs so not fully accessible. I will definitely go back!

Good Cuban food in theatre district that provides authentic grub and atmosphere. Based on numerous visits the food and service are always consistent. Allow ample time, and give the mojito a try as ordering one -or two- has become routine.

Came here before a broadway show. The decor is nice. Though it felt super hot and humid in the restaraunt. I ordered the ropa vieja and it was okay. The meat was cooked well and tender I just wasn't crazy about the flavor. I had better ropa vieja before. The rice was very sticky and good. And the beans were a little too soupy for me. There was a little problem ordering gluten free, or rather confusion. There were certain things that were gluten free that my friend was trying to order and even though it says gluten free on the menu it turns out you have to ask for it the gluten free way and be very clear. The waiter seemed to not really understand she had a gluten allergy. It took awhile for him to get that there can't be gluten in her dish. Though the wait staff is pretty professional and will change out your utensils and refill your water regularly. There is even an attendant in the woman's restroom. The drinks were strong and delicious. I had the coconut mojito and it was very sweet. I did get a headache from it. The yucca fries I would pass on next time. Bland and no flavor. The sweet plantains were very good, but I never had a bad sweet plantain. Overall okay experience. Food is fine nothing special and it is pricey for portion size.

This was my first visit to a Cuban restaurant. It was very good. We shared a pitcher of the red Cuban Sangria. It was fruity and tasty. We also shared the guacamole with root chips. I really enjoyed it. I had the 3 course tasting menu with the salad (Field greens, hearts of palm, Mandarin slices, Manchego cheese, champagne vinaigrette), ropa vieja ((Victor's house specialty - Slowly braised and pulled Grass-Fed Angus Beef skirt steak in garlic, tomato, onion, pepper sauce) and the flan. I wasn't expecting the beef to be shredded, but it was moist and flavorful. I also tasted my friend's salmon ceviche and her lechon Assado (Traditional roast pig marinated 24 hours, slowly roasted overnight in Cuban style mojo, garlic mojo yucca). They were both also good. I did not find the pork as flavorful as my beef, but it was extremely tender.

Everything was really good. We got there at five and it was empty. Our waiter at this point was fantastic. By 5:30 the place was packed with not a spot to sit. Our waiter at this point struggled a bit but everything was still well worth it. We started with the batolito and bacalao fritters which were amazing. My mom and I both ordered wine braised oxtails. They were AMAZING. Definitely recommend these on the menu!

This Cuban restaurant/bar was our last-minute choice this evening because of the long lines at our first pick which didn't take reservations, but we received Immediate seating on a summer weeknight pre-theater. The restaurant has beautiful decor, nicely upholstered chairs, art adorning the walls, faux plants everywhere, ivy hanging from the ceiling, pretty chandeliers. We were seated next to a lovely potted tree. Service was excellent, they immediately came to take our drink orders, red sangria and blueberry muddle mocktail. The sangria was full of fruit including guava and oranges. We ordered from the summer restaurant menu, salad with baby greens, hearts of palm, almonds, Manchego cheese and oranges; followed by salmon with polenta, white rice and black beans and Lechon Asado with chicharrónes, mixed red rice & black beans and yucca. My mixed red rice and beans was exquisitely spiced. For dessert, flan and rice pudding. Everything was flavorful and a good portion in that I had to take some home, I was happy to have leftovers. The only thing I wished was better is that the pork had more of a garlic flavor or mojo at the table for dipping. I noticed they had a really nice sounding vegan entree which would be good for my vegetarian friend and many other good choices. They were very busy, yet I was still able to converse with my friend and the noise level didn't give me trouble as it often does because I am wearing hearing aids. The door is accessible, but the bathroom unfortunately is not and down steep flights of stairs, but they have an agreement with the bar next door for patrons to use their first-floor bathroom. They have live Cuban jazz music on the weekends and Wednesday nights after 5:30. Would definitely recommend and I will love to return.

Nice atmosphere. Good location in Times Square. Across the street from Cabaret. The waiter was sullen, the food was just ok. It was described well, but lacked execution. Service was timely, not too fast, not too slow. I don't think I am going back.

I Had dinner with a friend at Victor's last night. The guacamole was super tasty and the presentation was on point, but the portion was a bit too small. Drinks were great as well as the atmosphere. Our server Jesus was very attentive and friendly. I will definitely visit Victor's again.

This was our first time at Victor's and it was an amazing experience! The service was top notch. Our server, Jesus was kind and gave us great recommendations. We ordered 3 appetizers, the sampler, guacamole, and tostones with pork. They were all delicious. The decor is beautiful and makes you feel like you aren't in NYC. We will definitely be back!

We had a really good time at Victor's. It is a huge place, for theatre dinners, at first I thought it would be disappointing, but no. Service is impeccable, ambiance is bubbly and the food was great. I really enjoyed my shrimps, Camarones Enchilados, and the black beans with rice. I tasted also a bit of the tapas served to share of my friends, quesadillas. All good!

Ate brunch here and was surprised to find out it was still Restaurant Week in NYC. In addition to the regular brunch menu, they offered a prix fixe menu which included 3 courses for $30 (alcohol not included). I always like to try multiple dishes when I am visiting a new restaurant so prix fixe dining was the best option. Considering the price, this was a steal for NYC dining. Food was good with the Cuban Eggs Benedict being a stand out entree choice. This dish was a spin on the traditional dish with Ropa Vieja in place of the meat. The meat was well seasoned and super tender. My reservation occurred pre-theater matinee time. The restaurant was crowded when I arrived. Noise level was a bit high for my liking but considering the amount of customers and the timing it was acceptable. Serving staff was polite and efficient getting the customers fed and out the door in a reasonable amount of time to get to the theater. Overall, I would recommend for lunch. A reservation is required. Location is good if looking for a bite to eat before a Saturday matinee.

Came for restaurant week dinner and had a nice meal. The restaurant is pretty big and nicely decorated, just a little loud. People with us ordered the coconut mojito and loved it. As restaurant week meals go, this one was very good and a good deal (3 large courses for $45)! They give their usual portion sizes (alot of places do much smaller plates) and they offer their regular menu items (as opposed to ones they invented just for restaurant week). I had the ham croquettes to start, the lechon for my entree and the rice pudding for dessert. The croquettes were surprisingly good (5-6 finger size croquettes), very flavorful, not oily even though they were fried, and not dry at all. I did not think the dipping sauce (similar to a salsa) really went with them, but it was a great appetizer and I would order it again. The lechon was very tasty, the rice was flavorful and the yuca was a nice addition. The rice pudding was served in a medium sized glass (bigger serving than expected) and was enjoyable. Definitely would recommend for restaurant week!

The ambience at Victor is always great. Service was good and prompt. The guac with yucca chips was delish. The best part....the coconut mojito!!

We found this place while waiting for the Neil Simon theater to open for the Michael Jackson broadway show. The waiter informed us everything is made from scratch but still put a rush on the dishes while we ordered drinks and empanadas appetizer. Everything was flavored well and satisfying that we had to order another helping for my kids. They even made the best chocolate milk. Within 15 minutes our Pan fried Hanger steak and pan seared Atlantic salmon were served. The steak was well flavored as it was pan fried in a Seville orange mojito. Impressively intelligent. The Pan Seared Atlantic salmon had an amazing Cuban polenta. We even had time for desert which was the expresso flan. The best flan I've ever had. It was our first time trying Cuban food and Victor's cafe made our first memorable. Def give this a shot when attending a broadway show.

Visited Victor's Café on the last Sunday of NYC Restaurant Week and I was astonished by the mind blowing customer service. Our waiter's name was also Victor, and he made our brunch so wonderful, with his magnificent manners and attention. The fixed menu was marvelous and so exquisite. We had 3 courses and there were NO complaints about anything. I started with the Empanadas, my boyfriend had the Croquetas, then we both chose the Cuban Eggs Benedict and when we were done they proceeded to bring our desserts and asked if we wanted coffee or anything else. I, of course, had a cuban coffee, my boyfriend had a cappuccino. Our visit to this restaurant was beyond perfection and we definitely wish to come back and try more menu items!!! PS: Shootout to the restaurant owner or manager, they are a "Cuban" restaurant and I loved hearing every team member speaking Spanish at some point. Loved it!!!!

I came here on my birthday before seeing MJ the musical on broadway. I am so happy I came here!! The most delicious Ropa Vieja I have ever had! The service was so attentive and fast, they even gave me a birthday card which I thought was a nice touch! I crave to come back here for their Ropa Vieja all the time!

Although I found the food here tasty, most other stuff was lacking. The employees seemed like they would rather be anywhere else. The hostess only stared daggers, wordlessly leading us to a table. For such a beautiful space, you don't experience an ounce of friendliness, you're simply a body taking up space. The menu uses words like "entree" where in reality you're getting a tapas-sized plate. Expect that each person will need to order an appetizer and an "entree" to feel full - and this is coming from a person that eats little and almost always takes home leftovers from restaurants. It is too bad that this place was so disappointing, as I had been looking forward to trying it. I did find the food to be delicious - ropa vieja was solid, and the ceviche was tasty, although light on fish and heavy on mango. Alas unfriendly service, messed up orders, and minuscule portion sizes for sky high prices get points taken off.

Made a reservation and came here for dinner last night with my husband and we had a great evening. The ambiance is nice-lots of greenery, low lighting, and they were busy. We started with classic mojitos, which were delicious and so fresh. We then got both the red and white sangrias, which were kind of like a rum punch topped with wine-really enjoyed those too. To eat, we got the ceviche (classic version) and it was tasty, small portion but very fresh and flavorful, no fishy aftertaste. We wish it had come with crackers or plantains to scoop it up. We got the tostones con mason as de puerco which were these huge fried plantains topped with big chunks of crispy pork-very tasty. We also got the Havana guacamole (would order extra chips, or the tropical chips to go with it-which was a huge basket of thin crispy plantain chips and a side of yummy red salsa). For dessert, we got the churros (perfectly fried crispy mini churros served with chocolate, caramel, and dulce de leche-delicious sweet ending to our meal!). We got a regular espresso, cafe Cubano (sweetened espresso), and carajillo (alcoholic espresso, with brandy I believe - very strong but good). Overall highly recommend this place for awesome Cuban food, nice evening ambiance, and impeccable service. Would come back!

Was in the city to see the Michael Jackson musical. This place is next door, so we tried it at random. It's a decent size, extending pretty far back. Very dimly lit for ambiance, staff is expedient & attentive, even thought they were busy. It's the city, so I have nothing to say about parking, LOL. Now the food, one word....UNIMPRESSIVE! I had the Cuban sandwich, & while I know it's hard to top a Cubano from a bodega, this was....Ok. Nothing to be impressed by. My Wife's review of her salmon was "Ehh, it's edible." The drinks, sent them back THREE times. They all tasted horrible, like the person at the bar wasn't a bartender, but a general employee filling in and making an attempt at bartending. They did take them off the bill, so points for that. Plus the whole experience was downgraded by the fact that they sat us next to a group of people who had one Woman who could not stop coughing. In this day & age if you're coughing like that....stay the hell home. Aside from that being beyond their control, I would not come back here. Just not worth the trip.

what a delight! we went here before a show & had a rememberable experience. we stumbled across some cuban jazz!! the environment was classy but welcoming, the hospitality was spectacular, the food was the best! incredible flavors. would go again! would recommend to a friend!

My friend and I dined here for Restaurant Week dinner a few weeks ago. We were seated way inside in comfortable booth seating, but all the tables were close together and it felt a little cramped. Besides that, the interior was quite lovely and beautifully colorful with cool artwork. There were plants and lights hanging from the ceiling in one area of the restaurant. Another part of the restaurant had plants and shiny silver balls on the ceiling. Overall, this made for a festive atmosphere. For my appetizer, I chose the Croquettes, which had Berkshire ham and potato inside. This came with tomato pepper sauce, which was just okay. The outer shell of the Croquettes were pretty tasty with a nice crunch, but the inside filling was really mushy. I ordered the Lechon Asado for my entree, which is the traditional roast pig marinated for 24 hours, roasted overnight in mojo, and served with garlic mojo yucca, along with black rice and peas. The meat was shredded into pieces already, and was perfectly tender, juicy, well seasoned, as well as filled with amazing flavor. I also enjoyed the rice, which was cooked just the right amount. The yucca was soft, but kind of starchy and bland. I couldn't really taste a whole lot of garlic. The dessert options were not that great. I went with the Flan over Banana Custard, but I would've preferred the Tres Leches Cake. The Flan was Cuban style egg custard drenched in a sweet caramel sauce, topped with a fragrant mint leaf. The Flan was firm, velvety creamy smooth with silky texture, as well as lightly eggy, boasting a rich toasted caramel flavor from the sauce. Service was decent. The place was bustling, so it was sometimes hard to get the attention of the waiter. I don't think I will return because the prices are pretty high.

Made a reservation for noon on a Saturday and the place was pretty packed by the time we got in. The ambiance is so nice; it's sunny, and there are lots of plants and colors around. The two of us actually got seated at a four person table - nice and spacious! Haha Tropical chips - 4/5 - the guac was super tasty and the chips were good! They reminded me of terra chips, but I do wish that it came with more chips. There were only about 6 chips with a scoop of guac. Tortilla Blanca - 5/5 - this was kind of like a frittata/omelette and if you don't want anything too heavy, I'd definitely recommend this dish! It was super light and flavorful, exactly what I was going for. The eggs also had plantains in them, a combo I've never had before I think, but it added a sweetness that I really enjoyed! Aperol spritz - 5/5 - one of my go-tos and this one did not disappoint! Drinks-wise the sangria on the menu also looked really good and the table next to us ordered a pitcher. The service was a bit slow but nothing that would prevent me from coming back again. Would recommend checking out this little oasis in midtown!!

Wow, great food and a really nice location (really dug the deco - fans on the ceiling were cool). The portions are a bit small for sharing plates, so look to order 2 or more of each option if you have a larger party.

Ambiance is full of energy! Service is always on point - very attentive! Food is always amazing! I have here many times over the years and the food and service never disappoint. This is not a place to come for an intimate dinner - music and conversation fills the dining rooms.

Love the location of this restaurant, which leans toward business casual. The plantains, empanadas and yucca fries are all very good appetizer options. The vaca frita, ropa vieja and lechon asada are delicious choices and a great option for anyone who is unfamiliar with Cuban food. I will say that the prices are a little high for Cuban food - not surprising when you consider the location. But this is good dinner option if you want to get dressed up a little and catch a show afterwards.
