Taiwanese Fried Chicken Is Made for Eating on the Go  - Eater

"I feel lucky that yan su ji made its way to the States, where it’s often referred to as Taiwanese popcorn chicken and is a common shareable appetizer at Taiwanese restaurants. But I still prefer mine on the go, and when the mood strikes, I head to Vivi Bubble Tea, a national chain that serves a limited menu of snacks, including yan su ji." - Stephanie Wu

i ordered a medium strawberry slush with tapioca and it was $6.37 tax included. the cups are really small but the service and taste was wonderful. the cashier and the person who made my drink were really nice and sweet! it’s a shame their cups are so small especially for the price because it’s becoming a favorite spot now

Google
Ordered 1 large Taro Creme Brûlée with Boba ($5.75 + $1 for large + $0.75 for Boba) with tax added up to $8.39. The Taro Creme Brûlée has the regular milk tea but has REAL taro smeared the side of the cup so that you get the mixture of the milk tea with taro bits. The bobas are not great though; tasted a bit stale. Also disappointed that their Creme Brûlée tea does not have the crispy crust top like other boba tea place, such as Taipei cafe. Thus the 4 stars on the food. The place is pretty cute but there is no air circulations. On a rainy day, it feels extra humid and warm inside the store.

Vivi Bubble Tea in Chicago downtown is a must-visit! The boba is consistently chewy and the flavors are delightful. The staff is friendly and the ambiance is trendy. Whether you're a bubble tea enthusiast or a newbie, Vivi won't disappoint. Highly recommended!

Google
The place was really cute and pretty and the staff was also very nice. They had a lot of choices for the drinks and ice cream. The pictures on the menu also correspond to the things I order which was really great! But there are problems with their drinks is that it looked better than how it tasted which was kind of sad and disappointing since it looked very nice and all. The second problem is that after drinking their drinks I didn't feel so well which made it drop from a four to a three star. Their milk teas was way to sweet and overpowering and made me want to throw it away after taking the first sip but I kept it cause it was expensive and I didn't want to waste money by throwing it away who h I regret so much afterwards since for the rest of the day I was left with a stomachache and bad mood. Not coming back here for sure.

Not the cleanest. Though I've only been here twice, both times had unkempt booths and sticky residue on the tables and the drink cups. On my first visit, I ordered one of their specials, Blue Galaxy tea. Very pretty and was okay in flavor, nothing too special. The second time around, I ordered Lactaid brown sugar milk tea. My boyfriend ordered brown sugar milk tea without pearls. They made his drink with tapioca, but they offered to remake it. Unfortunately, the drink was bad anyways. Each sip brought up a shot of straight brown sugar despite thorough mixing. While they have cute decoration and packaging, I won't be coming back here for bubble tea anytime soon. Still looking to try the macarons though.

Google
Lots of choices, cute place but you can't sit and enjoy your drink which is a bummer! Why are they always out of bubbles (extra fee) and macroons? We got the Mango Slush & Thai Tea Milk both with Jelly - they were ok. Nice packaging 👍

Google
I loved vivi bubble tea!! super cute inside and great location. there are many options but i went with the classic matcha blended with tapioca. personally i think the tapioca was so good. the workers were super sweet as well!!

Google
You can order directly from a machine up front and pick up your order within minutes! I got the strawberry tea with popping mango boba and regular sugar and it really hit the spot! Quite sweet but how I wanted it. Yum! Staff super kind too!

Yelp
Cute atmosphere, good selection of drinks. First time here, so I ordered my usual cookies and creme slush. You order at a kiosk and it automatically asks for tip, which is always a little off putting. Drink came out quick - a little bit watery and the boba didn't taste completely fresh. Fun environment at least!

Yelp
Cosy little place with boba teas and slushies. Service is average.. but loved the bubble tea and mango slushie.

Yelp
Vivis has always been my one of my favorite boba places just because of the wide variety of menu items and super fair prices for the amount of tea you receive. This loop location was no different:) I got the taro milk tea 50% sweet and thought it was perfect. There were no chunks in my tea (which sometimes happen with taro tea specifically) and the boba itself was nice and chewy.

Yelp
700TH REVIEW ON YELP , wheee! 3.5 stars rounding down...ooof lol Saw this chain shop in NYC but was unable to make it so I was glad to have found one here in Chicago Extensive menu - 75% sweet tastes like 100$ Oolong Milk Tea -- this could've been my bad since I passed the 2hr recommended drinking frame but milk tea was lackluster in terms of taste and tea brew, the oolong milk tea also tasted instant and very watered down (had a hunch when drink was stirred vs shaken) Peach Oolong Tea - this was yummy and refreshing, I'd order this again but at 50% sweet since 75% sweet tastes like 100% sweet 50/50 on coming back

Yelp
A typical Vivi bubble tea shop. This was the one bubble tea shop close to me in the area. Im surprised there are still Vivi shops since most of the Vivi shops in NYC have since closed. There were plenty of seating and it had a good amount of college students when it hadn't open too long ago. They only do orders online and on their ordering device, which they have two of upon entry. Drinks took about 5 minutes as there was only one employee and business was doing pretty good. The drinks were what I expected. Nothing special and fulfilled my boba needs. Only wish the shop front was a little bigger so I'd actually have somewhere to stand and wait. Also would be nice to have the ordering devices inside the shop and not 3 feet away from the entrance. Tl:dr - typical Vivi shop that you'd expect

Yelp
I was so happy to randomly walk by this location the other day! I'm always on the search for new bubble tea places and this place looked so cute. When you walk inside you will be greeted by an automated kiosk screen thing to order. Even though there's a sign at the actual counter saying do not order, I saw several people go up there to order anyways, so I guess there are options to order with the screen or in-person. This store has a crazy amount of choices, it was almost overwhelming to decide but I finally decided on their classic drink, a Flaming Brown Sugar Milk Tea. I ordered the iced milk tea version regular size with regular sugar and less ice. It was delicious! Quick note: I did not notice until I had finished most of the drink that the side of the container says "mix all contents/shake for better taste"; by that time I had already drank it as is and it was good that way too. Just something to keep in mind for next time!

Yelp
Such a nice treat for an outing in the south loop. I don't think there are any other boba shops within walking distance from that area, so it's nice there's a good place there. The boba is good and they have a ton of flavors. Seating inside is ok but can get crowded on a busy day in the loop. It's also nice that it's by the barnes and noble so you can walk around in that mini mall area with your boba if it's hot out.

Yelp
Self-checkouts are easy to navigate and are very quick! The inside is very nicely decorated with various K-Pop posters and cup sleeves. Staff are very nice and very quick at preparing drinks! Would go back again!

Yelp
I visited Chicago the other day, and it was strangely hot so we were all in the mood for something cool. We found this place on Google maps. The drinks here are not good. We got Oreo crème brûlée and jasmine milk tea, both of which were TRASH. The Oreo was not mixed at all. It was just water and milk on the top, and a pound of ice cubes and cocoa powder on the bottom. The jasmine milk tea was even worse. It had a strange flavor that made it practically undrinkable. Maybe their other drinks are good, since there were other guests there and they did not show blatant revulsion, which saves this place from a one star review. Long story short, Chicago is disappointing in their bubble tea department.
google avatar

Angela A.

Yelp
Visited this bubble tea spot while visiting Chicago, not knowing what to expect. I ordered the strawberry cream float. It was really good! There location is very convenient for the surrounding residents. It was really quiet when I visited, but they had just opened for the day. I enjoyed!

Yelp
I ordered Fruit Tea Aloe, which is a mixed fruit flavor tea with orange, apple, ice jelly, chia seeds, and pineapple. It defiantly was a fruit tea with lots of fresh fruit. The apples floated to the top and It was hard to drink. I ended up opening the lid to eat the fruit. If you like toppings, this drink is for you. However, I thought that there was too much going on. Too many different flavors and textures. Even though all these toppings were included in the drink, you are required to add and pay for an additional topping when ordering through grubhub. I would not recommend ordering the fruit tea aloe drink. The second drink that I tried was the Mango Yakult. This drink was very sweet, and it tasted both like a mango drink with a hint of Yakut. This drink is something that I would order again. I added a mango popping boba, which was a good compliment to the drink.

Yelp
Visited Vivi on a hot sunny day, super fast service and very minimal interaction with staffs. There are couple of seats inside but it might get crowded in the afternoon. I got the kumquat lemon slushy with lychee jelly and it was so refreshing! The Oreo crème brûlée was alright, a bit on the sweeter side and it kinda off tastes like oreo milk.
google avatar

Isra A.

Yelp
As you can probably tell, this wasn't good lol. The taro tasted very powdery and the creme brûlée barely helped bring the drink together. This is supposed to be one of their special signature drinks so I expected way more but bleh, 2/10. There's always pretty basic service (mostly automated system) and limited seating, not worth checking out at all.

Yelp
This is my first time at this location. The tea shop was cleaned and organized. They took order by using the app. My husband and I shared the tea/milk/boba . I loved our tea. It was just right, not sweet. I definitely will be back when we are in town.
google avatar

Stacy H.

Yelp
Visited on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a medium Vivi Milk Tea with tapioca. I was extremely disappointed with the taste. First off, barely tasted the tea. Second, the tapioca balls were flavorless. Cooked well but extremely bland. Overall, just very very average - maybe less than. Maybe I'll come back to try a fruit tea instead. They were also very vague about what non-dairy ingredients they used when we asked, so not sure what that's about...I do appreciate they cater to vegans but kind of sus.
google avatar

Yelp
Lots of options, including a cute little boba shop connected to DuPaul University. Very colorful store with few seating available. I got taro creme brulee milk tea with coffee jelly with 30% sweet. I think it's too lovely still. My gf got Earl Grey milk tea with boba. The boba is overcooked, and it does not have a good texture. The staff is super rude and not friendly. I asked for a different lid because the boba was not sealed, and it spilled. The ladies on their phones made me feel unwanted and unwelcome to ask for a lid. I usually don't review negatively; I try to provide something positive the only positive thing is the cute decor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Go elsewhere.
google avatar

Sharon T.

Yelp
Liked the convenience of the kiosks to order. There were also a good amount of small tables and chairs for seating inside. I ordered the signature fruit tea at 25% sweet but is was waaaay too sweet for me. I asked if it was possible to adjust it and they refused which made me a bit sad since I couldn't finish my drink and had to get someone else to finish it for me.
google avatar

York P.

Yelp
Overall establishment is small, so expect to take your drink to-go. Walk-in and place your order on a kiosk, tip is automatically applied to order (but can be adjusted), place order, give it about 3-5 minutes, and your drink will be ready. My first time ordering bubble tea, grabbed the Matcha with Mango boba, and while I would have liked the matcha just a pinch sweeter, I would def order it again. Mango was delish.
google avatar

Shih Fa K.

Yelp
Ordered two bubble milk teas with red bean which was advertised in the window, and it was standard. I had a little trouble ordering the drink from the kiosk even though it was advertised in the window. When I asked about it, they offered to take the order in-person and explained that it could be added as an add-on to a standard milk tea. We ordered it, and it tasted a bit sweet for my taste, so I wished I would have requested something less sweet. The ambiance was hip.
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped in with my daughter and her friend for a quick boba tea fix. I ordered the taro creme brulee and was mostly happy with it. A little too much of the creme brulee bits in it, but I still drank it all. Next time I'll just get the plain taro with boba. Service was friendly and we had plenty of space to sit. After we drank our drinks, the girls grabbed some macaron on the way out. Because why not.
google avatar

Yelp
Literally so yummy and it's such a cute place i love it ! And they are pretty fast and nice :)

Yelp
This place is smack dab in downtown on state street. I went because I was already in the area, so it was convenient to just walk there. They still don't have dine in so had to order to go. They have a little kiosk to order your drinks so that ordering is contactless, which I appreciate. I got the taro milk tea and matcha milk tea. You have to pay extra for any toppings. Mango popping boba was bomb. Both drinks tasted so good. It was just a bummer we couldn't sit down and enjoy our drinks. Inside is pretty cute covered in pink decor. Staff was nice. It's an inconvenient location to get bubble tea, but I'd be totally down to go back on a warm day and walk around the area.

Neon Clib I.

Yelp
The staff was really welcoming, but the drink was just okay. Compared to when I would order from Vivi's just a few months ago, the quality has definitely gone down. The boba has always been undercooked, so nothings changed there. However, both the herbal and pudding jellies taste way more diluted. The size also looks smaller, but I'm not sure if it really is the case. Overall, the drinks have just gone down in quality

Yelp
Experience: Came across this place while walking around the area. Seems to be attached to the DePaul Downtown Campus. Parking: Oh man. It's literally downtown. Parking sucks. If you are commuter, this location would be ideal especially if you are a DePaul Student. There may be paid spots nearby, but when it comes to free spots, I have no idea. Worth: If you are by the area and need a bubble tea fix, this is good place to go to. It was good. Would visit again if I was nearby. Had the Green Milk Tea with Popping Mango and a hot Taro Milk Tea (As pictured)
google avatar

Dan W.

Yelp
I am familiar with this chain from Providence, Rhode Island. This one is just as good. Parking-wise, it's in the middle of downtown, so it's paid street parking. Inside, it's a whimsical, all-pink interior with cute characters everywhere and a really fun experience (I imagine especially for kids). They have very good drinks that are creative, tasty, and fairly priced. I love the oolong float, as well as their fruit teas, which have pieces of fruit in them. They always have a featured seasonal special, so their menu is constantly changing with new items. Service is relatively fast, and you can also order online for pick up, which is convenient. It's also in a nice area near DePaul University, and there are a lot of stores nearby because it's downtown.
google avatar

Ellei R.

Yelp
The store looks small from the outside but it has enough space for you to chill inside. They have many varieties of drinks and toppings. They milk tea I got was Oolong and I can really taste the tea even though the sweetness is 100% I love it.
google avatar

Just I.

Yelp
Ordered at kiosk but cannot customize drinks there. Walked to counter to ask if they could omit the jelly from my drink. With the noise and large plastic divider it made it hard to hear. Drink also was made with jelly despite requesting to omit this. Bobas are not sweet.

Yelp
Stopped by here for a quick drink before we wandered downtown Chicago. Their menu displayed a good variety of drinks and in addition to those displayed behind their bar, they also had laminated drinks displayed on their clear window by the register. We had ordered the jasmine float, jasmine green milk tea and a few macarons. Their drinks were very bland. It's like they don't add sweeteners and rely strictly on the milk or tea for flavor. Their boba consistency was also very hard and chewy. Like it was overcooked or they reused the boba from the previous day. We had gotten 3 different macaron flavors; taro, green apple, and raspberry. Personally as a macaron baker myself, I like to try other macarons to taste consistency and flavor. Their taro and green apple tasted nothing like the name. It tasted VERY sugary but the consistency was spot on. The shells aren't hollow and it was the right amount of crispy yet chewy as well. The only flavor that was good was their raspberry. I think that one only tasted like it did because of the raspberry jam. Otherwise, I felt like this place was okay. I'm a boba snob from LA where there are hundreds of different boba spot so this place was whatever to me.
google avatar

Madison S.

Yelp
I mean If you like straight up milk instead of boba then this is the place for you, because it's literally just milk.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
My go-to boba joint in the loop. Wide selection of drinks: teas, milk teas, fruit teas, hot drinks, cold drinks, freezes, etc. They actually have desserts as well, such as macarons and ice cream, but I've never had those - I always get some variety of cold bubble tea. The tapioca pearls are pretty consistently a good chewiness and sweetness at all times of the day (not an easy find). Yes, they're sweetened pearls, which is why I love this place. It would be wrong to say I've ever been disappointed with the tea, but it has been inconsistent a couple times as far as the sugar level (I always get half sugar, but the sweetness varies occasionally) and the taste of the tea. Even so, that doesn't stop me from regularly coming here again and again as it's the only good boba shop in the Loop as far as I'm concerned. :D Other notes: good service, decent amount of seating, located at the DePaul downtown campus building - same building as Barnes & Noble and East Asian Bistro (good place to eat before getting boba!).
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
You order on a touchscreen, which I always appreciate. My order was prepared quickly and with almost no interaction. It's not a great place to study; the music is loud (but they play older hits, always a plus) and the lighting is colorful, but it all suits the brand and vibe the store is going for. My Boba was great, I'd definitely go back with a friend.
google avatar

Yelp
I've walked by Vivi Bubble Tea a million times and yesterday I finally decided to give them a try. So happy I did! We ordered the honeydew milk tea with bubbles and Oreo crème brûlée milk tea with bubbles and both were so good!! Bubble tea can be either hit or miss and this place is definitely a hit! The honeydew had the perfect amount of sweetness but could have used a bit more honeydew flavor. The Oreo crème brûlée was unlike any other milk tea I've ever had. So flavorful and such a unique taste! The Oreo and smooth milk tea flavors are a perfect combo. Will definitely be ordering this again!

Yelp
Oh my...I did not want to be so harsh, but I did not expect bubble tea to be this bad. This is literally the only boba shop in the area (besides Chinatown), but they also serve up frozen yogurt. Pro tips: 1) Free tapioca comes with all drinks 2) Stampcards available but they only have 2 locations 3) Free wifi: password by the cashier 4) Card accepted for all purchases We ordered: 1) Roasted oolong milk tea with boba: 30% sugar, less ice // my my.... -100 no tea flavor at all! -1 boba was really mediocre... VERDICT: would NOT get again. 2) Fruit tea with aloe: 0% sugar, no ice // -1 I said no sugar...why does it taste sweeter than the roasted oolong with 30% sugar?! +1 aloe was good, but you can't screw that up... +1 tasted like a fruit tea! Overall, not impressed. This seems like a cute spot for high school kids to stop in and hang out, but I would not waste my macros on this location again.
google avatar

Hiba K.

Yelp
The location is right in the middle of downtown. Parking is really difficult to find, unless you pay for it. The tea itself pretty good. We tried the taro, which was really good, the taro brûlée, which was good but also interesting - it had chunks of creme brûlée, which added a different texture, and the blue galaxy, which was a lemon slushy (very sour). Overall the drinks were good, and I think we may have just ordered the wrong kinds, trying to order a little more different than usual. Next time, I might just order my go to bubble tea drinks instead. If I'm ever in the area, I'll stop by.
google avatar

Yelp
I finally had a chance to try one of their milk teas, and I was pleasantly surprised. I am already a fan of their fruit teas, but I wanted to see how their milk teas measure up against those in the city and from my home state of California. First off, I do think their milk teas are made from actual tea and not powder, which is my baseline necessity. Their milk teas are quite creamy, which not as much of the tea flavor I prefer, but still very good. Their boba is soft and chewy, and there is maximum customization with the level of ice and sugar you would like. Overall, it's a prime location in downtown, and there is a bunch of seating area inside the food court in the back door of the shop. You need the boba shop key in order to use the restroom in the food court area, so you can ask the employees for the restroom key. They ask for an ID to hold while you use the restroom, and student IDs are also accepted.

Yelp
You know your girl had to have boba at least once during my trip to Chicago. This place is located downtown, walking distance from Cloud Gate. It's a small shop located near a school. Weren't much seating but it was okay. The workers here were really nice and patient. Wasn't sure what to order so my bf and I lingered near the register, looking at the menu, trying to figure out what to order. I finally decided on 3Q milk tea (hot) since it was freezing outside. The drinks came our promptly and it was good. Unfortunately their milk tea to boba ratio was off. I had wayyyy too much boba and egg pudding left over at the end of my drink. Also I wish they had honey boba. It was decent and I was happy to get my boba fix in.

Yelp
Vivi Bubble Tea is a SoCal 3 but a Chicago 4. It's important to set your standards appropriately when judging boba in the windy city. We're behind the times with boba and most asian sweets. Vivi has a wide selection of options with milk teas, slushes, fruit drinks and fruit teas. The boba is always free, which I appreciate, and almost always a good taste & texture. The Oolong is my go-to drink at Vivi. I've also had the Jasmine Float a few times. It's tasty but the cream is very heavy and has sometimes caused an upset tummy for me (too much cream and sugar). The float options are a salted cream top (think the cheese top for many other boba spots but with a salty taste). I love the salted cream but, as I mentioned, it can be a bit heavy. The mango green tea is pretty good with the typical bitterness expected of a green tea. I might recommend getting it 50% - 75% sweet instead of the regular amount. Vivi is best as a quick stop rather than a sit and sip place. It's often crowded and the space is very small. There are always people seated but I wouldn't really recommend it. Overall, Vivi will do in a pinch when there aren't other boba spots around. If you're a boba snob, I'd recommend trying Bingo Tea or maybe Joy Yee's in China Town. If you're a boba fan but okay with average boba, like me, then it's worth stopping in for a drink.

Yelp
I'm somebody who gets intimidated from drive thru menus..so coming here with very little knowledge of boba/bubble tea, was sure to get my panic button poked. The wait line was a savior in this case as it was super long. After reading the menu couple times & changing my decision a million times I decided to go with the passionfruit tea with the mango boba (popping). The drink was refreshing..esp on that hot day. I also tried my friends Tirasmiu tea with lychee jelly (crazy combo) but it turned out pretty good too. You get to choose your ice and sugar levels which is cool. The time between placing the order and receiving is negligible and so is the time between receiving and finishing your drink. Though the seats inside are scarce, I think they have plenty more towards the back in what seems like a common food court space. Overall cute, I see myself coming back here if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Pretty good milk tea on the loop! It's a small shop but they are fast at filling their orders. They have kiosks to order from or you can order at the counter like usual. Got the mango slushie and taro milk tea (lactose free). Loved that they had a ton of lactose free options! 0% sweetness was perfect for the taro tea (if you enjoy not overly sweet drinks). Couldn't find the hot tea option on the ordering kiosk though...but overall great spot!

Yelp
Moo Milk! moohaha~ That's my evil laugh. I had a team meeting here and really, who doesn't like a good bubble tea!? Finding Vivi was a little confusing when I was routed inside the DePaul Center. Pretty sure it's a big hit with the college kids! I mean, it's gotta be when it's right on campus for them. The shop itself only has a few tables to chill at but in the DePaul center, right outside, are about a million tables so you should be good to go in terms of seating. Whenever I get bubble tea, I usually go with taro. Taro is oh~so~delicious and it's hard for me to order any other flavor. So order taro I did at Vivi! However, I went buckwild and ordered their moo milk which is made with *shocker alert* milk!!! Instead of the usual tea. They put in boatloads of boba, flavor was tasty and overall a very solid bubbletea...or bubblemilk I guess. If you're in the area, Vivi is a solid stop for some Rated G Drinks.

Yelp
I got the Jasmine peach pulp and the tea itself was a little flat and tasteless. It kinda had that Jasmine taste but very, very subtle it almost tasted like flavor water. The pulp is not pulp but peach bits and they're bigs, like it doesn't even fit the straw big. I also had it with mango popping boba, which i think really helped with the taste. I really liked the decor and the inside, it was very cute and pleasant. The service was also very good so that gets a plus for me.

Yelp
This boba is so bad I got the Coffee boba and its mid. The workers were rude and not very helpful. I will not be coming back

Yelp
Ahhh, boba!! As a West Coaster, I am not used to calling it bubble tea. I was excited to run into this place on my way to the Willis (fka Sears) Tower. Funny thing is - there is a Dunkin Donuts a few doors down that had happy hour tea or iced coffee for like $2 or less, and no line... But yet, I went here instead. Gotta try other boba places in the country, right?? Well, as soon as I walked in, the line was pretty much snaking to the door with at least 6 people in front of me. Good sign, I guess. They had a pretty good amount of flavors and drink styles, so it was helpful they had a top 10 list to narrow down my already confused head. Yes, there were myriads of photos of their drinks, and I'm like - I want that one. No, wait, maybe this one... and so on. Settled with the passion fruit QQ tea (no idea what is QQ), but that's what it says on the pic I took, with less ice and 30% sweetness. Boba was nicely cooked and chewy. Not too sweet, and very enjoyable. Can't remember if they had other pastries, but they definitely have some macarons in case you want something to eat it with.

Yelp
Vivi Bubble Tea is average at best. I've gone twice now and tried two different milk tea drinks - the original black milk tea with boba and a taro milk tea with boba, both tasted very artificial and poweder-y and the boba much more chewy than I had wanted. I must say it's great to have in the area considering there are very few milk tea places to choose from in the loop and the surrounding areas, and it will get the job (decently) done when one has a craving for milk tea, but I can't say it's my favorite place or one that I would bring friends to. The store itself is quite small so I never had the chance to sit down and drink my drink in the store. It is attached to a university study space, so there always seems to be a large influx of groups of students coming in and out. Overall, I am very indifferent about Vivi. I've had cravings that I've tried to satisfy by going to Vivi and I can't say I'm absolutely satisfied when I finally get my drink when it comes from here, but as mentioned before it is milk tea. Average, but still milk tea. For the price and the location, I give it three stars. If you are in the area, exploring per say the Bean or are headed to the library to study or what not, this place is conveniently located so you can grab your drink and go. Otherwise, if you're looking for good, authentic boba, I suggest getting on the red line and taking a trip to Chinatown, where they have much more selection!

Yelp
I was really craving frozen yogurt. While yelping, it said vivi bubble tea has froyo on yelp and on their door. We decided to check it out, unfortunately, they didn't, I was disappointed. Oh well, so we wended up getting a bubble tea, taste wise, it could be better, bubbles were kinda tasteless. Not sure if I'll check it out again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Dissapointing The drinks are very hit or miss, even getting the same order the taste of drinks are very inconsistent. The best part was them canceling my order right infront of me way before they should have been closing. It's not worth going back there for me at least.

Yelp
This is probably the best bubble tea available in the South Loop area, but it is strictly pickup with COVID and wayyy overpriced. I was craving good bubble tea and got their 3Q milk tea (the only one that comes with toppings). I selected the medium size not knowing that it would be so tiny and it came out to be around $7. If I do come back I'll opt for a larger size.

Yelp
I was in the mood for bubble tea after lunch and we were near state street, so found this spot on Yelp. They have order on the machine option and in person. I got the most popular drink, coffee jelly milk tea. I customized it 50% sweet. The drink was fine but nothing special and not horrible.

Yelp
The best bubble tea in the loop! Vivi's is a franchise, i've had it in NY and newly opened in ATL. This one,( a part of the Depaul Center) also offers froyo by the oz. I haven't gotten this here but it seems like a pretty popular item. The toppings just look gross to me. It so out in the open and available to everyone standing in line waiting to order. Also, standing in line here is pretty cluster f***. There are two entrances so theres no "true line" The store is small so its a tight situation every time The tea is good and pricing is reasonable to other tea shops. Its just nice to have authentic bubble tea without having to go out of the loop.
