Vines On Clark

Great place for stopping by and having some drinks before the game. We ordered a pizza and smash burger. The burger was horrible, it was dry and burnt. I do not recommend it, the pizza was good lots of flavor. The pizza felt like it was a frozen pizza that they added lots of toppings, but it was good and they are big so share it. Service was excellent. Overall I enjoyed it. I would come back just stay away from the burger.

Outdoor area is nice. They had cheap drinks when I was there on a friday evening. Got the job done for sure

Second visit here. Last yearwe ate out on the back patio which was a much better experience. Yesterday, my wife and I ordered salads. Whatever I had last year must not have required utensils or I would have remembered they were plastic. Nothing like eating a salad with flimsy plastic fork. Good grief. The music was absolutely oppressively loud and though we sat indoors to try to catch a little AC, we were too close to the patio opening to reap any benefits. They are definitely short-staffed. Our server did a great job with what she had to work with, covering tables inside/outside and all over the place. Eventually had to chase her down in the bar to get our check, and even after that, it was another 10 minutes before we able to pay up. Next trip to Wrigley we'll head back to Butcher's Tap on Southport. I'm done at The Vines.

Was skeptical when I ordered a pizza here but I'm so glad I did! Great flavor and baked perfectly. My wife ordered the bacon avocado burger and that had great flavor as well. I'm looking forward to visiting again!

Everything started off great.. If I could give negative stars on service I would. We had the most rude waiter, Shaw. We came in with 5 people to eat and watch the Cubs game. At the end of the meal, one person asked to split the check 5 ways on the hand held device. Shaw looked at this person in an annoyed way and goes “FIVE” and she says yes, at which point he does it again, “FIVE.” When going to pay, for each of us he handed the machine, with no itemized way of seeing the items, and took the cards. One person was hesitant to give the card because usually we are given the machine to see the items and then we tap the card ourselves. At which point Shaw yelled at this person “IM NOT GOING TO CHARGE YOU RIGHT NOW” and snatched his card away. on top of this, the food was not up to par and unseasoned, but that’s the least of the complaint.

I do wish there was less sweet and sour sauce, and more crab meat, but great for all of my crab rangoon lovers.

There's plenty of room inside and out! The bartenders are fantastic and friendly. I felt like I was being served like a king and had the bar all to myself.

We stopped here after Cubs game and it was very crowded. Numerous beers, appetizers and pizza available. We had quick efficient service.

Came here after the Cubbies's W yesterday, looking specifically for a quieter venue to eat, drink and celebrate. There was no loud band or DJ, so we entered the large courtyard and sat around one of several fire pit tables. There is at least one corn hole set up, as we didn't go past our table, but it was pretty open and full of trees. Ella was our server and she was very attentive and friendly. My husband and I both ordered the rum peach fizz and it was amazing. We also ordered pretzel sticks...which Ella discovered someone else got our order, so it was comped. Talk about excellent customer service; we didn't ask; she did it independently. Once they were served, the pretzels were hot and tasty, served with both a mustard sauce and a cheese sauce. We would have gladly stayed, but an obnoxiously annoying idiot was banging on plastic 5 gallon paint containers ( he started after we arrived)-- it was loud and he sucked and probably drove away other business as well. They have a large inside eating area and bar, and clean bathrooms.

Came here during a bar crawl. It was the one spot on the crawl that wasn't overly crowded, and it was nice and warm on a freezing day. We ordered our drinks and even got a high table in the seating area. They had bar games playing on the TVs along with sports. I may have been here before during the fall, they have an outdoor patio. Either way, I will be back. It is kinda low key, the music was at an appropriate level & the staff was attentive.

Went for the viral crab rangoon pizza and I was a bit disappointed :( There was too much dough to toppings and also not enough toppings for me. I wanted more crab rangoon flavor. It wasn't a bad pizza by any means, but I was hoping for more (and more flavor). We also ordered the truffle fries which were solid and I really liked the garlic aoli it came with. Seems like more of a bar type food place, so would try more of the appetizers or burgers if I was there again.

We stopped by Vines on Clark just for a beer before the game. Our bartender was awesome, very friendly and talkative. He recommended other places around the city and beers to try. My girl wanted the cheese curds which were good, and the ranch was also really good. I don't remember what it was but it was some special kind of ranch, wasn't just regular ranch dressing. The very end of the bar is literally 10 feet off of Clark street giving a great view (pictured). Also said they have patio seating above the building

Found this place before a Cubs game and returned the next day. Large outdoor area w bars. Lots of people at tables in and out eating but we just drank beers. People working there were the best and I highly recommend this place pre and post game to avoid crushing crowds. Meg lots of great folks here.

So, the food was merely okay. The curds we ordered could have stayed in the fryer a couple minutes longer so the cheese would have been softer. I had the Chipotle Smash burger, which was fine. The menu didn't say it came with onion, lettuce and tomato, but it did. The problem with that? The burger also comes with avocado AND sautéed onions, so it was way too much. My wife had the Santa Fe chicken salad. The only problem with that one? There was no chicken. The manager did make it right. Lastly, our server was sub par. Got orders wrong or incomplete and was very inattentive. I get it, it's a Cubs Saturday, but I've seen it much crazier down here with better service. At least the patio was awesome

Great specials on TUESDAYs! Huge patio to sit and catch a BRUINS game! Service is top notch! Overall decent spot to check if you are in the are! Ziveli!!!

Very friendly staff and overall great food, the crab Rangoon pizza sounds very weird but somehow works and tastes really good. Plus their burgers taste great as well. The vibe of the place is chill as well, location is literally outside of Wrigley Field which is very cool. I recommend the place, check it out if you are in the city or there for a Cubs game.

George was our bartender what phenomenal service. So friendly and what a great place. The food was good as well. Definitely will come back

We were going to a Cubs game and made a day of it in Chicago. We wanted a nice family dinner before the game and decided this was our best bet. We got to sit down right away, and our server Ryan was amazing from start to finish. He even went above and beyond and shock everyone's hand as we walked out. Beyond the service, the food and especially the pizza, was AMAZING. A perfect expectation of traditional Chicago pizza. We will definitely be returning.

Our sever was insanely slow, and kept forgetting drinks. We had 1 table then more friends showed up and I said they are on a separate tab. Then when it came time to pay he forced it to all be on one card. He automatically charged 20%, then made me tip 5% on top of that. Ridiculous service and an awful way to end the experience by being rude and not letting us split the tab 2 ways....it shouldn't be that hard. The only good thing about the place is the big outdoor area. Other than that the service constantly is beyond below average.

Unfortunately, this restaurant has declined since my last visit, which was in 2019. I met some colleagues here for lunch before a Cubs game on a Thursday. Although nothing warned us of this prior to ordering, the restaurant was on some bizarre "game day" menu. You can only order 2 kinds of pizza or a massive double burger. Why? None of us really wanted those items, but we ordered them anyway. I ordered the massive double burger. It was fine, but not what I wanted. I note that although the menu was limited to three items, that didn't make food preparation any faster. It took a loooong time to get us our food. There were not a lot of people at the restaurant so I'm not sure what the issue was.

Always a great time here! We make it a point to stop in before or after a cubs game for cocktails and burgers. Delicious food, relaxed and fun atmosphere and the service is always top notch. Highly recommend!!!

A very nice place. Super nice employees, clean and very good food. Just down from Wrigley Field but outdoor seating was far enough away to avoid the folks walking up/down the street.

We had an amazing time watching college football at Vines on Clark. The drinks are delicious and they had great specials on a Saturday. The outdoor area was huge and had fireplaces for the colder days. We never had to wait more than a few minutes for a drink and George and Jerry at the bar were great and super nice. Lots of TVs inside to watch games and room to accommodate larger parties. Would definitely recommend for football Saturdays!

Service was majorly lacking, even though it wasn't crowded before a Thursday afternoon game. Glad I got my drink order in in the beginning bc our waitress wasn't coming back for a long time. It took over 15 min for a water refill, and I think one of my dining companions actually asked if she went to Lake Michigan to get the water. The Vines burger comes with a butterflied hot dog on top, as well as cheese and guacamole spread I believe. How could I pass up the opportunity to get my hot dog fix on TOP of my burger? It also comes on a pretzel bun, so #winning. My brother's curly fries were forgotten, so the kitchen fried up some fresh ones, but by the time it was served, we were ready to head to the game which had already started. A-OK stop here. The location is definitely key!

Came here with a group of friends while we were in wrigleyville for the pickle festival to grab a sit down meal and get away from the chaos. The food was amazing we all enjoyed everything we ordered, will definitely come back.

The food was great. Came here once during happy hour the bartender Bill was extremely welcoming and tended to all of our needs! We came back again and he was slammed with a runners club traffic and made every customer satisfied even while being the only one behind the bar! Loved the Christmas decorations would highly suggest for a wrigley bar!

Come here for the drink specials, not the food. We came here on a Monday night and got seated right away by the manager. Our waitress came over later and was not very attentive or engaging. We had asked her some questions about the food and she didn't seem too excited to explain anything or even care. Very I-hate-my-job personality. We ended up just ordering what we thought sounded good to share: toasted ravioli, BBQ chicken pizza, buffalo chicken wrap with fries, and the California wrap. The toasted ravioli was the worst thing we tried. It was definitely frozen as can be and was completely disgusting. We sent them back for some standard chicken wings (and learned our lesson about the toasted ravioli-it is your standard bar food place, after all). The buffalo chicken wrap was average and the one thing we finished eating. BBQ chicken pizza was bland, California wrap was ok and the chicken wings were tasteless. The two stars go to the drinks, which were reasonably priced. They definitely need to re-vamp the food menu, it was all pretty bad.

Needs more women's bathrooms/stalls. The womens line is 10x longer than the men's. But Ryan the server is great

drinks so expensive i'm gonna need a LOAN from a bank (however prices probs standards for this area I may be overreacting- $11 with tip for a seltzer???) and ur not allowed to charge ur phone at the bar??? ok weird BUT the truffle fries so good it was damn near ORGASMIC. whatever ranch they had was MICHELIN STAR LEVEL. amazing.

Typical Pub food with decent food. Server acted like she would rather be doing something else and thus, service was marginal at best. Plenty of security and seating.

Haven't been here since the season ended in 2019. It had been our go-to bar in Wrigleville for over 13 seasons. The atmosphere was always fun and inviting due to a great management team, staff and patrons. I have to say our return was so disappointing. The place was a wreck, old tattered rickety furniture, dirty, non-attentive staff and the menu underwhelming with old favorites gone and options limited. When our pizza arrived it was undercooked and flavorless. Time to find another game-day place to pre-game!

I have never been there on a game day but on a regular day this place is great! I have been there for their brunch which isn't that great but for the price it is great. But the regular menu is really delicious and we have tried a few different items. The burger is solid and so was the chicken sandwich. My husband says the nachos are the best thing on the menu. He was disappointed with the buffalo wrap but he is also super particular about his buffalo sauce. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have great specials and a huge patio.

Came here to have a nice cold bud light. Patio is open. Wear your mask! Beer prices are cheaper now that we don't have baseball. I would rather have baseball. Friendly staff. Nice to be outside. We ordered the deep fried cheese curds. Yum. A little too much breading for my taste but good. The royale burger got good reviews- two patties with cheese. Came with fries which were delicious. Skinny just the way i like them. Another person at our table ordered the buffalo chicken wrap- looked really good with lots of chicken. Would definitely come back- one of the few places with a really large patio that allows you to social distance.

Went with a group and made a reservation. First, they didn't actually ask about our reservations, so don't know why they request that you make one? Second, the food was not good. We got a few orders of chicken tenders, two pizzas, some pretzel sticks, and cheese curds. Two of the three orders still had sticky chicken juice on the plate, with some of them not fully cooked. This morning, the two people that ate off of those plates are sick! The cheese sauce that came with the pretzels was not a sauce, it was a thick paste-like dip. No buneo. The pizza had no flavor. Will not be returning or recommending. I understand being short staffed with COVID and trying to get back in the swing of things, but partially raw chicken? No good reason. On the flip side, our server was great so that's what made me add another star to this review. Very friendly and attentive, thanks queen

This place is a stone's throw from Wrigley Field. We visited in December, but I imagine it is packed for games. It is not a big place with an inside capacity of 130 (with more room outside when weather is good), but very nice. The staff is very friendly and the place has a good sports bar ambience. It has a nice selection of beers and all the bar food you would expect. Since it was off season on a Monday, we had great deals on nachos and wine. The nachos were kind of what you would expect--piled high with guacamole, nacho cheese, buffalo chicken, and more. There was some unexpected spice at times. The drinks were good also. I took advantage of the half-price wine, but my brother had a Moscow mule. That came in a mason jar rather than a copper ug, but he liked it. Vines is definitely worth a visit if you are go in to Wrigley Field.

This place should be called Caleb's on Clark because that man is the world's greatest server. I can only imagine the parade they threw for him when he left Kansas City. The chicken fingers were great and the beers were well priced, but both of those facts paled in comparison to the attention Caleb showed us. And it was his second day! Talk about a natural. My favorite moment was when another sever (who shall remain nameless) dropped a plate full of chicken and Caleb shot web out of his wrist to catch it. That was incredible. To top it off, Lyla, the manager had a great sense of humor and treated us well. Overall Caleb/10 experience.

Thought this place looked like a fun place to watch the Cubs game. Rude bartender. Decent wings. Wouldn't go back.

I chose Vines on Clark to go and watch the Monday night Bears game at and it ended up being an excellent choice. There was a big group of us so we ended up indulging in the Buffalo Chicken Nachos, Chicken Fingers, Hot Wings, and a burger with fries. The food was delicious! The chicken fingers were actually REAL pieces of perfectly grilled chicken and not the typical fried or out of the box ones that you would expect! My nachos - beyond wonderful. Nobody could keep their hands out of my plate. I inhaled them! Only drawback was we went on the same night there was a Cubs game so we didnt get the special that was half off of all food and our waiter was a little unfriendly, but Im sure dealing with the drunken foolishness of Wrigley will do that to you. Other than that, it was an awesome time. We got to talk a lot of mess to Cardinals fans who were on their high horse since they'd just blown the Cubs out 8-0 (if Im not mistaken). Great times!

Would give a better review ifI had the opportunity to try it but they advertise being "good for kids" except for they only had 1 high chair so we weren't able to eat there.

Mediocre food and the rudest staff I've ever encountered. Gave an extra star only because the patio area was nice.

GREAT salads here!!! Super filling! I loved the southwest salad and my friend had a great Caesar salad!

ok i want to give a higher review because the food was genuinely so good and I love the patio area, but the service was terrible! We were told to order from the outside bar .... and when we went there they told us to order at the inside bar .... and we went there they told us to order from a waiter at our table .... and after waiting for 30 minutes for a waiter to come over to us ... we finally flagged one down ... and she told us they don't wait on customers in this section and we needed to go to the outdoor bar - fullllll circle. How the hell am I supposed to order? Finally we got our order in and the food was really amazing - it was a fun experience despite the service.

We were going to the Cubs game and was meeting up with family at the Vines. Was told it was a family friendly restaurant. My wife and our 3 year old arrived to meet up with other family and was immediately asked to see identification to see if we were over 21 to get into restaurant. Thought it was very strange considering you could see children in the restaurant playing in the patio. We asked the surrounding tables if they were carded. No one around us was asked for identification. Crowd in restaurant was mostly families. Not sure why were singled out. Out server was our saving grace food was ok and prices were a little high. Would have had a better experienced if we weren't singled out.

I really enjoyed this place. We ate and drank here before a Saturday afternoon Cubs game. It's well run and clear that it's not their first rodeo. We found a spot on the patio in the shade of the building next door but they had plenty of covered tables. Service was quick and efficient. Our server was fun, knew the menu well, and made sure our drinks were fresh and the food arrived without much delay. I had the buffalo chicken wrap figuring it was simple bar food. I was really surprised as to how good it was and I'd order it again. The rest of the table shared a bunch of appetizers and everyone enjoyed the choices. For Wrigleyville, the food and drinks are affordably priced. The next time I'm heading to a Cubs game, I'll stop at Vines on Clark!

It was my first time trying this place out on Sunday around the time the Cubs game finished. I immediately thought it was going to be a nightmare inside but surprisingly, it was quite pleasant. I went to celebrate my friend's birthday, and I brought her a cake. Her sister had called a day ahead of time to make sure it was allowed. When I got there the bouncer at the front door didn't want to let me in because of the cake but was surprisingly not rude. I explained to him the situation, didn't know how to handle it, so he called someone out. A guy came out said that the cake wasn't allowed, but that it would be okay for this time. I asked for his name and introduced himself to Nick and said he was the manager. I am extremely grateful for him not making it into a big deal asking names and time of when my friend's sister called to get the okay. Nick went as far as walking us over to where my friend's were sitting, and then took the cake and said to tell our server when we were ready for them to bring it out. When it was time, our lovely server brought out the cake with the candles lit, and then took it back to cut it for us. My husband and I weren't that hungry so we ordered some appetizers. Here's what we ordered and what I thought: - nachos with buffalo chicken: the presentation was pretty sloppy (I wish I had taken a picture). The cheese was a white cheese, different than the expected but wasn't enough for my taste. There were so many tortilla chips that had nothing on them. The lettuce they put on top didn't taste fresh, I didn't like it. It tasted exactly like bagged shredded lettuce that has that distinct taste and smell. The buffalo chicken is shredded that reminded me buffalo chicken dip just FYI in case you wanted to know. -mozzarella sticks: nothing special but didn't disappoint. Would I come again? Yes but won't order nachos. They had a decent size menu option. I will come hungry next time. Once again, thank you Nick and staff. Everyone was really friendly.

Is this place right next to Wrigley? Yes Is it okay to drink at? Yes Does it have a big outside area? Yes Is any of the food we ate good? No it is not, but it is a typical bar by Wrigley. Not really a food spot more for drinking.

Came here on a Saturday evening and sat out on the patio. Vines was pretty busy so I don't entirely mind the wait, however, the food was nearly inedible. We ordered the nachos which had very little cheese and no chicken, despite having spent an additional $4 for meat. Beers are pricey at $5/Bud Light, but that is to be expected in the Wrigley area. Probably going to avoid this place.

This place probably has the best specials in Wrigleyville when the Cubs are out of town. The food special on Mondays is 50% off all food items with other $3 draft specials. I got a large 14 inch specialty pizza and beer for $11. You can't beat that. Plus the pizza was excellent. Other items on the menu include burgers, wraps and salads, (simple gastropub fare). This food here is priced very reasonable without the discounts. A lot less than what you'd pay at a bar or gastropub downtown. The patio seating outside and bar area inside was pretty hip. I can only imagine how crowded this place gets when the Cubs are in town. Servers were very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Kendra the bartender also was a joy to talk with and treated the guests with much respect.

Would be one star but gave 2 because the server Emily was really nice. Other than that, the experience starts with rude and ends with mediocrity. The guys at the door were so rude my husband and I had to take a moment to stop and think "are they kidding"? They asked for ID without looking at us and we looked around to who they were talking to and realized it was directed at us... so really some odd power "I'm too good for this sh*t job move" visual at the get. Then asked to search my husbands bag with a very aggressive tone and made us feel like going through a guard to visit a prisoner in jail. Finally in there was fine and the service was good... but our experience was already tainted. We could hear other patrons saying the same around us. Side note- it was called Vines on Clark with a cool steel sign made of twisty vines.... so you think wine right? Well it had a relatively light menu in that regard and otherwise was reminiscent of your standard sports bar and food... so name and appearance seemed misdirected. Honestly, it would have been just fine and un-Yelp-worthy had our first experience with the place not been greeted with rude hostility at the front door.

Can't beat the location or the open air patio and windows. We got a nice spot for the Pearl Jam concert and was directly across from home plate area and it was great for people watching. The bartender was very attentive and kept our Old Styles coming. Would come back, but it would have to be early enough to get a prime spot. The place was NUTS before the show with a line down the street to get in. The bouncers do suck though. They are older gentlemen who really take that "STAFF" on their shirts seriously. Not very pleasurable

Was here right before a Cubs game and we decided to have lunch and drinks. We got there early so there was plenty of seating outside and inside. We chose a high top inside. The menu offers your typical bar food. I ordered the wings and they were very good. The wings were huge and full of meat, very juicy and tender. I ordered the wings appetizer but it was a meal for me. The service was a bit slow but it wasn't the waitresses fault, she apologized profusely and told us that one of the servers called off. Poor girl had so many tables I don't know how she was keeping track. But she was very nice and we appreciated her honesty. I couldn't be mad when she forgot my water but then as she looked at me remembered and brought it over right away. Nice place to have a drink before the game.

I live really close to this place. The food arrived in record time,like 20-25 minutes. The food was still somehow cold (mostly the burger.) The burger was pretty tasteless. The fries were ok, but they are not the focus of your order.

Solid bar/restaurant just down the street from Wrigley. Their Monday specials were amazing-half price all food and $5 beers and $5 you call it. Idk if that's just for non game days, but that's a great deal. We got several apps-fried ravioli, wings, lamb sliders. and I got the meatball soup, all very good. Has a lot of outdoor seating that's nice, or in the veranda type place with the glass ceiling, which is where we sat. Overall definitely nicer than some of the spots down Clark street, would not be opposed to returning

On May 16th my family and I attempted to enter this establishment around 1 pm . The guy at the entrance allowed my wife and I to enter. In the mean time my son and daughter were rudely stopped by the man who practically guarded the entrance. He stated you two go in and you two stay! Damn that pissed me off. Very rude! So the wife and I walked in and said that guy was rude as hell. So finally when my son and daughter were allowed in we all decided " the hell with this place" and walked out. As we walked out using an exit down the street a little this guy was yelling at us saying " good bye"! What a terrible representative of your business.
