NOTE: NEW OWNERS, Sold in 2023 to a Canadian Billionaire/Securities group. I am planning to revisit this year but I think its important to mention compared to any old reviews that its under new ownership (and I was able to scoop up some of the old cave stored wines sold at auction for CHEAP). It's unclear how the new bottled juice will be made/sold etc. Based on Roy Estate which they also own, I anticipate the product staying the same or improving and the price 2-4X. I used to be a club member there in the early to mid 00's and visited many times since we moved back to the East Coast, Pete was my favorite! The location is stunning, I hope they keep the caves with the venetian plaster. Here's hoping they continue to make great Chardonnay, Cabs and Zin

Wonderful experience! Carolyn is incredible! We had a fantastic time visiting this vineyard, truly one of a kind.

Lovely winery with a beautiful garden and pond area. Nick gave us a great tour and answered all our questions. Nice wines and a great experience - would definitely recommend!

Google
Just go. We had a magical experience. Their wine cave is incredibly unique and magnificent. And we can’t forget about their outdoor area/ outdoor seating options- secluded amongst the grapes, and trees. Nick was incredible and we felt so welcomed by Carolyn. We will be back.

Google
Beautiful setting. We showed up for Bottle Service on Saturday afternoon. Treated like valued guests even though we had no reservation or appointment. The 2013 Cab was delicious and perfect for a cool afternoon by the pond. We went for a walk and accidentally dropped one of their glasses... they seemed more apologetic than we did. Very classy response and as a husband in the dog house it was a welcomed response. 10/10 would visit again and may become a member.

Google
We had a very personal and interesting tour. This is the site of one of the oldest vineyards in Napa Valley. The wines we tasted were excellent. By appointment only.

Google
What a gem! This was such an amazing find. This winery is a secret worth sharing. Fantastically crafted wines, a beautiful estate and friendly and engaging staff. This is a must of you want the intimate Napa experience of times gone by.

Mark Leech

Google
We were at the winery on Nov 22, 2013. While we have been in Napa on several occasions, this was our first experience at Vine Cliff. We found it to be our most favorite winery we have visited in California! Not only is the wine exceptional for the price, the friendliness and courtesy of the staff was outstanding. On future trips to Napa this will be our first stop.

Yelp
This is one of few wineries that allow kids and dogs. Ariana gave us a tour of the winery. She was extraordinarily patient. We were a group of 10+ people with a toddler and 2 dogs. The tour itself was pretty short, strolling around the winery for 15-20 minutes tasting different wines (6-7 different kinds). We spent the rest of the time inside one of the "caves" enjoying wine and cheese. While not certified (yet), their wines are organic. They practice organic farming. It's just that they get runoff from neighboring non-organic vineyards. ************************************************************ If you found my review helpful, please smash the "useful" button! Don't forget to share my review with your loved ones and those who you care about. If you liked my review, follow me on Yelp or send me a friending request. Stay safe and healthy and keep Yelping!

Yelp
This is the place you go if you want great wine in a private, relax and peaceful setting. We went to this place for a glamorous version of wine picnic. Instead of the regular tasting setting, you choose your own wine from their vintage to go with the lunch. Chef Tom made our food and led us to the top of the mountain where we had an amazing valley of the valley. Everyone enjoyed their food and wine; all agreed it was our best Napa experience.

Yelp
We were on our way to Mumms for my sister's birthday but we're way too early. I told my BIL, pull over and let's see if we can get in at a winery. It just so happens that we pulled over in front of Vine Cliff Winery, it is behind a gate, so we called up and asked if we could come in. The young lady said yes. As it was pretty early, we were the only people there. The young lady (Sukie) was outstanding! Very, very friendly and knowledgeable of the wines. It is expensive, but come on it is Napa! Would definitely go back!

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite winery that we stopped at during our trip. We had a picnic on the top of the hill at a stone table area. The view was beautiful and the whole property/afternoon was the most charming experience I had in Napa. Our meal was brought out personally by the chef with his corgi puppy running alongside, in a wicker picnic basket, and it was absolutely incredible. We all had sandwiches made on fresh ciabatta, frisée salads, and a cheese plate with dates, nuts, and olives. We had a vegetarian in our group and Vine Cliff was very accommodating to that - adapting their sandwich to mushroom instead of prosciutto. While we ate, we enjoyed a bottle of Chardonnay that was perfect with our meal. Next time I am in Napa this will absolutely make my list to visit again. I can't recommend the picnic experience enough!!!

Yelp
Fabulous experience from start to finish. They were very accommodating when I had to change the tour appointment time and were diligent about responding promptly when they had to let me go to check availability. The gal pals and I had a little trouble getting through the gate upon arrival (you have to call so they can buzz you in), but that was the only hiccup. Vine Cliff is a smaller winery with beautiful grounds and a solid selection of wines. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and warm. He kicked us off with a taste of Chardonnay, which we happily sipped on while touring the grounds. The wine cave was beautiful and best of all, we didn't get paired with any other group for the hour long tour. Talk about intimate! Because of that, we could ask as many questions as we wanted and got to enjoy a relaxing, fun experience. Vine Cliff was the highlight of our day and I highly recommend them for a wonderful (and reasonably priced) tour.

Yelp
Another beautiful weekend in Napa. Richard and I made our usual rounds at our favorite wineries, and picked up so much wine that I almost ended up riding home on the roof of RB's Miata. On Sunday one of our stops was Vine Cliff. This was our second time visiting, and we again had a wonderful wine tasting experience, hosted by Justin, who is amazing; friendly, hospitable, knowledgeable, and puts you at ease. I actually learned quite a bit about Napa Valley's growing regions, and the types of wines they produce, which was awesome. Included in our tasting were two Cabs which were delicious. I'm not typically a huge fan of 'big' reds, but these wines were smooth and approachable, and even I could easily drink them by themselves. Vine Cliff's tasting room is gorgeous, modern and elegant, and makes a beautiful venue not just for wine tasting, but parties, celebrations, etc. Already looking forward to our next visit!

Meagan D.

Yelp
This place is everything! It was extremely clean and safe and we were seated at a secluded amazing table. Moe helped us out and made our experience incredible. Can't wait to return. Also I've included a photo but note it does NOT do this property justice.

Yelp
Vine Cliff wines are always good and now they have seasonal salads and pizzas on Fridays and Saturdays. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The chef, Tom, is a wonderful guy! If you haven't visited Vine Cliff, put it on your list!

Yelp
Amazing tasting experience. We had a wonderful tour of the property and caves with amazing views! Michael was so kind, informative and hospitable. The wines were amazing!!

Yelp
Just returned from a second Napa visit in less then 3 months and must say that Vine Cliff is becoming one of my favorite wineries in the region. As a wine club member, I sincerely appreciate the passion involved in the wine making process. The love and passion is evident in every wine they produce. The Private Stock 16 Rows Cabernet is the most delectable, complex, and polished Cabernet Sauvignon wine I have ever tasted. I am a novice oenophile and relatively inexperienced with wine complexities, but can appreciate the extraordinary taste of this wine. It is expensive at $150/bottle and is the most expensive wine I have ever bought. But since I was informed that this wine will not be a regular part of the wine shipment, I had to get it and will save it to commemorate a special occasion. Vine Cliff is only available for private tours and tastings "by appointment only" and will charge $25 for 4 wine bottle tasting. This fee will be waived if you buy a bottle of wine equivalent to the tasting fee, which you will because they do not carry any wines less than $50. The wines they produced are commonly sold at Thomas Keller's restaurants. If you're ever in Napa, call ahead and ask for a private tour of the their lush vineyards and caves.

Mary F.

Yelp
This is a must if you are traveling to Napa. The wines are amazing, the grounds and views are beautiful and the caves are really special. Tom, is not only an amazing chef, but very knowledgeable about wine and the area, and an all around super nice guy.

Yelp
I visited the Vine Cliff Winery a few months ago and it was one of my favorite vineyards in the Napa area. While it's not a "mainstream" brand, Vine Cliff was an absolute gem we had heard of from word of mouth and were very happy to explore. When we arrived, the property was breath taking and really special. I was a little hesitant to do a tour since we had just done several different tours at other vineyards that felt very touristy but this place was different. Our tour and tasting was wonderfully personal and we didn't feel pressured to buy anything. The owner even stopped by to chat with us and made us feel so at home. We loved the wine and if I had to chose only one vineyard to visit again, I'd come back here.

Yelp
This is our favorite winery in Napa, we go every time we visit the area. We've been to the winery, not the tasting room so I can't comment on that experience. You need to call for an appointment. It's relatively small compared to many of the operations in the valley so it's always been quiet and intimate when we've gone. All of our guides have been so friendly here and easy to talk to which has made the experiences very enjoyable. The wine is good. The Chardonnay is very good. Lots of reviews for wineries in general (not this one specifically) mention being over priced or overrated. Firstly, that's subjective, but more importantly, you're in Napa. I understand where that comes from but at some point you must temper the expectation of getting a bargain with the reality of nothing being cheap anywhere in CA. Anytime someone asks me about Napa the first place I mention is Vine Cliff. It's a unique and genuine Napa winery and tour and we have had great tastings there!

Yelp
Hands down our favorite winery in Napa. Everything about our experience was top-notch. To begin, the woman who took our reservation on the phone was beyond nice and friendly. We spoke for over 15 minutes and she as an absolute wealth of information about Napa, wineries, restaurants, etc. When we arrived at the winery we were surprised to be treated to a private tour of the grounds. This winery is reservation only and they truly value providing a great visit for all guests. Our extremely friendly guide gave us a thorough walking tour of their gorgeous vineyards, crush/press facilities and massive cave. He was extremely knowledgeable and took his time explaining everything. We spent almost an hour and half walking around, tasting grapes, asking questions and being taught about the wine making process. He also lacked all arrogance you find too often in Napa. He described everything in layman's terms for us and we left much more knowledgeable than before. When it came time to taste the wines, we were blown away. Everything was described to us perfectly and you could truly taste the quality. Both of their Chardonnays from Los Carneros were delicious and their Cabs were great. It was here that we made the decision that our carry-on only situation had to change as we needed to bring some of these wines home. The only negative aspect of Vine Cliff is that they don't distribute in our home state. I guess that makes this winery that much more special to us!

Yelp
Having heard good things from a wine broker, I was very excited to check out Vine Cliff. The estate is expansive and beautiful, quite a sight right off the Silverado Trail. Our host, Mark, did a great job sharing the story behind the winery and guiding us through our tasting. While personable and informative, the tour itself felt a bit short of my expectations as we only had brief stints outside and through the wine cave. Regarding the wines, I went through their Chardonnay and several Cabs including the Private Stock 16 Rows. Very good overall, but I have to agree with some of the other reviewers on them being overpriced. An enjoyable experience, just not nearly worth the $25 tasting fee (waived with any bottle purchase now, thankfully, as opposed to the required $100+ before).

Yelp
First time in Napa! Really glad I came here. Stephen was super nice and all the wine and cheese pairings were awesome. Called ahead only the day before and we got a private tasting the next day. It was very cool and the caves kind of felt like the mask of zorro. Generous pours. Ended up leaving with a Chardonnay which I was my first fancy wine purchase (usually I just get two buck chuck or barefoot). I was a little apprehensive at first that they would be snobby or dismissive, especially as me and my friends just turned 21 and look very young, but instead we just had a super nice and classy time. Afterwards we went to the Castello di amorosa which was super crowded and impersonal. Very different vibe and definitely super touristy. I'm glad vine cliff was the first stop, although we also got some pretty good wine from the Castello, and the Castello was $19 as opposed to the $45 wine and cheese pairing at vine. But you get what you pay for and in my opinion, we got a super great deal seeing as they waived $25 for each wine at vine cliff and it was, you know, private and stuff. Heh heh. I felt pretty bougie. Now back to my normal college student life :p

Yelp
I have had their wine at a restaurant experience over a decade ago. I have multiple bottles at home which we have enjoyed. Stopped by the winery with friends after I pumped up their Cabernet. I walked in at 435, website says open until 5 pm. As soon as we walked in we were greeted with "how did you get through the gate", and they wondered if "Michelle let us in". When Michelle came down to greet us, she seemed uncomfortable to accommodate us and asked that we return another day. I have NEVER been turned away for service especially when the establishment had not yet officially closed. We were there within their perimeters of their business hours! Very unprofessional, rude and snooty and with all the amazing wineries surrounding Napa Valley, I will never return. I've never written a yelp review but felt very compelled to do so in this case.

Yelp
This negative rating is solely based on the service. Myself and three girlfriends were traveling on a weekend girls trip in wine country. We had two different wineries refer us to Vine Cliff with 2 for 1 wine tasting coupons. After sharing this with a guy who worked there, he responded with "we can even do a free tasting depending on what you can do for me." We awkwardly laughed the sexual innuendo off and asked to sit outside. After reviewing the menu we decided on buying a bottle of wine rather than the tastings. The bottle prices were listed on the menu, and we pointed to a Chardonnay we wanted for $40. He immediately acted offended and told us by not doing the tasting we were making him "lose" money because the tastings would've been $70, and the bottle we wanted was less. I was shocked by this. I calmly expressed that we should have the right to choose whatever we would like off the menu as paying customers. He then told us he would have to confirm that he could let us do that. He returned telling us he could "make a one time exception" (to give us a clearly stated menu price!). He continued to be rude and condescending, he charged us over $50 for a charcuterie board, that he claimed he put more food than usual on. Long story short, this place was the least satisfactory place of the entire weekend. Customer service is lacking, and inappropriate conversation to customers should not be tolerated. Will not return or recommend to others.

Yelp
Lovely spot up on the hill, quite serene. Feels more like Sonoma with the tranquility. The staff is lovely, lowkey, knowledgeable, and friendly. Enjoyed the tour and the caves were beautiful. The wines I had were intense, balanced and sophisticated, but pricey. Very intimate.

Yelp
Vine Cliff is one of my favorite vineyards in Napa. I've been twice and on my second trip I was with my uncle who loves the wines but has never visited. We drove up without an appointment but they squeezed us in and were extemely nice about it. The tasting room and grounds are beautiful which always makes the tasting experience that much better. Now, onto the wines. Personally I think this is the ultimate "you get what you pay for" vineyard. Their $150 cab tastes like $150. So many expensive wines don't taste like it but honesty I would probably pay more for this. And their less expensive wines are still amazingly delicious. Yes I would consider it a high end winery but if you're willing to splurge every once in a while I think Vine Cliff is the PERFECT place to do it. And if you don't want to splurge too much, their $60 cab is just as mind blowing for the price. Love it!!! Definitely one of my top 10 vineyards.

Yelp
This was by far the best vineyard we stopped at on our most recent Napa outing. We ended up here by chance. We went wine tasting the Friday after Thanksgiving and found a handful of the vineyards we had scheduled in our minds were closed. So I said, "Turn into the next winery on the left." Which happened to be Vine Cliff. Don't get discouraged by the large gates and the "appointment needed" sign discourage you. Simply call up on the key pad and your appointment will be made. This winery is great because it is classic and not commercial. It feels as though it is off the beaten path, but it is smack dab in the middle of Siverado Trail. We were the only people there at the time and did half of our tasting in their caves, which was pretty awesome. I think they have changed their policy since the previous review. We received free tastings with our purchase of under $100. Wine recommendations: Chardonnay, Cab, & Merlot

Yelp
I have probably visited 20 wineries in Napa and I have to say this is my favorite. I just dug the way everything was set up and the tasting was just how I like. Personal and laid back and with good wine to boot. This is one of the places I would suggest to anyone who wants a nice Napa time. Oh yeah. It's on the Silverado Trail also, which is a much better place to be than the St. Helena Highway.
google avatar

Panos K.

Yelp
They have the best Cab I have ever tasted, 2004 16 Rows. It's not for anyone on a budget, at ~150 a bottle it's the most expensive bottle of wine I have ever bought. Damn the French influences of my childhood... I'm a believer in special moments not occasion, I'm keeping my bottle of 16 Rows for one of those special moments. :) The one reason why I don't give Vine Cliff 5stars, price. At that price you get what you expect. It's not a find. I often wonder if my membership in their wine club is really worth it... of course by the time I think of canceling my membership I get a new bottle shipped at my door, taste it, and then hit the reset button for another 3months on canceling my membership.

Yelp
My tour was perfect! I brought five friends and family and this was easily the highlight of our day. The wine was the best of five wineries we visited

Yelp
Carolyn is an amazing person. She made the whole experience fun and gave us knowledgeable information for the releases we tasted. I must say, it was wildly entertaining and I am happy I gave this spot a try. Cheers.

Yelp
This is a great vineyard with tons of history. The property is gorgeous and the wine caves are magnificent. Their reserve Cab is sublime. The tasting room staff is courteous and very knowledgeable. If you join the wine club you can have private lunches here with all of your buddies!

Yelp
We went to Napa for the first time this September. Vine Cliff was clearly one of the highlights! We had a personal Tour with Pete which was fantastic! Also tasted 4 wines. Private Stock Cab, Zinfandel and two Chardonnay's all excellent! We did the Country wine experience with Vine Cliff with a picnic lunch by their Pond. It was great and they let you drink more than just a sip!

Mark C.

Yelp
I was disappointed with Vine Cliff. When I called they told me that I would expect an hour tour + tasting. We actually only toured the wine caves for about 15 minutes then went back to the impromptu tasting room. They seemed much more intent on selling us their wines then really spending quality time with us. The older fellow with the grey hair was not that friendly at all...They only offered 4 bottle of wine to taste, Los Carnerors Chardonnay, Merlot, Malbec and the Napa Cab. Unfortunately, they did not have their special wine, Proprietess Reserve Chardonnay in stock. The wines were pretty good, but not worth the high price tags Malbec was $60 and the 2004 Napa Cab was $80. Also - the tasting fee is very high at $25 per person and they will only waive it if you purchase $100 of wine per person! That is virtually unheard of in the Napa wine country. Most wineries will refund the tasting fee is youi just purchase one bottle of their wine. There are so many other great wineries in the Napa Valley so unfortunately I cannot recommend Vine Cliff.

Yelp
I visited Vine Cliff with a girlfriend this past Monday and had a wonderful time. I was part of Beau Wine Tours group and my driver made us a reservation before hand. Staff member Joey was such a nice guy and an awesome tour guide! He gave us a tour of the facility and the vineyard outside. Such a beautiful property with a great view! He was very informative and dished out all the details on the history of their property and makings of their wine. I loved how we got to start the tour off with a tasting and he allowed us to carry our wine glass throughout the tour. There was a nice picnic area outside with a pretty view of their sweet little pond. Winery very small but still lovely. Thanks Joey! -Jasmine

Yelp
This is place is incredible. You do a brief walk around the grounds and taste wines as you go. The gardens are perfect, the staff is warm and extremly knowlegable, and willing to answer any questions you may have. Can't say enough good things about this place, make an appointment and go, especially in the summer time, when everything is in full bloom.

Yelp
My wife and I were in Napa and we visited the winery where Alex took us on a tour and gave us a tasting. A reservation is required at the estate location but not the tasting room. The grounds were beautiful and Alex was both friendly and knowledgable. Vine Cliff makes one of our favorite cabs and we were treated to a terrific experience. Highly recommended!

Sharon C.

Yelp
The grounds are lovely, but that is where my good impression stopped. There is interesting history regarding the older caves and railroad that ran through it in the 1800's. The new cave is impressive and had nice artifacts, but they don't even let you walk through it. The tour was minimal and you had to ask questions to getany information. Pete was a horrible tour guide. The wines were nice, but very over priced. They had 2 nice creamy buttery oaky chardonnays, and two reds. The Cabernet was selling for $150 - about twice the price of Silver Oak and about 1/3 as good. There are too many other good places to taste good wine - don't waste your time here.

Matt B.

Yelp
We had a great time here with Mary Ann showing us around. We got to taste berries off the vines, understood all about the history of the estate, meet the owner Rob, see the crush pad and walk fully though the cave system. While we were in the caves they were racking some cab and we got to taste some right out of the barrel. Afterwards we tasted the winery's wine outside next to their pond. I'd recommend spending some extra time afterward hanging out near the pond. They have a shaded area and a table set up. Very nice. Wines were fantastic and we ended walking away with some of the cabs and didn't have to pay the tasting fee. Highly recommend. One of my favorite places we visited on our trip.
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
Are you a fan of dense, extracted wine with firm tannin? This is your place. It's vines cling to their own gated horseshoe-shaped spot off of the Silverado Trail just north of Yountville. The tastings occur in the nooky center of it all, either in the winery's caves or a spartan room containing a few barrels for show. They have a nice picnik area too. Rich oaky chard, check. Dark, inky merlot and cab, got those too.
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
We went to this winery with a set of friends who live in California and go quite often. This winery was my last favorite. The atmosphere was very plain and not inviting. Staff was nice, but did use foul language. The owner came in and talked to us and was nice. Wine here was on the pricier side compared to other wineries.

Ray C.

Yelp
Wine is good, however, a $25 tasting fee for 4 wines (tastings are 1 1/2 ounces at most) is too pricey. The cost of the tasting doesn't even apply to your purchase unless you spend about $100. Maybe having an empty tasting room on Labor Day weekend is a sign. We come to Napa regularly and are members at many wineries. Very disappointing. Out pricing yourself is never a good idea. Won't go back

Dan L.

Yelp
Vine Cliff wines are excellent. That is the 1st draw. Try their Napa Merlot and Oakville Cabernet. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The setting is spectacular - must be one of the best in Napa Valley, along the Silverado Trail. Beautiful gardens on the hillside. The wine caves carved into the hillside are exceptional. This winery is off the beaten path and has the full package - great wine, staff and setting.

Yelp
I recently visited the Estate with my fiance and we had an incredible experience with Tracey. We had a lunch space set up near their garden and pond, toured the grounds and cave and enjoyed their exceptional wines. We especially loved their Chardonnays. Tracey was passionate, knowledgeable and incredibly kind. Thanks for a great visit!

Dina A.

Yelp
After visiting numerous wineries, we saved Vine Cliff for last (and that was a wonderful decision). Vine Cliff is absolutely stunning. The grounds are really something special. Mark greeted us and took us on a very informative tour. He was wonderful, personable, and very informative. We were able to take a look at the vines, gain some knowledge on the history of the winery, have a tasting, and also have a picnic on the grounds overlooking the pond and bridge. The pond is beautiful. Dining at the specific table we were set up at was like viewing a Monet painting. Breathtaking. This was the perfect way to end our trip to Napa.

Brett L.

Yelp
I'll agree with Brian M's review of the landscaping at this place, but that's as far as I can stretch it. Vine Cliff is off the beaten path, and has some pretty gorgeous surroundings, but from the moment my group stepped into the tasting room, we felt something wasn't right. Here's my main complaint: in order to get a free tasting at Vine Cliff, you have to meet one of 2 qualifications: 1) buy at least $100 in wine or 2) be a member of their wine club. (Did I mention that even if you join the wine club the day of your tasting you'll still pay for the tasting because you aren't "official" to the club until you receive your first shipment?) Everyone in my group of 4 felt like the guy giving us our tasting was a bit "creepy". We actually saw him polish off the remainder of one of the prior group's glasses of wine!! We had booked a tasting which was to include a tour through their wine caves, but only after I asked about it did the guy actually make an offer to show us. Admittedly, the wines are decent enough - not for the faint of heart - but I'm not sure they justify the prices. There are 400 wineries in Napa valley, and I know I can find a wine of equal or better quality in a place where I feel more at home.

TheStone S.

Yelp
This is the perfect place to go if you want to really experience what Napa Valley snottiness feels like. We had visited before and recalled the same feeling of total arrogance and attitude but wanted to give it another shot.... our mistake for going back. Their estate cab is a nice wine albeit not cheap.... for $100+ a bottle, you can do better. The chardonnays are so overly blasted with oak that there isn't a semblance of flavor left. Not to mention they were "running late" so couldn't seat us until 30 minutes after our time. This was despite the fact there was maybe 3 people in the room which apparently was too much for the them to handle. All topped off by major attitude from the guy working the room. Too bad...

Yelp
I am a local - have lived here about 12 years and usually only wine taste these days when we have friends in town. Such was the case yesterday with our good friends here from Brooklyn. We'd visited Vine Cliff apprx. 7-8 years ago and had a great experience then and wanted to visit again. We called after a hike in the morning in Calistoga and easily secured a reservation for the late afternoon. The tasting and tour is incredibly personal - vs. a more typical elbow your way up to the tasting bar and trying to get some attention. At Vine Cliff, Stefan poured us Chard to start and took us for a walk to see parts of the winery specific to their Chard production - the cement "egg" and the crush pad. Same thing as we got into reds. This is the best tasting/tour in the valley, in my opinion. Stefan was outstanding in making it fun, interesting and educational. My guest and I both ended up signing up for the wine club.

Yelp
I visited Vine Cliff over Memorial Day weekend with one of my best girlfriends. I can not speak more highly of our experience. David was amazing, he balanced giving us the ultimate experience while managing a private event that was due to begin setting up at any moment. Vine Cliff was one of my main destinations for this trip and I would have been heart broken if we had to miss it due to scheduling conflicts. David made it work and made my day! I have so many photos of their beautiful property and am looking forward to my first shipment from the wine club! This is a must see when you visit Napa and make sure you ask for David, he is wonderful!!

Yelp
What can I say-our intended Sonoma trip turned into a Napa trip and I am so glad it did! We came across the new Vine Cliff tasting room in Napa, as it was recommended by Flora Springs. The tasting room is a beautiful space, warm and inviting and classy. It is a very versatile tasting room in that you can find comfort sitting outside, standing at the bar, or utilizing the wooden table and other seating places. Great venue for a party as well. Joshua and Bradley were so much fun! Being in the wine industry myself in Washington, I love going to other places and getting treated kindly and getting a feel of our others "work their tasting room". These guys bring fun and education and happiness to that location. And the wine-holy cow, the wine! The wine is spectacular. We tasted through their chards, cabs and cab franc and I was blown away. It is rare I go to another winery or tasting room and like every single wine in the portfolio, but I did here. I like it so much I joined the wine club. Yes, industry people join wine clubs too! I cannot wait for my first shipment in October. Vine Cliff has a great thing going and I would highly recommend their wines, customer service and knowledge to anyone. Next time I visit, we will hit the estate and see the beauty of it. Too bad I am so a plane ride away or I may be there every weekend! Cheers to Bradley and Joshua. Thanks for making our experience so fun! Kristi and Tracy-Visit on Saturday, May 31, 2014.

Yelp
Wonderful place for an intimate setting and wine tasting experience. They do private tastings which is nice and the focus is on the customer. The 2006 cab was my favorite!

Yelp
This review and one other that was posted which questioned Brett L.'s review were removed from the site. Why? Why are any reviews removed?? (6/27/07) the original... I had to laugh at Brett L.'s review. First of all, when one visits a small boutique winery in Napa Valley and the FIRST thing he thinks of is how to avoid a tasting charge, it makes me wonder why he went to a small winery in the first place. I guess he's looking for the free buzz. Great wines cost more and i'm willing to pay it to get the best (the old expression "you get what you pay for" comes to mind). The reason I go to a small winery is to try great wines in a more relaxed atmosphere and that is exactly what happens at Vine Cliff. The grounds are beautiful and my experience with the staff (three visits in three years) is that they have been extremely friendly and knowledgable. The wines speak for themselves and have been among the finest i've tried in California. So if you need a place to get hammered for free, you should head to Lodi. But if you want a slower, more individual approach, i recommend you try Vine Cliff. By the way, the tasting fees are easily waived if you purchase some wine or sign-up for the wine club.

Yelp
Terrific cabernet and a great tour of family-owned small producer where the parents still live on the property. Hospitality manager Pete walked us through production area, some of the vineyard, and the cave while treating us to history of Napa Valley, the property, and the winery. Tasted two chards and three pinots, the last of which was the 2008 "16 Rows" private stock which comes from the initial vines planted at Vine Cliff. Looking forward to aging some of the bottles that we purchased for enjoyment later on down the road and returning when next in California wine country.
