Viviane - Review - Beverly Hills - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"You know those TV shows you put on at night simply because you need background noise? Maybe it’s Sportscenter as you get some late-night work done on your laptop, or the soothing voice of Ina Garten as you scroll through Instagram before getting to bed, or basically anything that’s aired on HGTV ever. You like these shows. They’re unobtrusive, easy to follow, and if you miss a few minutes here or there, no one’s going to blame you. Viviane is all background. Now, that’s not to say the poolside restaurant at The Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills is bad, it’s just nothing special. The space is beautiful, no one’s doubting that. And the Avalon pool aesthetic is probably the closest thing to Palm Springs besides getting into your car and driving to Palm Springs. The whole situation is far more casual than you’d think it’d be, and that’s a pleasant surprise. But the food? It’s ok. We’ve never been truly upset about anything we’ve ordered at Viviane, but we’re also not still thinking about anything either. The ribeye sandwich is good enough, but they put way too much mustard on it. The ricotta ravioli is fine, but fairly one-note. And why did we just spend $10 on a bowl of nuts? photo credit: Holly Liss None of the above matters though because no one here orders anything else except salads anyways. Just count how many you see next time if you don’t believe us. Now we’re all about a healthy lunch choice, but this ultimately tells us one thing - no one at Viviane actually comes for the food. They come for a comfortable space that’s nice to look at and heatedly discuss with their co-workers about why network television is failing. The salad is just a means to write the whole thing off on the company credit card afterwards. Viviane certainly relaxes a bit during dinner service, but this is power lunch central and you should treat it as such. Like nightly NBA highlights or a poorly-edited home renovation show, Viviane does its job. It provides a nice background with decent food and let’s you and your co-workers get your work done. Just don’t expect any more noise than that. RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE Food Rundown Roasted Prime Ribeye While this thing certainly looks the part, it really should be renamed The Mustard Sandwich with complimentary ribeye. Which is too bad, because it could've been really good too. Ricotta Ravioli Ricotta? Squash? Brown sugar? These are a few of our favorite things, Julie Andrews. And while a plate of these babies won't leave you bummed, it all comes out a tad one-note in the end. Herb Baked Turkey Perhaps the strongest sandwich on the menu (because there's bacon), but let's remember - not too much bread now. Yellowfin Tuna Tartare Keeping in the Viviane theme, this tartare is good. But also the kind of tartare you could get almost anywhere else. Marinated Olives & Spiced Nuts WTF. Why is this even on the menu? Get this for free at any bar in LA." - Brant Cox

It's alright, watch out for the 5% wellness surcharge. Would only dine if staying at this hotel. Staff is nice, food is good.

Google
We had the chips and guacamole, French toast and breakfast burrito. It was good. We sat by the pool. Nice and cozy setting.

Google
Enjoyed the atmosphere a lot was sat outside around a pool. Do that were a bunch of little kids inside the pool playing it was nice to be outside. Only problem or issue I would say was the extremely over price drinks. They were using relatively cheap liquor but charging exorbitant prices. Food was good

Wonderful service. The hotel is amazing. Concierge staff super friendly and accommodating. Food was healthy and delicious. Pool scenery w/ bamboos create a wonderful ambience. Great for family/friends brunch or casual business meetings. The food doesn't take long to come out which is good if you're hungry, which we were. Strongly recommend trying one of their green juices. They're well worth the price (not watered down with ice).

See the picture. That’s the review. It looked so good I couldn’t wait to take a picture. Haha I didn’t see any reviews on the roasted chicken, but I took a chance and so glad I did. Absolutely delicious! And kind staff throughout the entire hotel. THANK YOU❤️

Google
Tucked in the Avalone hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood. The waiter elevated the experience by 100%. He was full of joy and super attentive. Dining options inside or outside around the pool…well edited menu, finished with the warm cookies- dessert was the best.

Google
The ambiance is nice, not too loud and not too crowded. Food is decent, but i was expecting more for a place like this. Cocktails weren't really up to par with the environment as well. If you're not looking for fancy fancy but just a nice place to have a bite, that might check the boxes.

Google
Dined here while staying at the Avalon Beverly Hills - arrived late and did not want to go looking around for dinner. Service was good, ate outdoor next to the pool and heater was on. Had the clams linguine which was fine but portion was small and it was pricey. Very nice ambiance.

Yelp
Great service and delicious food! Our server made wonderful recommendations on the entrees, the airline chicken was flavorful and tender. My house made pasta with added shrimp was pretty cheesey and paired well with the garlic flavor grilled shrimp. The restaurant has beautiful decor that reminds me of Palm Springs, would love to visit again for their brunch FREE valet Parking was super nice!

Yelp
cute little restaurant inside the avalon beverly hills. there's an indoor section and outdoor section with tables and couches surrounding the pool. great service, great drinks, good food. chips + guacamole were great, grilled chicken sandwich was decent. nice views and relaxing atmosphere. Yelp
Bravo to Viviane! Located at the iconic and historic Avalon Hotel of Beverly Hills, Viviane offers delicious California style cuisine. The setting is very nice with indoor and pool side seats. The food is fresh and delicious. The service is outstanding. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Lovely spot for Sunday brunch. We came here to celebrate my friend's graduation and we all enjoyed it. The place was not too busy on a Sunday morning but I still recommend making a reservation like we did, just in case. They have a relaxing outside dining area with the pool in the center. Our server was kind and explained the menu as we mentioned that it was our first time. I had an açaí bowl, which was very refreshing for a sunny morning, and a warm and delicious French toast.

Yelp
Convenient due to its location in our hotel! Nice to sit by the pool and have a cocktail. Our server Brett was very nice. Everyone in this place is very nice and professional. We just had drinks and dessert. I had the Key Lime pie - which was good - it tasted a little like it had lavender in it, but the crust was exceptional. Steph had the chocolate truffle cake - it was so rich, but she loved it!

Yelp
I come back to the Avalon at least 45% because of this restaurant. Breakfast and lunch options are fantastic, including the salmon bagel board, the fresh and tasty yogurt bowl, and the shrimp tacos. I've loved everything I've tried. The /SERVICE/ though. It's so great. The team here is so welcoming and sweet. Jason especially is extremely attentive and sometimes I swear he can fully read minds (fresh cold brew before I even thought to ask for it!!!). There are other great things about the hotel, but this restaurant is a standout. I'll keep returning every time I'm in LA.

Yelp
Great California cuisine, relaxed old Beverly Hills atmosphere. No rush, chill service. Sit by the pool, at the bar or inside, let the world go by.

Yelp
Very kind, polite, genuine staff provided excellent service and made me feel very comfortable. But that's where good things end. I ordered fish tacos at the server's recommendation. Fish was dry and it just wasn't well balanced. Not bad but not good either, just something to fill the stomach with. I also ordered a piece of chocolate cake as dessert. It was very cold and very dry, definitely not fresh. Felt like a deli cake from the fridge, but just plated with extra berries. Overall, absolutely not worth the price.

Yelp
A great spot for a get together with friends. The service was friendly and attentive. They have free valet parking for the restaurant, which is a nice touch. We enjoyed our brunch there, the eggs Benedict were done perfectly. The indoor outdoor dining option is also nice as both are attractive and well suitedfor a casual dining experience

Yelp
Viviane is a homerun every time! The servers and bus staff are some of the best! Customer service is bar none here!

Yelp
Pull up. Valet your car. Swing through the hotel doors. Cut past the table tops. Out the door. Plant yourself at a table next to the pool. Throw on your shades and order a nice drink. You'll feel like Jerry McGuire taking a meeting to close a deal. Or maybe the lead singer of an 80s hair band discretely drinking off that all night coke-fueled hotel party from the night before. Yeah. That's the vibe.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
Was surprised to see the restaurant at the hotel I was staying at had such a high rating! Had dinner elsewhere so I tried it for dessert. Per Yelp reviews I thought I was ordering 3 different cookies but I got 3 chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream. The cookies were hot and delicious. The ice cream was nothing to write home about. Regardless I housed it all and the service was great so no complaints!

Yelp
I went here with my girlfriend because I got attracted to the interiors! The food was not that great! We went here for lunch and it was nothing special but a tad pricey! We had guacamole and fries and we also had a salad and I had their cold press juice! I Wouldn't say it's bad but it's just not the place that I would look for or go back to. Nothing special even the service itself!

Yelp
Cute hotel, vibe, decor... good food, good service. I was visiting and googled best breakfast places in Beverly Hills and Viviane was on a list of top 10. It definitely lived up to the hype. I had a Bloody Mary, egg white frittata and fruit cup and everything was great. Pricey but I expected that in Beverly Hills.

Yelp
Came here for a gals birthday get together on a Sunday early afternoon. We had a nice covered and heated spot by the pool. Very vibey and relaxed area that was great and comfortable for our group of 6. Kind staff and free valet is a plus. I got the burger for just north of $20 (typically LA hotel restaurant pricing) and it was tasty. They let our group sit there for hours without issue. They do have an indoor area as well that people brought work to do and chilled out for the day. Enjoyable experience and would be happy to return for seclusion and relaxation.

Yelp
The food tasted great! High quality coffee. The great ambiance was super peaceful - the staff are very polite and professional. They had complimentary valet parking.

Yelp
We went here today to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday. We wanted to make it special; our waitress, Ana, was truly our partner in making that happen. Our daughter and her friends sati in the cabana, adding to the experience. We ordered chips and guacamole, fries and desserts. All were perfect size and excellent quality. It is a beautiful atmosphere which is an oasis from the craziness surrounding the area. My daughter was thrilled with the results and we enjoyed our drinks at our own table. We recommend this with the highest rating!!!

Yelp
The old Hollywood charm of Viviane 's has its hold on me! The food is amazing and the decor a perfect fit. Great place to go for special occasions. I love having a poolside table.
google avatar

Scarlett H.

Yelp
Came here with girlfriends and our lunch came out to be $45 each. It's delicate and fine dining in a casual setting but I think my young adult kids would need two of their entrees (each) for a meal. We ordered 4 things to share: bustle sprouts, fish tacos, grilled chicken, and the spinach cavetellia. Quality was what you'd expect from a higher end restaurant but the portion size was a bit small. However, the Earl Gray Creme Brûlée was perfect - big enough for the 3 of us to share and excellently done. The poolside dining area is a great refreshing idea which makes this place unique and enjoyable. Service was perfect! Lastly, free valet parking!

Yelp
Fabulous eatery with great service and fun pool setting! Sit at a table or private cabana for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Totally hidden gem!

Yelp
Tucked away in the Avalon Hotel, Viviane is a breezy, charming spot made for lunching. The interior space is bright and inviting, but you'll probably be seated outdoors, in a jewel-box little space surrounding the hotel pool. The menu is tightly curated but executed with confidence; reliable go-to menu items comfort rather than challenge your palate. Service is kind and attentive; my date asked for an improvised non-alcoholic cocktail, and they came through admirably. The free valet is the cherry on top. Recommended, especially for a power lunch with your agent... or for a tryst with a special someone.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service, really cool ambiance, and delicious steak bavette brussel sprouts. The prime bavette steak is $35, but it's both filling and tender, cooked right (I asked for rare), yet still light enough where you don't feel unhealthy. A little bonus is the trendy outdoor seating right by the pool! Really fun to sit where the music is (and at night, they have heat lamps)

Tamara M.

Yelp
This is a true hidden gem in Beverly Hills... this is one of my favorite breakfast spots. It's a whole vibe by the pool in the summer and a nice quiet breakfast spot that's good and dose t break the bank like most breakfast in Beverly Hills. Lol. You can be seated inside or outside which they have heaters to make it note cozy on cold days. I've never stayed at the hotel but I love the food both breakfast and dinner. The staff is great, friendly and helpful. I only have one requisite that they get Baileys for my coffee lol.

calypso b.

Yelp
Came here for Christmas dinner and the food was exceptional. Service was great but they definitely needed more hands on deck. I believe our servers name was rob and he was lovely.

Yelp
Super cute space located inside a hotel. Tons of natural lighting with indoor/ outdoor - poolside seating and great service. I came here with a few colleagues for dinner and we made happy hour right before it ended. Some dishes that really stood out to me was the FRIED SQUASH BLOSSOMS, PEI MUSSELS & FRITES, TRUFFLE ARANCINI, and the RIGATONI. I definitely want to come back again to try their other dishes. ENJOY! PS: Free valet parking!!!

Yelp
So.much.salt. I don't know if their chef/cook has dead tastebuds, but the cacio e pepe was way too salty. The side of sautéed spinach I ordered was better. My tongue was numb by the end of the meal from the salt so I ordered a glass of red wine to try to counter lol. Also, don't sit next to the pool at night unless you're ok with the mosquitoes landing on your face.

Yelp
Need a couple of days in Palm Springs but don't have the time? May I suggest a couple of hours at Viviane instead? You might feel just as refreshed, you'll have a delicious meal, and you won't have to worry about sunburn or huge credit card bills or the traffic on the 10. Viviane had escaped my attention even though I'd driven by it many times; it's tucked away in the Avalon, a lovely boutique hotel. Having received a gift card for the restaurant, I decided to pop in on my way home from a rather contentious family visit in need of a calming and soothing experience. The ambiance is pure Palm Springs: the palette is soothing and on the blue/green end of the spectrum, there's a retro feel to the design, and the pool is right there. In fact, I believe you can sit by the pool if I am not mistaken. The menu seems designed for health-conscious Californians slimming down for their next audition. At the recommendation of my helpful server Mark, I ordered: Coffee: fantastic. Rich and flavorful. An egg white frittata: Healthy yet delicous. Green Goddess smoothie: I'm really not into smoothies but this was amazingly flavorful and rich for being so healthy. Panna cotta: smooth, creamy and topped with luscious fresh fruit. And since happy hour started while I was there, I also had a Peach Collins which was refreshing and relaxing. Valet is validated and there is ample free street parking. This would be a great place for a poolside lunch or brunch.

Yelp
Most tasteless burrito I have ever tried! I had the farmers market burrito which was not worth $19! Nice staff and good location but not a brunch spot.
google avatar

Adriana S.

Yelp
A little overpriced for what it is... but I still love this place. Always extremely chill and great to relax with some work or catch up with friends. *Important Note* they just changed their happy hour to 3pm-5pm, rude. It used to always go til 6 so it was possible to bring clients by here for a quick post-work drink.
google avatar

Negar S.

Yelp
Amazing food! Loved the staff, thanks so much for the fun time. Anything we ordered was delicious.

Cecily S.

Yelp
Came here for a business lunch last week and had a very pleasant experience. The dining room is pretty, quiet, sunny and full of upbeat color. Best yet, it's comfortable! Your client/guest won't be forced to balance on a wobbly stool. The menu is short but everything on it is delcious and the waitstaff is perfectly attentive but doesn't hover. Parking is complimentary BUT if you want to your car yourself, there is shady neighborhood parking on the back streets south of Olympic.

Yelp
Viviane has quickly become one of our go-to places for brunch and lunch. They do serve dinner, though their dinner menu is slightly limited at the moment due to COVID-19. Every time I visit this restaurant, I have trouble processing how fresh everything is. Every single item is made from scratch, including their insane chocolate chip cookies! Best of all, no matter what you order, you will not leave feeling ill. And on top of everything, service is great! I even hate to admit that I have visited multiple days in a row before. What really sets this restaurant apart is its pride in quality. For example, they will not serve certain items if they cannot get fresh ingredients. They get all their fruit delivered each day, for example, so fruit plates often vary by the day. Viviane is further elevated by its environment. Located in the heart of Avalon Beverly Hills, Viviane is adjacent to the pool, where you can swim if you dine in the restaurant. You can also reserve a cabana or sit in one (if there is not one already reserved/occupied). All in all, for a fun, quick, delicious, and healthy bite, look no further!

Yelp
My friends and I had a lovely poolside dinner yesterday (Friday) at Viviane in the Avalon Hotel. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful, and every other staff member, kind and attentive. We dined on shared appetizers of avocado tangine, roasted mushrooms, brussel sprouts, and sweet potato fries. It was all very fresh and delicious. (Of course, we added wine and a slice of chocolate cake to our selections.) The ambience was perfect. We sat in our own canopied section beside the pool, with calm lighting and quiet co-diners. Viviane is one of our favorite dining spots on the weekends.
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
Viviane had a really nice vibe on a weeknight and was a nice place to catch up with friends! They have heat lamps for the outdoor patio and free valet parking. The wine selection is pretty well curated and they offer a nice variety of cocktails if that's more your speed. The desserts are also really decadent and worth trying. We had a pleasant server and would recommend Viviane if you're looking for a nice bar with good food and drinks.

Mary K.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! Went here on a whim, had scallops en beurre blanc, outstanding flavor and nice, crispy top. Delicious. Server was also outstanding!

Mercy N.

Yelp
How does this have all these stars, went on Valentine's Day, they had a special menu, the food was bad except dessert, the service terrible, inexperienced waiter and super slow, got there at 7:30 pm and left at 10pm, but not by choice, we had planned to be there for only half an hour. And valet parking sucked too!!! You get out of your car at the front of the hotel but there is no signage that you pick it up behind so we stood there for 15 minutes in the cold waiting for a valet who never came. They also add a service charge, and wellness charge to your bill. They added items to our bill but thank God we caught it so be sure to check or simply don't go here. A waste of an evening and certainly the worst dinning experience in 10 years

Yelp
Met some friends here for dinner. Very nice restaurant inside the Avalon hotel. We were seated right by the pool which was super nice but a little scary - I am a bit clumsy so I would totally fall in the pool. I asked the waiter if anyone's ever fallen and surprisingly no one has. This place is fairly new so we shall see... Anyways, I was the first one so I was waiting a bit for my friends. The staff is super nice and the ambiance is really nice. Since I knew both friends would be late, I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and the marinated olives and spiced nuts, which was pretty tasty. When my friends got there, we decided to share the 1/2 Roasted Chicken with dumplings, the Ricotta Ravioli, two salads - the rainbow beat salad and the asian pear and chicory salad and of course a side of fries. The fries and salads came out first and all was delicious. So were our main courses - the chicken was very juicy and tender. Overall a top notch place. A little pricey for my taste but definitely enjoyed every aspect of the meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Don't let the awesome location at the Avalon Hotel with great ambience and decor fool you. This is the worst attempt of a happy hour ever. I call it UN-Happy Hour I did not eat lunch or dinner here but based in the menu and prices for happy hour here, I don't expect to be back I had the Bahn Mi sandwich that was decent but this was 10 or 12 dollars and at a happy hour it should have been 5 or 6 dollars The deviled eggs were beautiful but were awful tasting. (My favorite in the city are at South Beverly Grill). Plus they also were a rip off for happy hour The salmon on bread was decent but again their happy hour price was more than what a regular menu cost should have been We had tea and coffee and the bill without tip was about 58 dollars. There was nothing to get happy about here

Yelp
This is a review for Dine LA! Overall: Viviane is serving delicious food, but I wish there was a tad more creativity. Most of the dishes were straightforward and fairly classic. The service is good as expected, and the restaurant is wonderful. It's a must go to for dinner dates. Food: 4 Warm New Potato Salad included roasted young onions, horseradish, and steelhead trout caviar. They did a surprisingly great take on a classic dish that was delicious. It had all the flavors of a roasted potato salad. The potatoes were tender but not mushy, and the caviar added the right touch of saltiness. Foie gras mousse was sprinkled with peppercorns and included a citrus preserve and brioche toast. Together, all the elements went well together. By itself, the preserve was tart and bitter with a hint of sweetness. With the foie gras and peppercorns, it was the perfect bite. Filet Mignon Carpaccio included celery root, pickled mustard seed, and pan fried croutons. This was also a wonderful dish. The flavors were well balanced and the croutons added the right amount of crunch. Poached Arctic Char included a variety of brassicas. It was a simple dish, but it was good. There was a vegetable puree similar to mashed potatoes (maybe it was potatoes...my memory isn't too good), and a tomato-lobster jus. The sauce was delicious with the fish, which was well cooked. Crispy Duck Leg Confit included turnips and a jus. This was a very classic French dish. The duck was crispy and juicy, and the jus was delicious. It's a good dish for any duck lover. Dark Chocolate Pave was topped with milk chocolate mousse and included a confiture of kumquats, citrus preserve, and blood orange sauce. This was good, even if it wasn't too surprising. The chocolate mousse was a tad too sweet, but the bitterness and tartness of the citruses balanced it out a little. Meyer Lemon Tart included a huckleberry compote. I'm not a fan of lemon tarts, but I thought this was delicious. It wasn't overpoweringly tart, but the lemon flavors were still present. The huckleberry compote went well with it. Service: 4 The service was ok. Our waitress was patient in explaining how their Dine LA menu worked, but it was sometimes hard to get her attention for things like the bill. The food came out at a decent pace, but I wish that the dishes came out one by one, since they are meant to be shared anyways. Ambiance: 5 I love this restaurant. It's modern but classy, and it seems like a great place for a date. The restaurant is mostly glass with a view of the pool at the center of the hotel. Around the pool, there are little cabanas where you can sit and order food. We opted for inside seats because it was a tad too cold for me to be outside.

Yelp
We had brunch here today at around 10:30 am. Pros: - free valet! - super easy to get a table and the restaurant was close to empty (I think it's more popular during dinner) - very friendly and quick service - nice outdoor setting by the pool - kid-friendly (they had a coloring kit for my toddler) - the biscuits were good! Cons: - the food was good but my salmon tartine didn't wow me. I think the dinner menu might be better. I wish there were more "breakfasty" options with eggs for pescetarians (they were more for meat eaters). Would probably stop by for dinner or drinks the next time. I'm sure it looks pretty cool at nighttime with the pool.

Yelp
Came here for brunch on a Saturday. Lovely outdoor mid-century modern setting by the pool but horribly slow service and food that was disappointingly only ok, especially considering the price. My in-laws both wanted the crispy fried pork belly and eggs, and though it was probably 11 o'clock by the time we placed our order, we were told that the pork belly wouldn't be ready for a long time (brunch service started at 10) and they should order something else. My husband ordered a ginger lime soda and they took so long bringing it that he asked to swap out his order for a coffee. Maybe 15-30 minutes later the waitress came by with the soda and said it had already been made, so they nicely comped it for us. It was very tasty, by the way. It just seemed like communication between the front of the house and the back left something to be desired. I had the king crab and asparagus poached farm eggs on grilled brioche. It was good but hardly worth raving about, and the portion of king crab didn't seem to warrant the $28 price tag. Child had the lemon ricotta pancakes (with strawberries instead of the champagne macerated berries). They were ok but again nothing to write home about - definitely pale in comparison to some of the other restaurants that serve some form of ricotta pancakes, such as BLD or Bottega Louie.

Yelp
Very nice casual lunch. Southern Californian style around the hotel pool. Excellent cocktail accompanied with really crispy sweet potato fries and crisp Cobb salad. Warm heaters keep you warm should you feel a little "chilly". Relaxing lunch with no pressure service.

Yelp
**SOLID, PRETTY BRUNCH SPOT** Celebrated our Easter brunch here. PARKING ======== We walked, but there is valet and street. AMBIANCE ========= Elegant retro with lots of bright whites. The pool is the featured focus around the hotel. The small bar with green leathered stools is Sinatra beautiful. FOOD ===== ROASTED CHICKEN SANDWICH - $15 Avocado, Nueske's Bacon, Romaine, tomato, and french fries all together were very good. Loved the bacon and the freshness of the avocado and the greens. RATING: 4/5 Had a refreshing mezcal-based cocktail for $13. Brunch for 2 with one drink was around $70, including tip. Not exactly cheap, but it's not that expensive, considering the quality of food and ambiance. SERVICE ======== Super friendly, always checked on us. RATING: 5/5 OVERALL ======== One of my favorite spots in Beverly Hills. Will show them more love via Happy Hour. RECOMMEND.

Yelp
Wonderful space for a casual meal. You may want to choose a poolside table, especially for brunch. Nice to be out in the fresh air, and it's less noisy than sitting Came here with a group for a dineLA Restaurant Week lunch, and we all very much enjoyed the food here. Asian pear & chicory salad was very light and refreshing. The crispy fennel gave it a nice crunch and added saltiness to it, and it was quite a large portion for an appetizer salad. I had the ragout of winter squash, which was delicious. The chili vinegar sauce added a nice kick to the grits, and I recommend that you mix it into the grits thoroughly so that you don't end up with just only a couple of bites with that spicy kick like I did. Service here was attentive, though it would have been nice for our server to check in to see if we were doing fine or if we were ready for the next course rather than to wait for us to try and flag her down. Complimentary valet parking with the hotel.

Yelp
Been here once for lunch and once for brunch. Super cute, retro / post-modern atmosphere and feel. I like the interior decorations and furnishings. The food is good but not exceptional. The presentation is nice. We got the pancakes w fresh berries and the Eggs Benedict. The pancakes were soggy and overly syrupy. The Eggs Benedict were much better and I enjoyed the dish minus the poached eggs were slightly overcooked but nothing unforgivable. The hollandaise sauce was very nice and light- not overpowering. The dish also had spinach in it- which I did not mind and rather enjoyed but this traditionally makes the dish Eggs Florentine instead of Benedict... but I'm getting into technicalities now...

Yelp
Such a pretty spot for brunch! We came here on a Sunday morning and surprisingly there were not that many people. The pool area is so nice and very good for photos. It was my birthday and the waiter was so patient when we asked him to help us take photos. The food was pretty good, just your typical brunch food. Come here for the nice environment! We told them it was my birthday and we got an amazingly rich piece of brownie for free. Overall, a great experience!

Yelp
Great for lunch meetings, post-work evening drinks/snacks, or for a pool lounge if you're unemployed on a nice sunny LA day (from what I witnessed today -- yes, maybe a little jealous). I came here for a lunch work meeting. I had a reservation, but still got seated immediately upon walking in. If it's nice out, I'd highly recommend sitting outside. And if you want a more private vibe, definitely call ahead (day before or a couple days before is all you need) and ask for an outside cabana. I'm docking one star here because it took probably 15 minutes for a server to come by and get our orders. Granted, it was very busy during prime lunch hour and the pool area was full of kids running around so I understand, but still took a little longer than I'd expect even under those circumstances. I ordered the salmon fish tacos. They were so tasty and PERFECT for a hot day. Very refreshing. I love a fish taco, so I appreciated the little crunch the fish had and the shredded cabbage and salsa also tasted very fresh. We were able to pay the check very quickly, which made up for the time we waited for our orders to be taken. Will definitely be back and will definitely get the fish tacos again!

Yelp
Some thoughts for this spot. Given that you're in Los Angeles, you're going to get asked a lot for gluten free options. TIP: You have a great grain bowl on the breakfast menu but for some strange reason you've added farro, a non gluten free grain, to quinoa and rice, two gluten free grains. If its a three grain effect you're looking for - you could simply add millet or amaranth. Then all your grains would be gluten free. OR you could just have quinoa and rice mix (like Cafe Gratitude) - both of these being gluten free. Having your three grains mixed together - premixed that is - - with no option to leave out the one that gluten intolerant diners cannot eat - means that this dish isn't even an option for your gluten free diners. Shame. TIP: buy some loaves of gluten free sliced bread from Rising Hearts bakery in Culver City, who supply all of Mendocino Farms for their sandwiches. Freeze them. When anyone asks for gluten free toast - voila ! You'll have it for them. #easy With some very simple extra thoughtfulness, the menu here could be a lot more friendly to a lot more diners.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for DineLA event and also celebrating my early birthday. We came earlier so the whole place was all to ourselves. Few hotel guests were sunbathing and few were in the pool. It was a very nice and quiet spot for a Sunday afternoon/evening. DineLA menu: First Course I had the Jumbo Lump Crab & Uni (I asked them to removed Uni for me and just get me crab), and my friend had Sweet Corn Fritters. Jumbo Lump Crab was very refreshing. lemon and cold crab spaghetti was a very good match. Sweet Corn Fritters was almost like a dessert. Second Course Me: Pan Seared Branzino Filet: crispy skin and the vegetable carpaccio was tasty to go with the fish. Friend: Wild Mushroom & Summer Vegetable Risotto: risotto was well cooked, not too hard and not soggy. Consistency was also pretty good, I didn't feel it had too much cheese to overwhelm other favor. Dessert Me: Chocolate Mousse: rich chocolate to satisfy my chocolate love, and I really like the crumble on top (almost like cereal bowl but with chocolate mousse. Yum!) Friend: Eton Mess: really good for summer, looks beautiful and taste light and refreshing. The staff was super nice, friendly. And they have complimentary valet parking at the hotel. The entrance is a little hard to find, I missed it the first time. Cute and Intimate place! Some people booked the lounge seating area for engagement party, super cute.
