Don't let the construction stop you from visiting local businesses in downtown Overland Park. It may be inconvenient to walk a little way to your destination, but it's definitely worth it.  We stopped in Viona's for lunch on Saturday, and it was amazing. It's was a cool and quiet place to rest after shopping in our busy OP Farmer's Market. Luka served fantastic appetizers and pasta. I had a glass of wine, and my husband had cheesecake for dessert- delicious meal! We then walked six minutes back to our car, which justified the pasta dishes we chose. It's was good for us to exercise anyway. But if you do need to park close, they have a parking adjacent to the restaurant (just take 79th to Marty). Downtown OP is going to be fabulous when they are done, so please don't let construction discourage you from supporting those businesses who have less foot traffic right now. And definitely visit Viona's!

We had a nice, late lunch here on a Sunday. The outside patio provided great shade. The service was fabulous. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We had a bottle of wine, two entrees, and a dessert for $85. Very impressed with the prices. The food was tasty, as well! Highly recommend coming here to eat a meal!

I was absolutely blown away. 9.5 (10 for me is God came down and served me food himself) The muscles were the best sauce I have ever had with muscles. Delicious. 9.75. Chef's Choice - Wow! I mean wow. So good. The sauce, the chicken, the pasta. Wow. 9.5. Viva Italia - My wife got this. I tried some. We both felt it was delicious and maybe the best pasta we've ever had. She gave it a 9, I said 9.5. Atmosphere was fantastic and the service was even better. You cannot call yourself a fan of Italian food until you've ate here. Family owned truly authentic Italian food. You cannot find better.

This Italian restaurant in Overland Park truly stands out! The ambiance is cozy and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for a relaxing meal. We tried a variety of dishes, starting with the Supreme Pizza, which turned out to be one of the best pizzas we’ve had in the area. The crust was perfectly baked, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. For entrees, we ordered the Shrimp Diavolo, Chicken Pomodoro, Shrimp A la Pesto, and Pasta Primavera (veg). Every dish was absolutely delicious, but the highlight was the fresh pesto sauce served on the side—so rich and flavorful that it elevated every bite. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. If you’re looking for a must-try Italian spot in Overland Park, this place is a winner!

Updating my review as we just went over memorial weekend. They were playing Christmas music the whole time which is odd but the food was amazing as always! I was with two gentlemen and our server asked them what they wanted to drink and completey ignored me and didn't ask if I wanted anything other than water. I thought that was extremely rude but other than that, everything was really good and I will still go back.

Great experience. My sister has a disability and the staff was very understanding and kinda about making room for her wheelchair and checking up on us. The food was amazing and I really appreciated how the server we had and the owner walked around and seemed like they really wanted to make sure people were having a great time. Thank you and we will for sure be back.

Amazing little spot. Food was so fresh and delicious. Server was very attentive and patient. Very cozy atmosphere. Did not take long to get seated since we showed up right before they got hit with the Saturday dinner rush. Fettuccine was definitely good and the tortellini was amazing. The fried ravioli lives up to ALL the hype! Came with some family but definitely looking forward to coming back for a date night soon!

Yelp
This is a true OP treasure. The food is delicious, service is great, and it's so kid-friendly. We eat here once or twice a month because it's that good. We have young children so we come early for dinner, around 5, and get seated fairly quickly. If you come around 6:30-7, there's usually a wait. The first thing I always do is put in an order of pasta for our kids. The servers totally understand and are so accommodating. Shortly after we place our drink and food order, they come swiftly out with the kids food! While the kids eat and we munch on the softest bread, I'm usually able to have a conversation with my husband because the kids are occupied with eating! We get the pasta with meat sauce for the kids. The kids version is enough for two kids to share but sometimes we order the adult version and have plenty of leftovers. My husband usually orders the Nikki special and I usually get the frutti di mare. Both are so good, distinct flavors and so much food. Sometimes we finish the entire plate, other times we take it home. The best part is that this restaurant is so homey and comfortable. The servers are all so kind and attentive. And they love children here which makes us always want to come back. There's currently a lot of farmers market construction traffic happening around their restaurant. There is still plenty of parking on the other side of the road! So instead of turning left into the usual parking lot, just park on the right side and cross the street.

Yelp
This is a great Italian place close to the city market in downtown OPKS! We went for lunch after attending the market. We thoroughly enjoyed our chicken parm and Italian sampler. The side salad and rolls that come with it are super yummy. The dining room is nice and clean and quiet, lights dim for a real respite from the heat of summer. Service was great. Please don't let the construction of the market determine you from coming here. There's still lots of. Lose parking and the staff could really use the business with the market being aways away for now.

Yelp
Viona's is a downtown OP staple. It's rare to find good Italian food where the food is delicious and the restaurant vibes are casual or you can dress up a bit classier. Service is amazing, I've been multiple times and they are always attentive. We got the Baked Ziti (staple) the Viva Italia (must try if you like a unique pasta), pepperoni pizza (pizza is great and so reasonable priced) and Lasagna (staple)! Also, great addition as they bring bread rolls and a unique oil for any meal. I would highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed!

Yelp
Had a lovely dinner with some of my work family while I was in town. It was a great space where we could catch up and have a great meal. The service was great as four women took our time to decide what we were going to get! The patient waiter refilled our water and offered suggestions and made sure we were cared for while we gabbed away. When it was time for dessert we split the tiramisu and the limoncello cake. Both delightful and the best ending to a great night! This place is a fun spot, not the highest of fine dining with a relaxed space and good food.

Richard R.

Yelp
Great food and service. Pasta was cooked perfectly. The salad was fresh. The service was on point. Great space to eat and easy parking!

Harvey R.

Yelp
Great food. Great drinks. The servers remain calm even on a busy Saturday night. This is the perfect, family run Italian restaurant. So why not a five star review? Food as good as theirs should be dressed with freshly grated Parmesan; instead after the main course is set on the table, the servers come by with a large bowl of previously grated Parmesan. Upgrade the serving style of the cheese and I will gladly change my review to five stars.

Yelp
Oh my! Where to start! This is my GO TO Italian restaurant!! Best in the KC area. I recommend this place to any and everyone!! I like to try something new everytime I come! 10/10 recommended!!! I personally got the Chicken Al La Pesto and I will definitely be getting it again!! George was our server and he was amazing and the sweetest!! Amazing ambiance!

Yelp
My husband surprised me today with a lovely birthday lunch at this cozy authentic Italian restaurant. We were seated in a nice corner table for 2 with a tablecloth and wine glasses and since they knew it was my birthday, they had a pretty sparkly runner on the table. My husband wanted an appetizer as a main dish and so they accommodated him in that by making it with more shrimp. It was a buttery lemon herbed shrimp dish that he could have had pasta included with but just wanted the shrimp. The shrimp were large and juicy and he said it was excellent. The brought yeasty rolls to the table first with an onion/garlic/herb oil dipping sauce. I had a large Caesar salad with grilled chicken added and no croutons. They offer gluten free pasta as an option as well. We enjoyed a Bellini cocktail that was good and they presented a choice of a piece of cake for the birthday recipient. I have celiac so couldn't have it but my husband chose Italian Crème cake that I licked the small decorative circle that they held the candle in and it was delicious. My husband said the cake was excellent. I appreciated the service as it was excellent, they were attentive but not too attentive. They also asked if I would like "Happy Birthday " sung in English or Italian, of course I requested Italian! I would highly recommend.

Yelp
I grew up with Italian friends north of Boston in a town with a few real Italian restaurants. Viona's is a real jewel. It's small but not too, definitely a family run neighborhood place. It has great food at fair prices. Service is really friendly. We will be back and I'd recommend it to anyone. I tried the Pasta Sampler. Others had the linguini with shrimp Alfredo and spaghetti. Desserts were turimasu and Italian chocolate cake. Try it. You'll like it.

Yelp
Celebrated hubby's birthday with a lovely late lunch at Viona's Bistro this week. They have lunch specials, but we chose to order off the dinner menu. We shared the Italian Sausage appetizer which was recommended by others on Yelp. Delish!! Fresh rolls with a bruschetta-like dipping sauce was brought to the table gratis, too. Then, we split the Sprimp and Scallop Pasta dish. Oh my. Lovely sauce, nice size shrimp. Extra fresh Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top at the table. Plenty to eat! I ordered a glass of Moscato and that was devine. For dessert, we shared a slice of Limoncello Cake, which was brought to the table with a lit BD candle! Seriously, everything we had was great. They said they've been open for 5-years, but we had never been before. We will from now on, though. As we were leaving, it looked like the local Italian fussball team was piling in. Viona's has a nice intimate size dining room, so I can see why some reviewers say it can get crowded. We were there mid-afternoon which was perfect. Go early -- they don't close between lunch and dinner.

Yelp
This was a fantastic first visit but mostly due to the food. The prices were super affordable compared to some other Italian restaurants. This visit occurred on a Friday right before 6pm and it was already busy and quite loud. By 6:30 there was already wait! I only know this because we were seated right behind the host. Also when we walked in we noticed how dark it was, so dark our eyes had to adjust before reading the menu. We decided to start off with some basic dishes but one of which happens to be my favorite Italian dish, spaghetti w/ meatballs and fettuccine Alfredo for our daughter. If you can't do basic well, then good chance your other dishes won't meet the expectation. Well, they were both very delicious! The Alfredo was mild and just enough flavor but not too much where you can still taste the noodle. The spaghetti sauce was seasoned just right and noodles perfectly "al dente". There were 4 halved meatballs if put together would probably be a bit smaller than a pool ball (mind you I have shot pool for a couple years now). It even had thinly sliced sautéed garlic pieces! Only complaint I have is that our server definitely forgot about us after getting our boxes. Literally sat there talking with my wife for 20+ mins before finally getting the attention of the host for our check. He was super nice and got our server to bring the check and they both apologized for the wait. Over all a great foodie experience and would have been in and out in less than an hour if we didn't have to wait for our check. We'll definitely come back to try some other dishes we are interested in!

Yelp
We arrived at Viona's on a Saturday night around 7:00 PM. There was already a long wait and tables filled with laughter, sips, and tastes. We were greeted warmly; we were then seated after our wait time. The server was friendly and helpful as he answered questions about drink pairings with food, recommendations for entrees, and more. They brought us bread with olive oil to begin. I ordered the fruitti de mare which came with a salad--I chose Mediterranean. The salad was very delicious and I enjoyed the dressing. However, the star of the show was the frutti de mare which was extremely delicious--the seafood was cooked beautifully and I couldn't get enough of it! The pasta was also yummy; I highly recommend this dish. It paired beautifully with a glass of Pinot Grigio. This is a hidden gem in KC with a warm, intimate feeling, delicious food, and yummy drinks. I highly recommend and I will be visiting again!!

Yelp
This was once my favorite Italian restaurant, and even did a 5 star review a year ago or so. My how things have changed. We opted to take a seat on their small outdoor patio....mistake 1. We had to ask for water, and finally our server noticed us. Drinks were ordered and arrived in a timely manner. No napkins, no silverware still. We ordered our main course and I noticed the chicken parmigiana had an upcharge for veal so that was my choice. When the entrees were served I had to ask for silverware and after several minutes we were finally brought utensils. Then I realized I had been given chicken parmigiana instead of the veal. They were apologetic and took the dish back to be remade. By the time they returned with the veal my partner was half way through her meal. The veal was awful, tough, sliced way too thickly and had an unappealing gray color. I know veal and this was a flavorless hunk of meat, may have been veal.... I'm not really sure. Our water glasses were refilled only because I beseeched another server who was walking by with a pitcher. Apologies were offered and the only recompense offered was a free desert. I declined the offer I just wanted to put an end to this miserable dining experience. So there you have it once person's experience of a favorite eatery going from best to bust. Bad night..understaffed...inexperienced chef. Who knows.... but the competition for Italian food is fierce in Johnson County and these folks need to up their game!!

Yelp
I had the pleasure of trying this place out Tuesday evening. It is a small, quiet restaurant. Service was exceptional. Our food was superb. My friend and I shared the chefs special so we could save room for dessert. So happy we did. The shrimp was plump and delicious. The chicken was tender. I was initially concerned about hot cherry peppers but they just added a tiny kick of flavor. The peach Bellini was amazing. My friend got an Italian margarita- it was so sweet and yummy, also very strong! We finished off the night with their limoncello cream cake. It did not disappoint. Highly recommend this little gem!

Yelp
This is a family owned restaurant. . A group of friends and I go here to celebrate our birthdays every couple of months. The service has always been very good and we've NEVER had a bad meal. We always finish our meal with a shared piece of the Italian cream cake....so delicious!

Yelp
We have to come to Kansas City every few months for my daughter's Doctor appointments at Children's Mercy. She usually wants to eat here while we're in town. It's a very cute little place. The bread is the best I've ever had. It's so soft and fresh and it comes out with this oil that makes it even better. The food is also very good. BUT the service is not the best. We've been there during the day where we literally were the only table, but yet we were going without refills and things we needed. I also had a very rude waiter once that laughed at me every time I asked for extra bread. We have had good service there, but more often, it's not good. I wish I could give them 5 stars because the atmosphere and food is great. But they definitely need to work on how their sever's are treating their customers.

Yelp
We love going to Vionas. The food is always wonderful and the service outstanding. Its a very small place so it feels like dining with family. We love the bread knots and the lasagna.

Yelp
Wonderful place, with wonderful people. Upon entering the beautiful establishment I was greeted by a very respectful gentleman that escorted me to my table. Upon sitting down I was almost immediately approached by staff with a water & menu. They also brought out bread with an amazing spread on the side as seen in the photo. Italian music played in the background with a beautiful lighting in the bistro. The menu was well ordered and explained. The staff was knowledgeable with outstanding serving etiquette. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo which was rather flavorful and came with ginormous shrimp, I enjoyed it very much. Would highly recommend Viona's for their wonderful service, knowledge and well prepared food. Thank you Viona's for a wonderful meal!

Yelp
Stopped by this new to me Italian Bistro - constantly looking for really good Italian in the KC Metro area - and was hugely pleased with this lovely little place. The ambiance is simple and cozy: linen even at lunch, a small outdoor area on a quiet street, small bar complete with twinkle lights and really friendly people. The lunch menu looked very good and a good value, but I wanted seafood and pasta, linguini and clams or their shrimp and scallops with Alfredo. I chose the latter and was very pleased. The shrimp were large and perfectly cooked. The pasta was 'just so' ardente. Really very good. I was also impressed with the starter salads and the bread service with flavored oil. The rolls are sensational. I preferred the Italian cream cake to take home and trust it will be delicious. Oh! And my wine pour was generous. I am looking forward to coming back!

Jenn E.

Yelp
Outstanding food large portions. Best recommendation is to call ahead before you go they do not take reservations, but will add you to a wait list. Background noise is loud. But even with the background noise I'd still give this place 10/10!

L S.

Yelp
I really like Viona's. It feels like a neighborhood restaurant should. I have been there many times and felt it was time to write a review. It's convenient in a safe neighborhood, has great food at reasonable prices, and the staff is friendly -- what more could you ask? BTW, I like the meatballs, the red sauce, the fettuccini, their Italian sausage, and even their house wines. I don't know that I have a favorite dish - lots of times I just get their Italian sausage and spaghetti. It's getting quite busy probably because it's such an enjoyable. We've taken friends and then they start taking their guests.

Wayne M.

Yelp
We celebrated a family birthday there and we were treated as kings and queens! Each course is delicious, the wine selection paired with our dishes. Food and service are a five star. We will be back.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant as well!! You could easily dress up and make it a fancy dinner or you could show up in jeans shorts! The staff were amazing! The lasagna and ravioli were so good! Definitely one of my favorite Italian places in KC!

Yelp
Great food for take out for 9 people who all had different tastes!! Even Gluten Free! And the staff was helpful with a delivery service issue!!

Yelp
Cute little place and a nice bistro ambiance. We stopped in for a quick lunch on a Saturday and were happy to see lunch specials. I had the Stromboli, it came with a cesar salad and bread for the table. My husband had the three pasta sampler and a house salad. Everything was delicious and fresh, service was excellent. We will be back when we can spend more time and explore the menu.

Yelp
I found this place on Yelp and had it bookmarked forever! We went there on a Sunday evening and were sat right away. The staff was very friendly and super attentive. The atmosphere calm but not too stuffy. It's a great place for a date or to take the family. Now the food! Oh my! The pasta was absolutely Amazing! The complimentary bread and sauce was delicious and so soft. The calamari I could do without. It tasted frozen and chewy. Now the pasta ... oh my goodness! The best pasta I've had. Cooked just right! Proportions were great and the sauces/ meat were soooooo good! We cannot wait to bring our family here. Definitely a new favorite spot.
google avatar

Kimberly A.

Yelp
I went there for the first time with a girlfriend and we had an amazing time. Nice cozy little place with tablecloths and the food was amazing! It's a great place for date night. I couldn't decide what to get (it all sounded so good), so I got Napoli's combo and everything was fantastic! Definitely large portions, so you'll likely have leftovers. Our service was excellent and very attentive. The bread was so delicious it was hard not to ask for more! Will certainly go back!

Yelp
We really enjoyed our first trip to Viona's in the downtown Overland Park area. It appears to be a strip mall from the outside but the indoors is quaint and inviting. The space is small so reservations are suggested. The menu is full of traditional Italian starters, pastas, pizzas, and entrees. We tried the linguine and clams and the lobster ravioli. Several at our table had the spaghetti and meatballs. Everything was tasty, especially the rolls that came out first. They were amazing! The staff and service was very friendly and helpful as well. It feels like you're dining with family, which is a nice bonus. Next time we'll save room for dessert!
google avatar

Tiffany F.

Yelp
I have no words! We made reservations for my daughter's bday. We were seated promptly and our waitress came right away. The rolls. My god. Little toasty on the outside and pillowy on the inside. Came with a side of oil with garlic and peppers and onion. We had 7 in our party and we all ordered different items. Everyone absolutely loved what they had. I chose spaghetti and meatballs with shrooms. So flavorful and just delicious. Shrooms chopped into chunks! I have enough leftovers for 2 meals. So highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to try the chicken parmigiana! No pics as we inhaled it too fast!

Yelp
We tried this place out this evening! It was great! We arrived around 5 pm for an early dinner Saturday night. Shortly after, the place filled up and was very busy! Our waitress was great. All of our meals were delicious. We had the Napoli combo, ravioli and the baked ziti. We want to come back and try more menu items!

Yelp
Nice small cozy place with excellent food and service. If you're looking for stuffy or posh, try someplace else. Viva Italia was excellent!

Yelp
The sound a cannoli should make when you bite into it should be "crunch!" Thankfully this was the case when I enjoyed Viona's amazing cannoli after my dinner. They fill it fresh when you order it & it is creamy & chocolaty. I ordered the "Spaghetti the Works" because spaghetti is my baseline test of any Italian restaurant. Mushrooms, sausage, meatballs, and meat sauce in a perfect combo of sweet and savory marinara was delicious. Add into that the warm homemade garlic rolls and the tangy vinaigrette dressing on the Mediterranean salad and I'm calling it my new favorite Italian restaurant in Overland Park. My husband had the lasagna which is made with beef not pork, which was great for his allergies.
google avatar

Mackenzie C.

Yelp
Chicken Florentine was exactly how I'd hoped! Creamy, tender chicken. Chefs kiss! If you're going around dinner time, you may have to wait but not too long! While we were waiting (maybe 15 min), a man waiting beside us was incredibly disrespectful to the owner. She handled the situation with grace and respect. The interaction made me respect her hard work put into the amazing restaurant even more.

Yelp
We have eaten at Viona's 3 times the past week. Each meal our food & service exceeded our previous visit! The Italian meals are so fresh & authentic. The menu is extensive & something for everyone!! We will be back....again & again!!

Yelp
Still the very best in every way! Continued success! I had the Shrimp Fettuccine. Fresh pasta and that sublime sauce that's not heavy. Huge shrimp were perfectly cooked. For dessert, the Limoncello Cake. It's out of this world. Perhaps my favorite dessert in the world!

Yelp
Went there today for lunch. A very quaint, somewhat small, place. However, felt like we were in a real Italian restaurant, just had the feeling and ambience. Have to comment that they have white table clothes on every table and change them out after each use. The meal included a small salad. Lots of choice on dressing. In addition, they brought over some soft, warm buns and flavored oil for dipping. I really enjoyed the bread, my wife just thought it was okay. Had to resist eating all the bread so I had some left for sopping up the sauce in my main dish. We had the Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Picatta, both were served on pasta. Very good size servings for a lunch portion. We found both of these dishes excellent. Very flavorful and tender. Glad I had saved some bread, although I am sure they would have brought me some more if I asked. Used the bread to sop up the wonderful tomato sauce. Looking to try a new place, I would strongly recommend giving Viona's a try. If asked, I would give them one suggestion. With our dishes we were asked if we wanted some parmesan. We did, and they brough over a bowl and spooned some on our dishes. I would have preferred some ground fresh at the table. Almost forgot to get a picture of our food when it was served, so you may notice that some has already been eaten.

Yelp
The best pasta I have had in a while. The sauce on the baked penne is to die for!! The cocktails were just ok

Sheila O.

Yelp
Did take out for a large group. Was worried about the quality of the pasta in take out containers. Everything was wonderful. Still warm when arriving at home. They did a great job labeling our gluten free choices. Some of the items were in metal to-go containers and a couple were in plastic ones. I would prefer all metal but the plastic was recyclable. Everything was great. Very happy with the results. Food was excellent with great portions. thank you!

Yelp
Ordered the chef's favorite to be delivered to my hotel via the restaurant website. The restaurant has a partnership with Door Dash, so the delivery is managed through them. When ordering on the site, it will give you an estimated delivery time, which seems to include both the cooking time and the delivery time. Unfortunately, I get the impression that Door Dash drivers don't realize this because I called the restaurant shortly after the time my food was supposed to be delivered to inquire about the status of my food, and the restaurant staff said that the food had been ready for a while, but they were waiting for the driver to pick up the food. While on the phone, the driver walked in, which seems to support my hypothesis. The dish itself was okay. It may have been better hot and fresh, but it was also a little salty for me. Given this single warm entree, I'd say this is a 4-star restaurant, but please be mindful of all the issues noted above. On the other hand, the delivery service (I'm looking at you, Door Dash) gets 2 stars - primarily because my food did make it all the way to my hotel door and the driver had somehow managed to disappear by the time I opened my door. Just how I like my contactless deliveries!

Yelp
A fine dining experience. The service matched the ambiance. The food is elegant and delicious.

Yelp
Viona's is my go-to place Italian food in my area. I've always done carry out because of the ease of ordering online, whether through the Yelp app or the restaurant's website. I've tried a variety of dishes and have enjoyed every single one of them. They have everything you would imagine an Italian restaurant would have, some with an interesting twist. I've been hooked on the chocolate mousse cake, so I haven't tried any other desserts. I get the cake just about every time I order carry out. I definite recommend Viona's to anyone looking for a consistent place that serves such deliciousness with pride. The restaurant looks very classy and cute as well. I'll have to dine in at some point, but for now the convenience of online take out and delivery is hard to beat!

Yelp
It's a cozy room with a patio. The menu is full of familiar dishes. You shouldn't have any issues finding something you'll enjoy. Service is polite and happy to help, though it can be slow at times.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from Viona's last night, after my fully vaccinated parents went there with some friends and gave a very positive report. Firstly, I'll say the delivery was great. Always kind of a crapshoot with delivery services but all the food I got was nice and hot, and crispy when appropriate! I'm a nut for calamari. I knew it was a risk with delivery but this was VERY good. Very crispy and not at all greasy after the delivery. It was served with the marinara sauce. It just needed a pinch of salt and I prefer a more interesting sauce with calamari but as I said, very good and would order again. The tortellini alla panna is definitely something I would order again. It's very similar to a dish I make at home sometimes and it's nice to know there's an option for it nearby when I want it but don't want to cook. It also needed a pinch of salt. It looks a little dry here after sitting but a quick stir had all the creaminess you'd like. Rolls, which are typically a mention on these reviews, did come with the meal. I enjoyed them but they were definitely better when dipped in sauce. Last but not least, the tiramisu is SO good. I'd go back just for that! So overall I was very happy with my meal and I will definitely order from there again!

Yelp
I have not been here before. Just purchased a pizza, which I thought was great. The young lady at the front was fast to greet and very friendly. Food was prepared in a timely manner. The rest of the menu looks great. Will be back.

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. One of my fave spots in downtown OP to get a quick lunch. The service here is awesome. I love everything I have eaten here, including the salads! My fave thing to order is the chicken parmigiana, it is served with spaghetti, so has plenty to fill you up, and leftovers for me. The atmosphere is casual and lots of bright natural light from the big window walls in the front. I would def bring anyone here to enjoy some simple, tasty, and affordable Italian food.

Yelp
Viona's was recommended to me by a friend, and I was blown away by this spot! Great little restaurant in downtown OP in the same building as Brew Lab. When I went, they weren't that busy. Staff was friendly and efficient. Restaurant itself was clean. The decor and ambiance are definitely on the simple side for sure. The food was amazing. We have some great Italian spots in KC and specifically in JoCo, but this is one of my new favorites for sure. Everything tastes fresh and made in house, although if it isn't, it seems well sourced. I'd recommend this place if you are looking for a new Italian spot and are anywhere near OP.

Yelp
It's my understanding that Viola's is an Italian place run by non-Italians. That's fine by me - but it might explain some of the misses I perceived. The food was ok, nothing special, but not bad. Fresh basil and oregano would elevate the dishes a good bit as they came across as lacking much flavor. The ambient noise level was very high to a degree that I couldn't have a conversation with my friends, so I suggest eating outside if possible.
