I've wanted to go to Vino At The Landing for literally years now... I've gone to their sister location, Red's Wine Bar, (which is at Kent Station) so I'm glad I can say I've checked out both!
We walked in on a Thursday night and it was super busy! Come to find, it's "Tasting Night" and they were featuring Cedar River Cellars, a local winery based in Renton. I thought that was pretty cool, because I'd never heard of that winery before and I've been to the Cedar River area plenty of times.
Our waiter was nice and wasn't pushy on sales. We mentioned we were going to buy a bottle for ourselves and a gift for someone else, and he let us decide on our own accord.
We asked to sample the rosé featured on the chalkboard for our family member's gift, and he brought us a good sized sample. The California (I think that was the name?) was the one we went for for the gift purchase. It was great and the perfect choice for this upcoming heat!
Personally, we went with a bottle of the Cedar River wine, and it was actually really good! Since it was tasting night, the bottles were 10% off which gave us a nice discount that we weren't aware of at first.
Before coming here, I had no idea that they had a full-fledged menu. I was expecting tapas/light bites only, but no, there's more! I'm talking FULL MEALS - Beef Stew, Steak Stroganoff, Meatball Linguini, Seared Ahi Tuna Tacos were just a few that caught my eye. There were so many options that sounded really tasty!
I definitely want to come back for a full dinner date and not just for a quick stop. The dinner options sounded exceptional and I'd love to be there on another tasting night.
* The only reason for the docking of a star is because the menus are wild confusing - some of the wines didn't show glass price, and we asked if the wine menus ever change to show their full inventory and we were told no, and that was it? So I don't know if they just showcase one type of winery a day, or how that part works. Looking to come back to figure that out though. :-)
