Beautiful space, beautiful food, excellent service - you may not expect fine dining in Escondido, much less an auto dealership, but this is a destination, dining experience.
My sister brought me here for my last day of my visit, and she kept raving about the popovers. She was right, they were an excellent bread course - crispy exterior with an airy, buttery interior.
She also insisted we get the pepita and sesame crusted Brie - I liked it better with the popover rather than the garlic crostini.
We both selected fish courses: she got the Macadamia & Coconut Crusted Sea Bass, and I chose the Everything Crusted Ahi Tuna. There was so much going on the plates, but all the elements balanced each other out perfectly. Portions were huge, so we only ate half in order to be able to try the Ube Cheesecake.
The cheesecake was also huge and unlike any other Ube Cheesecake I’ve tried! Those little mounds of ube halaya on top are genius, I’ll be doing the same when I make them at home.
We chose to sit inside, and I requested a table next to the window, which overlooks a beautiful fountain below. In the warmer months, I’d choose to sit outdoors, that space looked so cozy and inviting.
Our server was awesome, he let us know that if we signed up for their loyalty program, we would get 10% off our first bill. The restaurant is part of a larger restaurant group with locations around the country, including Hawaii.
