50 NYC Restaurants Giving Back To The Community

"Vinnie’s Pizzeria in Williamsburg is delivering free pies to hospital staff, as well as people who work at pharmacies and grocery stores. To contribute, you can order through their website (or through an online delivery platform) and make sure to write “donate” in the memo. They’re also open for regular takeout and delivery if you want to get a pie for yourself while you’re at it." - hannah albertine

The Best Vegan Pizza In NYC

"There are a few things you should know about Vinnie’s in Williamsburg: it’s most definitely a very casual spot - as you’ll notice given the Ninja Turtles-adorned bench outside - and isn’t entirely vegan, but there’s a good number of plant-based options to choose from. They’re all made with soy-free Teese cheese (which is made with coconut oil and tapioca starch), but you can also go with Daiya (made from arrowroot and cassava) instead for an extra $3. Creativity is the name of the game here, and we suggest the black bean taco pie (spicy vegan chicken or ground beef, pico de gallo, mozzarella, cheddar, hot sauce, and black beans) for something a little less traditional. Or for something more familiar, we’re partial to the Parma Initiative, made with baked breaded eggplant, marinara sauce, cheddar, and mozzarella." - anna rahmanan

Restaurants Are Serving Up Edible Tide Pod Lookalikes | Eater

"This Brooklyn pizzeria unveiled a novelty item called 'Pied Pods'—stuffed with mozzarella and pepperoni and finished with cheese dyed in alarming shades of blue and orange—to mimic the look of detergent pods as a humorous, edible riff on the viral trend." - Whitney Filloon

Absolutely loved our visit to Vinnie’s Pizzeria! We tried the elote slice and the mozzarella sticks, and both were incredible. The elote slice was packed with flavor—loaded with sweet corn, creamy cheese, and just the right kick of spice. The mozzarella sticks were perfectly crispy on the outside, melty on the inside, and paired with their marinara sauce (which was seriously amazing) made them even better. The vibe inside is super retro and cool—definitely a fun place to hang out. Just a heads up, there are only three tables, so seating is limited, but honestly, the food is so good it’s worth grabbing it to-go if you have to. Can’t wait to come back!

Nice little pizza shop with a few smaller tables inside and very friendly staff. We got their elote pizza which was very good but the special of the day was a cherry pepper bacon jam based burger pie which was incredible. Definitely would return for the “jam packed” pie

Plenty of variety for every palate! It's best to come when it's not too busy, if you pop in on a Fri or Sat night expect a longer wait and alot of people hanging out front, the only negative imo. If youre in the area give them a try!

The elote pizza is an interesting take which I got along with a slice of pepperoni but overall I found the slices to be just average. It really came down to the crust which while crispy just lacked flavor. Ok for a quick bite in the area but for pizza in NYC, you can do better.

Stopped by on a cold evening and I firstly have to mention the atmosphere was just perfect, everyone who we spoke to was so friendly and joyous, really a wonderful crew working there! We got the vodka sauce, eggplant parm and elote slice, it was great! I had never had a slice of pizza like the elote before, very unique! They have tons of vegan and vegetarian options too which makes it great to drop by with anyone!

Great vibes inside. Elote slice had awesome flavor. Cheese and white slice were ok. Wish the cheese slice had less flop.

Got big attitude from the young guy behind the counter here. I asked him in a friendly way if any of the slices were fresh and he said yes, but were made a few hours ago. I then asked if any were recently out of the oven and he said “no that’s not how slice shops work”. I said i’ve been in slice places where they baked throughout the day and he said “I’ve been working in slice shops for 10 years and I know how this works, not you”. So I told him that I wasn’t trying to tell him how to do his job. and he said “Yea - don’t”. Suffice to say, I didn’t buy anything. Another friendly Williamsburg establishment lol. So sad what this neighborhood has become.

Absolutely excellent pizza slice. It’s like a Joe’s pizza but slightly less crunchy crust - therefore perfect. Easily in the top 3 slices in NYC. The topping is sweet and has good tomato flavour. The topping is not the most flavourful but the softness of the overall bite is brilliant.
