Where To Eat Along The London Pride Parade - London - The Infatuation

"Wherever you refuel needs to match your energy—which is best described as border collie with a hide-a-squirrel toy. Viet Food is a Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown that embraces chaos. People knock into hanging lanterns, steaming bowls of phở cloud the room, and the service is brisk, with tables constantly in motion. There’s a thrumming drum soundtrack to hype you back up for the night ahead too." - heidi lauth beasley, sinead cranna

Visited Vietfood after a museum trip and was surprised by how busy it was - barely any walk-in tables available! Definitely recommend booking ahead. If you go, try to get seated upstairs - the area with the skylight makes for such a nice atmosphere. Location: 34-36 Wardour St, London W1D 6QT Price: £20-40 per person (good value) As someone with a Sichuanese spice-loving palate, I really enjoyed these dishes: Prawn Summer Rolls (£9.5) Refreshing and light - perfect as a healthy option without the dipping sauce (which is an intense sweet chili). The rice paper was perfectly chewy and the prawns were fresh and sweet. Grilled Scallops & Prawns (£10.5) The scallops were incredible! That peanut oil glaze is amazing - sweet, fragrant and addictive. Appreciated that they pre-separated the shellfish - very convenient. Sea Bass (£13.8) Wonderfully crispy outside while staying tender inside - like an elevated fish & chips. The batter has a subtle spice, and dipping it in the sauce takes it to another level. Beef Brisket Pho (£13.2) The broth was deeply flavorful - my friend joked it was like a "lighter Nanchang noodle soup". The beef was beautifully tender, though the portion was enormous - we couldn't finish it between two people! Final thoughts: - Fresh, healthy food with no MSG - perfect when you want something lighter - Upstairs seating is much nicer - Definitely book ahead as it's always busy I'll certainly be returning - next time I want to try the soft-shell crab and lemongrass chicken wings!

I am impressed by how fresh and colourful the vegetable is. The lettuce, bean sprouts, lemongrass, and all veggies are crunchy, fresh, and have a slight hint of tanginezz from the homemade dressing. I’ve ordered the pho tai. The noodles are slightly springy, and beef is tender yet delicious. The 16 hour beef and chicken broth is clear but rich. The summer rolls are also good, but I will say they are overpriced (£9.30). The deep fried pork jowl is very crispy but also overpriced (£12.30). We’ve tried the chargrilled pork and chargrilled beef bun, which the portion is generous and pretty delicious. The homemade drinks are alright. The morning glory (stir friend vegetables) has a rich umami flavour to it, and I’ll highly recommend. The service here is great, very friendly staff, and food all came piping hot and fast. The portion for all the main dishes (not the sides) are very generous and good quality. I will highly commend the beef pho.

Google
It’s one of my favourite places. Reasonably priced and all the food is delicious. There is always a long queue, but the quick turns so you can get in without much of a wait. There is an extensive Vietnamese tapas menu, offering a wide variety of tastes to try.Be careful not to ask for too much as the portions are large. Friendly service.

Google
Really good food but unusually limited Gluten Free options and not much confidence in server’s knowledge. Usually Vietnamese is easily GF, but there seemed to be soy in places we’re not used to. A lovely shrimp, orange & herb salad. Proper rice paper wrapped egg rolls. Either way lovely lunch and the Phở is excellent, despite those silly wooden spoons.

Had a great time at Viet Food! The food was full of flavour and everything we ordered came out fresh and tasty. Loved the vibe of the place — relaxed but busy, and the staff were super friendly. Definitely a spot I’d come back to. If you’re craving Vietnamese food, this place won’t disappoint!

A restaurant with great location in Chinatown. The service is fast. Very good flavours. I love the grilled chicken wings very much. Stir fry morning glory is a lovely dish.

Google
Found a gem in the heart of Soho — Body London is the perfect mix of street-style Vietnamese flavours and modern London cool. We kicked off with their signature grilled pork bun (crispy, juicy, perfection), followed by grilled octopus, prawns, and chicken, all beautifully charred and smoky. The bo la lot — beef and prawns wrapped in betel leaves — was packed with flavour and so moreish. Of course, we had to get their comforting pho to round it all off. Every bite felt vibrant and bold, and the whole place gives you that cool, effortless vibe. Great for groups or a casual date night. Hidden in Chinatown, but definitely one to bookmark.

Google
Busy and popular Vietnamese restaurant at Chinatown. Food was flavourful. The Vietnamese fried rice and lemongrass chicken were delicious. Stir fried morning glory was on the salty side and the picked vegetables inside the summer roll were a bit overpowering. Pho was ok. All the dishes were on a smaller portion. Service was good and the staffs are very helpful and friendly.

Yelp
This is the spicy pho with the chicken. It all started by slight curiosity me and my group have never had pho before so we walked in. Trying to gauge the menu and the environment we were asked the count of our group. I didn't put much thought but I answered, "Five", I said.Walking up the stairs I instinctively knew this place was gonna be the best meal of my London experience. Once I got my pho I started tearing up after the first slurp. Slightly because of the spice but mainly because I've never had anything so savory and so enjoyable that I enjoyed everything. Not only did this bowl of spicy pho make my day, it also activated my third eye. I've never been so aware of the details of such a dish where I was able to understand what I was eating. If there was truly is such a thing as Nirvana I believe I was the closest there.I've reached a peak that I fear I'll never return to. Thank you Viet Food and thank you for having a great waitress/hostess.

Yelp
A trip to Chinatown is on the itinerary for many people, and it's a must for us because my parents eventually grow tired of chips, toasties, and baked beans. I personally am skeptical of a lot of Chinese places since they either are too Westernized, or cater to tourists, plus we only want a quick lunch and we are pretty small eaters. Pho is always a good bet in these situations. We waited until the place opened (creating an illusion that this place is popular! Many people popped in to look at the restaurant menu while we waited, mostly because my parents are tired), got promptly seated when the restaurant opened. We ordered 2 phos and some kangkong (morning glory) belachan. The phos are decent -- nice rice noodles that aren't sticking together, decent broth, a bit lacking in meat quantity. Overall a pretty pricey bowl because it's on the small side. The kangkong belachan is where it's at!! Steamy, spicy, and full of wok-hei, it's stir-fried to perfection. This makes me think their other wok dishes must be good! Overall a decent stop in Chinatown if you are craving some asian dishes.

Yelp
Pretty good Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. I ordered the Bun Thit Bo Buong, which was vermicelli noodles with beef. It was good but very standard in terms of ingredients and quality. I will say that the beef was more tender than usual though which I liked. The portion size was decent and the price of 14.50 GBP was reasonable. The staff are average friendliness and the interior has a casual vibe with typical Vietnamese restaurant decor. It can get busy during peak hours and we had to wait about 15-20 min for a table. Overall, it seems like this place is very popular with many good reviews, and while I can confirm it is indeed good, I don't think there's all that much that really elevates it beyond the level of many other Vietnamese restaurants. Still a solid 4 star place though.

Yelp
We loved this place so much, we visited twice. The space looks small when you walk in, but they have more seating upstairs. And they have a clean and very stylish bathroom! The first visit we got the lemon grass chicken, the sea bass, and the soft shell crab. All were 10 out of 10. Soft shell crab is one of my favorite foods, and this is one of the best I've had. Second visit we got the crab again, and then tried the scallops and the duck. Both delicious as well, but I'm still dreaming about that sea bass! The staff is very friendly and service is efficient, they don't have you waiting around for your food very long. Highly recommend, this was our favorite meal in London!

Yelp
A two-story restaurant lending itself to greater capacity than most of the other restaurants in the same district. Very tasty light portions of Vietnamese food. Served in a quaint and cozy island themed environment. Service is quick and efficient. Convenient access to all the local theaters in the West End.

Ly T.

Yelp
If you're looking for Vietnamese food it does the job but it's definitely not authentic(btw i'm viet). We had the slow cooked beef pho, the chicken tapa, and fried rice. The beef pho tasted fine, but there was none of the usual Vietnamese sauces or anything to put in it. The chicken tasted fine but nothing really special. The fried rice tasted fine. It seemed kind of dirty and not that clean of an establishment. I tried speaking in Vietnamese to the staff, but there didn't seem to be any Vietnamese staff so that was awkward...Anyway, I wouldn't come back. It was just okay.

Yelp
I always try to check out places that sell pho while in Europe and this place did not disappoint. We tried the chicken pho and the beef fried rice and also the lemongrass chicken wings. Everything was great and the service was really quick I might come back here twice just for that. Ambiance is lovey and there is always a line to sit down.

Yelp
VietFood exceeded all expectations - the food was absolutely excellent, the service was warm and attentive, and the drinks and atmosphere added to a truly enjoyable dining experience. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This Pho was a 5, my sidekick said. She doesn't really know if it's authentic or not. However, she know good when she taste it and that's what matters. I had the Bun Thit Bo Nuong which wasn't what I expected but it was VG also. We were staying at a nearby hotel and the major reason for stopping here was it's location and fellow YELP reviews. Thanks Yelpers. We ate in our hotel room. The to-go order was nicely boxed with eating utensils. The broth for the Pho was packed separate from the base and was piping hot when opened. No complaints.

Yelp
10/10 so delicious and try it with the vinegar and green sauce! Small, quant reprieve from the busy streets around.

Yelp
I'm all about supporting the diaspora but you won't find authentic Vietnamese pho here. After days of eating British food, I was craving something familiar. The place is nicely decorated. It can be a bit cramped but it's London after all. The service was subpar but I was not expecting much. I ordered a Pho Dac Biet. Once they gave me a little teapot thing and told me this was the fish sauce for the pho, I knew it would go downhill from there. I can say I ate a soup with a meat broth and rice noodles, but it was not pho. The spices that make the dish what it is with simply not there. Cinnamon, star anise, fennel, and other components of a generally recognizable broth were not there. Perhaps they fare better with less complex foods like vermicelli with eggrolls or grilled meat. This is the last time that I'm listening to Google Reviews that say this is authentic Viet food from a non-Viet person. I would just stick to eating the Chinese food in the area.

Yelp
We were in the China Town area on Saturday. The Pho noodle stand caught my eye when I walked by the restaurant. I could see the chef making Pho. It reminded me of the pho stands in Vietnam. I was tempted to dine in but there was a long queue outside of the restaurant. So it was a hard pass. Yesterday we were in the area again. My son wanted Pho. We decided to stop by to see if we could order take out. When we got there, a party of 4 was ahead of us. The lady working there told everyone to stay outside to wait. I told her we just wanted order take out so she let us in right away. We placed an order and stood at the corner since there was no waiting area. Luckily, the food came out pretty quickly (maybe 5-10 minutes). It took us about 20 minutes to get back to our place but the broth was still smoking hot. The broth was pretty tasty. I liked the Pho noodle texture a lot. It's similar to the noodles I grew up eating in Vietnam. Today, it was raining cats and dogs in London. We didn't feel like going out to eat. I thought of the steaming bowl of Pho noodles at Viet Food so we ordered through UberEat. I got Spicy Pho Chin Hue, Pho Chin and Pho Ga. I was little bit disappointed that they used the same Pho broth for all the Pho choices. Spicy Pho Chin Hue is basically Pho Chin with sautéed chili oil - it's definitely not Bun Bo Hue. I kinda knew from the description on the menu, but still hoped that it's not Pho broth lol. Overall, I would say it's very close to the authentic flavor I used to eat when I was little. I like Viet food more than any Pho places I had been to so far in some European countries.

Yelp
A modern-ish restaurant in Chinatown - mostly wood decor. It has lots of seating so even if there's a line-up, it'll move fast. Service is fast and staff work very efficiently. I would say high seating turnover too. We just came for simple dinner tonight and ordered the basics - a bowl of their 150 Pho Tai and a plate of Bún thit nurö'ng. The 150 series is supposed to be "original taste with no MSG". After having pho everywhere, this may taste bland to most. It tasted like regular beef soup that's healthier without the loads of MSG. I left the resto not thirsty. The plate of Bun thit nong was good, loved the shiso leaf that made it so refreshing. Menu is interesting with lots of small plates but it'll be for next trip!

Yelp
What an awesome Vietnamese restaurant in London Chinatown! Definitely recommended if you like SE Asian food. Can't go wrong if you're looking for flavorful food while in this town. Very reasonable. Will be back to explore more options at this place. Two thumbs up!
google avatar

Yelp
Not bad! I got the bun thit nuong (my safe dish) and it was alright! I ordered to go and realized too late that I needed more fish sauce. Dish wasn't mind blowing or inventive. Protein was ok, I always want more but given its location and appearance, they charge a bit more for the aesthetic. Also no chopsticks were given to me which was interesting. They took extra care to tape the lid shut and double bag my dish. I wasn't able to enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant but my little glimpses of what I saw looked like a great place to chill after a long day. Pretty interior.
google avatar

Mari A.

Yelp
I came to this restaurant because it was cold out, and wanted some pho. There was a wait but it wasn't too bad. We had shrimp rolls and pho. The food came out pretty fast. The staff made sure we had everything we needed. This restaurant was good and had fast service.
google avatar

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
Delicious Vietnamese food with an expansive selection in a rustic southeastern Asian setting. Fast and friendly service. Highly recommended if you're visiting Chinatown.

Tee T.

Yelp
This restaurant does NOT serve Vietnamese food. I walked in expecting to have Vietnamese food as the name of the restaurant is given. We were greeted by an Asian lady who I could tell was not Vietnamese. I immediately asked if this is a Vietnamese restaurant and was told yes. The menu that was given to us was definitely Google translated to Vietnamese. We were served with Asian food of taste but far from being cooked by a Vietnamese individual. I gave this restaurant a 2 instead of a 1 for the fact that the food is not "bad". However, management should reconsider renaming the restaurant to not reference "Viet" if you do not serve Vietnamese food. If you are looking for Vietnamese food, this is not a place to go to.
google avatar

Bob S.

Yelp
The service was very good, food - mediocre. The fresh rolls sauce was very sweet (essentially just Hoisin sauce with a touch of crushed peanuts and a housemade hot sauce). The PhoTai had a good amount of flavor but again a little on the sweet side without much to add sour and salty. Even the fish sauce tasted like there was sugar added to it.

Steve O.

Yelp
The people were amazing and friendly and the service was good, but the food - oh my. This was the best Pho we ever had - mine was very spicy and my wife's was very mild, but both were amazing. The salad too - and reasonably priced. If you are hungry for amazing food, go here.

Yelp
Stopped by this place after watching Moulin Rouge. The set up is nice. The servers were attentive. No complaints on the food. The folks across from us pretty much inhaled their bowls. I would try this place again but earlier in the day. We snuck in just before closing time.
google avatar

Yelp
(This place isn't authentic Vietnamese food.) Coming in to the only Vietnamese restaurant I saw in the Chinatown area of London, I went inside and got sat next to another person at close proximity. I felt like I was practically dining with their group since the table was so close. I was sat next to the window and tucked in the corner which made me feel claustrophobic. Server was ok but got really funny when I asked him which pho was good. Felt like he didn't have the patience with telling me anything and wanted me to order quickly. Anyhoo, the pho was good. Pho tai was what I ordered and it was a decent portion. The vegetables that come with the pho was small. The price was great considering I came from California and it's expensive in the United States due to inflation but in the UK the price point was good!
google avatar

Kathy D.

Yelp
Staff was so attentive, plenty of seating! Decent prices. Honestly this is the worst pho we ever ate, it's so not authentic, it was a huge disappointment. The meat is tough and has a funky flavor, and the noodles had not been rinsed so you can taste the afterwash of it in your broth. The broth itself, I can't even explain; almost like a ringed out towel or ramen noodle packet broth. I'm Vietnamese, it's not hard to make a good bowl of pho. But I would definitely try to come back and maybe eat something else? Just don't get the pho in my opinion--the only good thing I can say about the pho is the temperature was piping hot, flavor was lacking. I should have known better to not go get viet food in a chinatown. The Bo la lot was different it had a sour taste not s beefy taste 2/5 Pho 1/5
google avatar

Lauren F.

Yelp
Walked by this restaurant looking for dinner and thought it sounded good. Got the green beans, spring rolls, shrimp w/ vermicelli in sauce, and the pork spare ribs and a cocktail. All were amazing! Don't let the small seating area fool you, they have a larger upstairs dining area too.
google avatar

Mehrnaz H.

Yelp
A rustic hidden gem awaits you inside this restaurant in Chinatown. You would not expect how large the restaurant is from the street. They have ample seating in 3 seatings areas on two stories. The service was just right for the restaurant and the staff was super friendly. We shred 3 dishes and everything was fresh tasting and flavorful. Loved the fruit juices they make as well. The lemongrass chicken is a must try. The restaurant was super busy the entire time we were there. Will try them when back in London again.

Valerie T.

Yelp
Great Vietnamese food with friendly efficient staff. The menu was designed by Michelin-starred chef, Jeff Tan, and had a well-balanced variety of local and fusion dishes. We got Chả nem Việt Nam, Bún Thịt Nướng, and Pho Tai. All were delicious! Great spot to satisfy Vietnamese cravings.
google avatar

Joey J.

Yelp
I came here recommended by a friend and was highly disappointed. The portion of their noodle soup is so small, it's not even half of what other phos normally serve. You get about 1/3 portion of a regular size pho. The soup broth did not have any authentic pho ingredients taste to it. It tasted like plain beef stock from the grocery. Avoid this place, there are better asian foods in London than this place. 2 stars for a clean washroom, nice seating area and okay staff.
google avatar

Ally C.

Yelp
We had a wonderful meal here at Viet Food, while visiting London from America. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was excellent, we loved every dish that came our way. Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Teena S.

Yelp
Decent pho. I ordered take away and the food was still hot so that was good. The display of the bowl had a great presentation. Overall, I thought the food was just ok. I ordered the chicken pho. I've had really amazing pho in California so it's hard to beat. I did like how the noodles tasted fresh and I liked how they were a bit thicker vs very thin noodles.

Yelp
Located in Chinatown, this restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside but don't let it fool you. There's a total of three levels, the top level is a bar where most people waited until a table became available. It's where I watched a skilled bartender mix up some very beautiful and tasty cocktails. Decor is funky, a touch of street Vietnamese with a fresh twist. There were lots of attentive staff running it like a well oiled machine. As we were on a time crunch for a musical, they got us in an out within an hour. My Ho Chi Minh cocktail was delicious and refreshing. Food was good as well. Betel wrapped meatballs as the starter packed plenty of flavour. The beef sirloin salad with rice noodles was a big portion for one or good to share. My companion got the same salad but with three kinds of pork. The salad was very light and lacked much punch so you need to spice it up yourself. They bring fish sauce and there are two kinds of chili salsa on the table. Overall it was a great meal in a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely return to sample from their tapas menu.

Yelp
While in London, we wandered around Leicester Square and decided to stay in the area for dinner. To our surprise, we came across a Vietnamese restaurant right in the heart of China town. The outside appearance of Viet food seemed very welcoming and upon entering, we were lead to the mezzanine which is really cozy, especially on a date night. We started of with shrimp crackers, Vietnamese spring rolls with pork and shrimps and a salad as shared appetizers; both dishes were delicious and perfect with a bottle of local beer. For our main, we ordered spicy pork belly, garlic fried rice and chicken Pho to share and the portion size was good for two people. They were delicious and freshly made. The customer service is wonderful and we did not wait that long to be seated. Our food arrived on timely fashion and the staff were genuinely nice and helpful. Probably not the best Vietnamese restaurant in London, but there isn't really anything to hate about it. I will definitely come back!
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian/vegan bun. It was quite large and extremely visual pleasing. It also tasted super fresh and fantastic. They have a ton of seating with multiple floors and everything was really fast. I'd be very happy to come back and try other veggie options. My one point of feedback is the use of disposable chopsticks. Would be great if they used a more sustainable option.
google avatar

Katarina R.

Yelp
So glad we randomly decided to eat here. Surprised that this place doesn't have higher ratings! The food was fresh and flavorful. Vegetarians have more than enough options here. I recommend the vermicelli noodle dish with mixed veggies, the okra, and the veggie curry. The place gets packed, so expect a wait. The ambience is cozy, zen, rustic, and trendy all at the same time. It's an intimate 2 story venue with wooden accents and a charming upstairs patio seating area. Definitely recommend!

Nick K.

Yelp
Consider a visit to this restaurant if you are in the Chinatown area. We enjoyed our family evening meal. 1. We tried a noodle dishes and Pho. Each dish was a reasonable portion and good quality. 2. Service was prompt, friendly and professional 3. I liked the interior decor and atmosphere, it represents a modern Asian vibe.
google avatar

Pamela N.

Yelp
Yum yummy Pho! The staff and deco are super nice and the food was tasty and fresh Good prices for the area tho, I was looking for a good tasty clean food and this place definitely offers that, very happy I came here really good food!

Yelp
**NOT AUTHENTIC VIETNAMESE** I'm giving this place three stars because the service was good. I live in NYC and we have amazing Vietnamese there. Better yet, California has amazing Vietnamese. I feel rather spoiled for having been able to try pho in both places. This place uses thicker noodles than usual and the broth is heavily seasoned with cloves (???). It's really hard to taste anything else but cloves. They kind of skimp on beef as well. For a mediocre glass of wine and a bowl of beef pho, £18 was a little steep. You're in London where there is much better dining options. Go someplace else.
google avatar

Val S.

Yelp
Food was decent. Not that authentic. Flavor of the pho broth was bland. Vietnamese ice coffee tasted like it was water down. Cute restaurant in Chinatown. You can sit in front of the window and people watch while eating.
google avatar

Meike B.

Yelp
This was my second visit and I feel guilty for betraying the more traditional restaurants in China Town. But the benus and pohs at Viet Food are just so much more appealing than the MSG-sodden eat-all-you-like buffets and better value than the a la carte outlets. This end of Wardour Street seems to attract a fair number of new Asian restaurants and Viet Food seems by far the best, hence the return visit. I think I even ordered the same as the chicken curry just looks far too tempting on the picture card to resist. Based on the food alone I would give a four if not five star rating. Unfortunately, this was let down by the service. I asked for tap water with my meal (this really shouldn't be an issue in London anymore) and was reminded that minimum credit cards payments are £10. I confirmed that I would be paying cash but had to remind the waiter a couple of times before my water arrived. I understand that places like this survive on fast turnovers and that freebies are not a priority, but still ...

Yelp
Found this place after a walk through Piccadilly Circus and then Chinatown. We got there a little after 5pm and there was already a little bit of a wait. We waited for perhaps 10-15 minutes, and not before being asked to limit our stay to 75 minutes, which was fine. Hubs and I shared a crispy spring roll appetizer and them both had the Pho Tai (rare beef). The spring rolls were battered in a batter I'm not sure I've ever had before, and it was really, really tasty. The pho was good too, perhaps a bit on the small side for my American eyes. I just had to add a little bit of fish sauce and I was all set. If we're in the neighborhood again, I'd definitely want to come back here. They did a really nice job.

Yelp
What a fantastic find close to the W hotel in China Town, London. Viet Food was a surprisingly great foodie find and delivered in every way. Fast, attentive, friendly service. Amazing, tasty S.E. Asian fare with a special home style twist. The food was fresh, perfectly cooked and sooo tasty! The Octopus Salsa was a favorite! The soft shell crab is the best we've ever had, with big meaty crab pieces, flavored with lime n chili, the grilled pork n bacon, juicy ribs wrapped in bacon with a yummy sauce, was delicious. All in surroundings that effectively transport you to Viet Nam with an upbeat, energetic sound track to enjoy your meal. The bar up on the third floor has sophisticated, creative cocktail choices and friendly bartenders. We love Viet Food! Can't wait to come back.

Chrissy H.

Yelp
I have to say that the food here is average and I'm not sure I would class it as authentic Vietnamese food. The spicy beef soup had an odd flavour which wasn't unpleasant but it wasn't how spicy beef noodles taste in authentic Vietnamese restaurants along kingsland road. It's okay if you want a bite to eat, just don't expect authenticity. The rare beef pho tasted okay, although I had to squeeze a lot of lime into it. It's def better than some of the other "Vietnamese" restaurants I've tried, but doubt I'll be going

Yelp
It's hard to make street food posh. The trailblazer for this up-scale style of Vietnamese food, House of Ho in Soho has just shut despite the backing of a celebrity chef This site used to house a basic Vietnamese restaurant but has just had a makeover. Among the new decorations are cookbooks including one from Slanted Door, a restaurant in San Francisco which this place must be trying to emulate - it's high-end Vietnamese with endless throngs dying to eat there but with eye-watering prices The menu here is lovely. A mixture of street food noodles, specials and tapas style dishes. Its desire to be higher end means four things - smaller portions, beautifully presented food, higher prices but more precise flavours on the palate The pho was lovely. Big, wholesome and hearty. The spring rolls had a very interesting crispy skin. Very enjoyable I got stung by the non alcoholic cocktail though. Great flavours but tiny glass and to add insult to injury, most of it filled with ice. £4.80 is criminal for what I received I'd go back as there are other interesting dishes but I'll stick to water

Yelp
Went to Chinatown to find some dinner and decided to try this vietnamese restaurant since I was missing Vancouver and wanted some pho. Pho here does not have msg which is good but the beefy pho aroma/flavour was a bit of a miss. The pho soup was on the bland side. The portions were not as large as back home (you will still be full) and definitely costs more (£8.80 compared to avg $9.00cad). The beef in the pho actually tasted better than the ones I've had at home in that the beef tasted like thinely sliced, soft tenderloin steak. There wasnt much condiments on the table either such as chili sauce, hoisin sauce, and siracha. It did come with fish sauce however. The ambiance is nice and the restaurant was clean. Service was good and waiter was attentive. Overall I had a good experience.

Yelp
This is posh street food but quite pricey. I really do not understand why when you have a bowl of pho that after a few mouthfuls, you are fishing in the soup for the pho and the meat, because there is not enough thus leaving you wanting and the dish not good value. It is very tasty, but not enough. Take a leaf out of Cafe East, it feels bottomless and really filling. The summer roll is beautifully displayed but the sauce is just not right, they used the same sauce as for crispy duck and added the peanuts and chili, which just does not cut it for me, as it is too savoury. It should be the sweet and sourness of the plum sauce with peanuts and chili. That would be the perfect dip for the summer roll. The dish they do well is the pomelo salad with prawns. This is a dish with many flavours and textures. The citrus juice of the plump pomelo and the plump prawns goes well with the sweetness of the fish sauce and the crispy fried shallots provides the crunchy texture combined with the coolness of the salad of vegetables is such a delicious and delightful dish. They really have got this right. Get a seat facing the window, and you can watch the world go by, which adds to the atmosphere of eating street food.

Yelp
This restaurant has great selection of Asian food. And they serve some appetizers tapas style (small plates) Me and my girlfriend had dinner there. we start with grilled prawns they were cooked to perfection and well seasoned. If you like spicy food I'll definitely recommend you to try their two types of spicy sauce which are red and green. We both had pho they were really good and lots of flavors. If you are looking for good Vietnamese food in London Give them try .

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of a very busy Chinatown, this London based Vietnamese restaurant is a casual affair with some excellent eats on their menu. I came here with Neil C. and family for a quick bite to eat before some Birthday drinks in London and we we're not disappointed. The menu is vast and will suit almost everyone. As a starter I had soft shell crab - which was definitely a stand out dish and was the centre of all food envy on the table! My main course was a dish which comprised of vermicelli noodles and steak. It didn't quite live up to the glory of the crab starter, but was still good nonetheless. A couple of Hanoi beers later we thanked the guys at Viet Food for their hospitality, paid the very moderate bill and left in search of more beer! Hurrah.

Yelp
Summary based on one post theatre dinner. -good food, pretty authentic, though missing some of the typical herbs one sees in Vietnamese cooking -ok prices for area. Accepts credit cards. -friendly staff

Yelp
Nestled in the heart of Chinatown, London, Viet Food is in the ideal location. Only a quick five minute walk can take you to the epicenter of theatre and broadway in London. This restaurant however, is off the beaten path. A family owned business, the food totally reflects that. The recipes there are passed down through generations. The meal I had there was probably the best meal I had during my trip to London. The decor in the restaurant is lovely. Very rustic-chic! The service is just as great as the food. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the world! Ben Catuccio
