40 New Restaurants and Bars That Have Opened in San Diego - Eater San Diego

"Farmer’s Table co-founder Vincenzo Loverso has turned his long-running brunch spot into a new mostly Italian restaurant dubbed Vincenzo Cucina & Lounge. Still serving daily breakfast as well as weekend brunch, the menu includes daytime eats like wagyu steak and eggs, a zucchini blossom frittata, and banana French toast while dinner options feature pasta dishes finished in different cheese wheels, from fettuccini alfredo in a wheel of parmesan to bucatini carbonara swirled in aged pecorino." - Candice Woo

Vincenzo Cucina & Lounge is a true gem in the heart of Little Italy! The food was absolutely amazing – every bite packed with authentic Italian flavor. I tried the pizza and can confidently say it’s the best I’ve ever had – perfectly crisp crust, fresh ingredients, and rich, delicious sauce. The service was equally impressive – warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The staff really goes above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. Prices are reasonable for the quality you’re getting, which makes it even more worth it. Parking is a bit limited, as expected in the area, so plan ahead if you’re driving. But once you’re there, the atmosphere, food, and service make it well worth the trip. Highly recommended!

From the moment we walked in we had amazing service. Our server was Natalia, she was the BEST!!! Very nice and recommended options to us as we had never been here, she was very attentive too. Alberto was a great assistant in keeping our table clean and clear and ensuring our happiness and promptness of food. Amazing food!!! The chicken parmigiana was delicious!!! And we had the special from the cheese wheel which was amazing!!

We just want to express our pleasure with our wonderful waitress Natalia. We had not tried Vincenzo Cucina and Lounge, but cannot say enough about the Italian feel Natalia and her team displayed as they presented each course of our meal. Natalia was very attentive and did not miss an opportunity to engage more intimately with the guests at our table. Natalia went above and beyond, making us feel very special. We all had a wonderful time and would highly recommend Vincenzo’s.

Great spot with outdoor seating. The best fried calamari in San Diego, don't change it guys! Decent pizza and ok oysters. The artichoke was really good. Trying their cheese wheel pasta next time. Servers are also attentive and hostess was very pleasant.

Overall, the food was excellent, the drinks were decent, the staff was very friendly, and the aesthetic was picture worthy. I understand that due to the public holiday, things were busier than usual, which likely contributed to the slightly slower service. That said, my friend and I did feel overlooked during our visit. Our server, Jaime, was clearly handling a lot at once and, while his service was great when he was at our table, we felt almost invisible the rest of the time. It took quite a while for him to confirm our orders, and even after we shared that we were in a bit of a rush to catch our flight, things didn’t improve. We watched as he regularly attended to other tables while we were left waiting without updates or attention. We recognise that it was a busy time and that Jaime was doing his best, but we felt it was worth mentioning that, despite the friendliness and quality service in moments, the overall lack of attentiveness impacted our experience, especially since this was our final stop before heading to the airport.

We didn’t get a table there. We sat at the bar. Ordered beer and Bloody Mary. My partner’s beer was warm and my Bloody Mary was small and no taste really. But we enjoyed the scenery and the old guy who was dancing and playing music nearby at the little Italy plaza. I can’t talk about food and the atmosphere inside the restaurant. But the outdoor bar was fun seating for us since we were in the sidewalk kinda. Also it was in the morning.

Came on a whim, Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm, no wait, indoor and outdoor dining options. The servers are highly professional and in theme with the vibe of the restaurant. We ordered the Bruschetta which was incredible and the entree pictured was a chicken breast with prosciutto & mozzarella served with tomatoes over broccoli & seasonal carrots. Would definitely return. Highly recommend.

Google
The atmosphere was good, felt like I was in a nice Italian restaurant. I was expecting to be wowed by the food but instead, I left feeling like it was an average food experience. I got their recommended pistachio pizza and the calamari. Both came out cooked but cold. It felt like it was sitting out for a while and I just ate something that was luke warm. They also both lacked some sort of strong flavor. It didn't feel like I was tasting anything unique outside of burrata cheese from the pizza or the sauce and flavor of the calamari breading/seasoning. Overall I would recommend trying a different restaurant around here, they are plentiful.

Yelp
Came here because everywhere else was booked but I'm glad it was because this place was great. Filippo was such a great server !

Yelp
Stephano was absolutely amazing and made the meal so much more enjoyable than the great food would have done.

Yelp
Let me start off that I am Italian food connoisseur having lived in Naples four years. So, I am always looking for that true authentic experience. Vincenzo's hits all marks, by far the best Italian food in San Diego I have tasted yet. The service was phenomenal, Jonathan (our server) and the manager gave my family and I that true Napoli nostalgia. Such great people, I really can't say enough about Jonathan's service and the whole experience. We started off with the espresso martini. Again, the best I have had anywhere, a frothy, perfect balance of sweetness and café, garnished with toast coffee beans. The Frittura Di Calamari E Gamberi appetizer was cooked to perfection with lite non-oily batter with two sauces. Not your typical marinara but much better, clearly made from the freshest ingredients due to the non-acidity. The other sauce was an aoli type equally as good. Now, for the star of the show or at least for me, the Cheese Wheel Bar, I had the Pappadelle Porcini pasta with grilled chicken breast. A creamy porcini mushroom mix with a truffle sauce over pappadelle pasta. My family and I love truffles, I almost opted for extra truffle, but Jonathan suggested trying it, and if additional truffle is needed, he would gladly oblige my request. It was perfecto, that deep yet not overwhelming umani-rich flavor. I paired the meal with an excellent mediumly priced red cabernet sauvignon from Silvia Cellars, not to dry or sweet another ideal blend to add to the flawless evening theme. Lastly, it was my wife's birthday, Jonathan set my wife up with a shot of limoncello and carmel dolce cake with blueberries and strawberries to die for. Extraordinary experience from start to finish. I even talked to the manager and told him how blown away we all were by everything, including the service. I would give them a sixth star if it was available, we will definitely be back, and thank you again for making my wife's birthday amazing. Molto Bene!!

Yelp
I found this place to be incredibly overrated. The service was terrible. Our waiter, Armando, was hardly ever around, despite it being 4 PM and not busy. We came specifically to see the cheese wheel while our food was being prepared, and after asking him three times to let us know, he completely forgot. We had to repeatedly ask for drink refills, for our table to be cleared, and even for bread--what kind of Italian restaurant makes you ask for bread? We waited over an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, two Fettuccini Alfredo dishes were cold. The chicken was chewy and tasted like airline food, and the noodles were cold too! We sent it back, only to receive a microwaved version drenched in sauce to cover up the poor quality. We ended up bringing it home for the dogs. To make matters worse, the manager, Rumaldo, never came over to address our concerns. Only the woman who took over for Armando apologized, offered a discount, and gave us two desserts, which were both tasteless. The tiramisu resembled cinnamon cake, and we had no idea what the other dessert was supposed to be. I chose your restaurant to celebrate my 50th birthday, and it was disappointing that they didn't acknowledge it at all--instead, they ruined it. I would have preferred to stay home for an authentic Italian meal cooked by my mom. A note to the owner: consider holding a customer service training session for your staff. Armando's stained apron and slurred speech gave a poor impression. When something is clearly wrong, a manager should step in. We weren't the only dissatisfied customers; the table behind us missed happy hour prices because they waited so long without recognition. Please do better--and for the love of food, improve your bread; it's tasteless!

Yelp
I am a sucker for aperol spritz and this place has the cutest patio bar front. We came for drinks and loved it. The staff was super nice and the drinks were delicious. I got the aperol sprits and he got the old fashion, did not disappoint!

Yelp
Labor Day brunch It was a sunny day & little Italy was packed, people were out on their day off. So like everyone else we decided to have brunch at 11:30 am little Italy. As we walked we chose this restaurant , it looked cute & the outdoor area was inviting. The service was a bit slow at 1st but once they brought water our waiter was nice & attentive. I really enjoyed our sandwich it was tasty but the bread got soggy quickly (the side that lays on the plate.) The pizza also tasty but I do enjoy my veggie well cooked the onions still were crunchy the dough was soft on the pizza & you had to fold the pizza to eat. I enjoy a crispy crust. If you like your pizza like I do make sure to tell them crispy crust & well cooked veggies. Other then that the ambiance was thriving & the drinks on point.

Yelp
Vincenzo located in Downtown San Diego in Little Italy. It's downtown, so parking is usually always a pain. Amazing Italian restaurant with great customer service from Ms. Natalia! Food was delicious, you can definitely taste the quality in the ingredients. Pasta was cooked to perfection accompanied with flavorful sauces! You're paying for the quality not quantity at this particular restaurant. They offer inside, patio and sidewalk seating. It was a busy evening so we opted for the sidewalk seating. We ordered 3 pastas from the Cheese Wheel Bar: Fettuccine alfredo - creamy and delicious Cavatelle salsiccia - more savory in flavor and delicious Bucatini carbonara - delish As well as... Ceasar salad - delish with house made croutons Calamari - cooked to perfection Bruschettone - AMAZING bread appetizer with cheese, prosciutto, fig jam, and micro greens Magherita pizza - delish Lobster ravioli - the least favorite, a bit on the fishy tasting side. We went for dinner but apparently they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner! We will definitely be back for more. Next time, indoor seating for sure! If in Little Italy, definitely give this spot a try! Enjoy an amazing meal while people watching in beautiful Downtown San Diego!

Yelp
Vincenzo is in the heart of Little Italy and gets extremely busy on the weekends. Luckily we arrived on Saturday afternoon, right before the rush. The menu isn't super extensive but they do have a nice variety of pastas and a few dishes for those who aren't keen on pasta aka my husband. lol I ordered the Pappardelle and it was very creamy, very cheesy and delicious. My bestie had the bolognese and really liked it. My husband ordered the chicken and was happy with the large cook and flavor. He did wish there was a vegetable side served with the mash though. The portions are all so big. It's on the pricer side but the portions kind of make up for it. The main downside was they advertise it as pasta in Cheese Wheels so we expected our pastas to be served table side in a cheese wheel. That was not the case. Instead, they have a window in the kitchen and you can see the cooks put the pasta orders into the cheese wheel and mix it around before putting it in a dish for serving. It's not as exciting, but atleast you can still see it I guess? Lol The service was really quick and even though they started to get really busy, we were still in and out of the restaurant within an hour and a half.

Yelp
Prices: Expensive Service: The prices are on the high end, and for this level of cost and location, the level of service is greatly lacking. We were seated in a largely empty secondary dining room on a busy Sunday. The outside tables were full, as were the inside section as you walk in the restaurant. We were seated in a booth. The floor of the booth was filthy. Napkins from prior guests, empty packages from sweeteners and such. The floor was sticky. Our waitress was charming and helpful. There were no visible bus boys, and it was up to the waitress to clear tables. A table in front of us was left with used plates from what appeared to be disgruntled patrons who left in a hurry without eating or even touching a fresh cocktail. That food remained during our entire meal. It became the location for waiters to dump dirty plates. Not exactly the view one would expect from a high end restaurant. The waitress, and not the support staff (as there was none) refilled our water glasses. An appetizer arrived without plates to share. We asked a waiter for plates, and he acknowledged us and disappeared. The waitress finally brought some plates albeit the appetizer was now cooled. The main dishes arrived in 3 deliveries for our party of six. When we finished the plates were left on the table until we left. Since we weren't leaving right away, we stacked them in a corner, but there was no one to bus the table. Since we had a birthday, a complimentary slice of cake was brought over by the waitress. When we got up to leave several bus boys arrived to clean the table, but no effort was made to look UNDER the table. (We watched.) For the price point I certainly expected better. The management would be wise to visit Romesco's in Bonita to see what high level service is like. This was not it. Food: Food was good. We all ordered from the cheese wheel selection. The portions were smaller than expected, however it was very rich and therefore more would have likely been excessive. If one has a higher budget then portion sizes were perfect for ordering several courses. I had: GOLD PARMIGIANO $28.95 Tortellini Emiliani with Italian ham, peas, creamy Parmigiano sauce. It was very good. Cooked to perfection. My son had: 18-MONTH PECORINO ROMANO $24.95 Bucatini Carbonara with egg yolk, Italian bacon, creamy pecorino. It looked like a larger portion than the others and my son said it was delicious. My two youngest ordered: 24-MONTH PARMIGIANO $24.95 Fettuccine alfredo with classic parmigiano creamy sauce One was ordered with chicken, the other without. Both arrived with chicken, although the chicken that was not ordered was not on the bill. While they usually leave food, they both cleaned their plates and said it was very good. My wife and son ordered: ZUCCHINI BLOSSOMS (V) $17.95 Served with apricot jam, filled with four blend cheeses and spinach. They said it was very good. My wife's main plate was: GRANA PADANAO $27.95 Pappardelle Porcini with creamy porcini mushroom, and truffle sauce. She finished her meal and said it was very good. So, overall, we had a nice dinner and the only thing lacking was the cleanliness below the table and the lack of attentive service due to a lack of support staff for the overworked wait staff.

Yelp
Could this be one of the best happy hours in Little Italy? Although I don't love Aperol Spritzes, when my friends wanted to go here, I couldn't say no. Their vibes are spot on, the Aperol was as good as any other I've had, and their happy hour has some incredible deals. I had a spritz and shared the charcuterie board, which had a nice variety of cheeses and accompaniments. My friend got their Alfredo pasta and I had a bite, safe to say I will be coming back and getting one myself bc that was delicious! I think it's a good price for happy hour for the size of the plate ($18) but a bit overpriced for their regular price ($25) Will be coming back during happy hour to try more of their food!

Yelp
Ok so the vibes and staff are very sweet, but unfortunately the food was not it. For some reason everything was really bland and at the risk of sounding american the side of fries (picture included) was pretty small. It also seemed a lot smaller cause it was on a pretty big plate. We got the vegetarian pizza and the pizza dough tasted great but it was lacking flavor otherwise. Same with the caprese panini, it tasted a little soggy since the bread wasn't crispy and there was barely any pesto inside so just unseasoned tomato and cheese. Also got a summer fruit salad which was pretty as expected and the fruits tasted fresh! Side note they have someone going around taking pictures and selling them in frames for $20 which they don't disclose before hand so just a heads up and you can always so no if you don't want it :)

Yelp
Omg where do I start ! This place is the only place in San Diego to have a cheese wheel bar . They offer six different pastas you can pick from . They have a area with all the cheeses u can watch them do it . They have an amazing happy hour definitely worth checking out . The inside is huge with lots of seating options. They have a bar area in front that connects to the street for people to stop by and grab a drink . They also have a nice patio . The staff were so friendly and attentive we met Gio he came to our table to make sure everything was okay . Our waiter was Jamie he was so nice also . The service was above and beyond they want to make sure you are satisfied . The food was so delicious we got the pizza and pasta from the pasta wheel. OMG so good ! I can't wait to go back to San Diego just to have this pasta again . I highly recommend checking this place out.

Yelp
THE BEST PASTA DISH I'VE EVER HAD and pasta is my absolute favorite food, so that's saying something. I got the cheese wheel porcini pappardelle (w/ chicken +$5). SO good. I will say the chicken breast was a bit on the dry side but that didn't even matter because the pasta was so good! We came with a reservation for a party of seven and we're seated straightaway. Our server Jaime was AMAZING! There was a discrepancy, and he handled it wonderfully!! He was just the best and so welcoming! They gave us bread and oil and the oil dip was the best I've ever had! Nice and garlicky! The drinks were good, (a previous bartender in our group said they were weak, so I think it depends on what you order). The ambience is fantastic and so cute and chic! Definitely a place you want to visit in Little Italy!

Yelp
GREAT SERVICE!! Went here on a Friday morning and got sat immediately. Our server was attentive. We ordered the Vincenzo French Toast and Steak & Eggs. The vanilla cream made the French toast absolutely delicious. It also wasn't soggy like some others. The initial steak came out looking like a dog treat. As soon as I got our servers attention and began speaking, he took the plate off the table before I even got to ask for a new steak. I really appreciated that. When the steak came out again, our server knew it was overcooked again and before even putting it down said to cut into it and then would take it back. The third time was the charm. The eggs were poached nicely. They also comped the steak without asking which was nice of them. The food was good and the service was on point. Overall, I would come back for the French Toast.
google avatar

Miyuki Y.

Yelp
Came here for brunch and left wishing I ordered off the lunch menu. I came in because I was dying to try the tres leches waffle, unfortunately they were all out and the server recommended the Vincenzo french toast instead. I was not impressed, it tasted like a children's dessert. The French toast had little to no flavor and it felt like I was just eating berries with whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. My other party ordered the steak and eggs, I would say ihop or Waffle House has better steak and eggs. Besides the food, the ambiance of the place was stunning and I would love to come back with an updated review on their lunch and dinner menu

Yelp
We decided to take a stroll in San Diego's Little Italy and found Vincenzo Cucina & Lounge. We ended up having dinner here tonight. Super cute, vibrant restaurant that offers Italian food. We ordered a calamari to start & for entrées, we got: pappardelle porcini (with sausage), two orders of fusilli bolognese (with meatball), and bucatini carbonara (with chicken). Frittura di calamari e gamberi: 5/10. The calamari itself was cooked well and the batter had a nice crisp. A bit bland though. Comes with two different sauces & lemon. Pappardelle porcini: 5/10. One of their cheese wheel pasta dishes that I got with sausage. Also ran into the same issue of it being a bit bland but I liked that this dish arrived nice and hot. The sausage paired well with the pappardelle & sauce, however, only got 2 small pieces of sausage. Fusilli bolognese: 6/10. We got two orders of this dish, with the addition of meatballs. This dish was not bad, just nothing special. Bucatini carbonara: 6.5/10. The chicken was extremely dry and practically inedible. The pasta was all right. It looked and tasted like Krafts mac and cheese powder. Service: Hostess was friendly & our server was helpful and attentive. Overall, I'd say I probably would not come back to eat here. The food was not great & quite pricey at about $35/pasta dish, with the added protein. Kind of a let down and underwhelming for a restaurant located right in the center of Little Italy.

Yelp
Hanging out in little Italy for the first time we took a stroll after trying some paleta down the street. Walking thru the night was bumping, lively music, restaurants, bars, pizzeria, you name it. We were out there kind of late and most places were closing. There was a super nice hostess standing outside at a counter to outdoor dining and we asked her if the kitchen would be closed, with 20 min left on the business hours and they stayed open late for people in the area. We sat down 4 topper, ordered: Calamari- well cooked not rubbery, crispy and two choices of dipping sauce with lemons. $20 Chicken carbonara - the pasta was cooked well, sauce was creamy and had good flavor. I would put a pinch more salt in. The chicken addition was $5 option so about $30 for the dish unfortunately my chicken was super dry, probably go for sausage next time instead. The pappardelle pasta with shrooms and truffle was probably the best tasting in my opinion and came out hot which is good. $30-32 The bolognese was a good mix with meatballs. Pretty standard for bolognese. Overall an enjoyable meal. $35ish Total with fees etc was about $200+ with tip. For little Italy i thought the food would have a bit more flavor punch overall, a bit underwhelming. The service however was top notch. Appreciate that.

Yelp
Stumbled upon Vincenzo while looking for a brunch spot and was seated immediately on a Saturday morning. Our group ordered the American Breakfast, Steak Breakfast Burrito, and a Fusilli Bolognese. The egg breakfast and burrito were average - nothing too special about it other than the whipped butter that came with the bread. My favorite was the Fusilli Bolognese which stole the show. The pasta was cooked perfectly and sauce was full of flavor and tangy. Would most likely return for dinner instead of brunch for their pasta and pizza options.

Yelp
I knew this place was gonna be good as soon as I saw a WHOLE WALL lined with cheese wheels. Stopped by on a trip with my friends! We were so conflicted in picking a place in Little Italy (because cmon, they all have to be good), but I have absolutely no regrets going here. The interior is gorgeous, eclectic and modern, and has lots of sunlight! Our booth was super comfy and staff was kind. You get to choose between regular water or sparkling! My pasta was so filling and soo good. Portion size was great. I don't have much else to say except it was a 5/5, and you should go here.

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a birthday and it was surprisingly pretty good! The reviews here had me feeling dubious when my sister made a reservation here but it was a positive experience for us! The happy hour was just ok. The star of the show was the aperol and limoncello spritz tower. I'm not a fan of aperol spritz or limoncello but actually it was really good! Better than the ones I had in Italy. The calamari and pizza I would definitely pass on. Not pictured was the bruschetta (looked unaesthetic) but was the best out of the HH dishes we ordered. We got the two salads: Caesar and (insert name here) and both were good! The seafood tower was better than expected and the star of the show were the jumbo shrimp that were seasoned perfectly! The steak was good and cooked perfectly medium rare. Potatoes on the side were just ok. The duck ragu was also pretty good but the best pasta was the bucatini carbonara. I wasn't expecting much from the carbonara, but this one was one of the best carbonara I've had in the US. It had a really silky, creamy smooth texture that was something to dream about. Risotto had gold flakes on it, but was otherwise subpar. At the end of the dinner, the birthday girl got a delicious limoncello cake slice with a candle! My giant group had a beautiful view of the little Italy street while dining inside a large booth. This place is great for groups albeit being pricey. Would I come again? Probably not, or just maybe only to eat the carbonara. One thing to note is this place doesn't give free bread which was pretty surprising as most places do!

Yelp
Wow such a beautiful restaurant! I'd come here again just to take some selfies. Staff seemed new, but very polite and attentive. The food was delicious and didn't leave me feeling bloated. Fresh bowls of Parmesan and red pepper flakes. I wish I could've seen the chefs turn the past in the cheese wheel at our table but nonetheless, very tasty! Pizza Picante 4/5 - Delicious! A little heavy on the onions (for me) but a nice great sauce, the bread was cooked to perfection. I would order this in addition to something else. Fettuccine Alfredo 3/4 - Simple, nothing fancy. Did what was expected. I added shrimp, I do think this pasta needed a protein. I would come here again!!

Yelp
We had a really good late night meal here after a game downtown at Petco. Loved that they were open so late and the speedy food delivery. The food was great and came to our tables quickly and hot. Each dish was super flavorful and nicely made. The flavors were all beautifully paired. One of the better Italian restaurants I have visited. I wish the music was a little quieter and it's kind of interesting that someone must be DJ-ing because the music will abruptly switch. The service was ok. Our server had a large section. The food runners were nice. I only with there was a garlic bread offering to sop up all the pasta sauce. I will gladly come back as they are open late and the food is plentiful and good!

Yelp
I visited Vincenzo last night and had an overall fantastic experience. We started by sharing the Cacio e Pepe meatballs and bruschetta, both of which were absolutely delicious. I opted for the fusilli Bolognese, and my friend went with the special of the day, a crab and shrimp pasta in a vodka sauce. Both dishes were exceptional. Our waiter, James, was attentive and friendly, enhancing our dining experience. However, there was a minor hiccup with the dessert. James gave us a sample of the tiramisu, and unfortunately, it was covered in chocolate powder. While the tiramisu itself had a great flavor, the chocolate powder overwhelmed it. I'd recommend skipping the chocolate powder to better enjoy the tiramisu's true taste. Despite this, I'm very impressed with this new addition to Little Italy. One standout feature is their selection of five different cheese wheels for pasta, which is a delightful touch. Don't mind my picture of the pasta; I was so hungry I ate some before taking the photo, and it was presented much nicer than it looks in my picture. Overall, I highly recommend Vincenzo and look forward to my next visit.

Yelp
OMG. This is so good. I had the cheese wheel penne bolognese. WOW! Pasta perfection. This is easily one of the best pasta dishes I've had in my entire life. Absolute perfection with the noodles and the sauce was to die for. And with the hint of cheese, exquisite cheese. I'm yearning for it now just thinking of it. I'm sure there is no Italian food this good in Italy, there can't be. Simply outstanding! Service was excellent. There is no other way to describe it. Very patient with us. We had a big group and it took a while for everyone to show up, but they were so accommodating. Professional level service that makes 95% of restaurants look like fumbling amateurs. Very nice outdoor seating. Who doesn't love a dinner al fresco with some pasta el dente. It got a bit chilly toward the end of dinner, but they turned on the heaters and it took any chill off. I hope to get back here soon. A night to remember.

Yelp
Positive that there was no wait. The restaurant is large with lots of available tables and servers. But the service itself was a little slow. We were sat down quickly and maybe just because it was a hot day, but water took a while to received. The Alfredo pasta from the wheel was delicious. We added chicken. The club sandwich and fries were just ok. The tapper outside got old and it can start to be more irksome than endearing. That's not the restaurant's fault but it makes dining outside a bit unpleasant.

Yelp
Recently visited this spot on a holiday for brunch. We made reservations but may have no needed them because the restaurant was empty. The restaurant was very large and decorated very nicely inside and out. We ordered the Carpaccio for appetizers. They were a little flimsy with the meat given. We also ordered two of their cheese wheel pastas, the bolognese and the mushroom and truffle papardelle. Given that both dishes were nearly $30, I did not find anything exquisite or special about both dishes. There may be a reason this place is empty for the most part on a busy brunch day. I wouldn't be inclined to come back here.

Yelp
The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and comfortable! The decorations were very cool as well. I came with my friend and we got seated right away. I ordered a Bucatini Carbonara. Personally, I thought it was way too salty and too much cream/cheese was added. It made the dish super hard to eat. It didn't really taste like carbonara at all, just mainly salted cream. The bacon added an amazing flavor to the dish, but wasn't enough to save it. This dish was quite disappointing. It was quite hard to grab our servers attention as well. Whenever we needed some red peppers or the check, we waited quite a while to call our server over. We came during lunch on a Thursday so the restaurant wasn't that busy at all. I personally might not come back again.

Yelp
Great service speed, a big rush on Sunday. Huge venue, huge inside, huge outside portions. They definitely leveraged the majority and got butts in seats but it didn't feel like they had enough staff to cover everything. Bathrooms were some of the messiest I've seen in a long time. Messier than late night bars, and it's only 1130am on a Sunday morning. Once we did order, the food and drinks came out really fast, so that's a huge plus. But overall pretty standard fare. Nothing too impressive besides the speed. Our mimosa glasses were dirty and they wiped them instead of bringing new ones which is fine but then they weren't even the same size - one big and one small? One of the only times I feel like a Yelp rating tricked me. Definitely not 4 stars. Also the turnover is horrendously slow. We've been waiting for the last portion - clearing our table and getting the check for longer than we ate for, for longer than we waited to be greeted once we got sat.

Yelp
Great happy hour, 3-5:30 daily I believe. Would definitely recommend the calamari and the bruschetta. We also sat at the bar after dinner and Giovanni was great, super attentive and he took care of us quickly. He made sure to always ask if there anything we need and our glasses were full. He was full of positive attitude and made our experience that much better! Overall I would definitely recommend this place, the ambiance is cool and stylish.

Yelp
Came here for a dinner before leaving San Diego, heard it was a new place that just opened so was excited to try Really nice ambiance and had indoor and outdoor seating with heaters, my friends and I opted for the indoor which was really cozy and intimate We ordered pasta and their pizza. The pasta overall was honestly lacking flavor. The carbonara we had felt like there was no taste and no cheese involved. The bolognese was okay, felt like nothing really stood out. The pizza was the star of the show though, we really enjoyed it and the crust was perfectly thin and chewy! Would come back for the pizza lol

Yelp
We tried this place randomly because we wanted to try the cheese bowl plates, I did not think it was out of the ordinary as far as the flavor. The menu is decent but not huge, and some noodle or spaguetti are good enough to share, the drinks were good as well like the sangria and the chocolate martini. The prices are on the high end for that area but it was ok for a date night.

Yelp
Went for happy hour. Ordered some items from the main menu as well as happy hour items. Service was fine but nothing special. Kind of like the entire experience. The restaurant is huge and located under morning glory one of my favorite places in little Italy. Oysters were really salty. Almost hard to eat. Calamari had actually some fried shrimp in it. Was solid. Meatballs very soft but not overly flavorful even dousing it in the tomato based sauce. Three small meatballs and not flavorful or reminiscent of traditional meatballs. Also had fusilli with meat sauce which I didn't even see on the online menus. Portion size was adequate and there was a lot of meat in the sauce. Was ok but again not special in any way. I'll try some other things next time but this visit wasn't memorable. Will adjust review accordingly on a followup visit.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary for brunch, and OMG, everything was absolutely amazing! From the moment we walked in, we were seated right away, and the service was exceptional and a cozy ambiance. Our server was super attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The food was delicious, and we can't wait to come back to try more items on the menu. A lovely touch was the photographer who came to our table and offered a complimentary photo--such a great way to capture the special moment. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
This is a cool spot to come with friends, although the food is not anything special. The service and drinks are good.

Yelp
Hot new spot in Little Italy!!! This place opened up about a month ago and the vibes are super fun and retro! I made a reservation on a Thursday evening but there was restaurant was not packed which I enjoyed. So many Italian restaurants in San Diego are so packed with guests that it's lowkey impossible to have a chill night where you can hear the people you're talking to while dining. Calamari (9/10): Crispy and lightly battered. The sauces it came with paired nicely. It came with some shrimp too which I didn't realize until we got it. Chef's Signature Salad (8/10): Small portion but light and refreshing. Definitely can't go wrong with walnuts, feta, beets, and a refreshing vinaigrette. Ravioli (9.5/10): Took off half a point because I wish there was more of it! It was super creamy and delish. It came with 6 pieces which is good if you aren't super hungry. There was a lot of leftover sauce which would have been great dipped in bread. Carajillo (10/10): a cocktail not on the menu but I STRONGLY advise you to get a cocktail that isn't on the menu! They have a full bar so they can make you anything! I loved this drink. Not as sweet as an espresso martini in my opinion. This place is a great option if you're looking for a fun spot to dine and walk around Little Italy afterwards. Also, Jacob was a great server :) Very patient and helpful with the menu.

Yelp
My wife and I were in San Diego for Memorial Day weekend and we found this place the took over the old Farmer's Table and had a big sign with their happy hour specials out front. We had to try it. I ordered twelve oyster, which although cheap, they were fairly lackluster, there was barely an oyster in two of them. I ordered an IPA and a Pizza Port amber, which were on happy hour and I also ordered a happy hour pizza. The pizza was incredible and $10 on happy hour. I enjoyed the second half for breakfast with three fried eggs on top the next morning. The place was packed and lots of guests were having Aperol Spritz, which were also on happy hour. Our bartender was filling orders fast and friendly and he seemed actually happy to be there. The place was huge and welcoming, could be the best happy hour in Little Italy.

Yelp
Visited Vincenzo Cucina and Lounge on Sunday with a friend , prior to Memorial Day as it seemed like a fun location on social media. Made reservations on open table for around 1:10pm. It was super busy. However, we weren't expecting to wait over 20min to get our menus or water once we sat down inside. Our server finally shows up with menus and we proceeded to place our drink order. Since it was "breakfast" time the menu was somewhat limiting of food options. We decided to order hash brown , fries and Margherita pizza. We saw the food options opened up during happy hour starting at 3pm. Drinks: ordered the Aperol spritz . 4/5 pretty good and refreshing . Italiano in Baja: 3/5 Delicious but low stars for arriving to the table only half full it looked like someone already drank it Our food arrives and the pizza comes lukewarm, fries aren't fresh (seemed like it came from bag) and the fries were also warm to cold. Costco sells better fries. Hash browns were basic, nothing to rave about . Our server comes back and we immediately ask for them to reheat the food. During that time, since we've waited a while we decided to ask for the happy hour menu. She states "sure" and walks away. The food finally comes back again but it wasn't good honestly . We wait and wait for the new menu and nothing. We ask again for the new menu and she walks back to get it. We wait again and she finally comes back and states the manager said no happy hour during the holiday. wish that was stated earlier the 1st time and today wasn't even the holiday but whatever ‍. Service: 3/5 besides the long wait in the beginning, the service in between was somewhat decent. Especially for a busy day but it could've been better. Plus they add an automatic 4% surcharge on your bill FYI Overall, it's a cute place to take pics for social media and maybe grab one drink but I wouldn't be back.

Yelp
A new place in the heart of little Italy. Stopped by here while waiting for a table at morning glory. Love that they have the open bar concept. My friends and I just had a drink here. I tried their classic espresso martini (1st timer) and it was delicioussss! My friends got the ciao Bella ciao and enjoyed their drinks as well. This restaurant is know for their pasta wheel bar and the aero spritz. They serve brunch and dinner so I'm definitely coming back here to try the food next time!

Yelp
Honestly loved this place. The cheese wheel was cool, the bottles of water that came in for service was great, and the food was amazing. Had some friends who ordered pasta (not pictured), but that was amazing. I'm glad one didn't want their leftovers anymore so I devoured theirs the morning after. As for the pizzas, they were simply amazing. I love prosciutto and everything on the pizza simply worked. The Margherita pizza was nice, simple, easy to enjoy. The scallops were very good and no complaints except I personally would want more risotto with it.

Yelp
Never say never, we gave Vincenzo's another shot and did not disappoint. We were served and seated right away. This time we came for dinner, right as you walk in you can see all the cheese wheels, I love that there are different dishes compared to other restaurants usually only have 1 cheese wheel dish. We sat inside and It was a nice ambiance. Both the bucatini carbonara and fusilli bolognese were great but the carbonara really stole the show, as you can see from the completely empty plate I am glad we gave this place another try, we will definitely be back! The manager made a point to ensure we were having a good meal so can really tell they are making an effort with their customer experience.

Yelp
The prosciutto pizza and the amazing pasta that my wife has. I love the atmosphere with Little Italy in the background. My wife loves Italy and especially with the wine. It's beautiful night for date night for couples and for family.

Yelp
Stefano was AMAZING! We loved him. He gave great recommendations on dessert, dinner, and wine, that all were amazing, and he had amazing customer service. Brought us bread as well. We had the bucatini carbonara, the tortellini, the peppoli Chianti wine, the artichoke appetizer, Caesar salad, and the crepe cake dessert and all of it was PHENOMENAL. No complaints at all
