Hey there Vinny! Actually met Vinny via Facebook marketplace... he bought a few of my designs. Really super nice guy. Got to chatting and told me about his restaurant. Stopped by on a sat afternoon and had myself one of the best Polish Sausages ever! Best fries too! Can't wait until they open up again. Thanks Vinny and Renee!

Lovely spot to try a variety of Chicago classics. We came here to try italian beef, but ended up ordering a scoop of Italian ice and a Chicago dog as well. The Chicago dog was by far my favorite item- great ratio of all the traditional toppings, great value for the price we paid. It may have been the best Chicago dog I've tried. The italian beef was also tasty, but the flavor was mostly coming from the giardiniera/pickled veggies rather than the meat itself (beware if you aren't a fan of spice! I am someone who loves spice and even I found myself picking out some of the jalapeños). The portion size was also pretty small. I would recommend ordering the Italian ice to enjoy out on their patio- make sure to add gelato (in my opinion, the best part!) Note: I went on a really nice Chicago summer day, and they only had patio seating available. The inside/restrooms seemed blocked off from customers.

The best gelato I've had in a while. I highly recommend the banana fudge flavor. Hence, the service was fast and friendly with a pretty patio setup that brings this place together on a summer day. Always nice to know a reliable dessert spot, DO TRY!

Wish I had taken a picture, the Italian cookie gelato is incredible! Thank you to Vinny and Renee for recognizing two "desperate-for-gelato-fest-goers" and opening back up to serve up amazing conversation along with the best gelato I've had! My favorite way to end a weekend!

My family and I were walking up Division and stumbled upon VinnyD's. I'm glad we did. I'd never heard of it. The guys at the shop are super friendly. We were able to taste many different flavors prior to ordering. The Gelato is EPIC!! I hate to say that my husband got the chocolate milkshake and it was not good. None of us liked the milkshake but we all LOVED the Gelato. The shop being a walkup has a vintage feel and very welcoming. I definitely recommend.

I've only tried the gelato from here but I cannot wait to come back and try their food. The Italian Cookie gelato is PHENOMENAL. I typically can't eat too much ice cream because it's too sweet for me but I thought this gelato was wonderful! We also tried the Jameson one which was also very good! The texture of the Jameson one was a bit grainy, I wonder if it is normally like that or maybe that batch was just grainy. The workers here are so kind, we got to try flavors before deciding which ones we wanted. I would be in trouble if I lived in wicker because I would be here all the time. RUN here now.

We were in the mood for Italian beef and decided to check this place out. Service was great! The hot dog was good, with all the classic toppings and poppyseed bun. The Italian beef was good, but giardinara was a bit spicer than I like. The milkshake was decent. Would love to come back during the summer for Italian ice or gelato. The cookie dough gelato we sampled was so good with biscoff cookie pieces!

So listen here people: this is my absolute favorite place in town! I love the fella who work inside! They have theeee best gelato in town hands down! Among other yummy treats! My favorite: the strawberry chocolate chip! Pistachio and hard 2nd place ! They also have yummy food Chicago Dog, Italian Beef Sandwich, and a variety of Italian Shaved Ice Flavors! Hands down a very awesome hometown experience when you go here! And I love their hours! Open til 9pm The service is the best!

I love their shaved ice and homemade gelato. This is one of the cutest neighborhood spots. I love walking up to the window and ordering my shaved then sitting at an outdoor table to enjoy a sweet treat on division. My entire family loves this place including my mother-in-law. My favorite yes the cherry and piña colada shaved ice. I also love the pistachio gelato.

Talked to Vinny, the man himself, and he welcomed us to Chicago. Service was great, dog was good, italian beef was good. He pushed the curly fries on us and we couldn't resist - got a big portion and they were also good. Will to go again and try an italian ice. Sat at a table on the street because it wasn't crowded, which was great.

We went here on a beautiful summer late evening and the walk up order window was super cool. We ordered some sweet treats including gelato and Italian ice. I also ordered an Italian beef with hot peppers and seasoned curly fries with cheddar cheese on the side. The sweet treats were awesome and we enjoyed the beef & fries as well. They have a homemade giardiniera that was also delicious. The cherry on top was the personal service we received from Renee and Vinny, the owners. They are hard working and offer a delicious product for the community. We really enjoyed chatting with them. I love supporting businesses like this!

This is such a great little place! Love their yummy hot dogs (recommend the Chicago style polish dog), delish crispy curly fries, and refreshing snow cones. So much more for me to try on the menu. Also, the people who work here are super nice, portion sizes are great, and the costs are reasonable. Love supporting this Mom and Pop business!!

I went to Vinny's last June to try their Italian Ice, it was good, and there were quite a few selections. I decided to come back and try their Italian Beef Sandwich. I ordered one with green peppers, and hot giardiniera, and dipped it. The bread and beef were definitely old school with a peppery taste.

I randomly stopped by while out doing life stuff and needed a quick bite. This place should be a legend if it's not already. Suuuuuper nice staff and my Chicago dog and fries were perfect for a lunch sitting out on the sidewalk. Totally reasonable prices too. I'm coming back here.

First time here and this is the best beef I ever had. This place is way better than Portillos . The neighborhood is a place to experience. Loved it!

THE definition of summer... shaved ice flavors for years, "real" italian ice and phenom gelato. i don't generally love the first 2 (i'm an ice cream gal) and that said, gelato is usually too rich for me but the italian cookie gelato hit the spot on a humid night... i think we're the only ones that didn't go for dinner AND treats -- seems like their fast food is a hit as well... generous portions - eater beware! :)

Love me a combo beef, fries and a Resses Vinny Spinny. Wish they stayed open year round.

Their Italian ice is so creamy and rich in flavor! Although it's vegan, there's a richness to the texture. We got blue raspberry and lemon and both flavors were delicious.

I saw this place on Chris dolo tictok and I had to check it out. I brought my family and we enjoyed some Italian ice and shaved ice all the flavors are amazing the pizza puffs are bomb and so are the fries and the owners are very cool people and super nice. We have to support business like this the whole year so they can be around

Went here for the first time on a visit and it was amazing! The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The gelato was some of the best I've ever had and the italian beef with giardiniera was delicious! The atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly with a nice patio area to relax while walking down Division St. Renee, Vince, & Vinny were some of the nicest owners I've ever met! Can't wait to go again

Delicious flavors, great gelato. We only came for desert but it looks like they have dogs and beefs...so, I'll be back for those. Great location with a nice patio in the shade out front.

Gelato and Italian ice are the best! Great family run spot. Highly recommend. We look forward to them opening every Spring!

Awesome staff! They always give my dog a pup cup and everyone is soooo nice there. Good savory food but their ice cream and gelato are awesome. Great shakes that are nicely sized.

Their shaved ice is huge. You definitely get your moneys worth and the flavors are pretty tasty too!

This is hilarious to me me spent $58 dollars on some basic food 4 chicken tenders $9 and the sauce is on the side and the tenders taste like rib meat tenders the best thing was the Italian ice but you can get that from anywhere would not recommend at all

Very underwhelming. Had a Combo (beef and Sausage) with cheddar fries. The hot giardiniera, gravy and bread were very good. The sausage was average and the beef was tasteless. When the sandwich arrived there was literally a single piece of beef on top of the sausage. At first I was disappointed but after tasting it I was grateful there wasn't any more. Next time I'm in the neighborhood I'll choose going hungry rather than stopping back here.

The shaved ice with a vanilla ice cream scoop is DELICIOUS!! I'm here at least twice a week. The owner is extremely nice as well. Highly recommend!

My friend told me to go in here because she knows how I love gelato and I was so glad she did. The place was nice and it was easy to order. Staff was pretty nice too. Gelato was indeed delicious. I had the Italian gelato cookie and I like it. I ended up ordering again until I was satisfied. It was great that they have a patio where I was able to enjoy my gelato. I had a good time and I will definitely be back.

I passed by here numerous times, and always told myself I would stop by to try their italian ice or gelato. When we finally got nice Chicago weather, I walked over with my puppy. I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to walkin since I had my puppy with me, but then I saw their walk up window! We were greeted immediately, and the employees were so excited to offer a treat to my puppy!! After enjoying the excitement of my puppy eating their gelato, the employees (also the owner) offered us tons of samples! I opted for their famous Italian Cookie Gelato - this is a must try! Not only are the employees dog friendly (this makes a huge difference for pet moms!), but the owner is just the nicest guy you could meet! Great customer service, yummy gelato, and I can't wait to come and try their food soon. This is a must try while walking down Division Street!

Truly an amazing establishment from the food it serves to the owner himself. You don't have to look further for a great Chicago dog and flavor packed Italian beef sandwich (the giardinieria i can eat bucketloads of it). Please please support this establishment during and post pandemic. We need more small businesses like this where the care in food and customers is so palpable.

Vinny D's is a neighborhood gem. They may look like an ice cream / gelato / shaved ice place (and they are), but don't overlook their food. One of my absolute favorite chicago style hot dogs in town. Plus, their meatball sub, italian beef, chicken wings...you name it, it's really, really good! The staff is always super friendly, and if you have a dog they'll offer them a pup cup to eat on the patio. Counting down the days until April 1, when they reopen for the year...

The gelato, Italian beef sandwich and hot dog were great. Very reasonable prices. Comparable quality to Al's Beef or Portillos but right in the heart of wicker park which makes it very convenient. I'll probably be frequenting Vinnys for gelato and the occasional hot dog or beef. The only thing lacking a bit were the French fries. They seemed a bit undercooked/soggy, I prefer fries crispy and salty. The owner and staff were very friendly which makes for a pleasant experience.

Amazing local spot with a walk up window. Dog friendly on the patio. Great prices, the Italian ice and milk shakes is one of the best in Chicago. The lemon Italian ice is Incredible!! A neighborhood favorite and gem of wicker Park!! I Need to come back and tryout the food menu that's something I'm doing next time 100% recommend!

This place is amazing!!! Can't believe we waited so long to try it. The Italian ice is amazing but don't be fooled by the sign thinking the food is just an afterthought. The food is incredible and the star of the show is the most amazing spicy giardinara with such depth of flavor. On that beef omg! Perfect Chicago dog and amazing crispy perfect curly fries. This place is definitely going to be a new regular.

This place is a gem of a hot dog place. Or is it a gem of a gelato, Italian ice place? Why not both! Love that they use Vienna beef hot dogs. All the topping were super fresh. Loved the shoestring fries. Hot and crisp. I tried the mango ice and it was tasty, especially since it's 91 degrees.

We've been twice since they opened for the season. Both times had great service. Great shaved ice. Great Italian beef. Great fries. This will be our summer staple!

I am so excited to finally have found shaved ice in Chicago. I got a large shaved ice and it was amazing. Everything I was looking for. 10/10 highly recommend

I just received some of the absolute BEST customer service ever. I had to head north to take care of something and Grace wanted ice cream. I did a google search and landed at this AMAZING place called VinnyD's. We had amazing food. An Amazing time. And amazing service. The owner is soooo personable. And the food is SOOOO good!!!! Please support this establishment. It's hard to find a place with good food AND good service. OMG and the gelato and shaved ice???

What a neighborhood gem! I love supporting this yummy family owned spot and know it will be a summer staple. I really enjoyed a combo of vanilla gelato and cherry Italian ice. Creamy and refreshing, nice texture. As a New Orleans girl I miss my snoballs so much and VinnyD's Italian Ice is the closest thing I've tasted to my favorite treat. Also they gave my dog a pup cup :-)
