The 17 Best Happy Hours In Nashville 2024

"WHEN: Every day, 4-6pm (beer+wine) + Mule Mondays THE DEAL: Half-priced draft beer, $5 select wines, half-priced mules on Mule Monday Village Pub & Beer Garden feels like walking into your friend’s house—no really, the building is quite literally an old home. Inside, you’ll see shelves lined with board games and old books, along with several rooms and lots of regulars chatting up the staff. Hang out for a round of Trivial Pursuit with some old friends, or grab a seat at the bar by yourself because you’ll probably make new ones quickly. All of the beers at Village Pub are half-priced during Happy Hour, but Mule Mondays are the best." - adam sloan

Google
Love this cozy spot in East Nashville. Amazing food and drinks with a nice covered patio or open air beer garden on a nice day. Got the Buffalo Chicken Nachos and Reuben sandwich. Both were outstanding!

Google
love this place! people leaving bad reviews because it is 21+ are entitled brats. Beer rotation always has something for everyone, food is good and usually quick. I love the BBQ on the pretzel bun and wife usually gets a bowl/salad.

Phene Wardlaw

Google
This is such a cute spot! Some friends and I went here for a drink and got some pub nachos and they even have a dog menu. The watermelon spicy margarita was unreal. I am curious to go back and try more food but the brownie is something of dreams. It comes out warm 🥲

Mother Shucker

Google
I love this place! The staff are super friendly and they love dogs so much! Pretzels and beer cheese were excellent, as was the carnitas nachos (today's special). We will definitely be back next time we're in town.

Google
Just got lucky and stumbled upon this amazing little bar. The vibes are immaculate but the best part was our bartender, Emily. Emily took amazing care of us- had on the cutest clothes (I think she said they’re from Nuuly if you’re curious) and talked about her dog who had the best name- BEANS. Come here, bring your dog, and be a nice person!

Google
For those looking for a review - East Nashville native here. If you want reasonably priced beer and food that tastes amazing with a chill patio vibe that never feels overcrowded, even when the place is full, this is your spot. The pretzels and beer cheese are incredible. The rest of this review is for those in charge of the menu at the pub: PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT SPRING MIX BACK IN THE SALADS INSTEAD OF ROMAINE. Listen, I'm not a picky gal. I'm not even a huge salad person, but the southwest salad is my favorite salad. from anywhere. ever. One would think romaine is a perfectly acceptable alternate to spring mix. I did when I saw the change. So I get it. But then I ate it and was disappointed. More than disappointed - I DIDN'T LIKE IT. I tried! I love a romaine! But the problem is I had the perfect version of the salad. Now it's not the same. It's too watery. Tastes like an iceberg lettuce. So, please. I beg you. bring back the spring mix. please don't make me have to make this salad at home. Thank you, I love you. please don't ever change. literally :D

Google
Great spot, inside seating includes a small bar area and several side rooms. Outside seating includes around the deck and patio with umbrellas and heaters when needed. Real good beverage menu includes plenty of crafts. Solid food menu, pretzel sticks and buns lead the way. All well prepared. Service very friendly. Area can be busy, good parking around pub.

Google
My favorite pub in East Nashville. The pretzels here are incredible -- served piping hot, they are soft, fluffy, and yeasty. Both the potato salad and potato chips are very good -- I have trouble choosing between the sides every time. They have a $7 mule menu and different drink specials every day of the week. They are also super dog friendly -- the patios are heated and there are water bowls with a pitcher to fill it for dogs. They even have dog treats and rawhide bones to purchase!

Yelp
The salads are top notch!! The folks bringing the food, drinks, recommendations are amazing! When the weather is nice, the outside vibe is where it's at!

Yelp
Best neighborhood bar. Amazing drinks, pub pretzels, and the salads. Me and my friends are officially turning this into our 'cheers' location, we love going for happy hours and five dollar mimosas
google avatar

Lana B.

Yelp
Love it here!! New go to for sure. Seat yourself made it easy for our large group to have two tables next to eachother. Dog friendly, porch/patio area on the side that's shaded and a open patio concept in the front. 1/2 off draft beers and select wine was a big plus. Their bloody mary was great and served with pepperocini, olives, and a pickle. Chicken salad salad was just what i needed on a sunday after eating some greasy food all weekend. Went here for the first time a few weeks ago and have now been here three times.

Yelp
Love this pub for being 21 and older as well as being in my neighborhood within walking distance. However, the food has not impressed me. Went one time and ordered the nachos - had stomach issues for the next 24 hours. Went earlier this week and ordered the southwestern salad with the impossible patty. The menu doesn't list this salad as a spicy salad or else I wouldn't have ordered it. The salad had jalapeños in it making it intolerable for me to eat. I asked the bartender (extremely tall and slender guy) about it and told him it was too spicy for me. His response: oh yeah it has jalapeños in it - didn't offer to get me a new dish, just continued to assist others. This was disappointing.

Yelp
We stayed in an Air B&B not far from this restaurant. It became our go to for an evening stop because of the outdoor atmosphere, the staff, and the appetizers. They have a really great (dog friendly) outdoor seating area and the waitresses were all very nice. The beer selection is a little on the small side, but they have cocktails too. This felt homey while we were visiting Tennessee. I'd recommend checking it out, if we're ever back in the area we would absolutely visit again.

Yelp
Went here during a business trip. Really enjoyed the visit as they had great craft beer on tap and solid food. For appetizer had the pretzel sticks with beer cheese. Awesome choice!! Service solid and offered lots of great suggestions. The ambiance was really cool too. Honestly kind of felt like I was in my grandmas house. Cool old school vibe. Would definitely go back.
google avatar

Bethany W.

Yelp
Would not recommend! Everything smelled spoiled and soured from the interior, to the patio, the weird water station right down to the waiters. Absolutely disgusting. Additionally the food was horrendous and everyone in our party left with a terrible stomach ache. This place should be inspected by the health inspector because it is rancid.
google avatar

Dustin H.

Yelp
Love the while vibe here. It definitely has a "neighborhood pub" vibe. Plenty of free parking. Clean and old school. Great beer and cocktail selection with good prices and specials. Each day has a different deal. Our server was fantastic. We just had drinks and appetizers this time but will be back for a full meal soon! My wife loved the Espresso Martini which she said was really strong. I stuck with a few local beers.
google avatar

Yelp
Great staff very solid beer menu and food was great - pretzel based buns were awesome
google avatar

Raegan B.

Yelp
Riverside Village Pub is out go-to patio! Their Mule Mondays are the perfect excuse for an afternoon cocktail. Service is always great, and they nailed the neighborhood-pub feel. The pretzels are popular, deservingly so, but salads are HUGE and delicious.

Rachel P.

Yelp
This was a cute little place! We sat inside and it was nice and quiet. Service was great and the food was awesome. Definitely will be back!
google avatar

Brenden M.

Yelp
Good beer and good service. Came for happy hour (4-6) and they have half priced draft beers, a great deal! It was pretty crowded when I showed up on a Monday just after 5 so a good spot for after work
google avatar

Jay I.

Yelp
Village Pub: where the salads are surprisingly good, but let's be real, we're all here for the beer and the pretzels drowning in cheese. It's like a balanced diet, but funnier.
google avatar

Kelly M.

Yelp
Good food, but you are really there for the atmosphere. It is definitely a local's spot and can be very busy so be prepared to wait. Parking was easy, which is a rarity in the area. Service was a bit slow, but they were also quite busy. Not sure it is my type of place, but there is certainly nothing wrong with it either.

Yelp
From the moment Frank greeted us to the moment we left, amazing experience. Found this spot on maps while trying to feed two hungry(beautiful) ladies. Which is always a dicey situation. One a definite pretzel aficionado. Me. Frank said the special sammich of the day and I had no choice but to go for it. And without doubt, top five best sandwich of my life!! Every trip back to town will now involve Village Pub & Beer garden. A stop reading this and just go enjoy.

Yelp
Food is good. Beers are good. Service is good. Atmosphere is great. Love that it's for locals. Perfect meetup spot with friends.

Yelp
This place is awesome! We stopped in during our trip through Nashville and loved it. The staff is friendly, food is great, music on point and the champagne pours are generous. A very unique little spot with excellent vibes

Yelp
Been here twice on new years. Very good environment of people and workers. I don't drink, but it was late night and we wanted some simple food. The food was great
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
Wow the food here is great! We chose to eat here due to it being open late, and it was the right choice! Food here is better than average bar food, and drinks seem upscale as well. I love that the menu had excellent non-alcoholic choices that still make you feel fancy! I tried the Mary mocktail (grapefruit based) and it was delicious. The beer garden seems like a great place to spend with friends, and it is huge! I have to rave on the salad. I tried the chipotle chicken salad, and it was a huge portion! (Two meals worth) The chicken was perfectly cooked (albeit cold, fine with me, it's on a salad, we were dining late as well) and flavorful. The salad came loaded with toppings and an excellent avocado ranch. I can't wait to try more of the menu offerings. This place is wonderful.

Yelp
I met some of the coolest people at Village Pub! Definitely recommend; great food, great ambiance. I recommend a mule and pretzel bites!!

Bill J.

Yelp
Great neighborhood pub. Lots of dogs. Friendly staff. Good salads - I like the chicken salad salad the most.

Yelp
I just signed a lease on an apartment in East Nashville and came over here with my sister for a quick bite after spending time cleaning the new digs. Oh wow, I found my neighborhood Pub. To start, the waitress, Emily, was lovely. Then, the Sour Jam was refreshing and hit the spot. Now, about the southwestern chicken salad. It is so good and so filling - and that dressing, yum! It arrived at our table right after my beer did. I will be back many times...as many as I have to in order to be considered a regular.

M M.

Yelp
The staff was so friendly and the bar has a very cool, local vibe. The food was yummy!

Megan B.

Yelp
Food and service was amazing. Must try if you are going to Nashville. Pretzel Sandwich was to die for

Annie M.

Yelp
Love this spot! An amazing outdoor area and atmosphere with great beer selection and classic food! It's bar food but elevated!
google avatar

Jackie D.

Yelp
This place is delicious! The pulled pork pretzel bun sandwich in particular is the bomb! $5 mimosas on Sunday! One of my favorite places to have stumbled upon here in Nashville!

Paige H.

Yelp
Lovely ambiance, great half price happy hour, delicious food. What more could you want? They have nice outdoor seating with heaters and many people bring their dogs. The servers were knowledgeable and attentive. We will definitely be coming back
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot, walkable pub what more could you ask? Please can you change to menu occasionally? Only so much beer cheese and pretzels one can eat!
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Enjoyed a happy hour last week at Village Pub. First time there but really loved the neighborhood vibe there. Got a great waiter who checked on us and refilled our tall beers when they were low and just before happy hour ended. We ordered some food as well-I got the black bean burger and it was sooo good on that pretzel bun. My happy hour mate got the pretzels and cheese and enjoyed them as well. Great beer selection and fantastic food that compliments it well.
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
As a local, I absolutely love this place in winter. However, the fact that they have a "smoking section" outside in tolerable outdoor seasons is unacceptable. I did not request lung cancer when requesting to sit outside just to enjoy a nice day. I didn't request to smell like an ash tray. Get rid of smoking in your outdoor seating. Require people for the sake of public health go smoke elsewhere offsite. It's literally disgusting. The end.
google avatar

Mason A.

Yelp
I'm from out of town and when I travel I like to experience local if I can. This place was extremely neat. Small menu so it kind of pushes you to make a choice which I enjoy. Great music and patio area. The wait was just a smidge long but it didn't look like there was a lot of wait staff working. Music and atmosphere was casual and fun so it was very enjoyable. My waitress was kind and very knowledgeable of the menu! Anyone I interacted with was incredibly nice. Y'all the pretzels and beer cheese!!!! Oh my goodness it was incredible. Salty and cheesy and just perfect! I also love soft pretzels and cheese though so this played VERY well!
google avatar

Jordanne L.

Yelp
Highlights: Great drinks, yummy food, simple menu, relatively long wait time between drinks and dinner. Village Pub & Beer Garden is a little place in East Nash that knows exactly what it is. Outdoor, dog friendly seating is what initially drew me in, and the delicious margarita kept me happy during the rather long wait for my salad. The staff was friendly & followed COVID procedure well! They have an all-day Monday Happy Hour on their mules that I'm going to have to check out next week.

Josh B.

Yelp
Great food, great service, and a honest men! Frank, the bartender, is one of the best in town. Ask him a question about the menu and he won't disappoint.. Happy hour 4-6 and the mimosas were incredible! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Frank H.

Yelp
Really nice "local!" We came during a happy hour and thought the value was very reasonable (1/2 price drafts are always a good thing). The bartender and server we had were both friendly. The beers we had were good, though I wouldn't mind a few more options to live up to it's name of being a pub/beer garden. We didn't try and food, so I'm not sure how that is, but at least there are some options on the menu. For some reason I thought they just had pretzels, but they have sandwiches and more (check out the menu). I like that there's bar seating, a few different areas to sit inside, and there is seating outside as well. Lastly, there's a good-sized parking lot, so unless it's really busy, you shouldn't have an issue finding a parking spot.

Yelp
Village Pub & Beer Garden has been one of my staple spots to eat or drink at since I moved to Nashville. This place is truly loved by the neighborhood. They have a decent sized parking lot that you can usually find a spot in. I love the "village pub" feel that this place does indeed have. The wrap-around patio is inviting (even to smokers at times), and they have plenty of tables with umbrellas in the space above the porch. Inside, there are games you can play or you can meet some locals at the friendly bar. They really love their assortment of mule cocktails... and that's because they're all really tasty. Along with the mule's, they have a list of house cocktails, a wide selection of less than typical liquor brands. The food is as good as the drinks and atmosphere. I recommend trying the pretzels, you really can't go wrong with them. Also the Black Bean Burger is delicious! It's my go-to every time. My sister tends to get the pulled pork and always enjoys it. The neighborhood wouldn't be the same without this pub!! Thank you for giving us a cozy place to eat and drink with friends and family! PS- the patio is dog friendly :)

Richard S.

Yelp
This place is a joke! I called to place an order and was told they don't take phone orders on Monday. So, I went in person to place an order. About 10 minutes after placing our order they tell me they don't do sandwiches on Mondays. Meals only! Then they couldn't figure out how to print a receipt showing they gave me a credit to my CC. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
google avatar

Tori S.

Yelp
My brother has been raving about this place to me for a couple weeks and we finally both able to go today! As an appetizer my brother ordered the pretzels with beer cheese sauce. Soooo good. I got the Bourbon Street sandwich with no caramelized green peppers. It was SO good. A little messy but how could I really be mad about that. My baby complaint was that the sides were either potato salad or potato chips, I'd have to REALLY check if those were it, that's just all they said when I ordered. But overall such a good experience. They actually have parking in the back so I love that you don't have to hassle around for a street spot. 5/5.
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
Food was pretty good but found it kind of odd that on certain days of the week they don't serve their whole menu.
google avatar

DJ R.

Yelp
The closest bar to my house. The food, drinks, and ambiance are great. I wish they had live music too, but it's still a fun time without it. -- Ross Senack

Yelp
I cannot say enough great things about this place!! My boyfriend and I are visiting Nashville for a few days and have eaten here for dinner two nights in a row! The food is amazing! Definitely recommend the pretzels with beer cheese, and the nachos! They have an awesome drink selection! (Half off mules on Monday's). The atmosphere is so cozy. Huge dog friendly patio as well!
google avatar

Danial S.

Yelp
TL;DR: 3.5 stars. Meh draft beer selection, fantastic pretzels, and more of a patio than a garden. My wife and I just moved to Germantown and were looking for a place with outdoor seating to enjoy the weather as we took a much needed break from unpacking and Village Pub fit the bill. Service was a bit slow starting off even though there weren't many people there, but once the waitress took our order, she was constantly present. I ordered a strawberry wheat beer to start off with, which was okay, while my wife chose not to drink to make me feel like an alcoholic (she's also training for a half marathon and trying to trim down, so I guess that's part of it too). I followed that up with another forgettable beer once the food arrived. Altogether, a miss for me on the beers. The food, on the other hand, was great. I got their special pretzel sandwich, a Sriracha mayo BLT with chicken (so really a Sriracha Club), and my wife got the strawberry and goat cheese salad with herb chicken. The sandwich was amazing and the best part was the pretzel bun: crispy on the outside, perfectly salty, and soft and chewy on the inside. The rest of the flavors melded well together too, but nothing beats that bun (I have a love/love relationship with bread, so results may vary). It came with a side of chips which tasted exactly like ruffles (Lay's are better, fyi). The wifey's salad was tasty: chicken was well seasoned, strawberries fresh and juicy, and candied walnuts provided a nice crunch.

Yelp
This is a great place to go to meet the neighbors, They have good food and a great selection of beverages.

Yelp
Great place to sit out side grab some beers and quality bar food. As an added bonus it is dog friendly :)
google avatar

Garrett N.

Yelp
Very fun local joint tucked away in a neighborhood. Great outdoor atmosphere and great food!
google avatar

J'Austin W.

Yelp
Definitely enjoyed my visit here and will most likely be returning. The service was good, the food was great, and the drink selection is pretty good. I can say overall I was a very pleased customer. I also found they were very accommodating to combating Covid-19 with several precautions in place. Would recommend trying the Reuben for sure one of the best I have ever had, the Moscow Mule was good as well. Go on Mule Mondays if you enjoy Moscow mules they are half the price all day.
google avatar

Athena B.

Yelp
I haven't eaten here, so I can't vouch for their food (although the menu looked yummy), but I went here on Mule Monday (which I had no clue was a thing here), and it was amazing! Their mules are normally $6 something and on Mondays they're half off! $6 is already pretty cheap, so $3 and some change is a steal! They have like 6 different varieties you can order, but I went with the standard Moscow Mule and it was amazing! My friends had the Kentucky Mule and loved it. The steel cups they serve them in are also amazing. Copper mugs are cool, but this is even better. I'd much rather drink out of these cups any day. The bartender said so many people steal them that they always have to buy more and they're hard to find, which is why you'll see that none of the cups are the same design. Anyway, if you love to drink Mules, definitely go here on a Monday!
google avatar

Caroline W.

Yelp
This is a great chill place to go grab a drink with friends! Their Moscow mules are my favorite and they have a variety of them! There food is also really good! I've had the chicken salad and burger! Both were great!

Yelp
When I was recommended this for dinner last week, I didn't have such high hopes. Where I live, a "Village Pub" is usually an unimpressive and unremarkable bar with subpar food at best. However, this Village Pub could not have been further from that perception. The ambiance of the place was lively and warm, with ample seating both inside an outside. I opted for a seat on the patio so I could look out at East Nashville, and I enjoyed people-watching the customers in the additional outside seating that was off of the patio. The hostess and waitresses I interacted with were all very friendly and kind, and gave great recommendations when I asked about their beer selection. I ordered a salad, and when it came I almost dropped my jaw. It was HUGE! The beer paired very nicely with my food, and the salad itself was delicious and filling. For my appetizer I ordered chips and salsa, and was shocked by how authentic and flavorful the salsa tasted. I loved my visit to Village Pub and hope to go back next time I'm in Nashville!

Steven G.

Yelp
Drinks were good and service was great. DO NOT ORDER FOOD. They don't actually have a kitchen, it takes forever.
