Today, Saturday, December 13th, I went to eat lunch with my daughter at Virgil Cafe and had a horrible experience. They don't have proper hygiene protocols. The young woman who prepares the drinks, was serving a drink and noticed it was too thick. She poured it into another glass, and then put what was left in the first glass into the palm of her hand. She brought it to her mouth, and licked it. After that, she didn't wash her hands and finished preparing the drink, covered it, and the waitress took it to the customer. She then continued preparing the other drinks that the customers had ordered. After that, I didn't feel comfortable enjoying my meal. I went to the counter and told her what I had seen, and she apologized. I told her that what she was doing wasn't right because if she was sick, she would infect the customers since it involved contact with her saliva. She said that because there were many customers and they had to work quickly, that's why she didn't wash her hands. She said she wouldn't charge me for the food, and I told her that wasn't the point; it was her lack of respect for the customers. She got upset and said there was no point in talking about it. So I told her I wanted to speak with the manager, and she said she was the manager and the owner. She should be setting an example for her employees. I believe we deserve respect. I asked for the bill, my daughter paid, and we left the restaurant.
