Came in the other day not knowing what I wanted. I forget their names, but both people working the store were super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They pointed me in the direction of these based off what I’d enjoyed before. I loved both bottles! Can’t wait to return.

Got my order wrong! I ordered 2 tinto by esporao montevelho alentejo and they sent me a vinho verde by esporao " Bico Amarelo" . I do not like vino verde.I enjoy reds.Waste of money , time and anticipation if they can't get a shipping order right!

I've lived in the area for 15 years and have tried to give this place a chance so many times; every time I come in, and dare to ask a question, I'm treated like a social pariah. Why give business to a place that sells good wine when there are so many friendlier places that do the same?

A smaller wine shop with a pretty decent selection. The wines tend to be higher quality so expect the prices to reflect that. We have been going for years. Also the have a good sake selection.

It's surprising to find a store that really matches my taste in wine. I haven't bought a bottle I didn't like here...maybe there was 1 bottle of pet-nat that I didn't like. ;) Staff and owner are super friendly and knowledgable. I don't live in the area anymore but when I'm back, I stop by to buy a few bottles. Highly recommend!

I have yet to get a bottle of wine here I didn't like. The selection in every price range is consistently solid and you will find plenty of gems among the cheaper options as well. Staff is usually very helpful if you are looking for something specific or can't make up your mind.

Vine Wine is a special store in Brooklyn. You can tell that each bottle is carefully selected because they are all accompanied with a personal, and sometimes hilarious tasting note. The large selection of smaller producers can be overwhelming, but the staff is always happy to help. There are tastings every Wednesday night and that is a very fun way to taste a wine that you may not normally select. The owner, Talitha, is one of the OG’s of the natural wine world. Her shop has been open for over 10 years. Every summer she hosts a Pet-Nat week and reaches out to other local businesses to participate. It’s a full week of tasting Pet-Nat at the shop! Definitely mark the next one in your calendar. I highly recommend going out of your way to shop here if you are not already a regular.

I randomly came across this establishment and was pleasantly surprised! Normally, picking out a bottle of wine can take me forever because there are so many options. What's great about Vine Wine is how neatly categorized the wine selection is. Convenient labels like "under $15" and "for desert" helped me pick up a bottle in no time! Upon checking out, the cashier was very friendly. She also gave me a rewards card to encourage visiting in the future. I'm a fan of this wine stop, I highly recommend it!

Why? Why does the staff have to be so rude? Why must it be so pretentious? Why don't they greet me when I come in? Why do they barely acknowledge me as I decided whether to spend money in their store? Why don't they thank me after I do spend money? Why do they think they're the only wine shop in town? So many questions. No answers. I've given this place multiple chances (almost ten according to my punch card) and every time I walk out feeling like I just annoyed someone with my business. Time to end this abusive relationship. I guess I'm not cool enough for this store. (And neither is my money).

Hey guys. Can you please secure your shelves to the wall. The one against the north Wall by the window looks like it's about to come crashing down. When you look at it from the sidewalk, you can see that it's fully on an angle, and it's just a matter of time before all those bottles come crashing down on somebody. Dear Vine Wine, What happened to you guys? You used to be the shit. You still have this great, rotating selection of wines but your STAFF! Wow. I've bought wine here 3-4 times a week since you guys opened and the past few months have brought the most unfriendly, obnoxious staff in the whole neighborhood. What happened to greeting customers when they enter the store? What about "thank you", "see you soon", "cheers"? Have manners gotten old or are you simply adjusting to the awkward crowd of disrespectful millennials that populate the neighborhood? Please do something, I would love to get a better vibe at your store than when buying food at Ctown.

I was visiting a friend in the area on a Wednesday night. We stopped in for a brief visit to try the wine tasting. This particular night was white wines from a variety of places in central and eastern Europe. Not only was the server very knowledgeable, but the wines were really fantastic and not very expensive! Perusing through the store, you realize they have a good selection, though still quite small by some standards, and not pricey. It should be quite easy to find something fine to drink at Vine!

Excellent wine shop close to the Metropolitan Ave G stop. They have old world vs. new world section. They also have a section for wines under $15. I was going to a BYOB painting class nearby, so I stopped in to get a nice bottle of Carmenere. My bottle was from Chile and a good solid wine. Medium-bodied, dry and good to the last drop. I would definitely come back when in the area to buy some more wine for a painting class or a dinner party with friends or a clandestine rendezvous in sexy Brooklyn!

A very cool alternative wine bar right off a subway station so you can grab a bottle on the way to wherever you're going. I walked in and saw Hardy's "Dirty & Rowdy" wine knowing this was going to be legit. One of the owners loves to geek out about the vino as much as I do and we talked everything from Scholium Project to Jura to Radikon. Great little place to pick up something not so mainstream

Was overcharged for the bottle I purchased, apologized and told that the label was wrong, and asked if I wanted to return it. Obviously I didn't want to return it over a small price difference, but I should have been credited the difference between the advertised and overcharged price, no questions asked. Disappointed and won't return or recommend.

I never write reviews but here we go.. bad vibe. Rude staff. Also when I asked for a natural, organic, sulfate free wine she suggested everything that wasn't. I'll spend my wine elsewhere the vibes are pleasant, kind and a real selection that is actually natural organic and sulfate free.

Cutest wine store in the universe! Very varied selection of wines, many under $15., with detailed info on the wines. Gorgeous corner space. A ktchen in the back, doling out nice cheeses and wine tastings. The friendliest folks work here. They give out cute carry bags with purshase. I bought a Spanish sherry for $14.95. Makes me wish I lived in Williamsburg.

We live down the block and this is our go to wine store. First off they have a wine card, so the more you drink and the more you spend the higher your discount will be once the wine card is filled :) the staff is super nice, and knows their stuff. free wine tastings every wed- sign me up!

An absolute delight. I walk in armed with little more than a need for a gift and some vague, scattered tasting notes. The store is welcoming and bright, and the shelves attractively, attentively stocked with an array of varieties at a range of prices...and always end up with a beautiful bottles that are carefully wrapped and bagged (gift ready!) that I feel confident about. Really well-curated selection, knowledgable staff, frequent buyer card...I often walk out of my way just to stop in here. Definitely the best in the area.

A great - and friendly - wine store in Northeast Williamsburg. Special shoutout to Jonathan, the store's manager, who is a highly knowledgeable and passionate about wine. The liquor section is a bit esoteric on brands, but clearly small boutique makers that were picked up for their quality.

My favorite wine store in all nyc. Astor wines is second favorite cuz it's massive, but Vine has never let me down with the great selection and solid recommendations from lovely staff. Their corkscrew bottle opener has never failed me. I really appreciate the window displays and the sandwich board newsfeed. I used to work nearby and walking by Vine I would nod and give a little mental thumbs up. For these reasons I will continue to go out of my way to visit Vine for all my wino needs. And also to fill up my punchcard for that free bottle.

My husband and I have been going to Vine for 4 years now, and we want to LOVE it. Maybe our expectations are high, but we enjoy how thoughtful the window displays are.. we enjoy the selection of wine. But we hate.. HATE the mightier than thou- mentally that plagues every ONE of their employees. No one is friendly, no one says hello and we have the most awkward encounters there.. We live down the block for pete's sake - we frequent this place OFTEN. I get it, people who live and breath wine take themselves wayyy seriously, but honestly I am live by the catch more bees with honey mentality. Smiling and greeting customers goes way further than ignoring them and being stand offish. Now it's come to the point where we would rather walk 10-15 min, then purchase wine from place.

We stopped in here on a whim this Saturday on our way back from an event at Brooklyn Kitchen. We spotted it because it's conveniently right off the L (if only it weren't shutting down soon). It's a small shop, but really well curated wth tasting notes accompanying every wine and liquor they sell. We had been looking for a new gin to add to our bar and ended up grabbing a Hayman's old tom. An especially great shop to head to to buy a gift or et the right pairing for a dinner party. The 15 and under section was pretty well stocked.

I walked in needing a bottle of wine for my dinner. Luckily it is only a block away from where I live. The place is clean and it smelled of home cooked cookies. I was told they had just made granola. The place is divided so you can easily browse the options of old world vs. new world and red vs. white. The rack in the middle has their under $15 selections. After looking around I picked three different bottles. A good place to go to if you are in the area and need a bottle of wine.

This is my absolute fav wine shop. It's great that it's on my way home from work too! They have tastings every Wednesday night, which I thoroughly enjoy as it introduces me to many different kinds and varieties of wine. Occasionally, they also have tastings on Saturdays or Sundays too and they don't only have wine, but also spirits. They things they carry are different and great fun to experience. The people are super nice and super friendly and helpful My go-to wine shop.

The guy on the corner of Metropolitan and Union right outside of the L entrance probably gets most of the business around my 'hood. And he's a nice guy but his wine selection is for shit. Thank jeebus for Vine Wine. They are friendly. They are well priced. They care about wine. They offer a buy 10 deal. The store is pleasant to visit. They have free wine tastings on Wednesdays. They have lovely window installations. What are you waiting for!

A hip feeling little wine shop. The service here was friendly and the selection was decent. It is a SMALL shop but we found 2 bottles for under $10- they actually had 20 bottles for under $10. They had helpful write-ups tagged on select bottles. Whenever you can find wine for under $10 it is always a good thing! The Merlot from Chile Terra Andina was excellent- a little young and mild- us Californians like our wine BOLD :) But it has a smooth finish and lingers nicely. I hope the Cabernet from Argentina will be good.

It is an absolute pleasure to shop here. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable. I often ask for their recommendations & they have turned me on to some delicious wines. There is a great selection of $15 wines. My favorite wine shop in the area.

My very favorite new addition to the neighborhood. Here's the breakdown. Stars 1-2: For an excellent and diverse selection. Their hand-selected array of wines leaves no room for your Yellow Tails or Little Penguin types. From the tastings (see below) I have sampled quite a few & everything has been great. I know what I like, but trust that the excellent collection will turn me on to some new vineyards. You can do no wrong here. Prices are totally reasonable. Star 3: The owners are awesome. They invite distributors to come and provide wine tastings (beautiful setup) every Wednesday 6-9pm (?) and sometimes on the weekends. The staff is very knowledgable and each wine selection has a cute handwritten note that describes the contents. Personality shines through. Star 4: "Nice" boxed wines & rewards card. (All of the selections are tasty, but the one with a French frog surfing on a baguette is my fav!) Buy 12 wines and then take the average price as a discount towards your next purchase. Star 5: Location & Hours. Open late, even on the weekends & I can see the store from my window :) Thank you Vine Wine. We needed you!

I like Vine WIne. They put a lot of care into what they do. The hanging descriptions show a great deal of interest in their selections (although smaller tags might not cover the entire label). They also take feedback well, and have added some awesome selections. All in all, the neighborhood is lucky to have this little spot. Maybe a tad bit pricey, but I guess that is what it takes to make a great contribution to the neighborhood. It's definitely the best wine shop in the area and the people there are fantastic.

This is my primary wine store. They have a good selection, a ton of bottles under $15, interesting booze from local and small batch producers. The staff is super helpful and don't just direct you to the most expensive bottles, but really try to find something that fits for your circumstance (budget and occasion). They have a large format selection that is perfect for large dinner parties. These aren't jug wines, but respectable wines in large format bottles. There are some really interesting selections from California, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, and other lesser known wine producing countries like Slovenia and Greece. The Wednesday Wine and Saturday Spirit tastings are a must. They try to get producers in to pour when possible. You get to know a ton about what is put into the production. If driving, there is usually a spot right in front of the store or just around the corner. There is a discount on cases, so that's nice. Do read the tags on the bottles. They are informative and sometimes really funny ("like a lover's warm embrace").

I was so sad when Brooklyn Kitchen moved out of this space, but Vine Wine has definitely been able to fill that hole in my heart. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this place! The staff is always friendly and helpful, never pushy, snooty or dismissive. They are very knowledgable about the wines that they stock, will offer you plenty of options, and know their way around a good wine/food pairing. The price tags on each bottle also offer a description of the wine, so there is no need to be intimidated by the selection here, even if you are not yet familiar with the small production vineyards who's wine they stock. There is a wide variety of price points in this shop, so you would be hard pressed to walk out of here without something that fits your budget. The up-scale box of wine options are excellent for parties or for the times when I just feel like having a whole lot of wine on hand (without taking up the space that bottles do in my small fridge). There is also a little liquor sections, where I have purchased a few nice 'white dog' whiskeys. An added bonus: the rewards card. After you buy 12 bottles of wine, they take the average price of your purchases and you get to choose a wine of that price to take home for free!

My fave wine shop in Brooklyn for many years. Friendly, unpretentious weekly wine (and cheese) tastings. Vast and easy to navigate $15 and under selection. Clear and concise descriptions of each bottle! Plus, a lot of nice local spirits to choose from. I love Vine Wine!

Found this place driving around. Loved that they tag the bottles with the place where it was made and taste. Customer service needs to improve. They were a little harsh. Besides that the place is good and great price on wines

This place is amazing! They have a fantastic collection of wines from all different regions, grapes, and price tags. They have enough that you can take your pick, but not so many that it's overwhelming. I can literally say I have never gotten a bad bottle from them. These guys are a neighborhood operation. They aren't overly intrusive, but extremely knowledgable if you need help, and will always steer you in the right direction. They are real wine experts, but they do it in a down to earth, approachable manner, which is really impressive. I'm a huge wine lover, but I have sever mold allergies, and on more than one occasion they have taken the time to show me great bottles that are suitable for my specific situation. They also have a lot of special little touches-a great loyalty card, wine tastings every Wednesday, and great books. I recommend this place any day, whether you need an every day bottle, or one for a special occasion, they never disappoint.

It's great when the closest wine shop is also small and nice. The have neat, different wines, and will happily spend tons of time talking with you about them...not to mention their great tastings. My other favorite thing is that they always have a set of nice reasonable wines selected for when you DON'T feel like spending alot of money. Nice folks. Good music. super!

Love this place. Unfortunately, I have not yet attended one of their tastings, but I plan to soon. You can find a lot of unique wines here for reasonable prices that cannot be found elsewhere. The staff is very knowledgeable and always willing to make a suggestion. Wish that I had a wine shop like this closer to me.

Do you want to try different, interesting, and most important, tasty wines that are largely at a nice price? You need to check this shop. They go for the different and they don't compromise taste. At other shops I've noticed that the tasting wines lean towards the pricey. Here, the most expensive one was 14.95. A lot of the tastings are run by the shop themselves, which is nice because usually liquor reps are given the table and they can give a car salesperson attitude towards the enterprise. Just, unlike car salespeople, they have the greatest job in the free world. Vine, a 'fine' destination for affordable, different bottles and genuine, polite salespeople.

I love to support local businesses, but really am disappointed in their version of a wine tasting. The woman pouring was not knowledgeable about what she was serving, nor did she engage us in any discussion about the wines. I was disappointed in the "Americas" wine selection, especially in the lack of NY wines and the limited California wines. I guess I just don't get what they are going for.

Continued great service, knowledge and wines deserves another star in my book.

Vine is a jewel of the neighborhood. The staff is knowledgable and helpful. They specialize in small batch wines and/or wineries that grow 100 percent of their own grapes. It seems as if the staff tastes every bottle of wine before they decide to sell it. (And they have amazing taste!). Great selection of wines under $15, too. You really can't go wrong in this shop.

Vine Wine has a very good selection as opposed to a lot of other places in the neighborhood, however, the sales people are a little "too cool" if you get my meaning and agreeing with one of the earlier post's, they seem to make mistakes at the register a little too often.

Ugh ... Here's my little Vine Whine. This is the only Yelp review I've ever written. But this place really irks me. It's super close to my house and have been 5-6 times, but every time I go I don't go back for a few months because the crew is so agonizing to deal with. Commensurately uppity attitudes - typical hipster self important/involved vibe. Not even like talking down about what seems to be a pretty decent (if not standard) inventory, just consistently cold and unwelcoming/can't be bothered. General fail at human/customer service interaction 101. The selections works fine, and the location is great ... Which makes it all the more annoying that I generally avoid it to spare myself the experience of insulting them by shopping at their store. Will usually walk down the hill to Ninis Wine Cellar for friendlier folks, or treat myself to a couple stops on the L train to Henry's for a better selection (and friendlier folk).

Wonderfully warm, friendly, and knowledge staff helped me select the perfect bottles of wine at exactly the price point I was looking to spend. One of them even dug through the refrigerated bottles to find for me already chilled versions of the bottles I was about to purchase, which was very nice! They had exactly what I was looking for and I will definitely be back.

I am so happy Vine Wine is in my neighborhood! The windows decoration is usually comment-worthy but more importantly, they have a wonderful selection of what we love...delicious reds, fun bubbly's, interesting whites, a treasure of spirit gems, nice case discount and great tastings....oh, and we really like the people who work there...they are super helpful and welcoming. Just go!

great neighborhood wine shop. friendly staff and a well edited selection make for an un-intimidating experience. everything is well organized and clearly labeled. i always walk around the entire shop, but end up selecting something from their less than $20 display in the front of the store. i appreciate that they rotate the options and do all the work for me so i can just pop in and walk out with a nice bottle to enjoy at home!

Good selection but you will pay between $3-5 more for any bottle that you would elsewhere. I will only frequent in a pinch. Plus the manager's (?) overly pretentious descriptions never really describe the bottle I buy. I prefer to spend my hard earned money elsewhere.

This is my favorite wine shop. As others have written, they have carefully chosen a number of good affordable wines ($8-$12/bottle). You'll never go home with anything less than decent. That's very helpful when you're say, on your way to a dinner party and want to try something new without embarrassing yourself. I have also bought expensive wines as gifts based solely on their recommendations. The staff is helpful, descriptive, and enthusiastic. And I love their free wine tastings on Wednesdays.

Love this little wine store. Every time I go in I am surprised that they seem to have whatever I need, even if I don't know I need it. Small selection leads me to believe that they actually taste all the wines they sell. You can't be a California only type because that is not their specialty but if you like organic, real wines made by winemakers your selections are endless. Prices seem to range from $8.95 to $75.95 and whomever is working is always happy to find you the right bottle, or dare I say box to suit your needs. And their boxed wine is great organic, small production delicious wine.

Good selection - and always something new to try. The tastings are consistently interesting. Lots of reasonable choices, but you can splurge too. Great to have in the neighborhood.
