Great dinner place to go as a couple or a group! We went here for New Year’s Eve. They made it festive with decorations and a preset menu to help things more quickly and smoothly with more people coming in. I had the short rib, and it was delicious!! Our server was friendly, helpful with my questions about gluten free options, and made our dinner a good experience. The views were beautiful. They had live music upstairs. We’d love to come back again!

I am no foodie, but overall, we had a good time and I have no regrets. I was not particularly hungry that night so my judgment of the food was not particularly clear or strong. The service was good and the views were pretty amazing!

Let me begin by saying, that overall, this is an excellent establishment to enjoy some food and that also has a great atmosphere here in Escondido. However, all of that being said, if you are sitting outside, please keep in mind that the music will be substantially louder than if you are dining inside. Additionally, I would say the cuts of meats did not look similar to that of a higher quality establishments. Get the chicken or fish not the meat. Nonetheless, all of the appetizers and drinks are excellent. Lastly, there’s plenty of parking and I think you’ll be glad you came :)

Google
Excellent service the waiter was so attentive and the food came out soo fast. The braised short ribs were so tender. Calamari was crispy with the sweet and sour sauce was delicious.

Google
Maybe I’m lame but I don’t get the draw of having an upscale eating establishment on top of a car dealership with a view of dick’s sporting goods . The drinks are fun, popovers are amazing and the menu is standard . It’s fun to try . Everything was well executed in terms of plating and presentation.

This was my husband’s and my first time going to Vintana. From the moment we told our Uber driver where we were headed, he immediately sang high praises of the restaurant, so our expectations were high. Vintana exceeded them. We went for Valentine’s Day, which featured a pre selected menu with a selection of signature dishes. The dinner included an appetizer, a main entrée, and dessert. I had the grilled sea bass, and it was absolutely amazing. We will definitely return in the future!

Google
I have eaten here twice. I selected outside dining on a warm late afternoon. The food was excellent, the staff were attentive and friendly. Be sure to order the appetizer course or you will miss half of the enjoyment. The cocktails were top notch as well. It has become my birthday spot. Support this fine establishment with your patronage.

Food, service, and atmosphere at Vintana is always amazing. We had Crispy Ale Battered Fush and Chips, Local Baja Shrimp Carbonara, and Mud Pie. All are delicious. Our server is very nice and friendly.

Yelp
Rating is based on wine and ambiance, we didn't order any food. My fiancé and I came here close to closing as we were in SD for the weekend and looking for a sexy spot for a glass of grapes as a nightcap. We enjoyed our wine out on the rooftop, next to the fire pit. Staff was attentive, wine selection was superb, and the view was chic. Really enjoyed this spot and would return when in the area.

Yelp
Met some girlfriends here for a Saturday night dinner. Beautiful interior and patio but that is where it ended for positives. I was expecting more since their website states "modern elegance" The decor looked elegant, however the food was anything but elegant. Had some elegant prices though! First I ordered the Caesar salad. Everything was wrong with this salad. It's literally the head of lettuce not cut with a tiny bit of watery dressing and 2-3 croutons. Barely fits on the plate making it very difficult to cut...not to mention you need a chainsaw to cut those leaves and all you get is a butter knife. I had to wait 10 minutes for the server to come back and bring me a knife that would cut through the lettuce. The star of any Caesar salad should be your dressing, and in this case it was like water and enough for maybe 3-4 bites, which worked out because after waiting forever to get a serrated knife and having to figure out how to cut the lettuce on that ridiculously small plate, I was over it. I think I would have rather had a side of a mass produced Caesar dressing from a grocery store because it would have tasted better. So I'm still starving after the salad and my main course arrives. I ordered the Seaside. It was better than the salad but still pretty meh. For $40 I would have expected something a little more palatable. Sauce was super bland. Only 2 mussels in the dish and one wasn't even open so that tells me they either don't check the food before sending out, don't care what they send out, or the dish is mass produced like a cafeteria would make and loaded onto a dish as customers order. The quality (or lack of) is definitely not worth the price.

Yelp
We came here on a Tuesday night with no reservation at 7:30pm. We checked on OpenTable at 5 and they had a few reservations, we should have booked one. We walked in and they told us they couldn't fit us in. We opted to sit at the bar since it was getting late. Jose and team were great at the bar. Very personable and attentive with great conversation! Pepita & Sesame crusted Brie- while this is normally out of this world, this time was mediocre at best. Typically the cheese is melted and oozing, this time it was hardened and separated from its crust. The flavors were still decent but it did not live up to its potential. Wedge salad- This warranted 4 stars. Fresh lettuce, nice balance of bacon and blue cheese. Macadamia & coconut crusted sea bass. Major disappointment. We were questioning if it was actually sea bass or if it was extremely overcooked. Typically Sea Bass is light, flaky, buttery. This was thin, tough, dry, fishy. We thought we would order dessert to leave on a high note. Warm Butter Cake. Terrible. Brown sugar glaze was the saltiest topping. I asked if it was brown sugar glaze and he told us it was salted caramel? I wouldn't have ordered anything salty. Mascarpone creme was not blended and was gritty with sugar. The crust was decent but the cake was over the top sugary. Not good at all. Another Cohen fail, they are more interested in mass production over quality.

Yelp
I've been here twice for happy hour and the food was excellent on both occasions. They have a very nice happy hour menu that offers great selections for $9 during 3-5pm daily. They have vodka drinks for $9 as well (any drink with vodka). If you prefer to bring your own wine, there is a $20 corkage fee. I've tried the black mussels, kung pao calamari, shishido peppers with pork belly, ceviche, baked Brie, and veggie hummus flatbread. I loved all of the dishes, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be the mussels! I never expected that such a beautiful restaurant would be on top of a Lexus car dealership! The indoor dining area is pretty, and the outdoor patio is even prettier! When you enter the driveway to the Lexis dealership, pull up the driveway and drive to the end. There's a sign indicating turn right for the restaurant. You can pull into the parking garage or park on the upper level, where the restaurant is located. There are plenty of parking. Great good, great value, great servers, abundant parking, and beautiful restaurant!

Yelp
Weird place to drive to dine but nice dining room, bar, patio, private room,... Service is personal, plenty of smile and remind you to take it in sloooooowly. Food is ok with very special rustic bread. Vintana wedge is huge and presentative. Steak is mediocre Seabass is flavorful. All the included green is very special. Dessert cake is nice and yummy. Price is competitive with the venue class. Recommended to give it a try. They have Tuesday date night special and happy hour 3-5 pm T-S $9 appetizers. Go enjoy!

Mary W.

Yelp
Went for lunch for our anniversary and had a great meal. We sat outside and we were seated next to a fire pit, which worked perfectly because it wasn't too warm out. We ordered the Kung pow calamari and Chef Deb's Pepita Crusted Brie as starters, and they were absolutely delicious.! We also ended up ordering a side of lobster mac & cheese, which was delicious as well. We also had a couple of drinks the mai-stro and the black rose that we really enjoyed. For our entrée I had the Blackened Shrimp Lettuce Wraps and my husband had the10oz Top Sirloin. Our entrées were good nothing really wrong with them, but we wouldn't order them again. I would've been satisfied with the starters and the lobster mac & cheese. lol We highly recommend the restaurant. We had great service and ambience.

Yelp
Celebrated my surprise bday here just recently. Been to the place multiple times . Ambiance: amazing view , elegance decor chandeliers all over the room. Our server Johnny was very nice , attentive , helpful. We LOVE that special bread . Food we ordered : C-Level's Ahi Stack, Macadamia & Coconut Crusted Sea Bass , Lobster Bisque, Alaskan King Salmon, Slow Braised Short Rib , were all delicious. There's also outside patio seating areas with fire place (was very cold when we went there ). staff were all nice, even gave us a chance and time to take pics outside. Look for Johnny when you visit . Parking: plenty Just fyi - The restaurant is above the Lexus dealership.

Yelp
I always visit Vintana in Escondido for special anniversaries. The atmosphere is great, the food is delicious, and the service is excellent. The bread served before the meal is particularly tasty. My favorite dishes are Chef Deborah's Pepita & Sesame Crusted Brie, Kung Pao Calamari, and Lobster Mac & Cheese. The other menu items are just as good as you'd expect from a place of this caliber. If you go on a Tuesday and order from the Tuesday date night menu, you can enjoy a reasonably priced meal with wine as a couple. However, keep in mind that there is a 5% service fee in addition to tax and tip, so the bill might be higher than you expect.

Yelp
Very good place for steak & seafood. Don't be thrown off the location - the restaurant is located above a Lexus car dealership, and it is a gorgeous building. Large parking lot in the rear of the building and all around the building. Decadent interior in the restaurant with both Indoor and outdoor dining patio which is semi-covered with heating lamps. Live music on Saturday nights. We had the filet mignon which was perfectly cooked medium with a little touch of rare. We substituted the mashed potatoes for brussel sprouts. The Alaskan wild salmon was also very good and served with a small amount of salad. We shared a chocolate cake with a touch of cream & strawberry on top. Wide selection of cocktails and wines. Perfect place for a special occasion.

Yelp
Interesting location...on top of the Lexus dealer! You drive in like you are going to the dealership but go to the right and there's a ramp that drives you up to the top lot. There's actually a couple of other businesses up there but I forgot to see what they were. I did see a hair salon sign. What a great way to get us on to the Lexus lot...it did make us look at the cars. What a view once you get seated. Pretty much wherever you get seated you can see the view. You are looking at the 15 freeway but there's still a "view". Darn...this is what happens when I forget to finish my review right away. Our waiter was amazing! He knew his stuff. He had a bunch of recommendations, told us the specials and talked to us about other non-restaurant convo. Ugh, I forgot his name! We were here for a lunch around 12:30....dang they were busy. But we were seated right away. Food was outstanding but I gotta take off one star for the time it took for us to receive it. He kept apologizing but it was a long wait. We can tell others were there on their lunch break so they immediately had to get packed to go. We were open on time but waiting that long could make anyone get frustrated. Place like this.... is where you need to bring out something extra complimentary. Just a soda or soup...anything! It's only to get the customers mind off of waiting. Anyways, price was a little pricey but not shocking. Chef did an excellent job with presentation of the food. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
12/25/2023 What a fantastic Christmas dinner at Vintana in Escondido. We arrived early for our reservation, so we had a few drinks at the bar. The ambiance is so nice with fire pits and heaters outdoors and lovely tables and booths inside with gorgeous city views. We were seated right on time in a lovely and cozy booth, and our server extraordinaire, Ricky G, provided stellar service. All of the staff were kind and professional. My wife and I started with the potato cream soup, which was simply amazing. For our entrees, my wife selected the salmon, and I selected the filet mignon dish. Both entrees were presented perfectly and tasted heavenly. After a few more drinks we ordered dessert which was so good with a nice hot coffee. Highly recommended.

Yelp
It is one of the strangest locations, ever, but the restaurant itself is quite nice. Pro-tip, enter the restaurant on the third floor by driving around to the back of the Lexus Dealership. Overall, great food. Loved most everything we had with the exception of the Lobster Bisque, which was a letdown that was cream-heavy and lobster-light (both flavor and ZERO meat). Don't miss the opening bread dish, which is Yorkshire Pudding with a ridiculously tasty butter. Both the Calamari and the Mussels are delicious, but, beware, they are super spicy. Great service and nice drinks. Would definitely return and recommend it to all.

Stephanie T.

Yelp
I had a poor experience when I was there and the restaurant provided me with a gift card due to this. Given, the gift card was only for about 1/2 the total cost, but it was nice of them. Unfortunately, this was during Covid and I was unable to go back due to my employment. I have had a lot of life challenges since this time as well. Apparently, their gift cards have a one year expiration date, which I was not aware of. I just called them to explain the situation and ask if they would still honor this gift card if I used it in the near future, which they said they wouldn't. So needless to say, this made that previous poor experience even more poor with this company and I would not recommend them nor go back.

Karen W.

Yelp
Highly recommend the happy hour here! Beautiful restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating located on top of the Lexus center. We opted to sit outside because the weather was great. Happy hour includes deals like $9 vodka based drinks and $9 select appetizers. We tried the shishito peppers, ceviche, vegetable flatbread, and 1/2 lb burger (not $9) . Every dish had its own flavor and character. I don't know if I would pay full price for the food but I would definitely come back for happy hour!

Yelp
My new employer chose Vintana to host onboarding. What a brilliant choice! Excellent IT and meeting facilities. Very efficient, friendly, and helpful staff. Even the classic picnic lunch is delicious at Vintana with 4 types of sandwiches, two salads, and cookies. Great way to make a positive start with the new team!

Jesse R.

Yelp
Hello all, the food here is pretty great. Prices have went up a bit over the last year but it's still worth the visit. Vintana is Spanish for window I believe and you get plenty of views through the entire restaurant. Beautiful scenery built above the Lexus dealership. Indoor and outdoor seating have pros and cons so plenty of choices. Call ahead to reserve your desired spot. Well planned sunset dinners are key here so make sure to reserve the perfect time. They start you off with yummy popovers unlike the traditional bread and butter. Fresh from the over for the best treat. Steaks are well made and beautifully cooked. Make sure to try the lobster bisque at least once. Also the lobster macaroni is huge and delicious! Quick tip: care reserving the rose pedals and champagne for a special occasion. The $100 fee gets you a random outdoor table with rose petals spread over the table and a $30 bottle of champagne. Not sure if it is worth the additional cost. Food is of course extra.

Edith S.

Yelp
When you are looking at the Lexus dealership building, drive all the way to the right side until you see a garage like opening in the back. Go in and it takes you up to the rooftop parking. There's plenty of parking but it's best to plan ahead. When you're on top, there will be a door with the Vintana sign to go through. Hope this helps those that have the anxiety of not knowing where to go or where to park. I feel ya!! You can also enter from the first floor but I honestly haven't gone that way so I don't know the answer to that one. I'll update this if ever I go that way. I've been here a few times and always left feeling satisfied. For this particular review, our server was very friendly and accommodating. He may have forgotten to give the check the few times that I've asked, but it's all good. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't as crowded as I expected. Just perfect for me. The rooftop view is great if you're feeling romantic. The Pricky without the Pear drink was so good, I had to get another one. The dehydrated pineapple just adds to its perfection. The sesame crusted brie is one of my all time favorite appetizers. I would get this again. The one thing that I would change is the Upside Down Pineapple Cake. The flavor was fine. It was just dry and felt like it was "old." Maybe that's the way it is, I just prefer moist and dense cakes. I'm all about dessert and that just made my heart sink a little. But overall, this place is amazing and I would come back again.

Dawny M.

Yelp
Everything here is 5*. The service was warm and friendly. The hostess saw me looking, a little lost, she came to me to check me in. The seating is nice outside with cover or outside with view. Fire pits to keep warm on a chilly night. The food was great. Dessert could use some creativity.

Christina S.

Yelp
Great food, unusual spot above a Lexus dealer but a beautiful ambience inside. It was quite a limited menu on a Sunday afternoon but it was good as we ordered 3 appetizers and dessert. They were all good!

Ally N.

Yelp
Went here with my husband for a date night. This restaurant seems to be big for celebrations. I noticed a lot of tables had flower petal hearts on them and many were celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions. The food was good and came out quick. The portions were huge. We split an entree so we could try more sides and appetizers, but were still too stuffed to finish. If you're in the Escondido area then this is a great restaurant to celebrate special occasions or to have a nice meal.

Yelp
We came here for an early Mother's Day dinner yesterday evening (11May2024). Service was not the best. Our food came out cold. The only thing piping hot was the kids cheeseburger. Our sides came out after we finished eating and since everyone was full we packed it up, but what the heck?? Why even bother with sides if they are going to come after the meal has been finished? THEN!!! There was a 5% service charge!!!! When I asked what it was for our server said oh, it's a charge that goes towards the fires that occurred in Hawaii because we had restaurants there that were impacted........................then he states we can remove it at your request. No, you should actually only be charging for donations at the patrons request. Not the restaurants. Okay???? How is that our problem? Why would you just slap this charge on our bill that is not mutually beneficial? Are you going to fly me out for a meal since I contributed? What then? If it is purely for donations, you should disclose that. Not just put a $50 charge on our $500 bill. I don't think I will ever return. Very disappointed and ashamed for bringing my family of 8 here to celebrate Mother's Day. Not to mention 4 of them traveled 2 hours from Orange County for cold food.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
The restaurant itself is very nice, the décor is very nice and the atmosphere is lovely. The staff was amazing, very friendly, and on top of our needs from drinks, to bread and insuring our food came out in the proper order and looked good. The food however was rather disappointing. Popovers were brought at first with some Jalapeno butter, that was ok, relatively flavorless. We started with Potato soup (My wife) and Wedge Salad, and both of those were good. For dinner my wife and I both got steaks, I got the 12 oz Angus and it was not very tender and rather fatty cut, and for the price, I was pretty disappointed. My wife ordered the filet mignon and it was definitely not a top cut of Filet Mignon, which is rather disappointing for the cost. Overall I think my breakdown would be Service = 5 stars Ambiance = 4 stars Food= 3 Stars Drinks = 4 Stars Value = 3.5 Stars I don't think I would dine again at Vintana at the cost that it set me back

Felina V.

Yelp
You can always count on Vintana for an upscale experience, with excellent food and drink! The ambiance is top-notch, and they always provide excellent service.

Cyndi L.

Yelp
This place is wonderful! So random it's inside a Lexus dealership - it's great! Food was delicious and great ambiance.

Rose R.

Yelp
Everything is Excellent! Good for Date Night.. especially Tuesday Deal! The Best Bread & Butter in Escondido!

Kathi M.

Yelp
We went to the Vintana Wine & Dine in Escondido tonight for the first time to celebrate our 47th year anniversary, The ambiance was nice, our server Jason was awesome but the food was the worst I have ever had. We both ordered a filet and lobster. The Filet was done to our liking, but was tuff and was smothered in a sauce that ruined the flavor. My lobster was mushy, my husbands was ok. The bill was $187.58 (they charged a 5% surcharge on the food) We gave Jason a nice tip since it was not his fault the food was so bad. We were never ask "How was your food", just thanks for coming, We will NEVER go back and I hope other people reading this will heed our warning that the food was definitely NOT WORTH the MONEY, or any money for that matter. The only thing that was good was the mashed potatoes, thus the 2 star rating. Kathi and Harvey Morris

Yelp
*** This review of for the 'Wine & Dine' event only. We went for an event that was originally supposed to a 'wine & dine' event under the stars with wine tasting from GRGICH HILLS ESTATE and the movie "Bottle Shock". Unfortunately the event was moved inside at the last minute due to rain. So, this review gives a bit of a break for this change in venue assuming parts of the experience would have been better in the original location. To set the stage tickets were $55/pp which granted is way below what you'd pay for food in the restaurant. However, it's still the 'Vintana' brand. There was a "Mediterranean Buffet" that was pedestrian at best. The salad looked good with a large bed of greens and a nice medley of dressed vegetables in the center. My mistake was taking both greens and what were left of vegetables after they had been picked over (basically depleted) by previous patrons. The resulting salad on my plate was undressed and I'm not a fan of dry greens. The roasted chicken was very dry. Salami and cheese was good, the soup was fair to good but overall it was a not worthy of the Vintana or Lexus name and brand. Wine tasting closed down before you could get through the 4 offerings and after that you were left paying $20+/glass. There was a hot cocoa and sweets bar at an additional cost. Servers came around and cleared the tables (mind you were going to watch a full length movie in our seats (as uncomfortable as they were) but they seemed to only clear the pars of the table they could easily reach leaving the other half (us and others) to work around dirty plates for an entire (1:50) movie. Not even an offer to clear them just took what they could reach and left never to be seen again. Granted they had a last minute change in venue so this is partly where they get the 'benefit of the doubt'. It was a good size room with ~2 rows of tables with ~10 people each. A single somewhat large screen in the front of the room at eye level while seated. I assume they assigned seating alphabetically as I KNOW we made reservations as soon as they were released and we were as far from the screen as you could get. It seemed there were plenty of smaller screens around the room so why they weren't used is beyond me. For us to see the movie we had to find a view between the constantly moving people from 4-5 tables (40-50 people) in front of us. We saw very little of the movie as a result. Now, we were just at the winery a few months ago, and we've seen the movie a few times; however, this experience was enough to confirm I will never pay to attend another 'wine and dine' event at Vistana. Poor food, poor service, poor execution. Our experience with the restaurant proper has been nothing like this. This review of for the 'Wine & Dine' event only.

Lori L.

Yelp
I had some doubts about a place on top of a car dealership. How nice could it be? Well it was very nice. Inside or outside seating is a win. Outdoor setting with the lights and fire and view is lovely. Service is impeccable. Our server was very attentive. We arrived a little bit before our reservation time which gave us access to happy hour prices for drinks and apps. Happy hour is a great saving. The mixed drinks are so creative and yummy. We ordered surf and turf. That steak was cooked PERFECTLY. The mashed potatoes were so good. And the thing that sets this place really apart were the bread which was a popover!!! They are as big as my head but much more delicious. Lol. We had the key lime dessert which was super yummy and the portion size was REALLY big. Def perfect for sharing- and I hate sharing desserts! Was a very special night

Roy R.

Yelp
All of the above. This is a first class place for any occasion. Food and are great. You will not be disappointed

Domenique M.

Yelp
My first dining experience at Vintana was amazing. Our server Daniel was a great compliment to the amazing food and wine. Upon our arrival we were a little taken aback not realizing the restaurant was on top of the Lexus dealership. As we entered the establishment, the ambiance was inviting and gave the upscale lounge feeling in the bar area. Once we were shown to our table, the panoramic view of the hillsides was amazing. Daniels' service was top notch. Daniel was very attentive and was able to answer all of our questions regarding the menu and wine list. He was upbeat and had a great attitude making the experience even more enjoyable. On our next visit we will definitely request to be seated in Daniel's section again.

Yelp
I have been here in the past for dinner and this time I decided to try lunch, this is an expensive place so expectations are high. It is located on top of a Lexus dealership and there is plenty of parking. In this expensive place you would expect a higher than average service but our waters were never refilled and the server didn't even care to ask at least once. We ordered some extra salad dressing and the server spilled it over the table, I understand this can happen and my complain is that in a good restaurant they would have replaced the table cloth instead they only tried to clean it up so a big mess was left. They charge an extra 5% fee to "support increasing cost and minimum wage", if they have increasing cost they should not add surcharges but increase their prices accordingly. The food was good but I was expecting more considering the high prices, we ordered: - Spicy Chicken Snadwich.- it was good like the one you can get at any other place. - Asian Chicken Salad.- it was ok but for the price I was expecting chicken breast but it wasn't and the chicken flavor was not very good. In summary the food is good, prices too high, mediocre service and the main reason to come here is because the place is very nice with a parking lot view.

Tracee B.

Yelp
Nice interior on the very top of a Lexus dealership. It overlooks the front parking lot and a pretty fountain. We came for lunch on a Sunday and the service was friendly but the food was okay. The lobster mac & cheese was done well and the shrimp lettuce wraps had a decent flavor to them, but overall the food didn't really wow any of us. It lacked. The rooftop seating area was empty and closed off, probably due to the season. It was cold out but I could imagine when the rooftop is in full swing with their firepits that it does create a nice ambience.

V.T. D.

Yelp
My wife and I went here for our 11th wedding anniversary. We had really good luck with our anniversary dinner outings in the past. Although I gave this 3 stars, I would give it 3.75 stars if that was a choice. The ambiance and service were top notch. Everyone was happy and seemed to enjoy their job, which is a good sign when eating at a nice restaurant. The food however, could use a little more work We started off with oysters and calamari. Both were amazing and I wish I could have had more. If we would have stopped there, I would have given it 5 stars. However, I ordered a New York steak and it was by far the worst steak I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Ordered it medium rare, but it came out dry and very very well done. I was only able to eat a quarter of the steak. Way too chewy and not worth wasting my time on. I would definitely stay away from their steaks. After the entree, we ordered the mud pie. It was basically a hunk of ice that had espresso flavor mixed in. Would avoid this as well. I would not discourage someone from eating here, but I would definitely never recommend this place to anyone, even my worst enemy. My mother once told me, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." I'm ashamed, because I definitely let my mother down. The food was definitely not what I expected. For the price, everything should be at least good if not great.

Yelp
It was our first time here to this particular restaurant and was supposed to be a much needed date night. Very much familiar with the Cohen Group that own this line of restaurants. Stephen was our server tonight. He was delayed taking our drink order and it took 20 mins to get the requested butter for the bread and a reminder. A runner brought us an Ahi Stack, which was incorrectly ordered for us. Found out from our server he ordered the wrong item...another 30 mins later we get the Calamari and it was salty. At this point we are starving, the restaurant was beautiful with elegant artwork, architecture, and chandeliers dripping with crystals. Too bad the service and food was not up to par! Once we complained to the manager, the server was MIA.

Yelp
Unfortunately this was a horrible experience! Went to celebrate a birthday there was hardly any recognition to it. The service was awful!! The food was worse! We were barely spoken to by our waitress in fact sat for 30 minutes with our food sitting in front of us ready for the bill. The one thing on the menu I recommend would be the mussels other than that everything was flavorless! Wouldn't come back or recommend.

Yelp
So, I met my friend for Happy Hour since it is in the middle for both of us. We got the market salad and Brie to start along with some drinks, we assumed that we would get more food but it ended up that the portions were a good size. So the waiter asks us if we want anything else and I say yes I'd love a latte if they have them, he says yes and then leaves. Then he comes back and asked if we want anything else again, assuming he's talking to my friend since I already order a coffee that was on the way we say sure we'd like to see the dessert menu, he says great and then he comes back with the check. At this point we were dying laughing. The latte wasn't on the bill so I didn't even mention it we just paid and went to better buzz across the freeway. This may seem like a not 4 star experience but the food was great, the tables and fire pits are so pretty just maybe the staff was a little distracted at the end.

Yelp
I came here for Restaurant Week recently and was excited to check it out! Lots of parking was available on the roof and my reservation was easily found and seated. I started with the Strawberry Fields cocktail and the provided popover and butter - the bread looks puffy but quickly deflates when you cut into it. Not my preferred choice but edible enough. Happily, the actual offerings on the Restaurant Week menu were far more successful. One of the original offerings was a duck terrine but that was swapped out for a charcuterie plate - a happy upgrade to my mind! I didn't love the spicy salami but the cheese, jam, and mustards were delicious. For my main course, I had the short rib and practically licked my plate clean, it was so tasty and perfectly prepared. For dessert, we got the strawberry mousse and pineapple upside-down cake. Honestly, I was so full that I could barely eat half of mine. A very successful night out with good service to boot!

Yelp
Worst decision to come in for drinks & appetizers on a Saturday day! I can't believe we walked in and there was a 30 minute wait and more for outside sitting! We sat in their conference/dirty table in the hallway. We came here for the food & service! We were told the bartender was our server unfortunately he was too busy to pay any attention to us! Never got my drink! We were there for 45min and no one ever showed up! Disappointed with the service & we decided to have our lunch somewhere else! The water what I had to go ask twice for and the appetizer was enjoyed but don't plan on returning to this place anytime soon! It's unfortunate that a dining experience now adays is disappointing! Why pay$$$ when you aren't getting any service and to top it off we were over charged & 5% added surcharge!

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed the most incredible evening at Vintana last night. The staff was so gracious to us and the service and our dinners were beyond our expectations. We discovered this wonderful restaurant after we moved from Northern California three years ago and every time we visit we have a special time. The ambiance is lovely with a wall of windows looking out on the foothills and booths so comfortable. Thank you to everyone who greeted us and made our evening so special. If you have not reserved a table at Vintana you are missing an incredible dining experience and absolutely the best food ever. We are blessed to have Vintana in Escondido . It truly is an amazing experience in dining.

Yelp
Good food, the only think is the waiter didn't not offer any birthday celebrations for my little girl.

Yelp
Anytime they have a concert at The Centre's rooftop, adjacent to Vintana, you'll find me there. Much more enjoyable than a crowded indoor venue. I'm not much of a foodie, but when I've eaten at Vintana, the meal and drink were wonderful.

Yelp
Get ready for a whirlwind of flavor and fun at our all-time favorite lunch hideaway! My husband and I have been loyal fans of this gem for years, and it's high time I shout it from the rooftops with a review! Picture this: an outdoor patio that's nothing short of magical, perfect for those who adore dining under the sky. Even on a chilly, breezy day, we cozied up under toasty overhead heaters, and get this - they even rolled out a heating tower just for us! Talk about VIP treatment! We had the entire patio to ourselves, basking in our little slice of paradise. Now, let's dive into the star-studded menu. Their Kung Pao calamari? Simply the best, hands down, our go-to appetizer. As for me, I'm head-over-heels for their shrimp lettuce wraps. They're the perfect blend of refreshing, with just the right kick of spice, and oh-so-light - leaving you plenty of room for the grand finale. And oh, the butter cake! It's like a little slice of heaven that vanishes off the plate before you even know it. We love to linger over our coffees, savoring each bite. And let's not forget the stellar service - attentive, friendly, and always ensuring we're having the time of our lives. Trust me, this place is a blast!

Yelp
The location threw me off just a bit as this sits on top of a Lexus dealer. The food was just ok nothing exciting. I was a little disappointed in the steak, the butter flavor was a little overwhelming.

Yelp
We love to come to Vintana during San Diego restaurant week. I came last night for a date night with my husband. Food was good. Our server Maddy was amazing! The complimentary popovers will keep us coming back! The inside had a good vibe but obviously a strange view as you over look a car dealership and freeway. When parking go to the the back on the dealership and drive to the top. The front door to the restaurant is there.

Yelp
The views are great, the service is good, and there's free parking. But the food is inconsistent, sometimes it's good and sometimes it isn't. I also think their wine list is surprisingly small for being a wine themed restaurant. I've gone at least 4xs so I've really tried to like them more.

Yelp
Call the the front desk to make a reservation and sent straight to hold, then Hostess said thank for for calling Vintana wine and dine please hold no name then placed on hold again, not sure what is happening but already got a bad taste my in mouth Cohn group not sure if I even want to make a reservation for tonight anymore if this how it is already starting out. 10 minutes on hold. Finally got through to host team got a reservation, sat out on the patio beautiful patio. Our server Mike was outstanding and treated my wife and I like royalty! Sous chef Daniel came out with some of the best ceviche with a plantain crunch. That I have ever had food is top notch and service was outstanding beside the getting past the Host stand. Hats off to the restaurant group staying chef focused!!!

Yelp
We have been exploring more of Escondido. Heard good things about this place so we made a reservation for Saturday night. First off it's on top of the Lexus dealership. Kinda different. It's actually quite elegant. Very clean lines every where one looks. The bar area is very nice. There's an outdoor patio area that has fire pits to stay warm and they had live music. We dined inside. Nice view mostly of the car lot but the freeway is also visible. Our waitress came by and got our drink order. They serve a delicious bread that seems like a croissant with seasoning on it and also a yummy butter. This night they had an appetizer special, pasta with black truffle and lobster bites. We got it and it was delicious. Our drinks came, I had a lemon drop and husband had one of their specialty drinks. Both were good. I decided to eat light and got the lobster bisque and a Caesar salad. Husband got their New Year special. He enjoyed what he got. A salad to start and Ahi tuna with a curry sauce for entree. I enjoyed the bisque but the salad wasn't good. It was 2 pieces of romaine lettuce with croutons and dressing. It was hard cutting it into small enough pieces to eat. When I order a salad I don't want to make it. Not a fan. I did let the waitress know and the manager came by and I told her that it wasn't a good way to serve a Caesar salad. They removed it from the tab. No desert but the ones we saw looked awesome . Service = 4 stars Ambiance = 4 stars Food= 3.5 Drinks = 4 Definitely will be back to try an entree and for happy hour.

Yelp
We love Vintana. We even go for Thanksgiving dinner! Always delicious, service always top of the line and restaurant is hip and relaxing with gorgeous views of our city

Yelp
Absolutely excellent restaurant and the staff are wonderful. We celebrated my brother's birthday here 3 weeks ago and it was a fantastic experience! These were just a couple of the items from the "birthday menu". I've eaten here many times and everything is delicious all the time! I highly recommend this restaurant
