Villa Sal

Villa Sal is a unique and beautiful accommodation! We stayed over for 10 days and extremely enjoyed our stay. The apartment is tastefully decorated with high quality amenities that you might need for a long stay, loads of thoughtful touches to ensure guests with a high comfort level (extra towels, beach towels, snorkelers, adapters, sanitary measures, masks etc). Located in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to the other parts of the island. The hosts are very responsive and will assist with any recommendation. Highly recommend this apartment to ensure an elevated vacation experience.

Spectacular ocean front views! The Villa is super comfortable with all the amenities you may need. Very nicely decorated and very clean. The Villa has a perfect location to explore the island and the natural pools just some steps away from the house are an amazing add-on! Very good local restaurants steps away as well! We highly recommend staying at Villa Sal!

Staying in Villa Sal is an incredible and authentic experience not to be missed. The villa is right by the sea in Lagoa, a charming seafront town where the houses are painted different pastel shades. The view from every room in the villa is of the sea, and it's extra special because the two balconies on the top floor has glass doors that can be opened up completely, so you see, feel and smell the sea from the rooms. The decor and design of the villa is beautiful. You can see alot of love went into the design with attention to even the smallest details and the overall look is luxury and charm. I stayed in the 2 bedroom villa, it has a fully equipped kitchen that we used to make breakfast and some dinners, huge toilet with two sinks and a shower, and extra amenities like snorkels and beach towels. Walking 2 minutes from the villa, we found the natural swimming pools which is a local hidden gem and a highlight of our days in Azores. It was such a great feeling to just walk to the pools from our villa without nothing but swimsuit, snorkel and towels. And just around the corner of the villa is a highly recommended seafood restaurant. We felt like we were experiencing a magical side of Azores which only locals know. This villa truly added magic to our stays in Azores, one of the best stays we've ever experienced and we would love to come back with friends again.

These kind of places are why I love private holiday houses. The kind of quirky, unique, unconventional places that you’d probably never live in, but you would never find at a hotel. Villa Sal has been brilliantly and stylishly refurbished. Everything is of very high quality - the bedding, the shower, the room etc - but has also been thoughtfully furnished to offer any visitor a really easy, welcoming stay. Plenty of towels, robes etc, and a well equipped kitchen. We stayed for a week and loved it, and all that Sao Miguel had to offer. Check in/out was super easy, and the hosts were great, very attentive. If you like your accommodation with stunning sea views, a bit of personality and character whilst having your home comforts, don’t hesitate to book.

Highly recommended! Villa sal was the perfect choice for our visit in São Miguel. It is located in Lagos, which is a small town in the middle of the island. It made traveling around (by car) much easier. Moreover, the Villa itself has everything that you need, including good vibes :) We truly enjoyed coming back to that place at the end of every day. And of course - Mario the host was very nice and helping!

I was lucky to call Villa Sal my home for more than a month. It was one of the best places I have ever stayed at: very beautifully decorated, a gorgeous ocean view, quiet, yet close to "everything". I would recommend it to everyone. Also, the owners are just amazing people. :) A delightful encounter.

Let me start by saying this is definitely one of the best places I’ve ever stayed in. Beautiful house, amazing decor, with gorgeous views, super comfortable and pristinely clean! Villa Sal has all the commodities, is family friendly, and the location is top notch! Mário and Filipa are so nice and so welcoming! They went above and beyond to help us feel at home, gave us the best tips and coolest places to go that only locals know about! I recommend Villa Sal to anyone who’s visiting Azores for the first time! You won’t regret!

My partner and I stayed at Villa Sal (2 bedroom apartment, there is another 1 bedroom apartment which has a shared laundry) for the month of December 2020, we escaped London COVID-19 lockdown. Owners Mario and Filipa were super helpful and accomodating throughout our stay, communication was easy (particularly for English only speaking guests). We communicated via WhatsApp mostly. Whatever we required was sorted quickly, Mario gave recommendations for good value car rental/activities, restaurants and general advice on the island which was very helpful. For those who need to work remotely, the WiFi is strong (around 100 MB/S) and dedicated (we had no issues during the month). It's strongest downstairs by the router, signal loss upstairs is not too significant. The sea and sunset views are awesome, you have within a few minutes walk restaurants (recommend Capitão!), small supermarket (large Continente supermarket with a wide food selection is 5 mins drive away, has bio/health goods), pharmacy and gym/indoor pool. The natural ocean pool (free) was a highlight for us and 5 mins walk from the apartment. The apartment is spacious, had everything we needed for the stay (even plastic food storage) and centrally located (you will need a rental car but this is the case for anywhere you wish to stay on the island). Although everyone was taking precautions due to COVID-19, there is alot of space so social distancing not much of a concern and we felt really safe. The island and Villa Sal were very relaxing, weather was generally mild (although it does vary alot and being winter a fair amount of rain but it passes and there was still sunny hours and days). We loved our stay and highly recommend Villa Sal!!
