Villa Maiella

"Way back in 1966, Ginetta and Arcangelo probably never dreamed for a moment that their modest tavern would become so famous. Nowadays, the Tinari family comprises mother-and-son Angela and Arcangelo in the kitchen, and Peppino and Pascal front of house, all of whom offer guests a warm welcome in their restaurant on the edge of the Parco della Maiella. Here, you’ll enjoy authentic Abruzzo dishes with the occasional surprising and creative twist on three tasting menus (chosen when you make your booking). A good choice also for beer-lovers, with over a thousand different labels available including a wide selection by the glass." - Michelin Inspector

Wonderful restaurant with top food, wine and friendly service in a quiet setting. The dishes are beautifully prepared and exquisite tasting. We tried their pork and lamb focused set and were really impressed with the quality of the ingredients.

An outstanding dining experience with exquisite, thoughtfully constructed courses. The flavors were rich and interesting while still rooted in the locale - very much drawing on the regional cuisine. The service was impeccable. The wine was accessible, easy to match to the menu, particularly with the help of the family at the helm. We opted for the large meal, and would have been well-served to scale down to the medium meal, as the servings were more than adequate and we barely had room to appreciate the final bites.

My Grandfather used to bring us here when we were younger. It deserve to be a Michelin restaurant. The staff is always amazing and the food is excellent. High italian gastronomia! If you are in the Abbruzzo you need to go and try it. The server really tried to explain everything in English to my wife!

This is a modest hotel but has all the essentials, and great WIFI internet. The rooms are average, there is some nice artwork, and very clean. Some of the wall paper needs repair. The air conditioning worked great for us in July. The bathroom was adequate and clean. Small breakfast is provided in the morning with typical pastries, cheese, yogurt, cold cuts, cereal, juice, milk, coffee breads + toaster. No eggs or hot dishes.

Prepare yourself to quite a drive in order to find this little hotel. Rather high on the mountain slope it serves a beautiful view as far as to the Adrian sea. The room was quite small, acceptably clean, the bathroom proportionally more spacious with beautiful tiles and a risky step between the toilet and the washbasin. ||The service was very warm but amateurish. The breakfast was the most modest we had during our long trip around Puglia, Basilicata and Abruzzo. Perhaps because we seemed to be the only guests.....
