Sweet Condesa Is Back With Ube Pies and Pandan Tartlets | Eater SF

"I’ve attended Lorenzo’s ticketed tea-party tastings—10-course pastry and dessert menus for up to 40 people—often held at Victory Hall in San Francisco (or similar local venues), where guests enjoy inventive items like ube queso scones, calamansi financiers topped with calamansi curd, guava cheese galettes, and savory longanisa quiche bites at long tables with linens and porcelain teacups, creating a warm, family-style sense of community." - Dianne de Guzman

Great atmosphere, cocktails, beer selection, and good southern comfort foods! You can't go wrong with fried or blackened chicken- both are flavorful and juicy! You can pick either if you're getting one of their salads which are both very good. The mini corn muffins are also always a favorite to get here with the honey butter. 😋 Very cool space with great staff. They also have some free boardgames on a shelf by the entrance. We've also been here for a trivia night once which was fun

They've done such an amazing job with the space! I remember when it used to be the old 330 Ritch spot. It's more classy/beautifully decorated but still has the hometown feel. I stopped by for drinks and appetizers - both of which were delicious - and can't wait to come back for a meal. There's a lot of space to sit inside and out and a back room you can reserve for parties. There's also space for a DJ/band, as well as a beautiful mural depicting a Filipina woman dancing. Definitely a spot to check out!

Google
Delicious drinks. Try Karl the Fog and Lost my pants. The bartender was pretty nice and awesome suggesting some beers and alternative drinks. We tried the buffalo chicken wings and the fried chicken breast and thigh both are not bad. The interior of the place is pretty spacious and the decor is pretty nice to hangout in.

Google
I love everything about Victory Hall! Top tier drinks, grub, people! I’m a sucker for good lighting and they have got theirs dialed. I’m pretty sure they love my pup more than me, then again most do! You cannot go wrong here, pre, post and/or during a game/event!

Google
Solid choice for lunch or after work drinks. If you're into fried chicken, check this place out. Victory Hall is the larger restaurant space while Little Skillet serves the same food from a to-go counter. Victory Hall also serves all food in to-go containers, so even if you order inside you can get up and leave anytime you need. They serve a mix of things, from chicken and waffles to po'boys to breakfast items. The fried chicken is definitely their bread and butter. When I strayed to a po'boy one day, I wasn't thrilled... the fries were good and the crispy catfish on the sandwich was good, but there was too much bread, not enough stuff, and overall the flavor just wasn't as awesome as their chicken. I definitely had food envy as I watched others tear into their crispy wings and drumsticks. Local tip: come early or late. The line wraps around the block from about 11:45pm-12:45pm.

Google
Ordered a Cobb salad and a two-piece fried chicken plate. The Cobb came full of romaine in the middle of the romaine lettuce recall in November — we shouldn’t have had to ask them to replace it with a different lettuce. The first fried chicken plate came out cold and soft, obviously old. When we asked them to heat it up, the second plate came with a tray lining that bled blue ink all over the chicken.

Google
We ordered from the skillet menu. The blackened shrimp and catfish were both perfectly cooked and flavorful. The mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy were pure comfort. The collard greens, even though vegetarian, were deeply flavorful and a little smoky. My vegetarian gf was happy there. We will definitely come back

Yelp
I came here for the 415 Coffee Club event on 10/26, and it was such a fun surprise to see Victory Hall & Parlor transform from a bar into a cozy, creative coffee spot for the morning! The atmosphere was industrial-chic with warm lighting, upbeat music, and friendly people chatting around copper-topped tables. The bar staff were super welcoming and kept the flow smooth even with the brunch crowd. I ordered the fried chicken & waffle, which was crispy, buttery, and absolutely hit the spot. I loved that each table had fresh flowers and little "conversation cards" that encouraged guests to connect, such a thoughtful touch. The 415 Coffee Club crew curated a perfect blend of community, music, and caffeine, and Victory Hall provided the ideal backdrop with its beautiful bar setup, colorful lighting, and great energy. I'll definitely be back for both their regular evening menu. A great reminder of how SF still knows how to mix good design, good people, and good coffee

Yelp
Close to the ballpark and quite a few different Muni lines, I didn't realize I'd been to Victory Hall before for a local election night party celebrating a local politician. By night, it's a chic lounge with a full bar, and by day, it's Southern food from Little Skillet (soul food in SF!) The ambiance is dark and chill, which differs from the outdoor parklet which is surrounded by trees. Booth seating is pretty lush. For lunch, I ordered the Hearty Cobb Salad and shared the Skillet Mac & Cheese and biscuits. My compatriot got the sausage bowl. We both got iced teas, however mine was sweetened and his was not. The salad was large and came with a nice amount of avocado. The fried chicken was moist and flavorful. The batter wasn't too thick or overwhelming so the chicken flavor and crunch could shine through. Mac n cheese was creamy. Biscuit was crisp and warm. I have no complaints--I left stuffed and satisfied. Service was good. Lots of people come here for work lunches from nearby offices.

Yelp
Victory Hall is a great hidden spot to hang out with a large group of friends if you ever find yourself in this area of SoMA. Victory Hall is spacious, they have a full bar -- offering beer, wine and cocktails, there's food available from the shared kitchen of Little Skillet next door, and you can order via QR code across multiple, separate tabs. Drinks are well-balanced, do not taste watered down, and prices are in line with other bars in the city. I had a chance to try out their bloody Mary and Oaxacan negroni on my most recent visit and really enjoyed the flavors in both. The concentration of tomato in the bloody Mary was richer than most that I've had in the past -- resulting in a thicker texture. No crazy over the top garnishes here, but if you're a bloody Mary fan, you'll certainly enjoy the spicy one offered here. Service is hit or miss depending on who your server is, so you may have to flag somebody down to get a refill for water, but the QR code ordering does help out the situation a bit. If you're ever in charge of planning a corporate Happy Hour or finding a spot for a round of farewell drinks for co-workers, Victory Hall is perfect for that.

Yelp
Staff was very nice. Place is a little dark. Their pork was delicious! If you are coming here, have a beer, biscuits with their amazing sage honey butter & mashed potato bowl with pork. I think you will be happy! All 3 five stars for sure! We appreciated we could sit & eat before a Giants game. Didn't like their fried chicken salad. There was approx 20% meat, mostly batter & skin on their fried chicken Others loved their pork dishes! Super chill, super casual. Beer, biscuits w/special butter & pork at least 5 stars! Wish we skipped the mixed drinks & fried chicken/fish.

J M.

Yelp
I love the blackened shrimp bowl over mashed potatoes with the mushroom gravy and the small corn bread muffins are delicious too. Full bar with great bartenders.

Yelp
We have been coming to this awesome place for years & I realize it's high time to write a review! Everything we order is always delicious so you can't go wrong. My teenager usually gets the classic Chicken & Waffles plate and it is both a very generous portion and so tasty! I love shrimp & grits and Victory Hall does it so well- perfectly spiced and flavorful. Everyone who works there is sincerely kind and do not rush you out! They have a DJ brunch on Saturdays from 11-3 which is super fun. It's also a great place to bring family & out of town guests before or after a Giants Game. I wish I took pictures of the meals beforehand, but we always forget bc we just dive into deliciousnous!

Yelp
I came here for a party and though the staff were really nice, the cons were: - None of the food items were labeled - The bathrooms were messy - One of the bartenders gave me the worst pour of Guinness I've ever seen

Yelp
I like Victory Hall for a few key things. One, service, really solid bartenders. Two, ambiance, have to say the space/music/decoration combo gives off positive vibes. Three, food, diverse menu regardless of what you might be in the mood for. Lastly, the Happy Hour (see photo attached). Runs all night Monday and from 2-pm, Tues-Friday. If you're looking for a good spot to pre/post game after watching the Giants, come on in!

Yelp
How did I never know about this spot before? As a diehard Giants fan and Bay Area local, I thought I knew every good pregame bar, restaurant, and venue around the ballpark. Victory Hall completely caught me off guard--in the best way. It's exactly what I love about this city: always evolving, always surprising. A couple friends told me to meet them here, and I said, "Where's that?" Turns out, I'd probably been here back in the day under a different name. But hey--I'm always down to give a venue a second shot. And I'm glad I did, because the energy running through this place is alive and thumping. Walking in felt familiar, but fresh. I was quickly greeted by Brendon behind the bar. I only had 30 minutes to make it to the ballgame, and we both laughed about how the new pitch clock rules don't leave you much wiggle room. If my crew didn't hustle across the street, we'd miss the first pitch. Like any great bartender, Brendon read the moment--he knew he'd get me back for that second beer next time. That kind of attentiveness is exactly why I'll return. If you're looking for a bad review, keep scrolling. I've got nothing but praise for the food, the atmosphere, the location, and the vibe at Victory Hall. Cheers, Freddy the Barber

Yelp
This place is a great place to meet up with friends especially when some are vegan and others are not. We went for the launch of their new vegan bar bites curated by Chef Raina and they were amazing. My personal favorite was the "No Crab Cakes" which were crispy and flavored perfectly. The Brussels sprouts were so soft as well, I just wish they came with a sauce. We also tried the vegan tacos which were simple but decent and the garlic fries which made a good snack. They also have non-vegan options and a whole dinner menu. On the bar side, their happy hour Moscow mule was one of the best I've ever had.

Yelp
We came here for brunch on New Year's Day, and enjoyed the live entertainment and music, delicious food, friendly service, and winning a raffle prize on the first day of the year, lol :D It's located in an alley, but street parking was easy right in front of the restaurant (in that alleyway). The venue is beautiful, and has almost an industrial feel but perhaps converted to what it is currently... clean, modern, spacious, two rooms (each with its own bar), unique light fixtures, and lots of artwork and color on the walls bringing so much character to the place. They even have a shelf of board games at the entrance, right next to the host podium. Little Skillet, whose kitchen is right next door, serves some amazing food here. The chicken and waffles definitely live up to the hype, juicy and crisp pieces of chicken (your choice of what pieces you want), and thick and fluffly waffles! The crab & seafood gumbo was amazing as well, the closest thing to soup that they had, the entire dish with awesome flavors and ingredients. The beignets aren't the best I've had, but they were still pretty damn good, light and airy, not too sweet, and even better as leftovers. If you're looking for great food and drinks and perhaps some live entertainment in a laid-back atmosphere, I definitely recommend this spot.

Yelp
Y'all! Victory Hall is a whole vibe and one of my new fave SF gems! From the crew to tha food to tha music, it's all a vibe for me! Harper and Mia are freakin awesome! They made our experience so special. A party of 20+ of us, never had to wait on a drink and the food was on point!! Like magic. Oh and get you some of that fried chicken! Y'all, that chicken with the crystal hot sauce had me doin a dance and throwin my macro plan out the door! So good! Anywho, such a great experience! I'm looking forward to my next visit and my next visit after that. Get ya some! Cheers

Yelp
Great staff, food and vibes! Especially fun on a Giants game night, but great place in any night!

Yelp
My Bestie and I had our annual New Year Day brunch today. We had gone one year pre pandemic. She sent me a flyer and I was all in. I love the NOLA vibes with the brass band that was there today. The food was super delicious! My first time actually eating chicken and waffles. The chicken was super crispy and juicy. I like how the waffles were super light, nothing thick or heavy. The staff and service were great. There was someone always checking on us. We even got to get up and dance to the music with the people today.

Yelp
Was this the old popscene space, my partner and I ask ourselves? Why yes, underneath the slick and stylish renovation, you can catch glimpses of what came before. Sigh. Fortunately, Victory hall does a very fine job with the space, offering good bar service and a more cocktail specific menu. I would have liked to seen a beer menu that was a little more my style (the best options were some Almanac selections, a brewery I'm not usually a fan of) but the cocktails were well made and delicious. As a host to rotational dinner menu's (why my partner and I were there that night) it worked very well. Would recommend for something similar or a start of night beverage.

Yelp
Would have loved to experience what looks like a beautiful spot...however, I was willfully ( thats the important part) ignored for a full 10 minutes, by 2 different bartenders at the bar that only had 2 other parties at it. Oh well.

Yelp
I had a blast at Victory Hall, Stopped by on a Monday, all day all night happy hour (Victory Hour) inexpensive food and drinks. The service was great with Liam behind the bar. Definitely going to go there before and after Giants games!

Yelp
When I worked on Third Street, I used to go to 330 Ritch, and while I don't think there is dancing at Victory Hall, it still reminded me of those times. This is a place where everyone belongs, even if you don't fit in. My clubbing days are over, and for the most part so are my days of drink, but every so often I take a sip. Harper was mixing the night I was at Victory Hall for a film festival after party and everyone was delighted by the drinks Harper was creating. I went to the bar with a friend expecting to order a soda water, but after watching Harper whip up a few specials I thought I would try a sidecar. Wonderful. And so is Harper: a quiet mixologist while working the craft, and also a kind conversationalist who made sure everyone was taken care of and had a good time and made it home safely. 11 of 10 will go back and I hope Harper is pouring.

Yelp
Honestly . My chicken tasted frighteningly similar to KFC. And I love KFC so I know . But I didn't expect to sit here and taste the same flavor. It also wasn't hot, just like you get KFC. The chicken def was not made to order . The mimosa was mid . It's a nice looking restaurant inside .

Rahim A.

Yelp
As a hip hop fan, I appreciate that this venue hosts hip hop legends and pays tribute to the pioneers of that culture. However, every single time I come here, I am literally ignored. I don't mean "oh, how can I help you" after a few minutes. I mean, standing there for over 20 minutes while watching others walk up, get instantly serviced and walk away while I stand there patiently, respectfully waiting. The first time this happened, I chalked it up to a mistake albeit waiting for 30 minutes. At the Dilla tribute event tonight, I experienced the exact same thing. As a 6'3 dark skinned dude, I'm not hard to miss so it doesn't take much imagination to wonder why there appears to be preferential treatment here. I will never patronize this venue again, if you know you know.
google avatar

Donald H.

Yelp
Great food yet inconsistent. Good drinks yet ... inconsistent. Best times are durning lunch and before late night. I hope this place gets better, they have a vibe that's welcoming.

Yelp
Stopped here late on a Thursday night! Great indoor environment with a large bar in the center and surrounding booths/tables. My friends and I dropped by for dinner and drinks. The bar is served by "Little Skillet"- the restaurant next door! So we were able to have Moscow mules and chicken plates all in one go. Only thing that was ~kinda~ weird was no salad dressing for the salad side?? Other than that- awesome!!

tina c.

Yelp
Needed a moment to have a quiet meal and a drink. Ordered fried chicken and a beer, and finished my food quickly, so I thought I'd move to the outdoor patio so I could sit outside with my dog. I asked the bartender earlier if I could move to the patio and she said it was fine. My car was literally one parking spot next to the patio, and so I placed my beer on the table to let my pup out and when I came back my beer was gone. Literally about a 30 second endeavor. When I asked about it, this nasty server told me that they're not allowed to have glass out there (not according to your fellow staff) and that there wasn't that much left (sorry bro doesn't matter. I really wanted to finish it) and then walked away without acknowledging me. Super terse and rude. I stood there asking if I could at least get another glass and he came out unapologetically and dropped a small glass of beer on the table then walked away righteously. Not coming back again.

Yelp
Awesome day!! Went in for happy hour, had some great drinks. Liam the bartender was really cool and on point. Thank you and will definitely return.

Yelp
I went in on a Monday afternoon and Leim help me with all drinks for me and my business partners. We had a great time Thank you so much for the great service.

Yelp
Great spot! It has a cool easy going cabin vibe. Great selection of beers and cocktails. Sunday afternoon was mellow, other than a niners game that was on (they lost) that caused some uproar.

Drew D.

Yelp
I'm never disappointed with the Monday all day happy hour, and I'm always impressed with Liam's professionalism, demeanor, and can do attitude. His smile always brightens my day, and he's one of the best at what he does. Couldn't recommend more.

Yelp
Giants pre game fried chicken and cool pint.! Perfect for group's meeting prior to walking in to the park.

Yelp
Came here after work for drinks and fries. I love that the garlic in the fries is part no of the seasoning and not just raw garlic on top. Garland made great drink and food recommendations to mer your picky tastes. We'll be back!

Yelp
A measly 3 stars. C-. Probably worth about 2.5 stars but their prices weren't insane by SF standards so they get a point for that. All time personal favorite cocktail is a Manhattan. The switch to Averna made the cocktail step away from what it's known for - rye/bourbon, etc and was too sweet. Worst I've had in SF & it's a super basic cocktail. Cold brew cocktail tasted like instant coffee. Service was super slow - 25 minutes to receive two cocktails. Entire bar screams "fake" high society and feels like a money grab meant for instagram pictures. Apparently the owner has two other properties in the area - hard pass on those based on my experience here. Meh.

Yelp
We were walking around before a concert and stumbled upon this place. It was a group a Of 4 us and we sat at the bar. The staff was very accommodating. Fast service, Reasonably priced drinks and fresh southern food couldn't ask for more! The manager Mia and the bartender Harper made our time hella fun and will definitely be back!

Sistah S.

Yelp
Lovely space, great reggae music on some nights! Everyone says the food is great, I have to eaten there. I would like to see more caffeinated because though! There are tons of carbonated waters, kombuchas and natural energy drinks on the market! Please proved these and NA drinks to your menu there is also a long wait at the bar, more support staff would be a great idea. The staff that IS there is really nice.
google avatar

Rowan W.

Yelp
This is my local go-to spot for tasty cocktails, good food, and amazing service. The bartenders know what they're doing. Don't see something you like on the drink menu? Just tell them what flavor profile you want, and they've got you covered. Mia, Donald, Dee, and the whole staff are super friendly and really treat you like family. It's a local gem and a staple for me.

Yelp
Well, I'm not sure if it's really even fair to rate this bathroom. The place is cool and I liked being there but I'm here to unbiasedly rate the bathroom. I was initially welcomed with a wafty El Niño of poop air. Although my bladder full I was instantly distracted by a tidal wave of graffiti. Okay, fine. It's sort of dive 'bar-ey', but there were some other aspects less favorable. The gap between the door and the support beam was far too wide. I feel like I could accurately describe a fat man's waist diameter whilst deciding which side of the toilet paper dispenser to use. Not only that but there's literally a gap in the door that divides the poop station from the rest of the sophisticatedly domesticated world. A nice perk is the close proximity of the ATM incase I find myself regretting my life and deciding to move my upchuck from this dirty stall to the back seat of a taxi.
google avatar

Marie A.

Yelp
The fried chicken was sooo good! It's a MUST try and was not dry at all! Also, the bartender Mia was the best since she was very attentive and definitely knows her stuff about making drinks! The service was A1 I must say and that makes a big difference to the ambiance. Great job! Will be back!

Yelp
I feel like they made a few mistakes with my order but I'm not 100% sure... I'll slightly blame ordering via ToastTab on my phone screen. I ordered a kale Caesar so that I could get my vegetables and greens along with fried chicken, but they brought it out with blackened chicken instead. I guess it's possible that in my hunger I accidentally tapped blackened chicken instead of fried even though in my heart I wanted fried. It was still pretty good though and for the sake of my health, the blackened chicken was better. I also ordered large fries to share with the table and that also seemed very small. Like if what I was given was "large", what does the small look like? Is the small just 5 fries? I'm pretty sure I didn't make a mistake here. I also got the deviled eggs, and wasn't terribly impressed. They were also quite tiny. I think ToastTab was kinda glitchy as it closed me out without allowing me to do it myself when I went back onto the page to close out. It also never sent me a receipt so I can't go back and check whether the fried/blackened chicken error was mine or theirs. The timing for food to come out for my group was also wildly variable. We didn't all order at the same time and we all ordered separately, but one person's came out seemingly immediately after she ordered and another waited longer than anyone else. There was also some technical issues which made it so that we couldn't order drinks at our table via ToastTab and had to go to the bar, but we should order food via ToastTab. I think it was a pretty new system as I saw the ToastTab box on the floor near the bar. Food-wise it was a pretty bumpy ride, but drinks-wise everything was fine. I got the Allagash White beer which they served in frosted mugs and I thought that was great as beer serving temperature is very important to me. The bartenders were nice and accommodating. They even allowed my friend to persuade them to change the TV to the Warriors game. The inside space is pretty large, and while we didn't sit outside, their parklet looks pretty nice and cozy.

Geena S.

Yelp
This place is super close to my work place, and a cool spot to hangout. However, today was a different experience that compelled me to write a review because it bothered me so much when I left. The bartender that was serving us was completely rude to our group. We were there around 4:30pm, the only ones in the parlor so I'm not sure why this person was incredibly irritable. It didn't really bother me too much until my colleague asked a simple question, and the bartender went off on him. It was one of those moments I regret now speaking up for my friend. We kind of looked at each other, but he kept going on and on to the point, my friend just nodded and apologized. It was such an uncomfortable and awkward experience. I'm all about giving people the benefit of the doubt... maybe he was having a bad day... or something was going on in his life.. Thankfully, another bartender had arrived by the time I left, and he was SO great. Either way, it left a bad taste in my mouth and I hope it was just a one-time thing. I hope I have the courage to speak up the next time this ever happens.

Yelp
Ehhh... It looks super trendy and it was really busy but the food was just ok. I ordered the country fried steak which came with a side of potatoes and fruit bowl. My potatoes were a bit cold and my steak was a bit tough to chew into. I asked for a side of mayo, which they don't have, but had a similar sauce but I never got it. I had the Bloody Mary which was tasty and I would come back for that again. The inside was a bit dark and there aren't separate tables, it's all like community types of tables and chairs. Which isn't a big deal but you could be sitting next to a stranger. I wouldn't come back for food.

Yelp
Noticing that all of the reviews on here are 2+ years old! So I'm happy to report that post pandemic Victory Hall/Little Skillet is next level amazing! Drinks are strong and tasty and the food is delicious!! I'll have to take photos for my next visit (because I do plan on making this my go to brunch spot!). Greeted by the owner Deanna and her incredible staff with warm smiles and the best service. Had the best of the best chicken & waffles, andouille sausage & grits, beignets, waffles with nutella! YUUUUM! Will be back soon, 5 stars!!

Yelp
Stumbled across this bar walking in the alley. You remember 330 Ritch? Yes they converted it to a bar/restaurant. Came here on a Friday evening. Not packed at all in the bar. The back where you can throw private parties and I assume the dining is was closed at that time. Cool vibes when you walk in. They have nicely made cocktails, dope music, not that crowded. It's a good place to meet with a large group. They had the dub game on too. I'd love to come back and try their food. But I got my eye set on this spot for future meet ups with co workers and friends.

Yelp
Well, fiddle-dee-dee, it looks like Little Skillet has turned into a full fledged sauté pan with a lid no less. It's hard to believe that the cavernous space was an edgy club just a year ago but maybe not that incredulous since Ritch Street is an awfully dark alley at night. Still, it's clear that South Beach is hoping to evoke some of the more upscale, butt-clenching vibe that Pac Heights has in spades. Little Skillet and Farmerbrown owner Deanna Sison Foster and partner Mia Weening have done an excellent job refurbishing the club space into something quite inviting now with its rich wood-industrial chic interior (photo: http://bit.ly/KppsLY). The bar definitely dominates the "Hall" part, but the parlor looks to be a dining room still in development (photo: http://bit.ly/19GPaXw). Jamie W. took me here on their first weekend in operation, and they already had a brunch menu in place (photo: http://bit.ly/1e5JBhw). You order at the counter on the side, so it's a pretty casual set-up. Jamie went for his perennial favorite, the $9 Biscuits & Gravy and added the Sausage instead of the available veggie option of Mushrooms (photo: http://bit.ly/1e0HtdI). Quite a hearty dish with the gravy nice and thick and ladled liberally over the homemade biscuits with slices of sausage generously mixed throughout. I was equally predictable and ordered the $12 Maple Brined Pork Belly served over creamy grits and accompanied by two eggs which I requested poached (photo: http://bit.ly/KwkU5V). Delicious comfort food with the chunks of tender pork providing hearty, melty sweetness. The grits were clearly whipped to a frenzy to resemble handmade mashed potatoes, while the poached eggs were placed neatly in a soup cup, well prepared given the curve ball I gave them in not going for scrambled. I also got the bonus of a mini-cornbread muffin which I recall from my Farmerbrown dinner quite a while ago. Deanna and Mia were there and chatted with us at the bar to let us know their plans. We liked our experience enough to come back for a weeknight dinner. This time, we went for salads to monitor our girlish figures if you consider Precious girlish. Jamie had the $12 Cobb Salad, which was a fresh, robust bowl featuring hearts of Romaine, cut bacon, chunks of tomato and avocado, a halved hard-boiled egg and grated Parmesan cheese with toasted croutons and the ranch dressing on the side. The chief difference from other Cobbs were the hefty pieces of fried chicken breast (photo: http://bit.ly/1aD8aBu). I ordered the comparatively modest $10 Caesar Salad which had chopped Romaine and radicchio, Parmesan cheese, and huge pieces of blackened chicken with the Caesar dressing on the side (photo: http://bit.ly/Kpo4J3). We shared the $8 Veggie Grits, which were a mite more glutinous than I was hoping given the grilled veggies spooned on top (photo: http://bit.ly/1bcTI39). Our healthy eating will likely be challenged by the Chicken & Waffles, Poboy Sandwiches and the litany of Southern comfort staples for which they are locally renowned. I only pray you don't catch me devouring the $24 eight-piece order of Chicken & Waffles while downing a few mint juleps. That just wouldn't be a pretty picture. FOOD - 4 stars...the same satisfying eats served at Little Skillet only on real plates now AMBIANCE - 4.5 stars...nice job on the interior, quite comfortable...just wish the lighting were more inviting from the outside after dark SERVICE - 4 stars...cordial and efficient TOTAL - 4 stars...a nice comfort food addition to a neighborhood that needs to provide more comfort

Yelp
Oh (eyyy), I've been twerkin on this street for so long, Like no one's watching 'cause YOLO, 330 Ritch is dead and gone, dead and gone... But Little Skillet's fried chicken lives on! One of the fondest memories I have of 330 Ritch is stumbling to the Little Skillet window at some point to help offset the ridiculous amount of alcohol consumed throughout the night in the most delicious way possible. The ghost of the sketchy SoMa nightclub of old lingers in the form of chicken and waffles at Victory Hall & Parlor and I couldn't be more stoked about it. It has adopted that swanky SoMa vibe but I feel the groove when I'm ordering and interacting with the staff and bartenders. They have a unique selection of beers and a food menu that is extensive but manageable. Chicken & Waffles - hell yes. Andouille n' grits - served hot as hell (temperature-wise) and delicious as fuuuh. Their french fries are straight up. No crinkles. Simply seasoned. Incredibly satisfying. I need to come back and try their pork belly and MORE FRIED CHICKEN! Thank you for keeping the dream alive. I ruv you.

Yelp
CHICKEN & WAFFLES kind of morning (4.25 stars) Beautiful space with good eats!!!! - FOOD, delicious - PRICES, affordable - SERVICE, good - AMBIANCE, love the modern industrial look If you were an oldskool foodie like myself, you'd know about Little Skillet and how little it was. Limited hours, tiny window, no place to sit. WELL, they expanded and that expansion was a great idea for them. Hello, Victory Hall & Palor!!! They just recently opened so was fortunate to tap in and try it before the masses come. Get in line. Order. Select your seat. Eat! HEFER STATUS. CHICKEN & WAFFLES ($11) - little skillet classic. I've had this before.. ordering out of little skillets window many many years go and enjoying it on the sidewalk. it was served in a to go box. WELL, i wanted to experience it on a plate. Its exactly what it is, chicken and waffles. You have a choice of 2 or 3 pieces, 2 was good enough. The waffles are exactly how I like my waffles, thick and crispy. SO GOOD. The chicken was super damn good but not the best fried chicken I had. The skin has rosemary, sweetness, heat, and you can taste each one. Definitely a savory plate. This can easily be split for two. BLOODY MARY ($9) - it was average. Nothing really stood out from this drink by the pretty vegetables. Will I be back? YES! JABA APPROVED. Until the next review....
