The Hit List: New Seattle Restaurants To Try Right Now - Seattle - The Infatuation

"This semi-upscale Chinese restaurant from Mercer Island has expanded Downtown. The result? A satisfying group meal in a lush space that doesn’t involve the same rigamarole as nearby Din Tai Fung, which is a huge win for the neighborhood. Gingery pork buns and black garlic-slicked wontons are crushable. Toothpick-fastened cumin lamb is just as tender as it is tear-jerking. And the forbidden roast duck, complete with sesame-swirled hoisin and sweet caramelized lemon, is a shining standout—and we’re not just saying that because the skin glistens from overhead lighting. Keep Vivienne’s in your front pocket for pre-theater dinners or a celebratory Saturday lunch." - aimee rizzo, gabe guarente, kayla sager riley, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, gabe guarente, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, gabe guarente, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo, aimee rizzo

The BEST roast duck! The lemon is a unique touch I don’t know how I lived without. Also had delicious Lobster Rangoon appetizer (we ate two before taking the photo, sorry 😊), honey walnut shrimp and garlic pea vine for our vegetable. Fun cocktails too! Our server Ting was so sweet and took great care of us. Really excited to have Vivienne’s Bistro open downtown after going a few times to the Mercer Island location.

Had an amazing dinner at this place. Not sure what I expected, but it wasn’t this. Best Chinese food I’ve ever had! Even the vegetables were next level. My table shared the forbidden duck and the braised ribs. The skin on the duck was so crispy! It did not disappoint. And the ribs were tender and flavorful. I also had the duck fat old fashioned. It was soooo good and savory. Ting was our server, and she was delightful. Can’t wait to go back.

New Chinese restaurant with many old favorites and some interesting new twists. We started with dumplings and then had the Nine Flavor Beef (on a bed of bean sprouts), crispy and spicy green beans, and crispy pork belly. It was all cooked perfectly and presented beautifully. We enjoyed everything! Our server, Tracy W. helped us through the menu, and made sure everything was awesome. Great place, it's great to have a good Chinese restaurant downtown again.

We too had Issaac as our waitstaff!!! Awesome guy! We've been to Vivienne's Mercer Island and the food was great. We've been looking forward to trying this new location and finally got to have the opportunity. We had Lobster Rangoon, BBQ pork buns, Honey Walnut Prawns, Orange Peel Beef, and Green Beans, with cocktails and desserts. The prawns are the largest and best preparation we've had anywhere. Everything was super fresh and well done. Atmosphere is fun, clean and upscale. No greasy spoon Chinese food here. Highly recommend.

Came here for my birthday lunch and loved the experience. Upscale restaurant with fancy vibe. The food was very tasty (Peking Duck was even better than what I had it Beijing). Our waiter - Isaac - was very helpful and provided us with great suggestions and made me feel well taken care of. Something I would love the restaurant to consider is the possibility of reimbursing parking for dining-in guests as the only way we could park around this location was to go to one of the parking garage nearby.

The duck was the star, and everything else was well executed and very tasty. They still have some logistical kinks to work out (slow drink service/received on 3rd dish, order of serving/crudo came last even after duck, out of beer), otherwise very promising.

Vivienne's Bistro is a Chinese food restaurant in the Seattle area with a couple locations now, this one being in downtown Seattle on 6th Ave. You can park at the WAC across the street for a small price but that's probably the closest you'll get since street parking here can be a pain. Inside, they have dozens of tables, although it's best to make a reservation since it gets packed most nights. It's a very open space with plenty of room, but the open kitchen also means food cokes out fast once it's ready. It's best to eat here family style, or getting a lot of plates and sharing so you can try everything. The menu here is a good size and prices are relatively good considering the great taste and the good portion sizes you get. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you don't get the duck, but other things to try are the fried rice, garlic green beans, kalbi short ribs, crispy pork belly, shishito peppers, braised beef short ribs and the lamb. The service here is phenomenal, such great and friendly staff. Overall this is a great place for a big family or friend group, or just two people.

A friend in our group suggested this place for a late joined birthday get together so we all went last night. The restaurant is beautifully decorated without being over the top, relatively busy but wasn't too crowded (we had reservation at 6pm Friday evening). We ordered a lot of food including. The Peiking duck, honey walnut prawns, fried pork belly, chef noodle, wood ear and cucumber salad and bunch more. I was pleased that it wasn't oily or overly seasoned and the taste was just right. The rice we asked for was a bit dry and came later when some of the food was served. The mocktails were delicious. Our table's waitor Isaac was attentive, nice and made us feel welcome and went taken care of! The establishment seemed rather "new" so they haven't gotten their drink list or dessert menu worked out yet, and sometimes I saw the disconnection in communication among servers, bar. I'm sure they'll work out the logistics and way, and we'll definitely be back to try other dishes!
