"A short detour toward the river from both outbound and return routes through Wapping, Victualler is the ideal escape for those needing a break from the pressing crowds and the crushing sense of inadequacy that comes with watching fitter, healthier people pound the pavement for hours on end. Slow Food-focussed cuisine and a commitment to organic and biodynamic natural wines mean it’s perfect for restoring the sheen to that suit of self-righteousness." - Andrew Leitch, James Hansen

Great wine bar with some really great wines . Decent food ( their homemade bread is too good) , often live music playing . Sunday lunch is good with some decent vegetarian options .. if you like something that is pretty special and off the beaten track this is for you .

After coming here many times I've always found this place charming. Great selection of fantastic wines and very delicate flavours in the food cooked by their French chef. The ambiance is relaxing and very welcoming. The owner's energy is pretty amazing and when he starts speaking about wine, cheese and food he transports you into an incredible world.

It is a really nice small place perfect for a glass of wine and catch up with a friend or a romantic date. The bread is made by them and it is amazing! They don't have gluten free bread and no olive oil!! Which is terrible news when you are having cheese, charcuterie and an excellent glass of wine...aside of this is the perfect place. Friendly staff that will always recommend the perfect wine for you.

This hidden pearl offers a large and wisely-selected wine and beer variety. The food is outstanding (I had an amazing fish with veggies in a curry sauce) and the service is friendly and impeccable at the same time. Warmly suggested to everyone with passion and curiosity towards refined food and drinks.

I went to this wine bar with a group of fellow "wine geeks". This place boasts a wine list with only natural, organic, and biodynamic wines, and a great selection at that. We spent the evening ordering and trying different wines. The staff was really helpful and knowledgable about the wine list, though a little distracted since it was so busy. Luckily we were happy to relax and chat and were not in a huge rush. Having arrived around dinner time, we also ordered a couple of the platters. I had some oysters with some white wine, and we shared a couple cheese/meat platters - they have a great selection of local cheeses. It is a little out of the way, but I would make the trip again for the great atmosphere and the wine selection.

I haven't had a chance to eat here yet, but I love the wine selection focusing on natural producers, and friendly/knowledgeable staff. A great little find in Wapping, and prices are reasonable.

Fantastic for a relaxing glass or bottle. Choice of wines are unusual but always top quality. Staff are very knowledgeable and most importantly amiable. A great addition to the area.

Somewhat of a hidden gem. Delicious food and a good selection of wine. There's always a few interesting options on the menu. The atmosphere is quiet, relaxed and friendly.

Yelp
This is truly a little piece of heaven in Wapping! Prepare to part with some cash, but in exchange you get the most exquisite experience. The guys who run it are so knowledgeable about their wine - they talk about the vineyard owners that they have bought the wines from and their various practices. It's absolutely fascinating. The space itself is lovely - I like to sit on one of the sofas at the back. They have handy tables and powerpoints if you happen to take your laptop with you (as I have done a couple of times). The nibbles are very good too, I especially love the mackerel pate, although that may have been a one off special as they had made it about 40 minutes before I ate it!

Yelp
Stumbled on this bar - food is the best I've had in years, and good range of wines to pair with. Mille feuille for dessert :) Excellent live music as well!

Yelp
We have been here several times, having walked past previously and thought it looked good inside. It's actually a shop that also acts as a bar. Wine selection is very good. On our first visit, when we weren't sure what we wanted to drink, we were given a taste (and description) of 4 reds. We enjoyed a glass of one of them, and could easily have polished off a bottle! We've tried 3 different wines there now, all of which have been excellent. They also do bar nibbles, mostly locally sourced, eg artisan bread, British cheeses. The beef stripes are a "must have". All the food is good and complements the wines well. All the staff we've come across to date have been excellent. A nice mixture of knowledgeable and personable. As noted, this is a shop as well as a bar. I think you can buy anything in the shop and they'll serve it in the bar, though we've just gone for those on the wine list so far. Overall, a good little place for a relaxing drink if you happen to be in Wapping.
