Kate is absolutely gifted. I keep coming back because we collaborate on my nail art designs and she just keeps blowing it out of the water. She suggested nail builder and it was the best idea. My nails are growing strong and healthy. Also the cuticle care is top-notch. I love my monthly visits with Kate along with the monthly cocktails. And Ali, she's just such a beautiful soul. The nail art between these two ladies is worth the visits. 2025 update: Kate has moved to her own salon at Orange Door Studio.

This place is such a vibe! The interior is like a maze. I got coconut mocktail while waiting for the appointment from a disco ball serving as a cup. They only use non-toxic ingredients for their beauty service and I loved it! I didn’t like to pay before the appointment but I guess that’s what helps this business to plan better. I got eye brows sugaring and I think I received a pretty good service.

Cha Cha is the absolute BEST for a manicure! My nails last forever and she takes her time to make sure it’s exactly what I want every visit. The quality of her work is unreal. She is such a lovely human and so much fun. You are also greeted by so many great humans at every corner at the salon (& you get complimentary drinks, how fun)! Cannot recommend enough!

Super cute, friendly, and cool place got my haircut there this week (Doug Mesh is the best for a badass haircut) and it was such a nice experience. They offer some cool cocktails and also some N/A beverages you can enjoy while you get your nails/hair/massage/etc. done. They also validate parking if you have an appointment so you can park in the lot super close by and not stress about finding parking!

The best little place in Texas indeed! 💗Incredible atmosphere, impeccably decorated, complimentary cocktails (I got “The Dolly” cocktail, obvi) and I got to do some beauty, art & vinyl shopping while on site. I can’t say enough good things about this spot. An eclectic, east side, music centric GEM. 💎 The entire staff was welcoming, warm and professional. I booked had an eyebrow tinting with Sara and it was a game changer!

I couldn't be happier with my new haircut from Tinita at Vinyl Beauty Bar. No lie, several people told me "you look like a rock star!" and that's absolutely the vibe at vinyl, which makes sense for my rock n' roll lifestyle. This is also where my go-to nail artist Gabs calls home, so I frequent here for nail art/gel removal once a month or so. The nails and the haircut have become an essential part of my stage presence as a regularly gigging musician. All the staff here are incredibly friendly, hip, and professional. It's a total vibe and the type of place that deserves to be on your Austin bucket list.

Cha cha is AMAZING! Not only is she such a cool human but her nail art is to die for. Customer service is 10/10 and the salon is the cutest and coolest vibe. 100% recommend making her your go to nail lady! For super cute simple manicures to crazy & cool nail art, she does it all!

The vinyl beauty bar is the best! The owners, Michael and Tinita are just the coolest and nicest people. I recently went in to get a manicure done by Cha Cha. She did such a beautiful job! I highly recommend booking with her. I have also been to the vinyl beauty bar for a few shows now and have always had the best time.

I'm such a huge fan of locally-owned combo businesses. I mean that's what makes Austin, right? Vinyl Beauty Bar where you can buy records, get a haircut, and see a live band, has got to be one of my favorite inceptions. Laid back, friendly space that's welcoming to everyone.

Vinly Beauty Bar is a gem in Holly! Its vibe is all Austin - old and new. Cha Cha was great with my mani and pedi. I would recommend their services to anyone who likes the idea of getting pretty in a very cool space :-)

Regardless of what service you're there for, you won't be disappointed. I regularly went for specialty nail services, specifically to be serviced by Kate. The chairs are comfortable, the conversation flows, and the service is immaculate. They specialize in apres gel-x extensions, which are some of my favorite type of nails. And if nail art is your thing? Book with Kate. She won't let you down. Stick around for a cocktail, peep their Dolly merch and photos, and shop their record collection. This place is certainly one to be experienced.

I brought my 5 year old daughter here for her birthday and we got matching mani/pedis! It was an amazing experience right off the bat when the owner offered me a cocktail and her a mock tail. It was arguably one of the best cocktails I've ever had (at a nail salon, what??) It was my daughter's first time getting her nails done and she was living it UP. They gave her a cute little swag bag for her birthday and she still uses everything in it. And the durability of the nail polish is crazy... It's been a month and my toes haven't chipped at all, and my fingers are barely chipped. My daughter still talks about how much fun she had there and I'm endlessly grateful for the experience.

All the staff are friendly and welcoming. I got a massage with Emily and it was fantastic. Great pressure and regularly checked with me to ensure I was ok. I highly recommend coming here if you need a spa service, you're sure to have gun!

My husband and I had a couples massage here and the experience was FANTASTIC. Emily and Angel were so kind and relaxed our tired bodies until we felt rejuvenated. I've had a lot of massages in my life and this was one of the absolute best. The massage may be a bit pricier than others you can find in Austin BUT it is completely felt in the skill level of the practitioners. 10/10 recommend. I will be a regular here moving forward.

Recently visited the salon and i was very disappointed in the outcome. I did not get the hair style i asked for and she thinned out my hair without asking me bc it was "to thick" .My hair before the cut was thick and wavy, I asked for a short hair cut with layers but instead i got the Billy Hargrove cut . The hair stylist was toni. The salon was vibey, Cozey and a good environment and i liked the stylist honestly it's just that i didn't get what i asked for .

VINYL blew me away! I've never been in a spa/salon that's so eclectic it just makes your soul smile, yet also so warm & inviting. The staff is beyond amazing! This was my first time in, but it felt like my 100th. I felt like a friend just hanging out, I never once felt like a customer. I did a lash lift with Tatiana & OMG my lashes, I couldn't be happier!! I really loved that she talked me through every step, so I knew exactly what was happening. I can't wait to go back & try their facials and massages. Tatiana gave me so much great info on the amazing products they use that are eco friendly & vegan. Big bonus; if you love Dolly Parton get in here asap! The only thing you'll regret is that you waited so long!

So glad I found this place! I have been going to Ali for gel builder manicures and regular pedicures. She is AMAZING! She's very detail oriented and does such an awesome job. She's open to any and all nail art designs and will also give ideas. She's a lovely human. The salon is clean and fun. You can get a free drink that they make after your service - frozen cocktails, beers, you name it! They also use only cruelty-free products which is so rare! My favorite part about the salon, though, is that they clearly treat their employees so well.

Angel gave an incredible massage! This place is more expensive than other places for massages...and the difference is 100% tangible and worth its My wife and I had a couples massage that transported us into another realm of relaxation, comfort, and ease. I can easily say it was the best massage I've ever had in my life. And my wife who worked with Emily can say the same. Thank you for the great experience we will definitely be back again.

The BEST place in Austin to get your nails and hair done. I've been a regular of Ali's for about a year now and getting my nails done is always the best part of my week. Ali and Kate both do amazing work and it's like I'm just hanging with friends each appointment. My nails are the best they've ever been because of the gel builder that Ali uses. And all of the nail art I've gotten has been incredible! Liz cuts my hair and I have been obsessed with every cut. She's always game to try something new and excited about how it'll look. When you finish getting your hair cut the whole salon celebrates how good it looks and it always makes me feel so good. Such a welcoming environment. Delicious, complimentary cocktails. Chill vibes. Great music. Highly recommend.

I came in for a haircut the other day. The experience was good and the people were fine. The day after getting the haircut, I noticed that I had a clump of hair sticking out that had been missed. I went back in to point this out and get a quick snip of the protruding hair. The same stylist that cut my hair was there and I pointed this out to her. I thought that It would be a quick repair and I'd be on my way. She just sort of dismissed it; saying that I wasn't "putting my hair down" or something like that. I definitely have a clump of hair sticking off of my head and I have a wedding to attend this week. The haircut was more on the expensive end and I tipped 30%. I'll have to get someone to clip this hair off before the wedding. I'll be taking my business somewhere else.

Vinyl Beauty is fantastic. From the staff to the environment, you will be sure to have a good time. I started coming during the pandemic because they offered outdoor haircuts and appreciated that they put safety first. Since then, I have been hooked. Kylie is wonderful! Her haircuts are spot on and her color is perfect. At times, I may not know what I exactly want but she has a vision and executes it perfectly! And we must not forget their cocktails! Wow! They truly put thought into creating unique beverages that make for an enjoyable time. From the music, the conversation, the services - you will not be disappointed.

Vinyl was the first salon I went back to after getting vaccinated. The salon owners and staff had policies in place that made me feel safe and comfortable in the salon. I've been going for about a year now and absolutely love the staff and amazing work they do! Kate always does an incredible job on my nails. She is warm and personable and cares about my nail goals and recommends treatments or applications that have improved the health and look of my nails. Kylie worked with me to understand the look and change I wanted in my hair color and grays that stylist at other salons ignored or wouldn't do. Since her cut and color I've received tons of compliments and love the result. The atmosphere, location, drinks are all great, but the amazing staff is what really sets Vinyl apart.

Starting with the good: the service was A+, the staff person was super sweet and kept refilling my water as soon as it was empty which is more than I can say about the wait staff at some restaurants. My nail tech felt knowledgable and it was very nice seeing him use freshly sterilized instruments for my service. the playlist was about stellar and the overall vibe of the place was cool. I enjoyed seeing copper bowls for pedicures which are naturally antimicrobial and not having to worry if the jetted tub was properly cleaned between visitors. The actual pedicure chair was wide which is a real blessing for me as a very fat person who does not comfortably fit in standard arm chairs. My nail tech was also able to push back his next client after I needed to start my appointment 30 minutes late. truly very good customer service. And now the not so good: starting with the biggest thing, the price. $150 (including $10 tip) for a pedicure and manicure and only getting gel on my fingers is a bit much. not saying that it's unreasonable but it hurt to pay. The space is also smaller than I expected and it felt weird having a record store, bar and hair salon within spitting distance of where I was getting my nails done. Because it was so close I could very clearly hear the stylists conversation who was cutting hair which just felt so weird because I find that's not the norm in nail salons. Additionally, as a person who is almost six feet tall it was a little uncomfortable getting my pedicure in the chairs since I couldn't scoot the seat bag to more comfortably angle my feet when they were being scrubbed and painted. Overall I won't be going back because the cost is too high for me to justify right now but if a more social atmosphere is your idea of a good time and you've got the money to spend it's totally worth it. Oh but parking is a bit of a pain.

I booked an appointment because I found a nail place that had a time and date that worked with my schedule this week. I was super stoked to try out VINYL because of all the great reviews plus free drink with pedicures. The place was super cool and right near the train. The two-car train is considered a mode of transportation in Austin. LOL Anyway, the salon is aesthetically appealing to the eye and fun to look at while inside. Check-in is required at the door thanks to old 'Rona. I had to sign a COVID release and temperature checks. I miss the old days. Once inside I was able to pick out my color of polish and led to the pedicure area. It was an oversize chair and not a massage chair. Overall the experience was nice and polish turned out great. I was a little disappointed that I had to take my drink to go instead of enjoying it while getting my pedicure done.

I wasn't going to leave this review, but after I left one elsewhere about my disappointing experience here, the owner demanded I provide my full name, saying they will flag my valid review because it doesn't seem legitimate (I use my initials for privacy - exactly for this reason!). I provided proof to prevent them from taking down a legitimate review. Don't provide poor service if you can't take criticism. Avoid this place.

Great facial and brow tinting service with Bernadette. My skin feels amazing and the brows look exactly like I wanted them to. The atmosphere of this place is very unique and the staff was very welcoming!

My sister persuaded me to come here during my visit to Austin. She's much cooler than me, and although I initially balked at the $50 price tag for a pedicure, she assured me that this was a whole "experience." So we went. There are many pluses of this place: the chic decor, the gold hardware, the friendly and fun staff, the glittered floor (completed during a glitter party!) AND DOLLY (THE VERY GOOD GIRL) DOG. Pro tip: Dolly loves belly rubs. There are themed pedicures with matching complimentary beverages- like a lemonade vodka drink with your Beyonce Lemonade pedicure. We opted for the seasonal special: the Caramel Apple Bourbon Pedicure. It included a cinnamon coconut brown sugar scrub AND a warm caramel apple bourbon cider. #yaskween This place gets the community involved, with local vendors and themed events, like the Halloween party they're throwing this weekend. Coming here is a pleasure, as everyone who works here is accepting and non-judgy. The inside really makes you feel fancy. Do you ever leave a salon secretly hating your pedicure, thinking that tbh, you could have done a better job painting your own toes? Yea, that won't happen to you here. Plus... complimentary dranks!!!

What fun! Yes, I said fun. Sometimes getting a mani and/or pedi can feel like a chore, albeit a self-care one, but a chore nonetheless. Not at VINYL. They make it a party. From easy communication via the Yelp message feature to walking in and being greeted with a drink list, you can instantly tell that VINYL was crafted with the customer in mind. You're choosing to spend a chunk out of your day with them, so they're going to make it worth your while. The mani/pedi isn't cheap, but there's alcoholic beverages that accompany it and stimulating conversation. The extra details (like the oils and elixirs they use during the services) are what sets VINYL apart from other nail salons. Was there celebrating a friend's bday, and these ladies were so awesome, they put together a little bday bag complete with birthday tiaras for said friend. The pedicure was definitely the highlight, as my color still looks fresh after a week and some change, and I would go back again and again for that pampering partaaaay. (Manis are great, but unless you're getting gel or have the budget/time to go once a week, they feel like a waste of money, as mine never last longer than a couple days.)

Toni is my stylist and listens to what I want but also prioritizes what's best for my hair type/needs. also love that There is no heavy sales pressure for products or additional services (that happens at big box salons all the time). Also Toni is so good at washing my hair/massaging my scalp, it's like a spa experience!

I am so happy to have found Vinyl Beauty Bar! Finding a good salon is hard to do - it requires talented staff, good vibes, quality products, and a commitment to values that matter to me. I have not been able to find that combination all in one place in a long time. AND totally kicking free cocktails? Vinyl is hitting all of my happy places. The staff is genuinely kind and friendly (Michael goes above and beyond and is one of the nicest guys I've ever met!), and the stylists actually listen to you. I was able to do a consultation with Liz before getting my hair colored, something I wish other salons were more accommodating to do. And all the way, sweet little Dolly the dog is wandering around, good music is playing, and they are serving tasty drinks. I seriously want to just like hang out there.

There really aren't enough words to explain how truly Wonder-full this place is!!!! Hands down THE BEST beauty salon in town, (altho it's difficult to even think of limiting myself to calling it a typical "salon", cuz it's SO MUCH MORE FABULOUS and varied in offerings than ANY other place I've ever been!) I mean, the place is just some GORGEOUS/glittery/classy/rock n' roll/FUN-like-no-other. There's always a happy/light vibe in the place as soon as you walk in, they're spinning great records all day long, there are beautiful cocktails while you're gettin all beautified, and THE STAFF ARE THE BEST!, (seriously, the owners and staff are straight up just some of The Best Humans ever. period.) Heather just SAVED me from a horrible half-haircut I had given myself, ‍‍‍ and fixed me up EVEN BETTER than what I'd imagined in the first place! I really can't say enough about this place and the people who give it such LIFE. Every experience I have had there leaves me walking out feeling delighted by my new look, and generally fantastic about the calibur of people who are running SUCH a TREASURE of a LEGIT ATX LOCAL BUSINESS!!! Worth it's weight in pure gold glitter. (*Seriously, just do yer soul a favor and come here. ) THANK YOU GUYS FOR DOING WHAT YOU DO SO WELL!!!

Absolutely Delighted! I received a consultation, haircut, and highlights from Liz. I couldn't be more pleased! I came in with some reference photos for what I wanted and consulted with my hair dresser regarding highlights. Context: I have thin hair and don't want to damage the hair I hold dear. Genetics will not be kind towards the longevity of a full head of hair. Experience: Liz made sure to discuss options and make sure the appropriate dyes/processes were used. I had a pleasant conversation, received a few complimentary drinks, and left feeling more attractive than I've felt in all of quarantine. Cost: I don't typically get highlights so my typical male haircut is cheap at around 50$. This was definitely the most expensive hair cut to date I have had at about 175$ before gratuity. But, I have no regrets nor complaints it's a fair price for the experience and It was well worth the price to look as I do know. A worth while investment in me and money well spent. Final thoughts TLDR: Well done Liz, Vinyl Beauty Bar delivered an excellent experience, hope more business comes y'all's way. Cheers!

I absolutely LOVE Vinyl Beauty Bar, and I'm so happy to count this awesome place amongst the businesses in my neighborhood. The themed mani-pedis (Dolly Parton, Johnny Cash, Selena, Janis Joplin, and Beyoncé) are adorable designed and each come with their own speciality scent and cocktail. The cocktails are super yummy with strong pours, and there's also wine and beer if that's more your speed. The staff is super friendly and talented. Katy did a lovely job on my mani-pedi and she was sweet and fun to talk to. Dolly, the salon's beautiful and stylish queen bee, is the cutest! One of the top mani-pedis in Austin for sure. I love coming here and can't recommend it enough!

I never have a bad time here. I look forward to all of my nail appointments with Klaryssa because I don't feel like I'm "just going to get my nails done." Walking into Vinyl, you feel like you just walked into a place and all your friends are there. The service? Impeccable. Everyone is polite, genuine, and happy to have you. Worried about prices? I've been to ALOT of nail salons and have paid bare minimum and also a lot. All I can say is that you get what you pay for. Don't expect high quality or reduction paying bottom dollar prices. I've never had quality issues here. My nails stay on for ages, and the products they use are quality. Do yourself a favor and give Vinyl a try. PS - you get a free cocktail woth your service.

Vinyl did an amazing job with mine and my bridal party's nails!! They even gave me a small gift afterwards. Splurge and get the dolly mani and pedi it is amazing !

This is my new favorite nail salon!! Merry Carla did an amazing full set and was so helpful in deciding the color and shape. They are taking all the proper precautions to protect their clients: temp checks and hand sanitizer at check-in, everyone wears a mask, and there are glass partitions between staff and clients. Plus it's the coolest experience you'll ever have inside a salon.

Tinita and her Husband are awesome, felt welcome from the moment I walked in, great conversationalists. I loved the smell of the pedicure aromatherapy and sugar scrub and my complimentary virgin cocktails was tasty They take COVID seriously, been hesitant on visiting a nail salon for a long time as I am pregnant but I felt safe and comfortable the whole time i was there, will definitely come back. I do not live in Austin, but every time I visit, I always schedule a manicure with Vinyl. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. This salon got me into gel manicures because of the excellent job they did cleaning up my hands and really taking the time to apply the manicure properly. I recently had Merry work her magic on my nails and with everything going on right now, I love looking at my hands and having some semblance of peace that at least my hands look 100. Vinyl is one of the only places I have ventured out to that is really taking the COVID precautions seriously. Your temperature is checked and your hands are sanitized before even you enter the salon, all staff members have PPE and are COVID certified, and follow healthy social distancing like a religion. If you are understandably concerned about venturing in public right now, they will take care of you. Also they have a salon dog. I'm not kidding, she's there every time I go and I love seeing her. Her name's Dolly and just with her being there is worth an additional star for their yelp review. I will be back!

I've walked past this place 100 times, I am so glad I finally made an appointment. They use the most amazing products. I didn't even realize O Way had a color line. The space is beautiful and all of the products are vegan. There's also a bar and they sell records. We need more places like this to keep Austin amazing and authentic.

Hahaha just moved to Austin, saw this cute haircut place and decided to book an appointment. Hairdresser did not do what I had asked, there were some miscommunications on my part but at the end, I would put it in her hands. Other times that I have gotten haircuts, the stylists ask me if the amount of hair they're ab to cut is okay. She didn't ask me. My hair is ab an inch or more shorter than I wanted. I have bangs which yes I did ask for but not the way I wanted and again she didn't ask if this was exactly what I wanted before she made the cut. Now for the next month, I have to pin back the unwanted bangs and take a crap load of hair vitamins.

So many good things about this place. Went for mani/pedi with my adult daughter The products they use are top notch. My toes look great and the color has lasted for 4 weeks. The experience was relaxing and great care was taken thru the entire process The music was all my favs! The drinks are a very nice touch. Daughter is allergic to coconut. Many of their scrubs are coconut based and they were unfazed and quickly whipped up a scrub just for her I have my next appointment this week. This place ROCKS!

Klaryssa is the baddest bitch! Not only is she funny but she is super detail oriented and makes sure your nails are looking RIGHT the shop is neat, clean and the decor is super unique! Oh, and you get free drinks at their bar

I've gotten my hair done by Tinita for over 6 years. She's been doing it for way longer, I know. Now she's got an entire world at Vinyl that she's sharing with everyone, so consider yourselves blessed! Vinyl is more than just a place to get your hair cut, it's a community hub where you can meet interesting people and attend fun events. All the services here are top notch: your nails will be pieces of art, a great cut, beautiful organic color, and even the drinks you get while you sit have glitter in them. I highly recommend you check Vinyl out, and say hello to the resident mascot, Dolly the Poodle.

I loooove Vinyl. Great music, cute atmosphere, drinks?! + the best staff around.. all I can say is that its rated the #1 spot in Austin for a reason. All the ladies here are amazing but Klaryssa is my go-to for nail art and manicures. She took my damaged SNS nubs and transformed them into beautiful, long & natural nails! I'm hooked and will never go anywhere else to get my nails done.

I've never had so much fun getting my hair done. I've got my hair highlighted there a couple of times, and the whole team is just so nice. Plus, they've always offered me a cocktail first thing, which I can definitely appreciate. I've also been super happy with the results. On one of my recent visits, the color was a little far from the roots. I reached out to let them know, and Tinita immediately scheduled a root touch up at no cost -- and it turned out beautifully.

My absolute favorite place to get a mani/pedi in Austin! The staff is wonderful, the drinks are delicious, ALL their products are vegan (even the ones made in house for purchase!), and the prices are right on point with the quality of service. It's so easy to book online here. If I had to rate them out of 10, I'd say an easy 15/10 :)

Saw Klaryssa for a manicure and it was AMAZING! She shaped my natural nails perfectly and gently. The implements and space were very clean. I got black gel polish with blue flames and they are MEGA cute. Another plus is there was no chemically smell from the products!! I loved listening to Marilyn Manson while getting a manicure, and the bar service is fantastic with plenty of drink options from local distillers like Deep Eddy. Conversation was easy and fun, plus the atmosphere is dreamy. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough!

Went to the MLK location and Jasmine totally exceeded my expectations with the color she did! She got everything right: color, cut, style, the whole deal. I enjoyed the process also, very relaxing environment and great people working there. Quite fair price wise too as I saved 20% my first visit. I'm for sure making Vinyl my place in Austin.

I LOVE this salon and can totally see why they won #1 Salon in Austin. I have been coming since they opened. The Vinyl Beauty Bar crew is not only talented but get an A+ in hospitality!! There is nowhere else you can get quality salon services, great music (sometimes a live DJ) and delicious vegan cocktails all in one place! Not to mention their great vinyl selection. Everyone truly is a VIP at Vinyl Beauty Bar. If you haven't tried them out, you are missing out!

Basically my favorite place to get nails done. When I go here it's a treat. I love the signature cocktails and packages named after amazing singers like Selena and Janis Joplin. The ladies are super friendly and it's just like hanging out with the gals! I always feel refreshed when I leave. I haven't had my hair done here yet but I see folks leave with the cutest hairdo and attitude! Worth it!

I love how trendy and friendly VINYL is! Karla did an amazing job and explained exactly what she was doing while she was working on me. It felt like i was truly talking to a friend. This place is great! I've been coming here since they first opened and have been treated to some of the best service in town. The owners care about their clients and have created such a funky, unique Austin experience which retains the OG Austin vibe nicely. As an on and off resident of Austin for the past 30+ years, they get it right. Not only does it function as a salon, but they have an amazing selection of vinyl records, hence the name. Also, be sure to try out their assortment of awesome homemade facial scrubs. I recommend the Willie Nelson. The thing I would also like to point out is that during the pandemic, they went above and beyond to keep their staff and clients safe. I am thoroughly impressed with their professionalism and positive attitudes and will continue to patronize their establishment.

Your salon is super clean and Liz did a great precision cut. During the pandemic safety is most important and you are doing everything right.
