The 20 Best Restaurants In West Philly

"With South Indian and Indo-Chinese choices on the menu, your spread at Virasat Haveli can be filled with everything from crispy dosas to pan-seared chicken momo dumplings. Like most Indian restaurants in the city, there’s a lengthy vegetarian menu full of well-spiced cheese cooked in a creamy tomato sauce or chana masala with tender chickpeas in an onion paste. The streamers hanging from the ceiling and rainbow-striped walls make us feel like we’re at the best-smelling New Year’s Eve party of our lives." - candis mclean

The 10 Best Indian Restaurants In Philadelphia

"Like most Indian restaurants in the city, this excellent West Philly spot has a lengthy vegetarian menu full of dishes like well-spiced paneer in a creamy tomato sauce or chana masala with notably tender chickpeas. But there are also South Indian and Indo-Chinese choices on the menu. Fill your table with food from all of the above categories—particularly the crispy dosas and pan-seared chicken momos. And then admire the streamers hanging from the ceiling and rainbow-striped walls, both of which make you feel like you're at a New Year’s Eve party." - candis mclean

Google
Incredible Indian food here and I would easily come back the next time I’m in Philly. I tried a whole bunch of items from the dosa to the fish tikka masala to the malai kofta. All excellent! I don’t even eat cooked salmon, but it was great in the tikka masala. Definitely try the mango lassi too. So refreshing and tasty! This is a spot you don’t want to miss! Also, they were great about bringing out more waters and as an FYI, they take a student discount.

Google
Never had bad Indian food but this was not it. I got the butter chicken, dark meat, with garlic naan bread. My chicken was so dry and tasteless…Do you know how hard it is to dry out a chicken thigh?? Just disappointing. The garlic naan was excellent tho, one star for that.

Google
Absolutely incredible and authentic Indian food! The Gobi Manchurian was hands down the best I’ve ever had—perfectly crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of spice. The Butter Chicken was rich and creamy, the Malai Kofta was melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the Orange Kulfi was such a unique and refreshing treat to end the meal. Amazing flavors, great portions, and fantastic service. Will definitely be coming back!

Google
We had the chicken tikka, vegetable biryani, and garlic naan and they were divine!

Google
One of the best place to visit in the town . We order around 300 dollors of food , all the food dishes came out so delicious. If anyone looking for the Nepali and Indian food , Do visit virasat haveli. Good Food - Good service- good hospitality

Google
I don’t know whether they served me spiced water or curry! Ordered Mango Lassis and never received them but they charged me for them! When I brought the issue up, the waiter said “Here, you can take these (hands me two mango lassis to take when I am about the leave the restaurant) with you. I can’t refund you any money.” Ridiculous! The food was so tasteless and bland that didn’t eat one of the dishes. Only one individual served, took orders, was the manager (I asked to speak to one after being wrongly charged). I am not sure what’s going here but I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST visiting this restaurant to avoid getting CHEATED!!!

We went at the end of a really long day and we were extremely hungry! The food arrived really fast. Some hits some misses. The Gobi Manchurian was amazing. The Samosa chat was mid… The bhindi masala was a little under seasoned and gummy. The chana masala was average. Overall, we were impressed with the speed of service. The ambience was quite pleasant. There was plenty of street parking… Will we go back ?unlikely… But were we happy with the what we got the first time? it wasn’t bad…

Google
It’s kind of seems fusion style food. The ambiance is great. Totally Punjabi interior with too many options to pick from. We didn’t hate the food but I think we were expecting authentic food while everything seems to have some twist to it. Gur chai didn’t had any jaegary taste, the momos was more like marinated momos, Pappi chat have literally have Papdi only. There was scarce of everything else in it, like dahi, onion, tomatoes etc. paneer tikka tasted more steamy than grilled. But it wasn’t bad either.

Yelp
This place had the best Chicken biryani and veg pastries in Philadelphia. The service was quick and the food was very flavorful and authentic! The portion size was huge and price was decent as well. Definitely going back to this amazing indian place

Yelp
Came on a Tuesday night after voting and work. Ambiance was nice, clean and quiet. Service was quick, easy and pleasant. Waiter was kind to ask us about spice preferences. We got the chili paneer, veg pakora, masala dosa, chicken korma, onion naan and potato stuffed naan. The masala dosa came with potatoes and three different sauces. Everything came out fresh, hot and delicious. Definitely would recommend the masala dosa and chicken korma. Will come back again to try more!

Yelp
Good food and very kind service for a low price. I came here with friends and we ordered 3 curries and a ton of garlic naan. We left very full and satisfied and were shocked by how low our bill was! The daal maknhi was too salty the first time and we asked them if they could fix it, and by the second time it was much better. They also gave us a complimentary order of garlic naan and were very attentive with clearing dishes, refilling water, and asking if we needed more rice. We will definitely be back!

Anika A.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite west philly eats! Great food. The gobi Manchurian and the curries were great. Service is kind, too. They noticed we were waiting to break our fast and kindly turned off the music when we broke our fast.

Yelp
I'd be weary of this place. Looks like a lot of bot reviews. If you keep scrolling through all the reviews you'll notice similar photos with different names. Some reviews with "bought" images appear several times. I mean. Can we really even trust Yelp anymore?? It's had its day in the sun. It's time to permanently shut down Yelp accounts.

Yelp
I've been craving Indian food for a while now and this place really hit the spot! For two, we got the kashimiri naan, chicken saag, and maysoor dosa which was too much for us to finish even though we were hungry. I've never tried kashimiri naan, so I didn't know what to expect. It was nutty and slightly sweet which was interesting. The edges were a bit more burnt than what I would've liked it, but other than that, it was delicious! I love saag and usually order the paneer saag whenever I go to Indian restaurants, but the chicken one was great! The chicken was soft and tender, the saag was so creamy and paired nicely with the spices-infused rice. Of the Indian restaurants I've been to, not many have dosa, so I had to seize the opportunity to order one. The maysoor dosa was soooo crispy and was stuffed with potatoes and onion. I wished there was more chutney to go with it though since the amount of chutney was not enough in my opinion. I would love to come back and try their other dishes soon! :)

Yelp
Horrible food! Badly cooked. Seemed uncooked and stale. One of the dishes super spicy. Avoid this place.

Yelp
Don't skip this unassuming spot. It's on Market and you might miss it but you shouldn't. Their menu is filled with good things..Indian and Pakistani and it was hard to choose. They have lots of choices of vegetarian and meat items (all halal) so there is something for everyone. We started with the samosa chaat. This was excellent! We devoured it within seconds. I ordered the aloo gobhi.. potatoes, cauliflower with ginger, garlic and onion. Delicious! Filled with flavor with a rich and creamy sauce. The naan was super fresh and everything came to our table quickly and efficiently. All of our orders were stand out and the service was great! Fast and kind! I have ordered from here twice without ever having gone in and the food had always been so good. Going to the actual restaurant did not disappoint and this will be my new Indian food spot from here on out.

Yelp
When I saw this spot was coming to West Philly, I couldn't wait to try it out. I figured right after lunch was a good time to go so I wouldn't have to deal with a crazy crowd, and waiting a few weeks til things settled. The restaurant is pretty beautiful and traditional. There were so many menu options, I didn't know where to start so I went with samosas, and. Chana Masala to start since I'm used to those. I also ordered the lamb curry, the chili fish, and a mango lassi. The samosas we're a tad small but very packed with flavor. Nice crisp on the outside with all the spices and potatoes softy on the inside. The Chana Masala portions were very nice and presented so beautiful. I almost didn't want to touch it lol. The chili fish was surprisingly my fave. The lamb curry was solid, but the chili fish was kickin in a great way. I was so stuffed by the end that I remembered to take pics when it was too late lol next time!

Yelp
Chicken 65, samosa chaat, gobi manchurian. Chefs kiss! Haveli is my go-to spot in the city, and I've enjoyed every single experience I've had here thus far. This was my first time trying samosa chaat, and it's fair to say that I am hooked. However, I have to dock one star off of my rating because I don't think the food is very consistent. The gobi manchurian and masala drink (not pictured) tasted very different from the last time I came here--about 2 months ago. The gobi this time around didn't taste as good as the last time which was a big let down since I really hyped up the dish to my dining partners. Regardless, I'm still a big fan of the restaurant, and I plan on coming back very soon! Particularly for the samosa chaat!

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Surprised I haven't been here or heard more about it. I came here for a weekend lunch with a couple of friends. The place was pretty quiet and we were seated right away. Papri Chaat - My friend described these as "Indian Nachos". It was delicious and tasted like chips with sauce, beans, and spices. Garlic Naan - You can never go wrong with ordering these Tandoori Chicken - The chicken was a little dry but liked the pickled onions it came with Lamb Rogan Josh & Lamb Korma - Both delicious and flavorful. The meat was nice and tender. We also shared a cheese ball dessert. I found it overly sweet and didn't like the consistency. Overall, the food was delicious and I highly recommend this spot for Indian food!
google avatar

Yelp
Portion sizes don't look like much BUT the food is so filling. We got the butter chicken and chana masala, both of which came with rice. Very delicious and hearty meal! Also need to give a HUGE shoutout to the staff! When my friend left his credit card on the table by accident, the server chased us down half a street to give it back to us. Very honest people - definitely support the business and get some great food while you're at it :)

Yelp
I would drive by this place often and wondered how it was. It opened during the pandemic, which I thought it was risky. Well, we finally tried today for the Father's Day lunch. It did not disappoint! The service was very good, and the food was so delicious. I am happy a very good Indian restaurant came in to West Philly. We ordered masala chai (very nice flavour of spices), mango lassi, samosa chaat, chicken momo, masala dosa, malai kofta, and goat curry. Everything was so good. It is difficult to eat good dosa, but this place filled my dosa craving! I got all the photos except for malai kofta, and goat curry because I got too preoccupied eating Highly recommend this place! You know that this place is good when 90% of their customers are South Asian

Yelp
Move over people! There's a new sheriff in town. I am so glad we decided to get takeout from this place. Our usual go to Indian places are Thanal and Amma's. But decided to try Haveli. The menu is quite extensive and we wanted to try everything. Definitely ordered for more than 2 meals- Amritsari fish -9/10, Malai Tikka - 9.5/10, chicken Momos- 5/10, Tawa chicken - 8/10 and dum biryani - 7.5/ 10 Packaging was 10/10. Can't wait to try everything from this restaurant.

Yelp
One of the the best Indian/Pakistani restaurants in Philly. I came here with a medium-sized group for dinner, and managed to try a lot of the different dishes. For the appetizer, we had the Chicken 65 and the Papri Chaat. Both dishes were really good, but the Papri Chaat was my favorite part of the meal. It just had such a diverse flavor profile that I always love from chaat, and the potatoes and wafers gave it such a nice crispy texture. I would definitely come back just for the Papri Chaat. For entrees, we had the chicken tikka masala, the goat saag, the lamb curry, and the malai kofta, together with some garlic naan. Again, everything was so rich and delicious (which went perfectly with the garlic naan), but my favorite entree was the lamb curry. I'm just a sucker for most lamb dishes. The mango lassi was also phenomenal, and was a great way to top the meal. On top of the delicious food, this place is also a BYOB place. Must try here in Philly, especially for college students trying to have a good time.

Yelp
One of the best if not the best Indian place in university city. There's usually open seating that works for big groups. Service is good but the food does come out a bit slow. However I can't complain too much because their dishes have so much flavor. Their curries are thick and full of flavor. Their menu is expansive so you can find most things you're craving. The lamb biryani was more flavorful the first time we went but overall great dining experience and my go to for Indian.
google avatar

Christian C.

Yelp
Came with a friend and we ordered the chicken biryani, butter chicken, garlic naan, and Kashmiri naan. Overall a solid and filling meal - had to take leftovers. The Kashmiri naan was sweet - would recommend. Chicken in the chicken biryani got a bit dry during the meal.
google avatar

Aslam M.

Yelp
Biryani - mutton and chicken were amazing. Prices are mostly reasonable. Ambience and decor decent too. The Dosa and chicken tikka masala could be better. Staff is good.
google avatar

Chandler R.

Yelp
Was craving Indian late night and ordered from this restaurant and they exceeded my expectations. I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan, I was nervous it would be cold or not fresh because I ordered an hour before closing but the food arrived hot and fresh! The flavors take me back to my childhood when my Indian neighbor would bring over home cooked meals. The butter chicken is smooth and rich but not too hearty, and it's not spicy. The smell of the garlic naan I wish I could bottle and sell. I personally feel like for $16 the portion of the chicken could be a bit better, but that's my only kind of complaint. Will definitely order again.
google avatar

Matthew D.

Yelp
I brought my friends who were visiting from out of town to Virasat. The food was quite good! We ordered the samosas (6/10), gobi manchurian (9/10), tandoori chicken (7/10), chiken tikka masala (7/10), and channa masala (6/10). Samosas were good but served on a cold plate, and the samosas got cold quite quickly. The gobi manchurian was my favorite dish BY FAR -- I think it's a must get at this restaurant as the cauliflower and the sauce worked really well together, and even better with the rice. The Chicken tikka masala and channa masala are good, but nothing special. The tandoori chicken had really good toppings and flavor, but they were a bit dry unfortunately. Definitely the best indian cuisine in university city, although it may be a slightly longer trip than places such as New Delhi and Ekta.
google avatar

Bri K.

Yelp
This place is BANGIN! We ordered takeout and got the lamb biriyani, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, naan, roti, and samosas. Everything was seasoned to perfection and the samosas are jumbo! The lamb biriyani though, so flavorful, the lamb is tender and the rice had a nice kick to it, make sure to douse it with raita, yummmm. I am so happy and satisfied this place is amazing. Kudos to the chef!
google avatar

Komal K.

Yelp
I've only ordered delivery from here so this review is strictly for takeout/ delivery. Food is pretty good. Rates are amazing. It's much more economical than getting Indian food from Amma's or Thanal's. Spices are a bit on the lower side even after asking for spicy so make sure you ask for Indian spicy if you like your food like I do. You can get soooo much food for a $50. Portions are very good. Definitely a place that I will try again.
google avatar

Max H.

Yelp
The food here was outstanding. Honestly it's draining to think about what to say after such a good meal, the moon looks like we're in another planet right now. I really just wanna go home and lay down it was that delicious and I ate so much that I am very fully satisfied. Time to go home and listen to Erykah Badu orange moon and vibe TF out
google avatar

Mugdha R.

Yelp
I ordered the chicken tikka masala - it was the worst I ever had in my life! The chicken meat wasn't fresh at all! Probably frozen, had to toss it away! Goat Dum Biryani- it was just rice and meat! No flavors to qualify as a biryani! Also I could taste a little MSG in the biryani rice! Waste of money! And Sunday afternoon lunch destroyed!
google avatar

Tameka S.

Yelp
It's rare that I give a 5 star restaurant review but this place was on point. Let's talk... I ordered the lamb curry, that HUGE crepe in front called masala dosa and a mango lassi ( which didn't make an appearance in this photo because I drank it before the meal arrived). The Lamb Curry: Ordering lamb dishes is always a hit or miss for me because many lamb dishes I've tried were cheap cuts of mostly fat. This dish was definitely a hit. The lamb was sooo tender and lean. The curry sauce was aromatic and well seasoned. The server even asked me my preference of spice level and it was perfectly mild. So filling that the other half was to go. Masala Dosa: This big ol' crepe was way beyond my expectations. I wanted to try something new and this thing could feed 20. It's was light and crispy and the center was filled with potatoes and lentils. Chile...I did even make it to the center of the dosa. The rest was placed in a to go box. Mango Lassi: I love this drink and they did not disappoint. It was cold, creamy, with hints of cardamom and fresh mangoes and just the right amount of sweetness. It was garnished with tiny pieces of mango. It's been a while since I've been to a really good Indian restaurant. I was contemplating going to Thanal but this restaurant right here got my business.

Yelp
One of those places I'm kicking myself for not trying sooner - not that it's been open long, but I live a block away and pass by it EVERY time I leave my house and head into work, or anywhere east. Then one night the munchy gods decided to cut me a break by making me too tired to cook a late dinner. I just stepped outta my house with Crown Fried Chicken dreams, and saw that Haveli Virasat was open. "I haven't had Indian in a while" I thought while I ordered more than any single person should try to eat. Here's some descriptions for those of you who aren't quite as familiar with my favorites: Saag paneer: creamy blended spinach with cheese cubes Papri chaat: kind of a multi layer snack of chickpeas, potatoes, crispy wafers of 2 kinds, and lot of chutneys Samosas: cooked potatoes, peas, and spices wrapped in a wheat pastry then fried Lamb curry: lamb curry They hit it out of the park so hard I had to order again the next day. Got their garlic and bullet naans, along with their chicken tikka masala, whose sauce was gloriously buttery. In the two weeks leading up to writing this review, I think I've ordered various snacks and little dishes from here at least five times. It's that good. A welcome addition to West Philly, and now I'm fighting the urge to get my doctor to have a conversation with me about my blood sugar.

Yelp
Happened on Haveli Virasat when searching for a convenient spot, within walking distance of University City, to sit and lunch late on a Saturday afternoon. Thrilled to have found this stupendous Indian (north and south) and Pakistani eatery, with indoor and outdoor tables on Market. I went with lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala (i.e. the gringo special). Everything, including the garlic naan, roti, and mango lassi, was as good as I've had in Philly. Next time, though, I'll get a little more adventurous with my order. Some of the tandoor and veggie options look excellent. Thanks and kudos to the purveyors! Great food. Great experience!
google avatar

Rosemary D.

Yelp
We ordered samosa, garlic naan, chicken curry, and chicken Tikka masala. The food is authentic and delicious, service is over the top, and the price is pretty reasonable. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Great Indian food in West Philly. It was brought out quickly, and it was probably the best Indian food I've had. Granted I haven't had a ton of Indian food in my time, but this place was fantastic. I strongly recommend this one.

Yelp
We order the food first time ! One was goat Roganjosh and chicken tikka masala! Goat looks old and over cooked no taste ! Instead of chicken tikka masala they gave us butter chicken! Literally we have to trash the food ! I called them right back when I saw the food when we got home he offered us discount for next time! We don't want any discount we just want good food ! We gonna try to avoid this place now hopefully they can get better with there food! Am Indian/Punjabi , I kwon how Punjabi food should taste!!

Yelp
Mouth watering Indian food and a new addition to Indian restaurants around University city. Went for a dine in as the ambience of the restaurant looked interesting on yelp. The restaurant is quite spacious, tables are spaced out to maintain COVID protocols. There are few parking spot in front and around the restaurant. Now coming to the food, of all we tried, malai kofta was the best! Juicy, tender and flavorful pieces of kabab with just the right amount of malai. When it was served on the sizzling iron skillet, honestly, it was hard to wait for anything else! Masala dosa was okay and not ideal. The dosa was very thin almost like a crepe rather than having a real texture of a dosa. Potato mix, Chutney and sambar took care of the rest. For a change, we thought of trying Indo Chinese, so ordered chilli chicken and noodles. A person who is from India, will know how a street noodles taste and to our surprise the hakka noodles was 90% that. Chilli chicken came with the exact mix of spice, kick, thin coat, crisp and tang. And on top of it, when comes on iron skillet, it adds a perfect smokiness. Complete worth of money and a must visit.
google avatar

Nikki B.

Yelp
So confused by the good reviews for this place. Worst Indian food I've ever had. The chicken saag I ordered had no flavor of spice. Literally tasted like mashed up spinach. The garlic naan wasn't cooked all the way and also wasn't flavorful. Do not recommend.
google avatar

LaDonna M.

Yelp
Wow-- food here is absolutely incredible Ordered late on Friday for pick up. Yelp's hours were incorrect but they took my order anyways and I'm so grateful. Got samosas, dosa, lamb biryani, chicken 65, and fried fish. I also added a mango lassi. Everything was hot, delicious, and in big portions. I'll be happily eating leftovers for a while So happy I decided to try this and maybe wait to go back. Not sure if they do catering but I'm definitely going to convince my office to order from here in the near future
google avatar

Isabella S.

Yelp
Delicious! What a hidden gem! I enjoyed the lamb biriyani and the veg pakora. I'm gluten free, and they had plenty of options.
google avatar

Angie L.

Yelp
really, really good. curries are pretty small portions (imagine a home corelle bowl and that's it) but they taste great so I'd order a few apps. there's this one app that's like a mountain of crispy chips covered with refreshing sauces that I have not had elsewhere. tandoori chicken and chicken 65 delicious. the dosa is massive and you should really only dip it in the sauce that comes in the little cup, not the one on the plate cause that one tastes like watery tomato. i will say they are a bit disorganized and the food will come in whatever order it does so just chill out and enjoy - not for a meal in hurry. we came as a group of 6 and total cost per person (everything included) was only $21.

Dee L.

Yelp
I forgot to post photos that I took of the food where it belongs: IN THE TRASH! This manchurian and hakka noodles (pictured here) was INEDIBLE, cooked with KETCHUP and REUSED, STALE, and smelly, oil. The noodles were dry. And guess what the price was $11.99 and $12.99. I've had higher quality street food than this restaurant priced so high for BAD FOOD and CHEAP INGREDIENTS. I posted my review the other day but forgot to attach pictures.

Meghna C.

Yelp
I'm writing this review after my fourth time at Virasat Haveli. As usual, we were not disappointed. We got the papdi chaat, pani puri, onion pakora, navaratnan kurma, achari ghost, egg biryani, veg Hakka noodles, and gulab jamun. Every. single. item. was delicious! I was surprised the Chaat was so good because restaurants in America often fail to recapture the street food flavor and experience, but they pulled it off. The presentation was also very nice, like the papdi chaat mountain or the banana leaf gulab jamun bowls. Finally, the ambience is sweet and thoughtful, from the upside down umbrellas to the matka lamp shade. It's a wonderful restaurant to take your family to on a lazy Sunday. Five stars!
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
Such yummy, authentic Indian food! (Ditto'd by my South Indian friend as well :)) we also got a rich, creamy, and sweet mango lassi that was the perfect end to a great meal. Loved the decor inside as well!

Yelp
This place is a new find for me. We live too far away for delivery so picked up. The DAL - TADKA was the best I have had in Philadelphia. The other dishes were great also so just order what appeals to you! Their website has great photos. We called in our order without no problem. Nice to have this place here especially since Sitar closed.
google avatar

Eden S.

Yelp
Love this place! I have long been waiting to find a good Indian place in Philly...folks look no more! This is it--the food and presentation are amazing. Flavors are to die for. You will leave happy.
google avatar

Andres V.

Yelp
I ordered from here and came to pick up my foo on a Saturday night. And it was kind of a hot mess. I waited 50 minutes for an order that was supposed to be ready when I. Got there. There wasn't enough workers. And the waiters were all stressed and didn't know what was going on. I think the bus boy was helping too. Don't come here

Alex D.

Yelp
Came all the way out here from south Philly because the website prominently says they have a lunch buffet only to find that they don't... it's even on the sign on the store. Offer it or change the advertising

Yelp
Our first time dining here and can I say that the food is out of this world! Every single item we ordered was phenomenal and tasted beyond authentic. We ordered the papdi chaat (the best I've ever had), alloo tikki chaat, daal makhni, dum chicken biryani, Lahori charga, mango lassi, and naan. Every single item is a 10/10. Portions are amazing, we definitely had enough left overs for a few lunches during the week. Am totally looking forward to returning and trying their indo-Chinese and South Indian dishes! They offer indoor dining, but during our time, they had a constant flurry of take-out pick ups!

Yelp
After recently being disappointed with Kabobeesh and Saad (eateries I've gone for years), I was kind of apprehensive to try something new. But to my surprise, Virasat surely delivered! So much so that I ordered from there three times in less than two weeks (please don't judge me). Their food is just THAT good! The first time I ordered, it was for dinner. They gave us two boxes of mini rasgollas, complimentary. The laccha parathas I ordered reminded me of the paratha my mom's Punjabi friend used to make when I was a kid. The tandoori chicken, dal makhni, and seekh kabobs were superb! We really needed a Halal Desi restaurant in this neighborhood and I'm glad they're here! PS: I have no pictures to upload because I inhaled my food and gave myself a food coma

Yelp
So Philly folks in the know should know that West Philly/U City has the most authentic Indian food places in town. I've ordered in from here a few times now and I think there's a new contender for the best Indian place around. First off these guys have a large menu. Normally that worries me but surprisingly multiple things I've tried have been very good! It's definitely more towards the North Indian side but they have some South Indian and Indo Chinese (!!) dishes too. The chicken tikka masala is a bit on the creamy side but the chicken pieces were actual chicken tikka (unlike some other restaurants which skimp on this!) and were cooked perfectly. Delicious. The Chicken kadai is bone in and a bit oily - but reminds me of how these dishes are done in Pakistani style restaurants. Which is to say the masalas here were perfect. And the chicken curry has so far been my favourite - perfect in every way really. The chicken momos were decent as well (and great to see as not many places even offer this!). And coming to some of the kebabs... The Tandoori Chicken seasoning here is legit. The kind you would get in any good restaurant back in Delhi! I haven't had Tandoori chicken with such good seasoning anywhere in the US so far. The catch and something easily solvable was that they sell the whole chicken - which means that cooking it just right is a bit tricky. The chicken I got was 95% done but there were some small spots which could have been cooked more. That being said the rest of it was cooked perfectly and it wasn't too dry at all. Offering half sizes could be a good option in the future! Best of all - the Achari chicken kebab. Now I eye-roll when I see Achari (read: pickles) on menus cause they are usually very weak. The one here is outstanding. You get the achar flavour they went for with the chicken and I'd highly recommend that with whatever else you order. This is the real deal if you're looking for an excellent Indian restaurant, with great pricing, portions size and most importantly - taste. PS. If the owners read this - please offer butter chicken at some point? With your dishes so far, I have high hopes that you'd be able to do this dish true justice and not just make it sickeningly sweet unlike most restaurants in the country!

Yelp
Amazing food, great service and beautiful decor! I love that they serve food in earthen clay pots which literally enhances the quality of the food!

Yelp
Ordered twice from here - First time, i ordered chole bhature and achari chicken both knocked my socks off. Authentic indian flavors Second time, I ordered goat dum biryani and egg prantha. The biryani was okay but the egg prantha was undercooked. This place seems to have a lot of potential hopefully they can take care of these small things.

Yelp
After getting lamb biryani at 5ish places in philly, this is definitely my favorite one. Huge portions and great price and exquisite use of whole spices. Perfectly flavored and could not be better. The naan is also pretty decent.

Yelp
Second time here and I loved the food as well as how chill the staff are (they let us sit here for a while after we finished our food).
