"Mexican cafe and bakery Vivir’s morning menu features chilaquiles verde, breakfast tacos, avocado tostadas, and more. To end breakfast on a sweet note, save room for chocolate mole cupcakes or a guava roll." - Justine Jones, Stacy Brooks

"Vivir is a part-market stocked with goods by local and Mexican makers, and a part-counter-service cafe with a bright green-tiled bar. The oversized burrito stuffed with your choice of meat (our favorite is the chorizo) or scrambled eggs is one of the best all-day-breakfast deals in town, the duck carnitas tacos are the antithesis of a sad desk lunch, and the spicy hot chocolate with coconut milk, cayenne, cinnamon, and vanilla is the perfect thing to pair with it all. Don’t overlook the baked goods, like cinnamon rolls with guava paste, mole chocolate cupcakes, and masa cookies loaded with rainbow sprinkles." - Stacy Brooks

Great, lively atmosphere, most brilliant margaritas ever, and fabulous, creative menu options! I dropped one star on food because I wish my rice had more fresh cilantro and lime, and I wish my roasted cauliflower had been roasted to smithereens (that’s just how I like it). Overall, a great place to hang if I were a local!

Google
Me and the Bestie finally had the opportunity to try Vivir and it did not disappoint! Everything that we ordered was delicious and amazing! I was looking for something with more flavorful options and this hit the spot! We had the Salsa Flight and Fried Avocado (I will definitely be getting that Fried Avocado again) and then we each had the 3 taco platter with sides. Elote was so good and each flavorful taco was absolutely delicious! Loved loved loved the shrimp taco!! Jocelyn was our waitress and she made us the best margarita flights, presentation was on point for the drinks!! She was very kind and made sure we had our water refilled and enough chips…great service!!! Atmosphere is colorful and fun, very clean! I can’t wait to go back!

The food and atmosphere of Vivir is nothing short of fantastic. I visited here when it first opened and admittedly, I was not impressed. The food was bland and the diversity in flavor was lacking. I decided to give it another try and let me tell you it was a totally different experience! I probably come here a few times per month now to enjoy the delicious tacos! The price tag may be a little high but is soon forgotten when your palate is attacked by the fresh cuisine that Vivir has to offer. I was able to speak with restaurant staff and I found out that they recently hired a new chef who completely revamped the menu. I got the opportunity to speak with him several times and he and his staff know their stuff. The chef carefully sources and hand selects the freshest ingredients he can find and even processes much of the meat and fish himself! You will also want to try some of the house made hot sauces that include some of the most decadent and popping flavors. He is very involved and takes pride in his dishes. Please support Vivir and give it a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Google
A very odd restaurant experience. I attempted a carry out order Saturday evening; I placed the order in person, paid for the order, and waited 40+ minutes. The order was never filled, so I requested a refund, which they provided and I departed; went next door to Findlay Brewing, order was place and provided in 15 minutes. At Vivir, they are very nice people, clean looking location; Really am at a loss here, they were properly staffed, it was not busy, (after 9pm) not sure why it took 40+ minutes. Can only think they lost the order?, or do not think they really understood what carry encompasses; very strange. Well, will never go back. Oh well, live and learn.

Google
Loved it! The place was bright and clean, and the layout was appealing. Our server was very friendly and on the ball and oh my gosh, the food! We tried four different tacos, three different appetizers, 4 different cocktails and then churros for dessert and everything was deelish! If I had to give one critique I'd say the chips were a bit too salty for my taste. Other than that, everything was great! Vivir did not dissapoint and we'll definitely be back!

Google
It was our first time & it was delicious! We started with the salsa and chip flight, it was delicious. My parents got the bowls they said they were very good. I got two street tacos (steak) on corn tortillas and YUM!! My kids are the pickiest eaters they picked. Our service was great our waitress was amazing she gave me the kindest note ever! As a single mom it was/is SOOO nice for a stranger to say such nice words. We will definitely be returning I still have the taste of the tacos in my mouth they were so good. The drink was a Horchata it was the best I’ve had.

Google
Absolutely wonderf9ul dining experience. Every single time. The food is colorful, fresh and above all tastes fantastic. The building and atmosphere is fun and vibrant. The staff is always excellent. Oh and the drinks! Premium flavor and so smooth. You seriously can't go wrong with any choice! Last night we enjoyed taco Tuesday with a $20 margaritas pitcher, 3 tacos each, queso fundido and guacamole. Our daughter had the largest most flavorful quesadilla we've ever seen and cilantro lime rice! The salsa was fresh and the creme the perfect cool. My favorite taco would have to be "The Chorizo One" tied with "The Al Pastor One" but seriously ALL of them are flavorful and fresh! If you get a chance to visit Vivir Modern Mexican you will want to go again and again and again! It's definitely became one of our very favorite restaurants in Northwest Ohio!

Google
Exceptional atmosphere, food okay, neat menu and a cocktail book with interesting facts about the building. There is even a hidden book in the wall they invite you to find and write in. Food was okay; chicken was dry. "The Findlay" taco was pretty good though. Margherita flight was yummy. Only one server on a Friday night. She did well considering, but felt bad it was all on her. Drinks and entrees sat out for a while.

Yelp
Very cool atmosphere. Waiter was very welcoming considering we showed up right as the place opened. ..very polite, great service. My review is heavily based on value. Three street, tacos two sides for both of us. A can of beer. And a margarita (a smaller glass). Chips and queso. After a 20 percent tip the check was about 94 dollars! The pictures you will find of the food online looks good. I don't care for "fancy" but this place is marketed to look a little more up scale than your run of the mill Taco joint. It almost seemed like the food was from what was left over the day before. The tortillas were obviously stale. One of the tacos was entirely not edible consisting of pulled chicken that was so dry and crusty you couldn't swallow it, topped with wet iceberg lettuce. We chose rice for one of the sides..it clearly sat at least over night very dried out and kinda crunchy. None of it t was good. I hate to leave a bad review for a local business. Even if this food was great it would not be worth close to 100 dollars for two people. I have no issue with spending money on a nice dining experience but we left feeling pretty ripped off.

Yelp
I stopped in for lunch and was stunned to have the place to myself. The weather was pretty bad and most of Findlay was dead so I didn't panic. I'm glad I didn't! I had three tacos, the Findlay, chorizo, and cauliflower with a side of black beans and elote. All of my food was delicious but the cauliflower taco really stood out! Who would have thought? The staff was very friendly, explaining dishes and offering house-made hot sauces. I really enjoyed the music and relaxed atmosphere. If Vivir were in my hometown in SC it would be a massive hit. Let's hope the folks in Findlay fill this spot up! Arriba, abajo, al centro, pa dentro!

Amanda H.

Yelp
Food was amazing, despite waiting 1 hr and 45 mins to get our food. The server was friendly and attentive. We had a horrible experience and interaction with the manager. We will not return.

Kyle H.

Yelp
Came here years ago, and didn't have a good experience. I tried it again recently, and it was amazing. Food, service, and atmosphere were top notch.

Whitney B.

Yelp
Food here is unreal!! Best Mexican food in town. I came in recently with my husband for lunch. I had the chorizo taco, perfect amount of spice. My husband has the quesadilla and said it was perfect. Staff was friendly and helpful. Margaritas were phenomenal too

DaLone P.

Yelp
The overall ambiance is pleasant and vibrant. Then, the food is usually delectable, although a little pricey for smaller portions. Where as the service can be spot on, there are extreme inconsistencies in staffing that lead to differentiating experiences. That is, you can't always count on the doors being open, or if your order will be timely.

Kortney S.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere with bright colors and different textures! The ambiance is outstanding along with the art work. One of the cleanest restaurants (and bathrooms) in Findlay ! You can feel the love and energy put into every detail (again the bathroom ! You must use the bathroom!) I ordered the Mexican iced coffee ! It was presented so well with the tiny cream glass and sugar dish definitely got me excited for the rest of the meal! The coffee had lots of cinnamon and red chilies in it, If you like those spices you'll love this coffee. Down side would be the chili seeds floating throughout the drink but straining it might be suggested by some however I didn't mind them too much. Then I ordered the fried avocado in perfect tempura batter with a spice dipping sauce . I have a higher spice tolerance so to me the sauce was tasty and perfect but some may think it is spicy I also tried the cauliflower taco and jackfruit taco. They were good . Cauliflower was a strong cumin flavor. Was hoping for something a little different. I would love to try some other items on the menu but would probably not order the cauliflower or jackfruit again.

Yelp
So this place is finally open! The owner has travelled around the world...from Mexico City to LA to study what true, authentic Mexican food is. And he delivers! Where else can you find Mezcal, Gospacho, El Pastor, Seitan? How about Pazole and Churros? Agua Fresca? Think food you'd have a hard time finding in most big cities of the Midwest....all in one place...all right here. Oh and they have an awesome assortment of Mexican and Mexican inspired beers, margaritas, and unique cocktails. And they have tons of vegetarian options. I ended up getting the Or Xaca beer which was an awesome mix of a blonde ale and horchata! After...chips and guac (which yes does come in its own stone mortar and pestle). I got their Al Pastor, Seitan, and Narajna tacos. I tried my friends Premo Marg (which comes in an awesome stone glass). And concluded it all with some churros! All their food was really good! My favs were the Al Pastor and Churros! The Al Pastor comes with grilled pineapple which is an amazing accompaniment and makes the taco! The Churros have a perfect balance of being moist on the inside while being crisp on the outside. These two things rival top popular places I've been to in Chicago and Columbus (I'm not name dropping) where these dishes are known city wide for their quality. And Vivir's are bette So take a risk, try something you can't find anywhere else, have fun. Know you'll get locally sourced, quality food that is made fresh! It's all delish and you can't go wrong!

Yelp
Came into town after traveling 8 to 9 hours from our home in NC. We got there less than 20 minutes before close after being turned away by another establishment. They sat us anyway and were very kind and professional. The food was very delicious and me and my family were very grateful for their willingness to serve us. I would highly recommend the food and service here. Thank you for a great experience!

Lauren H.

Yelp
Great food in a cute area of Findlay. The wait was a bit long, but it was a beautiful night and many people were out dining. The food was worth the wait. Though the restaurant told us that they were short staffed they still did an amazing job getting us everything we needed. I loved my tacos. The guacamole was great and the mixed drinks were perfectly refreshing on a hot summer night. I would definitely visit again.

John L.

Yelp
Great addition to Findlay's best places to eat! I love the decor and atmosphere of the place. Wait staff is always pleasant and friendly, wonderful place to take your family. Fantastic fish tacos and some very creative taco combinations and of course the classics are there as well. Careful with some of the peppers though, they're damn spicy, tricked me into getting some horchata!

Ally L.

Yelp
Ive now been here a few times! I love all of the tequila options! I got the "sir pricks a lot", which was in an adorable cactus cup! We also got chips and Queso, and 6 tacos. My favorite is the Findlay taco. Super cute interior design work and love the colors. Will definitely be back again.

Jacob M.

Yelp
Food was absolutely fantastic. The service was fantastic and the chef took the time to come out of the kitchen and introduce himself. Friendly atmosphere!!!!

Andrea F.

Yelp
I've been here supporting the business since opening, however, I was really disappointed with my experience this evening. There was a social media promise of table side Guac, free chicharrones, was absolutely excited to try the new menu. I really only found a new fried avocado taco and because the staffing was short, we didn't get table side Guac or anything else that was advertised.. maybe remove these options from social media, when you know things are limited? There used to be amazing food on the menu and slowly it's been pulled back or taken away. Tacos were bigger and there were different tortilla selections.. I get things change but this is disappointing. Love the Thyme for Mezcal drink, couldn't get it.. luckily the Primo Margarita is a good second choice, so if you'd like a before dinner drink option this is the place, so besides the margaritas, not sure I'm coming back again for the food menu.

Kristen H.

Yelp
Disappointing experience over all. Seasonal margarita flights were not made as advertised, some of the garnishes were missing. Our server took so long to return to take our order that we decided to skip our appetizer choice. 1 meal was made with the incorrect meat and took longer than acceptable to remake, in fact I think the waitress knew that because she served it to me in a to go box. She did apologize and took that item off our bill. The service was friendly, but inattentive, slow and lacked attention to detail. A party of 6 near us left as it took too long for them to even get their waters, not a busy night just poor quality service. We have been here before and it has been much better, but this experience drops the stars quite a bit.

Bonnie V.

Yelp
As many others, I had such high hopes for this place because the decor and vibe it gives. Service is everything and don't expect it here AT ALL. The service here is THE WORST service I have ever had in all of Findlay. I sat at the bar and we were never given menus or even a simple "hello". We had to grab our own menus, shout out what we wanted to drink then shout out what we wanted to eat. Already pretty upset about the bartender not acknowledging us at all, I almost walked out but my husband insisted we should at least try it. Only got chips and dip because I did not even want to waste my time. Then the chips were SALTY AF! Seriously..... why so salty? Everything was disappointing, the service SUCKED so much. The hostess was nice and actually made convo but seriously, get a new bartender or put her in the back. Note: I do want to add that the bartender repeatedly told me I could not afford a shot of the Clase Azul because it was way too expensive. I'd give only 1 star but hey, they get 2 for decor and the nice hostess.

Yelp
Vivir catered our wedding at Scarlett Oaks in October, and I would not hesitate to recommend them. The owner (Joey) was an absolute dream to work with. He was super professional but also fun to deal with leading up to the wedding. We met with Joey a couple of times to discuss the menu, layout, services, etc. Once he had a good idea of our expectations, he executed the service and trouble shot any issues on the day without bothering us on the day. Everyone was well fed and happy. The food Vivir served on the day was phenomenal. They really are a cut above any other Mexican restaurant around. We still get compliments from guests 2 months on from the wedding. I absolutely would recommend Vivir, and I would trust Vivir/Joey 100% to cater any event we might have in the future.

Kyle N.

Yelp
Went to Vivir the Monday after they opened so I'm cutting them some slack with a 3-star. Had High Hopes (Panic! At the Disco style) for this place and was disappointed with the result. Let's start positive. The place is really cute and has a big city restaurant feel which is somewhat unique to Findlay. Also, the homemade chips and salsa were good (albeit too few chips for the price of the app). For downsides, I have to start with the thing everyone is going there for...the tacos! Man, when reading the menu, so many of them jumped off the page. I ordered the Al Pastor, the Carne Asada, and the Chorizo (3 for $12) and my wife got three shrimp tacos (that nights special). We were so excited. When our tacos showed up the first comment at the table was, "oh, those are smaller than we thought", although I admit that by meals end, with the chips and salsa beforehand, I wouldn't have wanted more. The real disappointment came when we ate the tacos. They were bland. No other way to describe them really than just "meh". They weren't inedible, but they kind of all just tasted the same and didn't have any flavors that made me think it was $12 well spent. Aside from the tacos, the drinks and apps were a little pricey. Now, we didn't have any drinks and I'm sure those are delicious, but just browsing we were scared off by a simple margarita costing $9. Maybe I'm just a penny-pincher but if you get a simple chips and salsa app, a couple 3 for $12s, and a couple drinks, be prepared for a $60+ dinner. I have no problem with that if the food is good but sadly it just wasn't. I truly hope that it improves because I love the idea, but until then, for higher priced apps and drinks, there are other places in town with better food that I'll default towards.

N D.

Yelp
Delicious bowls and margaritas! Also great atmosphere! Will definitely return! A little pricey but oh well.

Dwight M.

Yelp
We recently ate at Vivir, on a wet Thursday. I tried the Carne Asada taco with cilantro-lime rice. Both were exceptional dishes! The tortilla was different, but very good and complimented the beef filling. The taco was quite delicious and went very well with the rice. My first taste ever of cilantro-lime rice was a burst of flavors, and a light rice with lots of fresh cilantro and a sublime delicate hint of lime. Tried the churros for dessert. Served piping hot with a thick fudgy sauce made dinner at Vivir a first time pleasure. Do try this Findlay modern Mexican dishes and I hope to see you there!

Brian B.

Yelp
AMAZING!!!!!!! Totally worth the drive from Lima. We have been wanting to come up and try this place out. The food was amazing! Best Tacos around. Never had a margarita that tasted so good. We will definitely be back and tell all of our friends about this place. New favorite place for tacos and queso!

Jenna W.

Yelp
our server was nice, but she never checked on us. Our overall wait time from being seated to ordering drinks and an appetizer was an hour long. They were severely understaffed. our chips were wet and undercooked and our queso fundido was a puddle of grease. the decorations were absolutely stunning but that's really all they had going for them. will not be back for a long time. I'm severely disappointed because I was so excited to try it!

David C.

Yelp
I have been here twice in the last week and would gladly go back again tomorrow. The food is well seasoned and tasty. The salsa flight is worth the $5 it's delicious with a wide variety of spice and flavors. The queso is delicious and worth subbing into your flight. The chicken mole is one of the best I've ever had. The shrimp and dumplings are something I've never seen before but the broth had a delicious depth of flavor with a great balance of acid and umami and the dumplings were light and delicious. While the service was a slow the head chef came to our table each night to serve, take our order, and assist with whatever was needed. While I hope they solve the slow service treat it as a long evening to enjoy with friends. I've traveled around the country and love Mexican food. This is some of the best around. Well worth the cost and the wait.

Jay J.

Yelp
Vivir will be my go to for Mexican. Food is amazing ceviche is fantastic. Come summer this will become my go to spot. A cold chalada (or 2) and ceviche.

Jamie R.

Yelp
Definitely a gem among all the somewhat same ole comfort food that dominates the area. We tried a variety of tacos: chorizo, papas con rajas (potato and carrot), carne asada, mole, and cochinita pibil. The chorizo was the only one I didn't care for as there was not a lot of flavor and the texture reminded me more of a Taco Bell taco. Hopefully that doesn't deter anyone from trying this place because the rest of the tacos were awesome. We also got the black beans which were super tasty. They gave us a variety of hot sauce and salsa that was all great with super crunchy salty chips to go with. BUT the absolute best part of our order were the CHURROS!!! So good, y'all!! They taste authentic and homemade with chocolate dipping sauce. Definitely check this place out if you're in the area and are looking for a great bite to eat.

Melvins M.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised. My girlfriend brought me here (I don't like going new places) and I was impressed. Everything is good, highly recommend.

Candace B.

Yelp
My gf and I happened upon this adorable Mexican place while walking downtown Findlay. The decor is eclectic but charming. It's a very clean and courteous establishment. We ordered a pitcher of their kumquat margaritas and they didn't disappoint. Super delicious. We had Emily as our server and she was awesome! Very sweet, not overly bothersome, and gave great recommendations on what to order. I had the quesadilla with chicken mole and wowza!!! So yummy, flavorful, and I had tons leftover for the next day to share with my family! We would highly recommend this local establishment!

Missi E.

Yelp
Stopped by Vivir on their first official day open!! $4 carne asade tacos were awesome!! Horchata was good Had pepitas for the first time and loved them!! Overall, seating, atmosphere, and service was great!! Welcome to the neighborhood!!

Kyle R.

Yelp
We tried this place during opening week and didn't think it was that great so we decided to try it again. Unfortunately it still wasn't good. We waited quite some time for someone to speak to us, we weren't offered drinks right away, and the food just wasn't good. My fish tacos were drenched with sauce and the fish had no flavor. My wife and I left the majority of the tacos on the plate which is certainly not like us. In defense of the restaurant, we didn't really give them any chance to correct these errors. We just said everything was fine and left.

Christy A.

Yelp
They used to have good sized tacos for $3. Now The fish taco is the size of a McDonald's chicken nugget and cost four dollars.

Jimmy E.

Yelp
Vivir is one of the few spots in Findlay I trust for high quality food and service. Easily the best Mexican cuisine experience in all of northwest Ohio. I highly suggest trying out items off the vegan menu!

Victoria a.

Yelp
Fish tacos are very good as well as the fried avocado, was not a fan of the black beans nor the rice. My only note is the two times I have eaten here it has not been consistent, food was amazing the first time and then the second was not correct and lacked flavor. Overall a really fun option for Mexican in a Findlay

Gary C.

Yelp
Had high hopes for this place judging by the decor and menu. I had 3 types of meat tacos, the al pastor, the carne asada, and the mole. First thing that struck me is the temperature of the tacos were like they had been sitting for about 15 min. Also true of the chips, not warm at all! The Carne Asada tacos were very tasty, however the other 2 lacked any punch of flavor. I was expecting more, especially from an al pastor taco. The restaurant was not very busy, but it took a while for my food to get to the table. The absolute bummer of the night was the churros. The churros were so hard I could not eat them. It is basically similar to a French pastry dough Pate a choux. The dough was overworked and very dense...Inedible. Very sad!.... I was looking forward to eating them, I just ate the chocolate sauce. I would love to see this place shine, but it does not make the cut for this guy!

Mary C.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this place out but left rather disappointed. Honestly the food wasn't that flavorful. Except the elotes were COVERED with sooooo much salt and pepper. I had to scrape it off to make it edible. My coworkers had rice bowls and said they were bland. I did three tacos for $12. I had the Cauliflower Dreamin, Naranja, and Pescado. The Pescado would have been better if the pineapple were chopped up more and spread out better. The cauliflower dreaming seemed surprisingly bland considering it was seasoned with blackening seasoning. The Naranja one also didn't have as much flavor as expected and was cold, which I also didn't expect. The one bright spot was the horchata that I had to drink (unspiked version). That was delicious. I also really want them to succeed, so I hope their food improves!

Liz N.

Yelp
Best Mexican food we have had outside of Mexico. Fresh made guac the best I have ever had. Fresh margaritas, VERY good. We did the 12 tacos for $39, for 4 people, could not finish them. So nice to have authentic, freshly prepared food.

Macy L.

Yelp
Vivir has improved a lot since opening day. I had the cod tacos and really enjoyed it and would go back. I don't think opening day is reflective of their quality as a restaurant! Worth a second try.

Katie K.

Yelp
Was very excited to try Vivir, the menu resembled one that you would find in a larger city but the food resembled something you would find in a cafeteria. Started the meal with the salsa trio and it was brought to the table with a handful of chips and an apology, as the restaurant had run out of tortilla chips. The appetizer was graciously removed from our bill. The menu descriptions simply did not match the quality of the food... went here with my family and sampled an array of tacos, both vegetarian and meat varieties, none of which lived up to expectations. Two-thirds of the food was delivered to the table cold. Multiple entrees did not match the description on the menu and were missing ingredients. The tacos were also VERY small for their price. Our server was very accommodating and offered to bring alternate entrees for the meals that were simply not worth trying to finish. The service and decor were fantastic, but unfortunately the actual dining part of the experience was not enjoyable...

Michael L.

Yelp
Very good Mexican fare. A definite plus for the Findlay restaurant scene. An interesting menu and all of our groups selections were very tasty. Staff was friendly and attentive. Also very impressed with the tequila menu. We all gave the evening a thumbs up and will all be back.

Becky W.

Yelp
This is real Mexican food with a flair. Cauliflower taco excellent. Corn is excellent. Only suggestion add more fillings to your tacos , waitress to be more attentive and free chips and salsa.

Chuck S.

Yelp
This place hits so hard. Me and my girlfriends favorite place in Findlay. The margs and the green salsa are a night trip worth taking alone.

Damian P.

Yelp
Very good place to try! Love the food! Very different! Excellent Mexican drinks! Very beautiful inside!

Rachel L.

Yelp
The chips and guacamole appetizer was really the highlight of the entire meal - so fresh and delicious. I repeat, the guac is to die for. We also got a pitcher of margaritas and those were appropriately strong, considering the price. (Everything is a too expensive to be honest, and that's the main reason I'm not giving it five stars). The tacos were good but less flavorful than I was hoping for. I got 3 different types of tacos (3 for $12 mix and match) and I honestly could not tell them apart. The churros for dessert were AMAZING. In conclusion, go for the guac and the churros.

Richelle S.

Yelp
This place is just so cute and vibrant and the bar is so beautiful. The vegan options are what brought us in. I had the tofu, seitan, and jackfruit tacos. My husband also tried the cauliflower taco. They were all very flavorful. My favorite was the bbq jackfruit, yum! I love the other ingredients added to certain tacos like roasted beets, walnuts, and mango. Those additions really make each one unique! Our server recommended subbing the avo crema instead of the cremas on a couple of the tacos to make them vegan. Can't go wrong with avocado! Also loved that the corn tortillas were house made. So much better than any store bought corn tortillas and didn't fall apart. My only complaint is the seitan was wayyyy too salty! Almost inedible. We also tried the guacamole and salsa. Guac could use some more seasoning, mostly it just tasted like mashed avocado. Salsa was good. We'll be back for sure! Would love to try an agua fresca or horchata next time if vegan. Well and a margarita too when I'm not pregnant!

Allyse A.

Yelp
Gave this place a try for a quick workday lunch- wow! I am very picky about guacamole and theirs was HUGE, fresh and delicious, the house made chips were uniquely crunchy and great. The entire staff was friendly and upbeat, and my al pastor taco did not disappoint. I'm only upset that it was not an appropriate time to try a cocktail. The environment is modern and cool- be sure to visit the restroom. Can't wait to return!

Dawn C.

Yelp
Vivir loses a star because of the three times I tried their tacos, twice they were way too spicy for me to taste any flavor...only heat which I unsuccessfully tried to drown with water. (The first time I had them, they were spicy but still good.) Maybe I'm just a wimp. However, I still LOVE this place. I order off the side menu. The avocados and queso are both great. And their churros with chocolate sauce and margarita menu make it worth coming for those alone. It's also charming with lively decor and local. Highly recommend but with a warning if you can't handle too much spice.

Yelp
This place is FANTASTIC!! I love Mexican food so I was really excited to try this place out, and it did not disappoint! Our waiter was friendly and checked in on us frequently (It was a packed house but we never went more than 15 minutes before he popped back and asked us if we were okay). And the food was delicious! The cherry on top is that when I came with my vegetarian sister, she had plenty of options.

Yelp
Shelby the General Manager is awesome. She was our bartender tonight and not only were her mango margaritas amazing, but she was kind, professional, and ran the bar and restaurant well. We didn't eat here tonight (regrettably) but we have in the past and it's also great. I think mango margs will be a regular date night staple. Thanks Shelby

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but the service stunk as did the food. It took at least 30 minutes to get our cocktails. We asked for water about 3 times and it finally came without glasses but luckily our cocktail glasses had been empty for a while. They were out of rice and brought us the wrong appetizer. I would've overlooked most of this but the food was not tasty. I got 3 vegetarian tacos and they were all kind of nasty. The tofu has a gross anise flavor, one of the tacos had massive walnuts that were just odd. Nothing paired well. The chips and guacamole were pretty tasty. It was also expensive. I don't mind paying more for yummy food but, but 3 gross tacos and 2 cocktails shouldn't be $40. Hopefully the service improves but if you're a vegetarian be prepared for yucky food, maybe the meat is tasty?

Yelp
Ambience is great I appreciate the art, the colors and the attention to detail. The food is definitely healthy and feels good in my body. I was feeling sick from driving to get here and the food actually made me feel better and more balanced. I would suggest the mole tacos and elote. The rice and beans are simple and comforting. I also appreciated that the agua fresca was mildly sweetened as opposed to soda by another name. I'd come back
