Yelp
What a cute place. They do "tours" of the winery, meaning you can check out their decanters and explain the basic maceration and fermentation process, which is more profitable in the cooler weather for temperature regulation. The actual vineyards are down the road on 94 (travis rd) off of the 64. They import an number of Canadian muscadine grapes for their blends.
The tasting room is downtown, right on 64, visible from the road. The lady running the tasting room was super friendly and easy to talk to. She let me try pretty much everything. The have a variety of muscadines and of course the Scuppernog varietals.
For the whites: there's the crisp Catawba Belle, Girls of Summer is a sweet muscadine blush best chilled, Simply Scuppernong is a sweet white Muscadine, but my favorite was the Riesling (a blend of apple).
For the reds: standard red Jackass easy table wine (not named after the owner) and Jingles with a hint of chocolate (couldn't resist a bottle of this)
They also have a peach, blackberry and apple wines which are very sweet and fruity- very much dessert wines.
Their showroom had a good variety of other items to browse, well maintained and presented, impressive for a small production. Some of the labels have a local artist's designs, which are also featured on cards and other keepsakes in the store, which is nice.
Definitely worth a stop.
