First time visiting Vintage ‘61 & my husband & I had such a lovely time! Looks very humble & inconspicuous from the outside, but it was beautifully decorated & charming once you step inside this historic Meridian home. We sat outside in the “backyard” it was perfection with the shade from mature trees & umbrellas. The service was fast & attentive. We ordered the rib eye & scallops, both items were fantastic. We met the chef Carlos outside while he was firing up some pizzas & he shared more about the restaurant & his overall vision. So impressed with his dedication to fresh & seasonal ingredients! Definitely our new date night spot 😍 Can’t wait to come back!

Post college graduation dinner for eight. Cozy but comfortable. Unique menu options and our group tried quite a lot of them. The cauliflower bites and the huge calamari were so good we ordered them twice! The entrée I recall were the Elk that had blueberry sauce that was just an amazing compliment to the elk. The elk was tender and perfectly prepared, the side mashed potatoes were a highlight, I don't know what was in them but they are uniquely delicious! The filet mignon perfect, and the trout was flaky, tender and delicious. The deserts were amazing! The big winner had to be the bread pudding! Anyone who travels a lot will tell to go to the local restraunts with local ingredients, small seasonally changing menus, this is that place. We are so thrilled we have found them and plan to return as often as possible. Best for last, the service is personable and proactive! The owners visited our group at least twice just to make sure we were happy. All of this and they were hopping busy. In a short time we felt like friends. Just out of the park hit. To the crew, especially Bridgette, a sincere thank you! You made our college graduate and our family feel very special and made a great memory!

Google
Awesome experience top to bottom! Owners Michael and Lila greeted us at the host stand and we’re so warm and welcoming right from the start. Atmosphere was cozy and intimate but not awkwardly so. Our server Tennille was amazing- quick, fun, and had great menu/wine suggestions! Wine selection was fantastic (of course). Menu had a lot of options, the apps and entrees we had were 10/10, fresh and high quality ingredients. Overall vibe definitely felt like it’s from folks who love to host- food and wine is their love language! Can’t wait to go back already!

Google
Had the food wine pairing. Much to my surprise they brought me the first 3 courses out at the same time. Needless to say by the time I got to the pork belly it was cold and hard. In a previous review I noted poor portions. It seems in the 3 years since there is not only no improvement , the problems only continue to mount. Since they aren’t improving my opinion is you should just go somewhere else and skip this place.

Google
Wow! Amazingly delicious food! This place is so cozy! The owners are so sweet. Such kind and friendly place. We loved every food item! Totally highly recommend this place! We are coming back to try more of the menu. Every single dish we ordered was 10/10! I loved the clam chowder and the fact it had no bacon (we don’t eat pork) that doughnut filled with pastry cream was absolutely amazing. Thank you for opening this special place in Boise area!

Google
We had an awesome experience at Vintage 61. It was our first time dining in, however our friends invited us as a double date to their favorite date night spot. We loved it! Dinner, dessert, and wine. Everyone had a great time. We will happily return again soon!

Google
Great little Resturant ! We were here all the way from Ocala Florida for a wedding. We were tired from travel . But still wanted a nice meal. I had the chicken Marsala with this delicious Idaho mashed potatoes. My son had the tenderloin which was also excellent. Everyone friendly and helpful .

Google
We had a great evening with delicious food last night at the best kept secret in Meridian! Service was excellent, the meal choices were outstanding. It took us quite a while to decide because it all sounded good. Best calamari appetizer! Pork skirt steak, sea scallops, and ahi tuna were ordered and everything was perfect. I would have given the atmosphere 5 stars except that the back yard needed some clean up, (we ate outside) but the season is young and I'm sure they'll get to it. Inside looked comfortable and inviting. We will come back!

Yelp
We saw an add in the Meridian ad magazine and decided to try Vintage 61. It was an evening that featured patio live music so we asked for patio setting. The menu was wonderful. For appetizers we tried their calamari steaks. They were hands down the best we've ever had and we've lived all over the country. Big, yes! Big! Tender, not over cooked which is usually a problem. Needless to say we were impressed. After that we order it main dish. I had seared ahi tuna and my husband had there lamb chops. My ahi tuna could not have been better. The vegetable was nicely done. They served it with a very crispy black rice which I found intriguing but my husband didn't care for. My husband's lamb was nicely done but we both found it too fatty to give it good marks. Flavor was very good and the beans were very good. Not sure we'd have it again. The wine section was ok but VERY marked up.and now quite as extensive as I had hoped. The entertainment was low key and fun. Not too loud and a lot of patron interaction. All in all it was a very pleasant experience and very worth going back. Staff was excellent and attentive but not overly so. We will definitely go back again

Yelp
We have been to VINTAGE 61 at least four times, trying to support local business, and always hoping for improvement, BUT this last visit is the end. We will never go to Vintage 61 again. Please know the staff is wonderful, but the food is atrocious, absolutely horrible. Our filet mignon, for starters, was overcooked and flavorless and the bison flat steak was close to shoe leather. A pile of mashed potatoes does not make up for that. The chairs and the tables are ridiculously small and uncomfortable, and the price for all that - very expensive. We have no problem paying for GREAT FOOD, but will in the future only patronize the fine restaurants in Boise.

Yelp
Great food and service. Wait staff is top notch! Nice wine selection; will be back for sure!

Yelp
First time dinning at Vintage 61. Absolutely amazing homemade pasta, delicious cocktails, and professional service.

Yelp
Whenever a restaurant is out of a remodeled vintage home, I know it's going to be good and Vintage 61 is no exception. The quaint restaurant has amazing vibes and even better food! The owners stopped by our table and were so friendly. The service was top notch, we never had to ask for refills as they were always checking to make sure we were doing ok. Their house made focaccia is to die for. It has tomatoes and onions as add ins in it and it is next level. I got the scallops in brown butter sauce and it was one of the best scallops dishes I've had in the area. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
It's a very welcoming restaurant! The owners and staff are friendly and accommodating. We loved the wines and thought our Chicken Marsala was great! My husband really liked the lava cake with ice cream. It was a very relaxing and pleasant experience!

Yelp
Really wanted to like this place :( Went tonight for an anniversary dinner. Service was very slow and the room we were in was sooo loud. We ordered a wine flight and our told the waitress our dinner selections. We asked for food after the wine. Wine flight took forever and was finally served, after we asked, right before food was brought out. So the small table had wine flight, app dishes, focaccia, and dinner dishes. We were told the bar was "backed up" but the restaurant was not that busy ... and how backed up can it be to fill 4 small shots of wine??? Food was the redeeming quality, however husband found a rubber band in his. We're guessing from the bunch of broccolini. I ordered a separate glass of wine right before food was served, but it did not come until I was almost done. The last straw was ordering bread pudding to go. I specifically said no ice cream as I can't have dairy and we were going to take it out (for a "to go", not sure why we'd want ice cream). It was brought out from their fridge. We asked for it heated since we were going to go out and eat it. It was heated and then ice cream was put in the container anyway. Needless to say, when I got home I had a bread pudding soup. SUPER disappointed. I was excited to go and it was a special night. Bummed.

Yelp
Phenomenal food, drinks, and atmosphere. My wife and I came in last night for a nice dinner, and our first visit here did not disappoint. I had the bison short ribs--a weekend special, and paired it with their Albarino white wine, which was an absolutely delicious combination. The food was rich, flavorful, and memorable, highly recommend! To finish the meal, I enjoyed a classic cheesecake that hit the spot. Michael, the owner, was attentive from the moment we arrived, and the service overall was outstanding. This place is officially on our list of regular spots for date nights!

Yelp
Fabulous food and service! Our good friends set up the reservation. The large prawn cocktails were magnificent and my husband's steak was cooked perfectly.

Yelp
Another visit to one of our favorite local restaurants for a date night. We love the ambiance of this quaint little house that has been transformed into a marvelous restaurant and wine bar that is complete with a nice outdoor patio space for the warmer seasons. We came to their weekly wine and food pairing. What a delight. The chef perfectly paired the wine and food. We had ordered an appetizer of the house focaccia while enjoying a glass of the happy hour wine selection, but we didn't get it until our food came out. They had forgotten, but quickly made it right when brought to their attention. We loved the wine selection, especially the happy hour Hahn GSM that was selected by the lovely owner Lila. We will definitely be back once again.

Yelp
We met up with another couple for an early dinner and so glad we did the remodel of this building was great! The last time I was in this building was for a lunch at Tammy's Tea house. Even though I really like the tea house I absolutely feel in love with this new place! We met the owner and heard the story of how they bought it and their vision for the new place! So fun!! The service was excellent! We had Bridget for our waitress and she was very attentive and friendly! I would definitely go back. The appetizer is a must have!!

Yelp
This is my second time here. 1. One of the best old fashioned anywhere in the 50 states. 2. Wine selection is bonkers good I had the pork skirt as a recommendation from staff. Holy cow. That was AH-mazing. I am so grateful for the incredible service, quality of food, creativity and art. This restaurant deserves incredible awards. I am inspired. Wife got filet and prawns and it was perfect. Wow. Wow. So damn good. 2 for 2. No pics. Devoured all of it.

Yelp
Good food, nice atmosphere and lovely staff. The pairings were fun. Conversation was easy as it wasn't too loud

Yelp
Couldn't even wait to get home to write this one. Vintage 61 is the real deal people! An incredible meal and an intimate space situated in downtown Meridian. The adorable house turned wine bar and gourmet kitchen is the perfect place for entertaining your out of town guests or taking your favorite people out for dinner. Our group agreed that we wouldn't change a thing. Start with the calamari if you can get it on their seasonal menu! The pork skirt steak, tenderloin, and ahi tuna were all AMAZING. Flavorful but not heavy. But save room for dessert: oatmeal cookie with maple cinnamon ice cream, mixed berry tart, and fancy cream filled donuts! Make a reservation on the weekends and give yourself time to find street parking.

Yelp
Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 This place is so cute! I came in late afternoon during the week so it was not busy. The server recommended the wine and food pairing and I was very excited to give it a try. Initially I was worried it would not be enough food but it was surprisingly a good amount! My favorite of the pairing would be the lamb on pita. I don't know if the wines from the pairing stood out to me in any way... but I'm looking forward to coming back to try other things on the menu!

Brenda M.

Yelp
This restaurant is a must go and return to... Customer service--excellent. From the very beginning of making a reservation to the kind, attentive service upon entering. Michael... and Bridget. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Food was great. Food choices great. Atmosphere great. We could talk to each other without the blaring music that so many restaurants have. A huge plus for our return visit.

Yelp
Very good food and excellent service. The James Bond Martini was outstanding. Many menu choices with a lot of variety.

Yelp
Phenomenal service, food, and drinks! The owners and our waitress were so personable to our evening events. The scallops were phenomenal! 10/10 all around- we will be back.

JS W.

Yelp
Started good but the waitress was so busy she didn't have time to check in with us. Never brought our wine order but didn't charge us either, seems she just plain forgot it. We didn't have an appetizer or dessert so we weren't seated for a long time. Check came, we immediately pulled out our card to pay and waited for the waitress to make her way back when the owner came over and said she has had people waiting for a long time and could we please get up she really needed our table. Our visa was sitting on the bill in front of her. We pointed to it and said we were just waiting to pay. She asked if we would stand at the bar to pay. It was bizarre the way she talked to us, like she was annoyed. There are plenty of other restaurants in town, we won't be back.

Glenn L.

Yelp
Phenomenal. Not only was the entire package an amazing experience, but each component was as well. - Building: Lovely remodeled vintage home - Staff: Friendly and caring, but they perfectly gauge how much/little to chat - Ambiance: Intimate - Beverages: As others have mentioned, best Old Fashioned - Food: Over the top. Perfectly cooked, and served at the perfect temperature. Well seasoned, but not overbearing. Portions were amazingly sufficient. We were satiated without stuffing ourselves. Their Jumbo Prawns were literally the best Shrimp/Prawn cocktail we've ever had. Meaty, not fishy, with a lovely Horseradish Cocktail sauce. We will definitely return. Thank you!
google avatar

Karen C.

Yelp
Good. Not great, but good. Wine menu features many local vineyards, but many of the same varietals. Steak was CC well seasoned, but the med-rare request was a solid medium delivery. The wine flight seems fun, but is not much wine or uniqueness for double the price. Overall- an enjoyable experience, but not enough value to warrant a repeat visit.

Yelp
This place was such a surprise! A family owned business that really cares about what they serve and how they serve it. My meal was amazing!!!!

Yelp
Incredible dining experience at Vintage 61! Ambiance was welcome and allowed for easy conversation-no battle loud music or loud acoustics. The waitstaff was very attentive. And the food was AMAZING. Highly recommend this restaurant. It is a lovely place that I think is right up there with Chandlers.

Gail W.

Yelp
We have been to Vintage 61 multiple times. Each time has been incredible. The food is beyond compare. Service is the best we've had. The staff is very friendly. The owner is the bartender. She is a mixologist. The chef has come out each time to check on our table. His culinary skills are incredible. Everything fresh from local farmers. Prepared pared al dente. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Becki B.

Yelp
We have been here a few times and the food is always good. The clams appetizer and the white beans side are great. The best part of our meal has always been our severe, Kenna, she is wonderful. Positive attitude, great smile and is knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. Definitely a top pick when it comes to a night out.

Yelp
What a gem! Everything was fantastic!!! Can't wait to come back. Treat yo' self!!!!!!

Yelp
This place was awesome! I was in town from Texas and my coworker from South Carolina, a local coworker suggested this stop and it did not disappoint. The owner was very welcoming, the bartender was very knowledgeable about the wines and the locally sourced food was amazing. If you like wine, good cocktails, locally brewed beer and locally raised food this is your place. Next trip I will return.

Yelp
The service was beyond 5 stars. Our server was so helpful and friendly. The owners were there and came around to check on us. Felt so small and quaint. I already booked to take more friends next week. Oh and the food was really good those Gorgonzola mash potatoes are soooooo good!!

Yelp
Tonight was our first time here. I'm sorry we have not been here before. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is top notch. Friendly, efficient and not overbearing. The ambiance is quiet with some background music that is smooth and relaxing. I had the pork and my wife had the bison. Both were cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. We will be back again and again.
google avatar

Yelp
What a lovely wine bar! I'm big on Yelp reviews and am surprised there aren't more on here. This place is basically a cute house that's been converted into a bar, restaurant and lounge. I ended up getting two glasses of a Pinot Noir that absolutely blew my mind. I told Lyla (she's the owner) what I like and she delivered on my first tasting. I love when that happens. I ended up ordering their cheese board and fennel salad and Holy smokes, that salad was worthy of writin' home about. It had so much flavor and so many wonderful ingredients!!! If I lived locally, I would come here quite frequently. Please support local businesses and check them out!

Yelp
We were super excited to try out this place as it is new and serves wine. The place is beautiful and the staff were great. We did a wine flight and I got a Moscato and they were all excellent. The Moscato was delicious but I was a little surprised that it was served in a port glass instead of a wine glass so it seemed a little expensive for the serving size. My husband got the chicken breast and I got the special of the night, the Mahi Mahi. The first gentleman that sat us, told us the special was swordfish with rice and asparagus, which I was excited about but it wasn't swordfish it was Mahi Mahi but I decided that's fine. We also ordered the carnivore board. The carnivore board was good and I was surprised on how tasty the sheep cheese was. When we first got the board with the bread, well I say bread but it was only crust. Every single slice had a gaping whole in it and was only crust. After bringing this to our waitress's attention she brought us new bread. My husband said the chicken itself was delicious but the cream sauce wasn't something to write home about. I mean it wasn't bad but it could have had more flavor. The chicken was kind of small but for the price it was fine. The Mahi Mahi wasn't bad, a little dry but not bad. The rice wasn't cooked all the way and was a bit crunchy and the asparagus was string beans. Then we ordered the lava cake which was delicious and the cake was perfectly moist. We will more than likely be back, especially for the wine and just how comfortable the place feels.

Yelp
Disappointed. We had reservations for 7:30 and didn't eat until 8:30. The food was luke warm, bland, and small in servings. I had the tenderloin with mash and steamed broccoli. The mash was very good and the broccoli was cooked perfectly. However the tenderloin was not seasoned, cooked medium well (I ordered medium rare) and had very little taste. My wife had the scallops and got 5 only scallops with a small portion of grilled polenta (I think). After our small portions and the amount of time it took to get our food, I understand why the waitress pushed soup or salad beforehand. The couple we were with were equally unimpressed and complained that the food was barely warm. We were all so hungry after an hour that we didn't send the food back. Two meals, a cheap bottle of wine and one tap beer was $150 and we left hungry. Not impressed, won't be back.
google avatar

Julie N.

Yelp
The entire diner was amazing. Not only was the food extraordinary, the drinks and wine selections were great. The best part of our experience was the customer service. From both owners helping us, the chef is checking on us, and all the wait staff doting on us, we felt completely pampered. If you needed anything they were there. The overall environment was one of locals and family, yet anyone felt welcomed. A must try!!!!
google avatar

Yaniv G.

Yelp
This place overachieved in every way! The owners were both so nice and the chef came out to tell us about our meals. The food, appetizers, drinks, vibe, and service were all incredible. We came here to celebrate a college graduation and were so happy we did. Couldn't recommend it more!

Yelp
A great Meridian restaurant. It was definitely our best meal in town. The ambience is homey and classy without being pretentious. It is in a house and the grounds and patio were lovely. We sat inside in the front room that has a small bar with full liquor and excellent wines. We shared a red wine flight with bruschetta for our starter. The bruschetta was so good! Got to try 4 wines so that helped know what glass to order with dinner. I had the filet with Gorgonzola mashed potatoes and broccolini, the steak was cooked perfect and the potatoes were "Idaho" delicious, the broccolini was just a little tough, not unusual with that vegetable though. Hubby had the Halibut special and said it was very tasty, the roasted potatoes were excellent, however the asparagus was just a tad over cooked. The owner Lila, who was tending bar, is so friendly and graciously made sure we had everything we needed. Prices were very reasonable for the portions and the menu has a bit of everything. This place is a gem, definitely try it!

Christina

Yelp
The Chicken Marsala was to die for. Our service spot on and a friendly atmosphere. Do check out the wine list!!

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but I don't so there. Service was fantastic, the owners are super pleasant to talk with and the atmosphere is enjoyable. The wine selection, if you can call it that, is dismal. The food was prepared well and had excellent seasoning, but the value for the money just doesn't exist here. It's hard to live up to the good times that were had back in the original owners hands...

Ursula N.

Yelp
Excellent and friendly service along with a relaxed atmosphere. The food is very good but a bit overpriced.

Yelp
Vintage 61 in Meridian Idaho was absolutely Fantastic , the food , the owner , the wine was all Faboulous ! We ate outside on the patio it was lovely . The service also was top notch. We ate at that restaurant 3 times in one week and loved everything especially the Wednesday Wine Pairing dinner . Great place to go in Meridian and thanks to the Owner Lila she really knows how to make people feel special . A Great Find .

Fatima A.

Yelp
I wonder if I went in on an off night. The aperol spritz I ordered was great. The pear crostini appetizer was pretty good. My $44 filet mignon was cooked medium well, although I requested medium. It was also not seasoned whatsoever. I'm fairly sensitive to salt and it tasted like there was barely, if any, salt or pepper on the steak. The prawns it came with were overcooked to the point they were rubbery. The mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce it was served with were good. The baked apple cinnamon crostata dessert was great. The singer for live music had a beautiful voice and that was probably the best part of the evening! It just didn't seem worth the hefty bill so I'm not sure I'll be giving it a second visit.

Yelp
We have been there several times for small plates and wine. We decided we wanted a special dinner for our anniversary and decided to make reservations. My husband stated in reservation we were celebrating our anniversary and wanted a special table for 2. When we arrived we were greeted by Lila the owner. She asked our name and if we had a reservation. She then stated she didn't have her glasses on so couldn't read the book and placed us in the bar area right by front lobby in the smallest 2 top table there. Took over 15 minutes to get the bottle of wine we ordered. When our meals arrived (I ordered halibut on special) which I always order anytime we are out when available as it is my favorite fish, the halibut was extremely overcooked, very dry. I had my husband taste and he agreed. When asked by our server how our meals were my husband commented on my overcooked fish. Our server immediately picked up my plate without asking me and took it back to the kitchen. We then waited another10 minutes before Lila came to our table. She stated she looked at my fish and "it was cooked perfectly". She then stated there was only 1 left and if I wanted it she would just have the chef to "cook it rare" since I didn't like it cooked. My husband and i were both appalled by her attitude. It then took another 15 minutes to receive my dinner, meanwhile my husband ate his dinner alone while I was waiting on mine. $150 tab later we never even received an apology. We have traveled extensively and have been to many dining establishments. Never should an waiter/waitress let alone an owner argue with you about your meal. I never even asked for it to be returned to the kitchen in the first place. We were extremely disappointed in the entire experience, especially on our anniversary.

Yelp
My new favorite date night spot. The inside decor of this place is great, staff was very helpful, owners are super sweet, and the food and wine was uh-mazing. The risotto had so many great layers of flavor and was very well balanced and not too heavy. I split the asparagus with my husband and it was cooked and seasoned perfectly. I didn't take many photos because I was too busy enjoying it all. Can't wait to go back again soon.

Yelp
Read many reviews on this joint. This is an almost good restaurant. Some of the food is tasty based on our 2 visits but food is always look warm. Father was a real chef in London and Beverly Hills so maybe I am used to the best food but comparisons I think are fair. In my food choices, I got some kind of fish. Not a huge piece, luke warm of course, and wine was expensive. Bread was sliced but sub par. I would expect a good sour dough or real French loaf. The salad was ordinary. My daughter enjoys the converted house which is cool and I love the music. Service was average. My daughter gets the pasta which she really loves. Sorry, I tasted it and let's say it is good nothing to rave over. I cannot call this a great restaurant. If they can do portions that don't leave you starving, serve hot I might recommend. Yeah, I will go back but my daughter's choice, not mine if I want to blow $200 on dinner and 2 glasses of wine each. Decor and outside patio in summer very sweet.
