Villa Rosa Pizza is a hidden gem that never fails to delight pizza enthusiasts. On my recent visit, I decided to indulge in a classic slice of pepperoni pizza, and it was nothing short of perfection. The moment my slice was handed to me, I was struck by the aroma of freshly baked dough and savory pepperoni. The crust, thin yet sturdy, boasted a golden-brown hue that promised a satisfying crunch with every bite. As I took my first bite, I was greeted by a symphony of flavors that danced across my palate. The crust, expertly crafted and baked to perfection, provided the ideal canvas for the star of the show: the pepperoni. Each slice of this spicy, savory delight was generously adorned with perfectly seasoned pepperoni slices. Their rich, smoky flavor mingled with the tangy tomato sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, creating a taste sensation that was simply irresistible. But what truly set Villa Rosa's pepperoni pizza apart was its The pepperoni, crisped to perfection along the edges, offered a satisfying crunch that gave way to a burst of spicy goodness with every bite. The cheese, melted to gooey perfection, provided the perfect contrast to the crispy crust and zesty sauce. With each bite, I found myself transported to a culinary paradise, where every flavor was perfectly balanced and every texture meticulously crafted. Villa Rosa Pizza has truly mastered the art of pizza-making, and their pepperoni pizza is a testament to their dedication to quality and flavor. If you're in the mood for a slice of pizza perfection, look no further than Villa Rosa Pizza. Whether you're a die-hard pizza lover or simply craving a taste of culinary excellence, Villa Rosa Pizza is sure to exceed your expectations.

The Two Young ladies at the front counter ( Maria and Carolyn ) were very very helpful and attentive... They took very good care of me ... The food was great it was cooked the way I like it, The pasta El dente.... with the meat sauce....and there was plenty of it..... Prices are very reasonable, you always get more than your money's worth.... All around great experience every time..... Keep up the great work !

Most expensive (almost $30.00) large pizza in the area and too salty 🤮. P.D. It was jalapenos and they were rancid, like from a can. P.D. 2 What's with the Technology Fee? It's a scam. They prefer you pay cash to evade paying taxes. P.D. Hasta la vista baby !!!

Used to be a very good pizza! Finally went back after a few years and pizza quality isn't the same and prizes are through the roof. Won't be returning..

I ordered a Jumbo sausage garlic crust last for dinner it was delicious the whole house love it, the sausage was good not microwave tasting the bread dough was not heavy or big and fluffy it was just right, And I traveled from the 290 area to pick it up.

Don’t listen to the bad reviews. These people have no clue what they’re talking about. I have been getting this place ever since I was a little kid and even my late grandparents Have gotten it all their life. Just got it today and I’m 30 years old now and this literally taste exactly the same like I used to. 5/5 To be honest.

Google
I ordered 2 pasta dinners, 1 was lasagna with extra meat balls, it was fresh made, the sauce was very tasty. The issue I had with this item the the container was over flowing and soaked the bottle of the bag. Maybe the meatballs should have went in a different container. Luckily I put it on the floor of the car with had a mat, if I put it on my seat, there would have been a cleaning bill to discuss. The 2nd pasta dish was Chicken Pomodoro, the pasta was dry, the chicken was dry. To me it was not fresh made, but my guess, reheated. The was my 2nd visiting Villa Rosa, the 1st time was a pizza, which was awesome. I will go back again.

Google
Ordered two cheese slices to go. Small, dry, salty, and meh. Usually don't reach for the ranch but needed it on this. $11 for two slices? Disappointed and missing the old Villa Rosa. A shell of what it was. Got to Rosatis by Peaches for a slice.

Yelp
Take out food was still hot after a 20 minute drive home. The chicken carbonara and lasagna entrees were large portions and very delicious. This place is highly recommended.

Yelp
I Always Go To Villa Rosa Pizza They Made An Exceptional Pizza And The Clerk Behind The Register Is So Nice And Helpful Btw The Pizza Is out of This World Yummy

Aaron D.

Yelp
This place here is my favorite pizza place in Chicago, by far!!! The times I do get to stop in, the girls in their are so help and hilarious. Liz and Carolyn was fantastic, and they always make me feel great that I chose pizza on a lazy Saturday night.

Chas L.

Yelp
I Used to go there 3 - 4 times a week the Food was Great............ They Lost the Best Cook they had.. Gustavo...He was a Great Chef and Knew how to Cook Italian Food!....... Their New Cooks Know Nothing about Italian Food

Yelp
They closed for remodeling for an unexpected amount of time and re opened recently and it is definitely not the same. The indoor eating area is a lot smaller now, we sat down to eat a while ago and was brought out paper plates to eat our food with which was very questionable. The past couple times I have gone in to pick up my order and place my order on the phone I was encountered with quite literally the rudest staff ever. The girls at the front desk are very unfriendly and antisocial; they never greet anyone as they enter, the girl brought out my pizza and placed it on the counter next to the register and told me have a good day, couldn't even hand the pizza to me. The most recent experience I had I had placed an online order and was given an error message so I tried to place the order a second time and another error message so I called it in and was charged then I got off the phone and looked at my bank account to see that they had charged me both times for when my order "didn't go through" and a 3rd time for the phone order, when i spoke with a manager they told me "oh yeah sometimes our website is messed up like that" ??????? Took about 3 weeks for the charges to clear and the money to go back into my account. My final straw with them was the other day; i ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and bacon, the bacon was very fatty and the pizza was beyond lackluster, as for my BONELESS wings, I took a bite into one and felt a crunch to my surprise there was a huge bone in the chicken. I cannot justify any of this nonsense for the food anymore, the quality in ingredients has gone way down the pizza does not taste the same. Very Disappointing Villa Rosa, what happened!!!??

Yelp
Pizza is good ,service is less than average . I tried to order soma appetizers ,& were out of stock on many items .Thats poor planning.

Jim A.

Yelp
Pasta is terrible a can on spaghetti oos Is what it taste like don't even try any pasta

Steve G.

Yelp
I'm so happy that Villa Rosa reopened up, for years all we ever ordered from was Villa Rosa, for ourselves and whenever we had parties and everyone would comment on how good the pizza is and where it's from. We just recently ordered a pizza and it was just as good if not better then ever, once again, we are so happy Villa Rosa is back in business.

Antoinette J.

Yelp
Where is Villa Rosa? What did I just eat? Is this a joke? What's up with this cheese? Ugh, never again.

Derek H.

Yelp
I made an order for 3 pizzas they told me it would be an hour. So I am on my way there (A few blocks away) I get call from Villa Rosa and they said their system had dropped our ticket. They could put in the order and it be another 40 min. And for our inconvenience they would give us a free 2 liter of Pepsi. No one in my house drinks Pepsi. I think when you have a 75 dollar order and they offer you a 2 dollar product that you don't want is pretty cheap or unaware of the customer's wants. I didn't want to go home and then sit for 5 minutes and then drive back. I would have been happy with some kind of discount. I canceled this order and went somewhere else.

O D.

Yelp
Same great tasting Pizza for over 30 years had it last night and love it . Will definitely recommend and continue to order from Villa Rosa !

Andrea B.

Yelp
I ordered chicken wings, fries and pizza from here and I had gotten an allergic reaction after I ate the food, and I'm allergic to seafood. The only thing I had ate from the order was chicken wings. So I'm unsure if they're using the same oil to fry the chicken and fish in but they need to do a better job not to cross contaminate their items.

Joseph R.

Yelp
They are back and better than ever , I recommend the ribs and the villa rosa special (pizza with everything), and fried shrimp .

Irene W.

Yelp
Ordered a jumbo pizza and large fries from them, There was a 2 hour delivery wait, which I didn't mind since they just reopened. Pizza and fries arrived ice cold and the crust tasted like cardboard, super dry. Waste of money.

Yelp
Wife and I stopped here on a Saturday night at around 8:00pm. The inside looks totally different and seems to be more oriented towards pickup than dine in just based on the limited amount of tables I noticed within the small dining area. We placed our order and had a seat at one of the few tables within the restaurant. As we sat there waiting for our food, we noticed something not only very interesting but also very consistent. The telephone rang several times and many of those calls seemed to be from customers who had placed orders earlier that evening and were inquiring about where their food was. We listened (believe me, the place is so small now you can't help but hear everything) as a couple of different employees gave some pretty colorful replies to the customers on the other end of the phone. It made me glad that we were actually dining in and had not ordered delivery. Overall, the pizza was quite good but the entire customer service thing was pretty much lacking as displayed by the way several transactions were handled by the employees. I've read the previous reviews about this place and I must say that they are pretty accurate. To be a successful and in demand business, one cannot rely on product alone. The employees (customer service) must also be top notch and sometimes even go above and beyond in order to compete with other businesses of a similar type.

Yelp
Updating my review.Guys,I am SOOOOO SORRY!! I totally neglected to tell you guys that Villa Rosa is BYOB on my original review(probably because I was BUZZED.) Lmbooooo!!! Im here again NOW!!! Anthony D.

Yelp
It's closed now !! Don't know why but it doesn't matter not the same as before anyway !!

Vanessa C.

Yelp
I tried this pizza for the first time , didn't want the standard like Beggars, i was looking for Authentic Pizza flavor , well the toppings were plentiful but the sauce was sparse and not flavorful , i doubt if i will be a return customer. Oh the cannoli was good

Alyssa G.

Yelp
DO NOT ORDER YOUR FOOD HERE! We had a scheduled delivery for 6:30p. We called because our food was 20mim late. We spoke to a woman on the phone who said they couldn't give me a delivery time and that our food was still waiting for us. We asked to speak to a manager and was left on hold. I called back to ask if we can just pick it up, they placed me on hold again, and finally said it was fine. We go to pick up our food to be told it was not ready! There were other people there waiting for over an hour for there orders. We asked to speak to a manager and he was in the back complaining about how terrible his day was. He also was telling the employees to stop answering calls for catering. We finally get home to have our late dinner, and the chicken was undercooked! Completely disappointed and saddened that we will not be ordered from Villa Rosa after many years of going there.

Rainbow B.

Yelp
The fact that you guys don't deliver to a black neighborhood less than 10 minutes away is kind of racist to me but hey it is what it is and ya open to late on weekdays

Jacqueline F.

Yelp
We decided to give Villa Rosa another try since we hadn't ordered in quite some time. We ordered a large half pepperoni half sausage and a chicken Parmigiano. Sadly the pizza was terrible, crust tasted so much like yeast, barely any sauce or cheese and canned mushrooms, come on! I've had better frozen pizza, chicken parm had weird orange colored sweet sauce and the chicken seemed old. Worst of all so overpriced! Never again.

Steven S.

Yelp
Great Pizza Sometimes, not consistent and Very Over Priced the Guy Owns Danny's Pizza also so I Guess he tries to corner the Market in this Area.

Rozalynn B.

Yelp
I've been meaning to get here for about 2yrs now! Finally near them and definitely wanted to try them out. Really glad I checked them out. I ordered on a Friday afternoon at like 3. I was advised 30mins and it took about that. My pizza was ready when I arrived. I devoured it in the car lol. I live 30mins away, plus Friday traffic. No need to play games I was a starving chick! The pizza I got was a small sausage, extra sauce, well done. PERFECTO!!!!!! NO COMPLAINTS. $12 bucks for a solid pie! Service was ok. I didn't have any issues. Hope this continues.

Michael M.

Yelp
The pizza is not the same as it use to be pizza is terrible there's no taste to it there sandwiches are terrible to there meatballs sandwiche is aways burn it's just no taste to it either. there chicken parmesan is bad There breaded steak sandwich is also terrible it's very stale and it's away burn there Alfredo it's terrible there's no taste to it only thing that's good about. Is there that is very good and their egg plant sandwich is very delicious and their poppers is not bad either

Jesus D.

Yelp
Went for dinner the other day because Dannys was way to packed, the staff is great but pizza was not good at all too salty but yet no flavor not sure what happened I am assuming when it was bought off they didnt get the exact recipe ? I believe Dannys and villa rosa are by the same corporation they should just use dannys recipe. Tha place was dead, back in the day we had to wait to be seated on a Friday night because the food and pizza was really good NOT ANYMORE !was reAnother good pizza joint selling out and going down. Thank god we have lots of pizza joint around this place wont be missed if it closes down or maybe thats the point ?.. one more over prized 26$ for a medium 2 topping pizza !

Theresa N.

Yelp
Small place, lots of people coming here for takeout. Villa Rosa is where the locals go. Our pizza was amazing. The cheese was fresh and flavorful. We asked for extra sauce on the suggestion of another Yelper and we are glad we did. We ordered a Rosa's special and asked for black olives as an extra ingredient. People were staring at our pizza as it was delivered - there was easily two cups of black olives atop the pizza - I ended up taking off more than I left on. So if you order extra ingredients, keep in mind you will get a LOT of it. You might want to say "easy on the extra ingredient" unless you want a ton of it. We loved the pizza so much that we took the leftovers on a 2 hr plane ride and ate the rest when we got home. It was piled high with ingredients, the cheese was fresh and flavorful, and the crust was sturdy to hold everything. Friendly and accommodating service, from the counter guys to the waitresses. Parking is tight so we parked across the street around the corner. I would come here again in a heartbeat.

Susan M.

Yelp
Oh Villa Rosa! How did I not know how delicious you are!!?? My goodness, I'm full from the most perfect rigatoni aglio e olio w chicken and broccoli. We also ordered a meatball sammich covered in mozzarella. The meatballs are amazing, tender and so tasty. Everything was over the top wonderful!

Susan F.

Yelp
Had lunch here again on Saturday. Hubby and I both ordered a Caesar salad - excellent. Hubby had chicken slices - right out of the oven - seasoned so well and juicy and tender. I would definitely like to try a chicken dish now (other than the Parm). He had a cheeseburger in a lettuce bun - HUGE!! I had the spaghetti aglio olio and it was wonderful. PLUS we got a FREE medium cheese pizza to go for signing up for the birthday club. Wonderful meal with plenty of delicious leftovers. Thank you, Villa Rosa!

abe A.

Yelp
MUST TRY! Talk about great food. My guys and I, spontaneously ordered food for the NFL games. Just outstanding.

Anne C.

Yelp
One of the best pizza places on the south side. This place has been around for more than 50 years and it never disappoints. Pizza is still the same but BETTER. The sauce and the crust is so DELICIOUS...

Stephen M.

Yelp
First time ordering, had it delivered. Young lady on the phone was pleasant, delivery was on time. At least 4 stars. Would have given more but they do not put garlic in the pizza, had to order it separately which is OK but I always thought garlic was a staple of pizzas

Tracy L.

Yelp
I had an issue with an employee but the manager took care of it. I have been a loyal customer and enjoy this pizza. Giving it another chance.

James F.

Yelp
My wife and I tried this pizza place in Garfield ridge just recently. I'd like to say it's just ok. We did carry out. And in my life I've tried a lot of pizza. This pizza was a different type of crust. And I can't say I liked it. Sausage was good and cheese was good with the sauce. But nothing I'd be running back to buy again. Am I a pizza snob no but this is Chicago and a certain crust seems to work well with many a pizza places. This one at Villa Rosa I'd didn't care for and you ask why? Well it wasn't crispy and was kind of blah. It reminded me of a pizza place in states that have awful pizza that are chains in a college town. The order was right the food was just ok. It's not an Obbies or Danny's or Piasans's. Nothing about it would make me want to have it again. You hear people refer to this as good pub pizza. I guess if your a beer drinker and you mix the two then sure anything tastes better when enjoying a beer. The price for the quality and taste doesn't go together as well. A better product would yield the cost we paid but not what we ate. It wasn't normal good for Chicago pizza in a neighborhood with so many great pizza places. It doesn't make sense that this place has been around for as many years as they say with a product like this. Maybe after all these years it's time to rethink pizza. I would because you definitely don't see the foot traffic that the other pizza places in the neighborhood do.

Lisa B.

Yelp
Amazing chicken Vesuvio! Love it! The portion is great for the price. I order from them quite often.

Sabrina R.

Yelp
Ever since Covid the food and service has gone downhill at Villa Rosa. They have now changed it to self serve I ordered a pizza and soda. The soda was flat they gave me a can But only one. I decided to take the pizza home so I could have more than one soda and it tasted like cardboard. Even Domino's Pizza's better than this place now

Lupe G.

Yelp
After trying different places surrounding this area, I keep wanting more plain old neighborhood pizza and this place is the place! I'm so glad my sister and brother in law turned me onto it!

Aprilina B.

Yelp
We ordered a large stuffed pepperoni pizza, which we've gotten from here twice before since discovering this place. Never any problems with delivery and the pizza is very good. I actually prefer going here to Giordano's now. The ratio of sauce to cheese to crust is just right for my liking. This time, the delivery driver must have been in a hurry or something because our pizza was a little...off. We called and they made us another, which we decided to pick up. They apologized and threw in a free 2 liter soda. Great customer service, which you don't see a lot of these days. This hasn't spoiled our new found love for this place and we will continue to enjoy their pizza.

Shaip M.

Yelp
I am giving this place 1 not for the pizza(they have the best tasting around)but the new owner(Polish guy) raised the price at least 4 times in the last 2yrs!! There pizza is officially more than a filet mignon dinner! After 25yrs of ordering here i am done with there outrageous pizza charges, i hope he gets sick and is forced to sell it to someone with a little bit more respect to once lifelong customers! If you win the little lotto, feel free to order here(or save the receipt and give it to your accountant to claim on your taxes

Michele D.

Yelp
Just left for in person dining. After years and years of being a patron of this business, not only in person but catering, I was appalled to find out they have turned into a fast food sit down restaurant! No waitress...order at counter. Prices have doubled and do not include soup or salad anymore with entree. Handed plastic utensils to eat a hot meal! Food is definitely not as good as years ago! Basically say goodbye to indoor dining Villa Rosa! If I am going to go to a restaurant to relax and have a nice meal. I will go where there are waitresses otherwise I might as well go to Mc Donalds. I will no longer be eating here. Not sure if they will make it as carry out only, but good luck!

Neptali J.

Yelp
Prices have increased lately "a lot" and Pizza is not the same as in the past sorry but gonna have to look for a new Pizza spot ?

Charles L.

Yelp
Love there pizza love everything els they have also Love the scenery love the service The workers make me feel like I'm family always have a seat for me if you're a regular customer they would save a seat for you Price is not that bad I recommend anybody to come back here all the time and making your pizza as well

Alan K.

Yelp
I am surprised at some of the negative reviews about Villa Rosa Pizza. Whenever I am in town, I come to Villa Rosa Pizza for some delicious deep dish Chicago pizza since it is so close to Midway Airport. Their pizza rivals that of Lou Malnati's without the long wait. You can tell that the owners of this place have been in the pizza business for a very long time and have mastered the art of pizza making. Writing this review is making me hungry for their mushroom and pepperoni deep dish pizza. I remember it like it was yesterday. The crust was thick and buttery, while the remainder of the pizza was filled with hot delectable cheese and my chosen toppings. If you want to salivate over a good Chicago deep dish pizza, you'll have to stop by Villa Rosa!

Damian P.

Yelp
What did we do? Was really in the mood for pizza but of course we couldn't find a menu. What do you know? We found this spot because of a flyer that was stuck to the door outside. Well, I should of left it. Tuna encased pizza! What was the partner thinking? Tuna belongs in a can not on pizza. At first I was like ewwww, really? Than I did try a slice, it was an acquired taste of course. Would I ever try it again, OH NO! It was too tuna eeeee. I was not impressed in the least with taste, texture and downright smell of the tuna. The partner did order a week later some regular pizza, you know sausage, cheese, onions and the works. And although it was not the drop dead pizza I am used to from these spots, it was not super bad, hence the three stars. If you want a regular pizza and nothing fancy but a pizza, than order from here, thats all I can say.

Lori S.

Yelp
This is the local family restaurant, not like those franchise places. Pizza is great, seasoned really well. We like to get the thick crust or stuffed pizza. It's not to big inside, but there always seems to be a table. Love the tortellini alfredo! We also have ordered their fries, onions rings, combination platter, and jalapeño poppers all were great tasting! There's plenty of street parking on Archer Ave, but if you don't want to pick it up the wait time for delivery has always been decent.

Kendra R.

Yelp
Neighborhood spot that was recommended and I finally ordered and I'm really disappointed I didn't order sooner. The pizza was amazing crispy thin crust with loads of toppings and delicious. Also I asked for crispy fries and they arrived crispy on a Friday night which is rare. This place is a gem

Alejandro A.

Yelp
Ive had the pizza from here 6 times now and I love it. Brings me back to what Home Run Inn used to taste like and its pretty similar to Falcos. Ive tried 4 or 5 different pizza places in and around the Midway area and Villa Rosa is by far my favorite. Unfortunately, theyre closed on Mondays so I wasnt able to fill my urge for it. Aside from that, no real complaints to be said

Ann Marie J.

Yelp
Was packed and expected it to be good. Will never go back. Below average. So close to home too.

Michael P.

Yelp
The pizza here is great but come on I ordered from here multiple times and always make a decent order money wise because the food is awesome. But you guys really let me down today you guys call me and canceled my order because "you guys never delivered to my area" lies i have receipts to prove it such a let down.
