Such a great surprise to find homemade pasta and so local…just a few minutes away in Valley Village. Quaint setting with lively Italian music. Servers were delightful and attentive. Started with the most delicious Caeser salad and homemade garlic bread. Our entrees were all stellar—especially the lemon ricotta ravioli. Loved the reasonable portion sizes. Too full for dessert, sadly! Perfectly paired Italian wines, too. Will definitely return!

So, I looked at many reviews before I wrote mine here, thinking that the person in our party who selected this spot was informed by the reviews. I don’t get it. Fine albeit standard northern style Italian eatery with good service, but sadly food just ordinary. Two thin crust pizzas nice, margherita and veggie, both nice, but not special. Caesar salad was terrific, with lots of hearts and some crunch on top w/just the right amount of dressing. So fresh and good flavor, but not enough to say this is a 5-star establishment. The pastas, homemade, were all very nice, but nothing memorable. We ordered to share all the above plus an assortment of pasta dishes for our party of 7; they were good, but, again, I wouldn’t say noteworthy. If I was around, I might go back, but with all the competing Italian eateries, I’d be more likely to seek a different spot. Really, not bad and I feel somewhat guilty given the rave, that nothing added up to that level, but that’s the news from here.

Hidden Gem , Relaxed Quiet Atmosphere & Food We Will Come Back For Ordered the Raviolis, Shrimp Linguine, Dover Sole Piccata, and Marsala were all fantastic The Bread served prior to meals alone will make you want to come back. Great Service to complement everything. I hope this place continues to grow.

This place is great! Up-and-coming Chef Angel's first restaurant, and I have a feeling we'll either see more, or this will continue to grow. It's unassuming with a homey elegance. Service (Victoria) was excellent. Great friendly and great recommendations. Food was delicious. Victoria even gave my brother a free glass of wine to try with the pizza (he wasn't sure which he'd like). The bread, ravioli (handmade), oxtail pasta, and limoncello mascarpone cake (with blueberry topping) were my favorites (exceptional). Diavola pizza was unique and nor your normal pizza crust (I've never had pizza quite like this anywhere; it's fermented dough but not crispy or thin -- not super thick either). Cesar salad & mozzarella sticks (the latter which we accidentally ordered thinking it was broccolini!) were both very good and were a nice combination to eat together. Great portions for sharing. Btw only beer and wine.

This place was quite delightful! The food was amazing, the service was top tier. I would definitely recommend it. I ordered the linguini with shrimp. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The bread was to die for, crispy delicousness! I will for sure be back. Love love love!!❤️❤️❤️

A little hidden gem! ViVi ristorante is not what you expect for the location. As soon as you walk in you feel as though you’ve teleported some where else. Quaint, great vibes and cute decor. We enjoyed the food very much. We tried all the apps: the meatballs, fried mozzarella and artichoke (my fav). The margherita pizza was light and tasty. The mains- Dover fish (my fav) & two pastas. The pasta is made in house and cooked to perfection. I loved the cream inside the cannoli! I forgot to mention the ceasar salad, the romaine was nice crisp with homemade croutons and so tasty. The waiter Justin is so sweet and knows the menu well. Chef Angel was kind enough to stop by our table and you can tell he loves what he does.

Being Italian, I was very excited to see an Italian restaurant open up so close to my home. The bartender was very friendly, and the restaurant had a nice ambiance to it. Definitely enjoyed being in there and would have loved to make it my regular spot to go to weekly. Only reason I give this 2 stars and not 5 is because for the price of the Chicken Marsala, it’s extremely small portions and left me still very hungry for being around $26. I’m only 6’0” and 150lbs so I don’t normally eat much to begin with, so to say this was a small portion is saying something. The chicken breast was butterflied but then cut in half so you got a very small portion of chicken that was only topped with a few brussels sprouts and mushrooms, no actual side to accompany this dish. So once you eat that, you’re left wanting more and not in a good way. I absolutely loved the taste of the Marsala sauce and the dish itself, so there is much potential to be a great restaurant if they get their portions right for the price. You’d think it would come with a small amount of pasta or even some type of salad for the price as normally this type of dish would come with such sides. I’d love to go back and be a regular patron there weekly, but for that price I’m better off going to Ma’s in Burbank. I was very excited to try this place out, I’ll go back in a couple months to see if they updated their potions after being open a while. With the one entree and bottle of San Pellegrino costing me about $36 before tax, I spent $50 including tip to be left hungry and going home to only make myself a second dinner at home an hour later.

From the service to the food, it was an impeccable experience. It was myself, husband and 11 yr old. Had chicken Marsala, their daily special of lobster ravioli and the bolognese. Every dish was perfection. The servers friendliness and attentive service were wonderful. 11 year old said this place deserves 5 bajillion stars. And she's picky. So take that for what it's worth!

What a pleasant surprise. In an unassuming strip mall, the food was priced reasonably and it was delicious. I have high standards for Italian and Vivi exceeded them. My only issue is they need a hostess at the front. We waited 30 minutes without even being acknowledged by anyone because the servers were so busy. The couple in front of us threw up their hands and left. It wasn't a great first impression. Once we were seated, our server was friendly and made great wine suggestions. We will definitely be back, though.

There is a 5 restaurant in the heart of Valley Village , and it's called Vivi Ristorante. It's a fine dining establishment, with a romantic vibe. Valentine's Day was packed. The menu is fantastic, and this is not a place if you're counting calories. All jokes aside, you won't find better Italian food in all of LA. And the service is impeccable. The wait staff are professionals. They make sure you're enjoying yourself, without hovering. All in all, I'm talking about a restaurant that belongs on Ventura Blvd, and then West LA. That's how good it is.

The food here was great, this was one of my first times coming to a place that has fresh made pasta and you could really tell the quality of the food from the taste. It's a cozy setting I think maybe three tables could fit a party of 4 and the other three to five tables could fit a party of 2 and there's also an additional few seats at the bar. The service was great, we came on a Tuesday night. There was only one server and he did a great job getting us seated and taking our order while being able to tend to the other three tables in the registrant.

This hidden gem is THE BEST Italian food I've ever had in Los Angeles and is on par with food I have had across Italy. I first ate here over the holidays for a work dinner and we tasted all of the appetizers and shared a bunch of main dishes and desserts. Everything was absolutely perfect. Service was great and the atmosphere was cozy and really cute. I'm headed there with some friends tomorrow and I can't wait to be back. My mouth is watering just looking at the menu again. Congrats, Chef Angel! Your restaurant is a triumph!

The absolute worst customer service I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. We called ahead being fully aware that it was Christmas Day. We told the server that we were a party of 8 to make sure there was space and time. We arrived and waited more than hour to be sat. When the server finally came around, she had the worst attitude and was upset that we called her over when she missed several orders. The last straw was when she proceeded to take the menu away from me before I even told her what I wanted. It was then that we decided to leave. I would rather waste an hour waiting at another location than give this business our money.

This is the best Italian in LA. It's hidden in the corner of a strip mall where you'd never find it unless you were a foodie or had a friend willing to give up the location. Where to start... from the bread to the Caesar salad to the handmade fresh ravioli to the homemade arrabbiata with meatballs to the limoncello cake... it's all ridiculously good. Enjoy it before it gets too popular. Don't tell your friends. Great night out, excellent service, not overly crowded... perfect for a date night. 10/10

Chef Angel and his sister Sheila messaged me regarding the low pour on my last review and made things right by giving me a complimentary glass of wine on my latest visit. They're lovely people and I would recommend anyone to visit Vivi Ristorante if you want an authentic Italian experience while supporting a local restaurant. PS: The Cavatelli pasta is addicting.

Very good quality yet affordable Italian cuisine . Pasta was house made. No liquor - only beer and wine. Also, the night we went they were severely understaffed, but I'm guessing that was unusual. Despite the wait, I'd definitely go again.

Food is good alright but its better to eat there in person. I ordered through UberEats and some items were not in the bag. Website description on an item is deceiving. Weird!

What an amazing little place. I first came here on a date and it was so cozy! The food was incredible. We ordered the artichoke hearts as a starter and shared the pappardelle and lemon ravioli. I still think about that ravioli! Oh and the bread is to die for. I took my son and his dad there last night and we tried all new things. We got the sausage and kale pizza, the fettuccine ( prob the best I have ever had- side note- I'm a culinary instructor so I teach cooking and have a very high standard) and the penne arrabbiata with meatballs! All incredible. This had joined the rotation of places we will go to often.

I ended up going here with my partner as we look for a place to dine on a Saturday night. The venue is very intimate and the food and service are fantastic. I think I found one of my favorite local neighbor restaurant. We ordered the meatball, zucchini soup, fried artichoke, and cavatelli. I look forward to returning!

I made reservations easily using Yelp and we were seated immediately upon arrival. There's romantic music playing in a dimly lit space that offers delicious Italian food. We ordered a Rosé, Red Blend, Seared Scallops, Butternut Squash Bisque, Cavatelli with Oxtail Ragu, and The Pork Salsiccia & Kale Pizza. All was delicious, fresh, and decadent. Victoria delivered excellent service while being the sole hostess/waitress on the floor.

Celebrated my husband's birthday at Vivi's this past weekend. Hole in the wall restaurant with an elevated ambiance the moment you step foot into this cozy nook. We had reservations for 7pm. There was only one waitress not only serving all the tables, but also welcoming and sitting guests as they walked in. She was trying her best, but it was clear she was overwhelmed. They need additional servers to improve their customer service. Now the food: I had the Caesar salad with the oxtail Ragú, both were phenomenal. We hope to be back, but I would like to see additional staff in the front to make the experience a solid 5 stars.

Seek out this hidden (no really!!!) gem! BARELY visible, tucked in the very corner of a unimpressive strip mall on Laurel Canyon, ViVi is wonderful! TINY, dark Mom and Pop restaurant serving homemade breads and pastas! Recently acquiring a liquor license, now serving wine and beer! The DELICIOUS paperdelle witih bolognese tasted like homemade! The large, cheesy bread slice was delicious with the super fresh, crisp ceasar salad - (only complaint - wish the salad dressing had more anchovy flavor). EVERYONE who worked that evening was LOVELY! Going back again soon to try more homemade Italian goodies!!

Honestly this place is amazing, the food is delicious. We found them in our near by restaurant and I was very impressed. We order to go, did not dine in but I'm looking forward to dine in soon. Out of the item we order everything tastes delicious. Yes I'm definitely ordering again or dine in. Service was good since I placed my order to go.

New Italian mom & pop spot located in the strip mall corner. We saw the good reviews so had to come try it, they're known for their handmade pasta. They bring cheesy hot focaccia bread at the beginning with oil and vinegar. We got the pork salsiccia + kale pizza, this was very good. For pastas we got the linguine and cavatelli, both were tasty. Service was great, they came back to check in often and refill waters.

5 Stars all the way, and if you have Justin as your waiter, the stars double! The artichoke appetizer was incredible, Chicken Marsala amazing, and Arrabbiata almost better than my Moms. I would definitely have the Sangiovese to round out the dishes! We will be back

This is a hidden gem that I would love to stay hidden, but I must share because of how excellent the food is. We had the Caesar's Salad, and instead of crutons, they had (panko?) these lovely crunchy bits all over the leaves. The dressing was flavorful and light, and the accompanying bread was fresh and delicious. Then we shared the ravioli and an entree (I don't see it on the Yelp menu) with a beef ragu (I noticed about half of the pasta dishes were with a ragu (Cavatelli?) , so we had to order). The ravioli was what I called a summer pasta- lemony and light (which seems to be the dominating theme), and the ragu was rich and flavorful, but not so rich where you couldn't finish it. Generous portions friendly service, modest prices for the quality and quantity you get, and I'll definitely be back with my crew.

Great little restaurant in Valley Village. I felt transported to Italy. Food was fantastic. We shared the soup special and had the fried artichokes as an appetizer. Both were great. I ordered the ragu cavatelli, which was amazing. My wife had the lemon flavored ravioli, also on spot. The complimentary foccacia went well with our meal and wine. Victoria was pleasant and made our dining experience enjoyable. 5 stars and deserved

Overall experience was okay. Took about 40 minutes just to take our drink order but once they did, everything else came quickly. Dark restaurant and tables are a little too close together. Food was very good

I took a chance on this new restaurant and I'm glad I did. Excellent food, definitely better than expected. Don't let the tiny strip mall location fool you: this is a nice Italian restaurant. Much different vibe on the inside than the outside. We ordered the ravioli, the chicken Marsala, the Bolognese, the lemon mascarpone cake, and the tiramisu. All were wonderful but the chicken and the tiramisu were probably the winners of the evening for me. I will also say that as someone who doesn't have a huge appetite most days, the portions were not gigantic like many other places these days, which I appreciated a lot. And the food we ate did not leave me feeling heavy and overfull... more so content. Which was nice because then we had room for dessert, which was really good. I think the tiramisu was the best I've tasted and I've tasted many different ones in my life. Our server was also very nice and attentive with lots of helpful recommendations. The menu isn't huge but that seems to mean the limited number of things they serve are all things they make very well. I 100% see myself coming back here in the future.

The fettuccine Alfredo was AMAZING! My favorite plate here, shoot might even be the best Alfredo ever. I'm very picky about my white sauce. DELISH! The hanger steak was cooked to perfection with green sauce on top. Tender, juicy and delish. They give you warm ciabatta bread, with oil and vinegar... even that was amazing, Finished it off with dessert.... I will definitely be coming back here with my family and will spread the word !!!

I'm cracking up here, because--thinking about my meals at Vivi--the "worst" thing I had was actually excellent! And I just finished enjoying it as a leftover. The Margherita pizza. So many in town can't get a Neapolitan pizza right, too often with a limp-penis center. Well, not Vivi! The crust was near perfect, with a nice chew, and no mushy center, nor a need to eat it with a knife and fork. Simple, classic, and provided me with a couple of days of leftovers. It was nice to keep enjoying the pure flavors. (At home, I did add some crushed red peppers and a thin stream of an excellent extra virgin olive oil). But I'm just getting started. If that was merely excellent, then let's move to the other parts of my recent dinner. Incredible bread--that I believe was freshly baked--started off the meal. That one important measure of a great Italian restaurant--stellar freshly baked bread. If it wasn't freshly baked (I didn't verify), then it sure tasted that way. A nice crunch on the outside and lovely on the inside. Some EVOO and balsamic enhanced it even more. You could smell its herbs as the waiter was bringing it to the table. My dining partner got the Pappardelle Bolognese. Forget leftovers. He woofed it down. It was so good he couldn't stop eating it. I tried some, and yes, it was to die for. Homemade pasta. A wonderful nuanced bolognese with no off-flavors. Everything sang together. But let me sing the praises of MY entree--Casarecce Al Ragu Bianco. Casarecce is an extruded pasta, sort of like cut bucatini #2 that's been in a fight. The sauce was a marriage of braised pork ragu that's been slow cooked with various herbs and veggies, along with parmigiano. No tomato sauce. Very light but the flavors were lovingly intense. Waves of various flavors flowing over the tongue like a choir in a resplendent cadence. I decided after that first bite that 1) I would eat the whole thing and not take any home, but 2) that I would eat it slowly, taking a bite, putting my fork down, and let this bite of pasta make slow Barry White love to my mouth. This was one of the most exceptional pasta dishes I've had lifetime. We finished with cannoli and tiramisu, both of which had wonderful flavor and texture. If we had had wine (waiting on license), we probably would have broken down and wept with happiness. I *had* to ask for the chef to thank him for such an excellent meal. This was my second time into Vivi, and my incredible lunch experience a few weeks ago was sustained with this amazing dinner experience. The restaurant made my partner feel like he was back home in a friend's parent's neighborhood Italian restaurant. Even though Vivi is in a little strip mall of casual eateries (most of which are OUTSTANDING, by the way, notably Curry Zone and Los Cuates Gourmet), Vivi is a bit more formal, but not in a dress-up way. The music and lighting were perfect. And our server was friendly and attentive. I will be back to work my way through the menu, including the Secondi. I'm very happy I stumbled upon Vivi. It's great to have such a nice place in my local area. Yeah, we have lots of nice Italian restaurants around, but this one is special.....

this place has such a warm vibe. Slightly dark and welcoming. The food is like home cooked, Italian fare. Home made pastas and the sauces are divine and delicate, not garlicky. Don't be fooled because it is in a strip mall that looks like a thousand others, but tucked way back but a BIG SIGN, is Vivi. I would say it is fine dining but they do serve pizza so that brings a little note of difference. However the rest of the choices are unusual. Charming, warm, good service and a lovely surprise when you open the door to go in.

Outstanding homemade pasta dishes along with very good chicken, meatballs & seafood. Always enjoy the meal but they could improve seating. Not enough tables to accommodate demand. So far, one server who at times has been overwhelmed. Overall, highly recommended if they could improve their footprint.

The food was AMAZING; from the delicious complimentary bread (served warm and fresh), the homemade pasta and sauces, expertly cooked hanger steak, to the well curated desserts. Everyone in my party loved everything. The service was friendly and professional but I think our server was a bit overwhelmed with hosting, bussing tables, taking orders, and serving the food. She was remarkably adept at handling it all but I hope she gets some help with her duties.

Tucked in the corner of a very unassuming strip mall in the Valley, Vivi is a cute bistro with mood lighting and attentive service. They take care in their clean space with clean bathrooms. This is some of the best rustic yet authentic Italian food you will find in LA, and for a reasonable price: a true hidden gem. Will be back soon!

Can I give it 6 stars??? Lovely restaurant with fresh pasta and friendly service. Dont be fooled by the outside, it's charming and cozy when you enter. The bread they start you with is incredible, oil and vinegar dipping is solid. I got the bolganese and it was perfectly seasoned and parppadelle incredible. Wish I had room for dessert. More reason to go back! Definitely give this new neighborhood spot a shot

Delicious entrees, appetizers and Caesar salad. Our friendly waiter offered helpful suggestions (Chicken Marsala, Ravioli, Meatballs) and we are so glad we followed his advice. Very child-friendly place, too. We were also given tasty artichoke. We look forward to returning soon.

I have finally found the best Italian restaurant in LA! Jon and Vinny's watch out!! Food is excellent here. Definitely going back and it is so close to my home which makes it even better. Thank you Vivi Ristorante for your excellency in Italian cuisine. Keep it up.

A hidden gem, everything was delicious, from the appetizers to our pasta and Dover sole main courses to dessert. The service was excellent and the ambiance was charming. We will definitely return!

Just had the best pasta in the valley. Great ceaser salad with nice bread crispy crunchy crumbs. Perfect Al dente pasta. We had pappardelle, cavatelli, arrabiatta, and pizza diavolo. All the ragu was perfectly seasoned . And rich when necessary. Bread appetizer was fresh from the oven and different than anything out there. I've been to all the Ventura Blvd Italian places and others like Uuovo, Pagliaccis, olivo, etc. but this place is better. pizza dough tasted like the best Caputo 00 dough which is neopolitan dough that has a perfect chewiness. I could be wrong about that brand though, but it's gotta be close. I bake pizza with that myself so I recognize that chewiness. It's in an unassuming place in the corner of a strip mall, but surprisingly mature inside. Seriously, one of the best in the Valley and even all of Los Angeles. No, really, I've been to a lot of Italian restaurants in downtown and Beverly Hills. Please try for yourself. Then try to prove me wrong. You won't.

Vivi Ristorante truly is a gem. Their food will transport you into an Italian home, serving authentic dishes rich in flavor and made with the freshest ingredients. Hidden inside a shopping center, you would never expect to find this place serving LA's best Italian food. Their food is made in-house using organic produce and meats; you can taste the difference in every bite. Chef Angel has worked in many of LA's best kitchens and brought his talents to his restaurant. Everything I had was perfect! Compared to the stuffy restaurants that call themselves the best, they don't even come close to this spot! It is only a matter of time before this place has long wait times, and it becomes impossible to get a reservation. If you are reading this, you are lucky to have found this restaurant. Trust me, you want to experience the magic that is going on in this kitchen. Come in for yourself and try their homemade pasta, made fresh daily, or their pizza, made from sourdough that leaves you guilt-free! I ate their whole menu, and everything I had was a masterpiece. Cheers to becoming a historic restaurant in our city!

My dinner service was awesome. Me and 2 buddies of mine ordered the chicken Marsala, sole, pizza, and mozzarella sticks...quality of the ingredients was superb. Our waiter Justin recommended to us his favorite plates in the menu and was spot on (we took his advice of course). Service was top notch. He was very articulate and checked up on us regularly. Thank you for that wonderful experience.

This restaurant is truly a hidden gem. It's in a strip mall, but the food is more high-end quality and simply to die for! Chef Angel really knows what he's doing. The handmade bolognese pasta is truly divine, and the kale + sausage pizza is AMAZING. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of their menu. A big bonus is that they're kid-friendly. They had a chair for my 21-month-old and were accommodating in making a kids' plain pasta. Will definitely be back and HIGHLY recommend!

Got the bolognese for $23 USD. It was a small portion - about the amount I'd have leftover after eating the majority of the plate at other spots. It also didn't have a lot of meat and tasted just okay. Pretty expensive for not a lot.

New gem in the Valley! Fresh, hand-made pasta & bread.. wow so good! Delicious Ceasar salad, hand-made fried mozarella with insanely good tomato sauce to dip-in... We had Dover Sole with a picatta sauce, and Casarece pasta with braised pork.. EXCELLANT! And the Tiramisu is amazing!!! Highly recommend, take-out or dine-in! 10/10

I'm always on the hunt for a new local restaurant and upon seeing a new Italian Restaurant in this Valley Village mini mall I had to try! Upon entering you're greeted with a warm welcome, my waitress Kelly was outstanding to say the least. After ordering the most delectable warm bread is brought out to your table with oil & vinegar. I decided to sample a few things being my first time. I started with their Diavola Pizza, it had some nice spice and chew to the crust. Now the highlight was their pasta which I can see myself ordering on a weekly basis, Pappardelle Bolognese which was simply divine. That pasta was top notch and I ended the meal with a delightful Canoli which they stuff the filling in house, rush to try this new hidden gem!

Yummy, cozy new Italian restaurant for the neighborhood! Chef Angel is cooking up delicious Italian food and pizza in a pizza oven. All of the pastas I had were excellent and the service is super friendly. Everything is made from scratch including the yummy Caesar salad. I'll be back .
