Vinile - Review - Flatiron - New York - The Infatuation

"From the team behind Vinyl Steakhouse, Vinile Chophouse is an Italian restaurant in Union Square (vinile is Italian for vinyl). They claim to have the city’s largest collection (in a restaurant) of Frank Sinatra albums, and they’ll be spinning these while serving pastas, whole fish and steaks. There are two private dining rooms and a chef’s table experience as well. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

In a sea of options to choose from in NYC, this place is special. There is so much care put into everything but they make it seem effortless. The food was superb. Get the brussel sprouts and a pasta course though for sure. The service was so natural and helpful, like sitting at your good friend’s house. It’s an independently owned restaurant which is even better. A lot of care goes into great dining here, and with no pretentiousness. Go check it out! They even let you choose a record (actual vinyl) album side you’d like to hear.

I was organizing a work dinner that we booked only 2 days in advance for a larger party (started as 12 people then dropped to 9) which is not easy to find in Manhattan. We were pleasantly surprised to get placed in a private room which made it so much easier to hear each other and talk. We had Antonio as our server who was phenomenal!! He was so attentive, hilarious and had EXCELLENT recommendations. My favorites were the rigatoni, beans, mushrooms, porterhouse, and the bread service! Seriously everything was delicious though. Go check them out now!

Spotted: at Vinile — the sexy new Italian chophouse turning tables and heads. Brought to you by the team behind Vinyl Steakhouse, this spot is serving up sultry sashimi, seafood, sizzling steaks, and fresh-baked bread and truffle risotto that’ll make you weak in the knees. The wine + cocktail list? Dripping. The vibe? Vinyl records spinning rock, funk, disco, and desire. Get it in.

I loved everything about Vinile Chophouse! As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the owner Kevin. We had a nice conversation with him and went to our seats upstairs on the loft. Seeing the bar and entrance from up top was a cool view. Our waiter Patrick was very informative and gave a lot of good suggestions. We had a lot of questions so it was helpful. The food and drinks were all on point. The Octopus Ceviche might have been my favorite. Definitely will be back!

Vinile is a fabulous find. The sound system that was custom made for the restaurant absolutely make the old vinyls sound extraordinary. We had a cocktail to start at the bar before our dinner. We were recommended the Mezcalino which was delicious. We had a fabulous table upstairs that overlooks the bar, we loved seeing all the old records and seeing which ones were going to be played next. We did wait some time for our meal, the staff were incredibly apologetic and very kind about our wait. We were not disappointed when the food arrived. We both had the fillet mignon which was 8oz/230g. It was cooked to perfection, the sauce that was accompanied with it was delicious. We had the Brussel spouts with ricotta and the potato mulino (mash potatoes). This restaurant is fun, the music is outstanding and the food is brilliant. I would thoroughly recommend going, I would also go back in a heart beat.

Vinile Chophouse delivers a sophisticated yet inviting atmosphere that blends classic steakhouse elegance with modern lounge vibes. Dim lighting, plush seating, and curated vinyl music create a cool, nostalgic backdrop that's both stylish and comfortable. The bar is a true highlight—offering an impressive selection of craft cocktails, premium spirits, and a wine list that complements the menu beautifully. Bartenders are knowledgeable and attentive, mixing drinks with both skill and flair. Whether you're there for a full dinner or just a nightcap, the ambiance and bar experience make Vinile a standout.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this truly remarkable restaurant that left a lasting impression. From the moment I stepped inside, the ambiance was enchanting, creating a beautiful backdrop for a delightful evening. The combination of exquisite wine and carefully curated music set the perfect tone, enhancing the overall experience. The vibrant atmosphere was complemented by a young, lively crowd, which added to the restaurant's charm. The drinks were not just delicious; they were outstanding, showcasing a creative flair that delighted the palate. Now, let's talk about the food! The Italian pastas were simply out of this world—each dish was a masterpiece that showcased authentic flavors and impeccable execution. Every bite was a testament to the chef's skill and passion for Italian cuisine. Service was another highlight of the evening. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that our experience was seamless from start to finish. They were genuinely invested in making our night special. Lastly, the playlist was on point, perfectly matching the restaurant's vibe and adding to the overall enjoyment of the evening. I left feeling satisfied and eager to return. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience!

This place is an absolute must if you’re anywhere near Manhattan. Every part of the night was incredible- one of those rare experiences where everything just feels right. The food is flawless and the cocktails are killer. Kevin and Sophia have created something special, and the warmth of the entire team- Julia, Alan, Ryan, Antonio, the entire kitchen.. made it feel like a night with friends rather than just dinner out. Already planning the next visit!

Yelp
After hearing so much buzz about Vinile Chophouse in the Flatiron District, I finally had the chance to experience this Italian-inspired gem for myself - and it absolutely exceeded all expectations. Exceptional Service That Sets the Standard From the moment we walked through the doors at 31 West 17th Street, the attentive service was immediately apparent. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and anticipated our needs without being intrusive. The staff's genuine hospitality truly embodies the restaurant's "Come As You Are" philosophy, making us feel like royalty throughout the entire evening. Every detail was handled with care, from the perfectly timed course delivery to the thoughtful wine recommendations. The Music Experience: A Stroke of Genius What truly sets Vinile apart is their incredible vinyl music concept. The restaurant features an extensive collection of vinyl records spanning rock, funk, pop, jazz, Italian disco, and iconic crooners, all played through a world-class Italian K-Array speaker system. The nostalgic sounds create an atmosphere that's both sophisticated and energetic - you feel transported while the music perfectly complements the dining experience without overwhelming conversation. Outstanding Cuisine Chef Joseph Roperti has crafted a menu that brilliantly marries Italian elegance with classic American chophouse traditions. The handmade pasta was exceptional, and their award-winning prime steaks lived up to their reputation. Every dish showcased quality ingredients and expert technique. The fresh raw bar offerings and creative chophouse dishes like the Wagyu Bavette demonstrated the kitchen's versatility and skill. Atmosphere and Ambiance The space itself is stunning - replacing the stuffy white tablecloths of traditional Italian dining with a sexy, Italian chic vibe. The intimate setting, combined with the vinyl spinning ambiance, creates an experience that feels both upscale and relaxed. Whether you're at the gorgeous bar or in the main dining room, the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and approachable. Final Thoughts Vinile Chophouse has successfully created something truly special in NYC's competitive dining scene. The combination of exceptional service, innovative music concept, outstanding food, and welcoming atmosphere makes for an unforgettable evening. This is the kind of place that reminds you why New York City dining is legendary. Highly recommended for: Date nights, special celebrations, business dinners, or anyone looking for a unique dining experience that breaks the mold of traditional Italian restaurants - this place is definitely worth planning ahead for!

Yelp
I initially had reservations for Vinyl Steakhouse, but I saw this sister location and was intrigued. I didn't know that it was a newly opened restaurant, so our party was in for the ride. I made dinner reservations for Friday at 7:30pm. We were seated right away at the 2nd floor. The restaurant was elegant but had a lot going on with pushing the DJ vinyl vibe, which you got more of that feel downstairs. They have an eclectic collection of music, so the playlist for the evening was pleasantly random across different genres. I personally enjoyed that. What's cool is that you can request an artist/album, but unfortunately we didn't get to hear our request during our dinner (Van Halen's 1984 album). Not a make or break, but it would've been a cherry on top. Customer service was great. Food came out in a timely manner, and hats off to our server, Patrick. Personable, attentive, and wanted to make sure we were having a quality experience. I ordered the Milkshake cocktail, which was a treat! I believe the hard spirit was vodka with prosecco that I poured over a lemony sorbet. It basically reminded me of a boozy granita. Loved the bread service. Vinile has this beautiful focaccia topped with sweet grilled onions. We were offered options of Nduja butter, a burrata/olive oil dip, or white anchovies. We settled on the burrata dip, which was a solid choice, and Patrick hooked me up with a couple of fresh anchovies. We shared the brussels sprouts, ribeye, soft shell crab, and pappardelle with beef cheeks: The brussels came on a whipped ricotta spread. We ordered this as a side dish to the steak instead of a small appetizer plate. The pappardelle was the best dish. Perfectly al dente pasta, tender beef, and lovely sauce. I wasn't sold on the ribeye at first, but it got better the longer it rested. Its accompanying sauce was nice. The soft shell crab was my least of the 4 dishes, and we all agreed that it was a missed opportunity. I thought the sauce was too salty, and maybe it would've benefited from a light battered fry (probably being biased because that's how I prefer soft shell crab to be prepped).

Yelp
We had a great experience here last week. Had never even heard of it but it came up on a quick search of restaurants in the neighborhood and we're so glad we stopped in. Everything we had was delicious (tartare, risotto, bavette, bone marrow bread) and the service was super friendly. It was a bit expensive but I'm happy spending a few extra dollars if the quality and service are there. Which they were! We also met the owner who explained that this is their second restaurant and have a more traditional steakhouse nearby. We plan to check it out in the next few weeks as apparently that's the original.

Yelp
I was here for my friend's birthday and unfortunately we were all disappointed. It has by far been one of the worst dining experiences I've had. 1. Food is extremely overpriced for the mediocre taste and tiny portion. Some dishes also tasted like pre-made or store bought. 2. Service: the server kept recommending ordering more, which annoyed us a bit. 3. Ambiance: the decor is a mix of weird punk graffiti and random Italian decor. Music choice is very off as well, they played super loud rock music.

Yelp
Everything from food, service, and ambiance was superb. We celebrated my daughter's birthday and our server, Antonio's attention to detail and professionalism made it a perfect evening. We sat in view of the kitchen and watched how each dish was carefully prepared. We ordered the skirt steak special and the porterhouse to share. We added Brussel sprouts and mushrooms. Perfect in every way. We will be back!

Yelp
Delicious food, impeccable service and great atmosphere! Enjoyed a night full of wine, food and music! I haven't seen cacio e pepe on a menu since I was in Italy. We shared the bone marrow focaccia, pasta, steak and the striped sea bass with summer plums was excellent! I highly recommend Vinile for your next night out.
