10 Places to Find Great Bowls of Soup in Ann Arbor

"Many consider pho to be the Vietnamese national dish as it’s enjoyed at all times of the day at households, restaurants, and local street food stalls. Its earthy broth is complemented with rice noodles and meat and is served with garnishes of of herbs, peppers, and other toppings giving the diner the ability customize t their own unique version. V Kitchen does not skimp on the toppings and offers several types of proteins, including a spicy version with three kinds of meat." - John Reyes

First time ordering from V Kitchen while I’m Ann Arbor. Only had reviews to go by when ordering and previous pictures. I ordered via online. What’s up with all these Asian restaurants charging a $1.75 service fee. That’s says “NO” tip. Listen if a restaurant hasn’t covered its credit card transaction fees and online ordering process costs are nothing. On to the food. I ordered the Vermicelli Combo at $17. It’s the picture in the white foam to go container. While the pictures online look good and resembles what I received and the food looks good. I don’t believe for the amount of food you get, the quality of grilled pork which is rubbery and more Char Sui tasting than what Vietnamese people actually cook which is not sweet but chopped grilled pork more like sautéed chopped steak. The pork was tough, terrible sweet flavor and not traditional. The three orange looking shrimp were small too soft but tasted okay. Everything else in the dish was fresh and decent. However the sweetened fish sauce had absolutely no fish sauce flavor. It had been watered down so much it had none of that awesome umami smell we all love from fish sauce and tasted like colored brown sugar water. The garlic noodles I ordered with grilled pork were another disappointment in the black plastic container. First, $16 for this small container. No dice! Maybe $12 value at very most. Fake flavor of garlic in the noodles and that same terrible grilled char sui pork on top. Lo mein style noodles drowning in a dehydrated garlic sauce flavor with rubbery grilled char sui looking pork. I was so psyched about these garlic noodles but I should’ve order the dry Pho Noodles instead. Kind of a bummer. Why are all the great Southeast Asian restaurants closer to downtown Ann Arbor. Exit 175 area of Ann Arbor needs some decent food.

Is this the best Vietnamese in Ann Arbor? Yes. There's not a bad thing on the menu. Personally, I'm a huge fan of the banh mi (combo it up with an egg roll for only a few dollars more) and the Thai iced tea. My spouse loves the vermicelli noodle bowl. Can't go wrong here.

Google
This spot is a town favorite for us, and we've been regulars for years, often visiting twice a week. The food is consistently fresh, and the service is excellent. We're hoping they reintroduce the larger crab rangoons and egg rolls. If you're seeking top-notch Vietnamese cuisine, this is the go-to place in town.

Visited VKitchen - Vietnamese Cuisine in Ann Arbor last night for a meetup hosted by VegMichigan A Vietnamese restaurant with so many delicious and visually appealing vegan meals to choose from. I had the vermicelli bowl with lemongrass tofu, spring rolls, and egg rolls. Ordered the rice combo platter and banh mi (vietnamese sandwich) for takeout which got a thumbs up from the hubs. Also big thanks to my seat neighbors for letting me take pics of their dishes before they ate too.

Google
Pho noodle soup- $16 or 18 . Very poor noodle amount. Taste not recommended. Pho is salty. And meat smell is bad. Without any mention, they charged credit card fee, 3%.

Google
I love your fresh spring roll with hoisin peanut sauce. Also there are plenty of meats inside "your own bowl of Pho." I chose rare steak & brisket. Best Vietnamese cuisine in AA in my opinion!

Google
I had the Vermacelli combo bowl. Notice this is served with a fried egg!! Great twist on lunch that I wasn’t expecting - so, I ordered a second fried egg!! Soft drinks are served in an old fashioned mason jar!! Attention to detail right down to the chandelier!! Service during lunch hour was under 10 minutes!!!!! DELICIOUS VIET NAMESE CUISINE!!!! Make sure to pay them a visit next time you’re in Ann Arbor Michigan.

Google
We like their pho, vermicelli, and rice combo. It is one of our go-to when we are craving for noodle soup.

Yelp
This is a great place for Vietnamese food. I've had their Bahn mi and vermicelli bowls. Most recently, I ordered the vermicelli combo with shrimp, pork, and egg roll. It also comes with veggies like carrots, cucumber, and iceberg lettuce. Next time, I think I would go for just pork and egg roll. The noodles are served cold and would be a refreshing choice for summer. Don't skip the sweet vinegar-y sauce. It's mild and tasty. My husband has no complaints about their pho. The wing appetizer was good, but I wish they had a spicy option.

Yelp
I've been driving past this spot for years and should have kept doing just that. However was looking for an alternative to my go Tomukun but didn't feel like fighting downtown parking/traffic. ....what a disappointment!!! I ordered egg rolls and create your own Pho w/ steak and brisket. Let's start with the good: Everything came out quick and hot!! Bad: The egg rolls were crispy and would have been light as well, had they not been drenched in oil. The Pho meat was sliced super thick and, it was also super tough and hard to chew. The broth was really oily and the table condiments could use a bit of attention as well. I really wanted to like this place BUT....

Yelp
Crab ragoons were burnt and pork sandwich is gross. I will never order from here again

Yelp
The banh mi and shrimp/pork summer rolls I ordered from here recently were quite good although I have yet to gather up the courage to order their pho here again yet lol. The summer rolls were the highlight of my last order here, the skin was perfectly soft and chewy even though I couldn't get to them for a few hours after ordering bc I was busy at work. However bc of the way they were wrapped they stayed nice and soft! There are very few places in A2 that offer banh mi and so far this is probably the best one I've had so far. Curious if the pho has gotten better... maybe I'll need to revisit that soon!

Yelp
The fastest delivery in the area, and my favorite option when I'm feeling a little sick (or hungover). My go-tos, depending on if I'm in a soup or sandwich mood are their VKitchen Pho, and combo meal with a Banh Mi (I always get the Vietnamese Ham and Bologna option) and fresh spring roll. I also like their crab rangoon, house special chicken wings, and crispy tofu. It's not necessarily the most authentic, but really hits the spot when I need a pick me up.

Yelp
Probably one of the better restaurants for pho in Ann Arbor area. It's not the best pho I've had here, but it's definitely my go-to because it's at a convenient location. Interior is clean and well-kept. It's about ~$13 for a bowl of pho (a bit on the smaller side, though). My go-to order is "VKitchen Pho" which comes with all the beef they have available, so pretty standard stuff like brisket, rare steak, meatball, tendon, and tripe. I'd say the meat portion is pretty good! Noodles aren't the thin pho noodles you'd typically see at most pho restaurants. They're wider noodles, but I still think they're delicious and soak up the broth well. Most of the time, the broth is a hit. It's a darker color broth that is quite flavorful - a good mix of beef, seasoning, and onion? Not sure, but I like it. I've gotten the pho to-go a lot during COVID. It's not as good as eating in the restaurant for sure, but still a solid choice if you're craving pho during a work day or something and don't have time to dine in.

Rose O.

Yelp
This was the first time ordering from this restaurant and I was very pleased. I had my order delivered so I don't know how the inside looks like, I ordered Pho with shrimp and it came with noodles, basil, bean sprouts and slices of jalapeño, the ingredients were organized in a separate container and the soup was hot and good flavor. I will order again especially since it's getting colder and the Pho just gets you all warm and cozy.

Yelp
I was putting together the Yelp Collection for our Vietnamese cuisine newsletter and it got me seriously craving some. I had seen V Kitchen in this strip several times so I decided to give it a sho. Everything was great! From the pick up to the meal itself. My husband and I split a few apps--the fried tofu (crispy and delicious and that peanut dipping sauce was amazing) and the shrimp and pork spring rolls (again, that dipping sauce....yum!! And the portion size was HUGE). For my entree, I went with the rice combo platter which came with pork, shrimp, and a fried egg served on rice with a side of veggies and a fish sauce to pour on top. It was really good! My husband went with the lemongrass tofu and he also liked his very much, too! I asked him if the tofu app and the tofu entree was too much tofu and he said not at all since the flavors were so different. For dessert we got two of the rice dishes: the red sweet bean sticky rice and the taro sweet rice. Both come with some coconut milk to put on top. I liked both but the taro was my favorite of the two. Pick up was a breeze. I ordered online and it was ready 20 minutes later. It was packaged up and waiting for me on a table when I arrived so all I had to do was grab and go. We'll definitely be ordering from here again soon!

Michael F.

Yelp
The food is decent. The service is terrible. On my last visit, there were only two tables occupied. I stood waiting for a table for about 10 minutes and was ignored by an employee who brought food to one of the tables, talked and laughed with people at the other table, disappeared into the back, came out and did some more chatting with people at the other table, walked past me again, with his head turned the other way. I left.

Yelp
Solid four or something more. Spring rolls were impressive plump ones with a nice spicy peanut sauce. As was the iced coffee, also very good. The vegetarian pho was somewhat different then I'm used to, with the broth having a citrus element worth enjoying. And not unlike other vegetarian phos, though, was a touch week with the vegetables. Veggie sticky rice, mnm. Overall very good with friendly happy hospitality.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years. The service is reliably friendly and attentive. I come here when I am under the weather want and want nutrients to make me feel better. Or just want to grab a quick, no fuss bite. Food comes out fast. Pho Opportunities - Vermicelli in the pho could be more in sync with the soup. Perhaps salted? Rather than just thrown in at the last minute - Could give a bit more meat - Maybe tone down the sweetness Tips - Take the left over pho soup home Recommendations: - N1/N2 - Pho with rare steak, meat balls, tripe, tendon - A2 - Shrimp spring rolls - C1- Rice combo platter - Banh Mi - with pork - Taro Sticky Rice

Yelp
Open a location in Scio Township! Or offer catering/ delivery this way-please! I can't drive out there & pick it up anymore.

Yelp
Vietnamese eatery featuring a variety of favorites like pho, bahn mi, and bowls. The banh mi sandwiches are a little smaller than expected but they are tasty, I enjoyed the grilled pork one. I like how they add jalapeño. I'll admit I've also had the chicken wings, which were tasty. I've also gotten the vermicelli combo bowl with pork and shrimp. It comes with an egg roll and makes for a lovely lunch, the vermicelli noodles don't have much flavor on their own (they are vermicelli noodles) but the side sauce and proteins add flavor, and I would add some sriracha with mine as well. I've only gotten takeout here (they do a lot of takeout) but I see people sitting and eating inside They also have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options.

Yelp
I am always on the lookout for a good, cheap, Vietnamese sandwich. Like the Cuban sandwich, the rise in popularity of the banh mi is such a mixed blessing. Yes, you can now find these incredible flavor combinations in a much wider range of places. However, when these sandwiches get recreated something often gets lost in translation. For me, one of the defining characteristics of a banh mi is that it's inexpensive. Have I paid $10 or more for a banh mi style sandwich? Yes. Yes, I have. But I'm not proud to admit it. Sometimes the heart wants what the heart wants. The better banh mi joints, like White Castle, sell 'em by the sack. Once, I got a bag of six sandwiches for $20. It may have been one of the happiest days of my life. VKitchen isn't quite up to that value proposition, but at five bucks, it's pretty close. Let's address the issue of size, because there seem to be some people who are dismayed at the length of this roll. Can you find a larger banh mi? Sure. But I've had rolls this size from one of the classic banh mi shops in Falls Church, VA. And frankly, I'm into this form factor for the roll, because it comes to crunchy points on either end. Plus, at VKitchen, they go to the extra step of toasting it. Merci. Now, it's just a question of finding the right filling. Remember this. Not every great banh mi shop makes dynamite versions of every filling. Here's what I've learned about VKitchen: Skip the grilled beef and go for the succulent lemon grass satay chicken. There may be other winners too, but I like my fillings to be tender. I also like extra hot peppers, and they are more than happy to oblige. Ordering on the Yelp app is super easy, and then when I arrive, my sandwich is wrapped up, ready, and already payed for. I suppose I could get a bag of four sandwiches for about $20, which would certainly be a lot of fun. But now that I'm older, I've stopped binging on sandwiches. One sandwich, on its own, is perfectly satisfying for a modest lunch. Don't forget, it's filled with homemade chicken pate. So while it may not look like much, that thing is nutritionally dense. Enjoy it. And if you find any other great fillings, please let me know.

Yelp
This place is great! They have many vegetarian and vegan options and they're always extremely nice whenever I go. My friend and I always decide on V Kitchen every single time we meet up. You can't go wrong! It's always so fresh and flavorful.
google avatar

Yelp
I got the custom vermicelli & it was great! The pickled veg was so refreshing and they didn't put it together until I got there so it was all so fresh. I chose the spring roll and it was still crispy & the pork which was so tender & flavorful. Great size for a light but filling lunch.

Yelp
Located in a shopping center with convenient parking. The service was decent. The quantity isn't as good as it used to be. The amount of meats in the pho is not what it used to be. The side plate for sprouts is smaller than it used to be. Same as the shrimp in the fried rice. They haven't raised their prices, but it's comparable to the price of other pho places. At least it feels cleaner than some of the other pho places.
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down the best wings I have ever had! Something magical happens- this food was amazing we had the wing appetizer and were fighting over them. Crispy with a tang and sauce that was unreal. Pho noodles were spectacular! This is the best Vietnamese I have ever had! * this review is all about the food. Of note the restroom and the cleanliness of the restaurant were not the best. But the food.... Oh man amazing

Yelp
First let me preface by saying there's no good pho in Ann Arbor period. If you want authentic flavorful pho, I recommend you travel to big cities with high vietnamese population and find the pho restaurants where no one speaks English. Pho here is mediocre at best. Don't waste your money on their hue, it's a joke. The amount of bean sprouts they give is simply sad and it's not fresh. But I don't fault them, that's just Ann Arbor. Just based on Yelp pictures and ratings from people who sound like knew what they are talking about, this place is probably still your best shot for pho in Ann Arbor. So if we have cravings and can't go on trips, we will be back.

Yelp
An OK Vietnamese restaurant. The appetizers were great, but the entrees were lacking. The fried tofu and fried egg rolls were the star of the show. The tofu was perfectly crisp, with each bite delivering a perfectly balanced fried goodness with the unique tofu taste and texture. The egg rolls were extremely flavorful with just the right balance of meat and vegetable filling. The food after the appetizers, though, was not nearly as good. The pho was a little skimpy on the meat (which other reviewers have also noted) and taste-wise was still pho but not brimming with as many flavors you expect from great Vietnamese restaurants.
google avatar

Karl H.

Yelp
The prices have gone up considerably after the pandemic. The fresh springs rolls probably the best in the area, but not $9 for 2. Either cut the cost or add an extra roll. I may find myself going to Pho House more often because it's more affordable for pho and spring rolls
google avatar

John H.

Yelp
A very friendly staff. I ordered the mixed bun bowl with spring roll, roast pork and shrimp. Everything was on the edge of too salty. I was hoping for some lemongrass in the marinade, but the shrimp and pork had a soy base with the later being more like char siu. The spring roll was decent, but it also verged off of traditional with the addition of cabbage in the filling.
google avatar

Jodi Y.

Yelp
The pho I ordered at VKitchen was mediocre at best. The soup was too sweet and wasn't even hot when served. They serve thicker pho noodles which is not like the usual thin pho noodles that I eat. The meat was not sliced and came in clumps, a bit like partially grounded beef. They don't serve traditional vietnamese cuisine but rather Americanized pho. The main problem I have with asian food in Ann Arbor is the prices. The pho I ordered plus tax and tips came out to around $15. In other cities, pho is less than $10. But I guess I shouldn't complain that much because Ann Arbor is lacking in traditional asian restaurants. Even having one vietnamese restaurant should be considered a blessing.
google avatar

Yelp
This review is solely for the pho. I had it delivered for lunch recently. I ordered the create your own pho with meatballs and brisket. I did not like the texture of the meatballs at all, not what I'm used to. The brisket was good but some of the pieces had a lot of fat so I didn't eat them. Next time I'll just try the vegetarian version. The broth was good- savory but sweet. The traditional toppings were plentiful and there were a lot of noodles. The portion was large. I'll definitely try this place again.
google avatar

Yelp
I would feel bad giving this place a 2 so I did a 3 star but I don't know if that's what it was. I ordered the grilled chicken Banh mi. The wonderful pictures posted to yelp is not what I got. The bread was very good but there was nothing to the filling. Maybe and its a big maybe 2 ounces of chicken 2 sad sprigs of Cilantro and some cucumber. If you closed the bread you couldn't see anything in-between that's how sad of a sandwich it was. For the price I expected more.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
We walked in at 1:30pm on a Tuesday and were able to sit in a booth immediately. I was confused because there wasn't on option for pork Pho, there is only chicken and beef. We got beef Pho and spicy beef soup. Both were quite good, a bit on the salty side. Both of which were very large serving sizes, we were not able to finish them although we were very hungry. It does cost an additional 50 cents for a to go box. We were served within 5 minutes of ordering.
google avatar

Kevin L.

Yelp
Real deal vietnamese folks but maybe spinning traditional dishes in a way for Americans? Pho beef broth was most sweet ever in my life and I've had thousands of bowls of pho, seriously. Should of just added some lemon grass and birds eye chili and made it into a Tom yum broth. Tasted like msg plus hella hoisin sauce. Weird. Mini banh mi really mini. Plus is that they offered shredded pork/pork skin. Homemade pate was tasty but doesn't come with that protein selection so make sure to ask for pate with whatever protein you choose, makes the most difference in banh mi IMO. Pickled veggies didn't have pickle flavor or wasn't pickled long enough. Their dessert selection was plentiful and looked tasty but I had lots of sweet already from the broth. Increased to 3 stars for being down the street from my hotel.

Yelp
Tasty Vietnamese food with a lot of vegetarian/vegan options. My favorite is the tofu banh mi, eggplant with basil, siracha tofu, and taro sticky rice. I like the location of the store, easy parking.

Yelp
One of my new favorite places for Vietnamese food in Ann Arbor! We ordered a few classics on our first visit: the N1 combination beef pho, the vermicelli combo with egg rolls/pork, spring rolls, and some Vietnamese iced coffee. The vermicelli here is some of the best. Their noodle and fresh vegetables are their strong suit. The broth was light and flavorful, although a bit sweet for my personal taste. Agree that the pho broth is definitely a weak point, but there is so much more than just pho to try. Also, the meat was sliced extremely thinly and delicately in the pho, and seared perfectly in the vermicelli. Overall, their biggest strength is in how well-balanced in flavor and composition their dishes are. As a side note, their menu presentation is well thought out. They also have Japanese-style plastic models of the dishes outside so you can see a representation of what you're ordering. Recommendations: - Fresh, pretty healthy fare. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options which even this meat-eater was tempted to try out. - Vermicelli bowls - Spring rolls w

Yelp
Great food and service - fast easy pick up and nice service when you dine in. Great pho and banh mi. Pretty broad menu too.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with some friends, and it was pleasantly delicious! The restaurant is very clean and cute looking. The menu is easy to read, and all the dishes are reasonably priced. I was able to try the lemon grass satay spring rolls, Vkitchen Pho, and the Vermicelli combo bowl. They were all super tasty! I judge a good bowl of pho by how hot the soup is, and it was piping hot forsure. The satay spring rolls were pretty good, the satay was a little dry and tough to chew, but it was still very flavorful. The Vermicelli combo bowl was unexpectedly small, but it was solid as well. I would recommend coming here for a light and tasty meal!

Rachel Z.

Yelp
I had the pork banh mi and it was delicious! Crunch fresh bread, yummy veggies and flavorful pork. I would get again.

Yelp
I wad excited to see a Vietnamese restaurant close to Ann Arbor, and knew I had to try it! My boyfriend I split the following: 1) VKitchen Special Pho (2/5): The broth was very thin and watery, would not recommend. 2) Vermicelli noodles with pork (4/5): Solid dish, but they mixed up our order because we originally ordered the rice dish. 3) Vietnamese Ice Coffee (5/5)

Yelp
This has become my goto comfort food in Ann Arbor now. After my friend argued that this place was one of the best pho in AA, I am slowly starting to agree with that. This place has one of the best broth, it's not too overpowering. The summer rolls are also super fresh. The noodles are rather unique - not the usual ones but they work almost better. One day I want to try their sticky rice too :P definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
I think it's a disgrace to charge $5 for a banh mi the size of my palm, and could literally be a pastry item. I don't recommend this place at all if that's what you're craving. I should've done better research and looked at other reviews on here before spending my money, but choices are definitely limited in this area of town. Still not a good reason for a business to highly overcharge for something that should be costing $3.95 for double the size. So disappointed and will not be coming back. Also, for addition context - I come from San Francisco, the land of expensive foods and still don't have to pay this price :)
google avatar

Bert S.

Yelp
Ally Wong would not consider this an "authentic" Vietnamese restaurant because the bathroom did not double as a supply closet and there was no sleeping grandma in the corner. The service was prompt and friendly, the place was clean and not chipped or broken surfaces. Quiet and no intrusive blaring music. Relaxing and a pleasant experience. So why the 3-star rating? The food was just okay. The Buncha pork was a little dry and the vegetables were thick cut and the dressing didn't penetrate through well. My daughter's pho broth was mild. Couldn't pick up the star anise or the other common broth flavors. Not bad, just not fantastic. If you value service and cleanliness over strong flavors, this is the place for you.
google avatar

Yelp
I took one bite of the pork bahn mi and threw it away. Inedible. The pho broth tasted like it came out of a box and there was hardly any chicken. Worst Vietnamese food I've ever had.
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place! The V Kitchen Sticky rice is my favorite dish but the bánh mì is a good choice as well. The service can sometimes be a little bit slow but the staff is incredibly friendly and the food is always delicious.

Yelp
I went here for dinner and I really liked their menus -- they are really well designed little photobooks. My girlfriend and I both ordered the VKitchen Pho and it was pretty good. They even gave us extra noodles for free when I asked and each bowl was loaded with meat so I was really impressed with the portion size! However, the broth was just alright -- lacking the depth of other pho places I've been to. We also tried some of their drinks and they were really tasty! We got the sea salt strawberry plum juice and thai iced tea. I thought the juice had a little too much salt but we both really liked the thai iced tea. 3.5/5 Stars

Yelp
While out and about getting my errands done during lunch, I had to grab some food before returning to the office... so since I was near VKitchen and I haven't been here in a while... I called in my order... I went with two bahn mi - one with beef and the other with pork. Total cost $11.66... it used to be 2 for $10 when they opened, but looks like the price went up to 2 for $11. Beef Banh Mi - the beef was marinated perfectly, flavor was awesome.. had that bit of sweetness, mixed with the radish, cucumber and other veggies, it gave the sandwich an awesome flavor... I would give this dish 4 stars. Pork Bahn Mi - this was not my favorite... the pork had lot of fat attached to it (which is fine) but the meat needs to be cooked longer as it was tough to eat. If the meat was cooked longer, then it'd been easier to bite into the sandwich. In terms of the flavor it's there... the pork banh mi threw me off on this visit... next time, I'll be dining in. Until next time.

Yelp
Tried V Kitchen today - hands down the best Pork Bahn Mi sandwich I have ever gotten!! I got it with the hoisin peanut sauce (not a pate fan) and extra pork (just because you can never have too much BBQ pork!!) and it was delicious. I also got an egg roll and a Thai Iced Tea. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
The interior looks a little updated, as are the menu boards. However, the food seems to have been overlooked in the upgrade process. The pho isn't very flavorful, and the vermicelli bowl was pretty bland. Usually the fish sauce you pour over it is so stinky and fishy, but for some reason theirs was like 60% water or something and I could barely get a whiff of stinky fish. Basically, they expect you to season the vermicelli bowl with water. Very bland. And still hardly any veggies and herbs - I usually expect Vietnamese food to be chock full of them. That is what is soo great about Vietnamese food! Those strong herbs and flavors. The banh mi (sandwich) had a great French bread, which is essential. However, the filling had so much of a strange gooey sweet sauce that it was weird. I mean I guess next time I'll just ask for the sandwich with 'no sauce please', whatever that was.
google avatar

Joshua S.

Yelp
Pretty big variety of options on the menu. I would say the pho is probably not their best dish although it's probably the main thing people go for when eating at a Vietnamese restaurant. The broth was okay. They also don't use rice noodles in their pho which is pretty essential to a pho. Ordered some spring rolls as an appetizer. They were pretty good. Nothing was over cooked inside and the rice paper was still fresh not dry. I order their rice platter combo. A good variety of proteins with rice. Can't go wrong! It did not blow my mind, but I would order it again. I would say this place is not bad. The service is good and the environment is nice as well. Shared the banana ice cream and sweet bean sticky rice which were very good Asian desserts. They aren't too sweet like typical American desserts which was nice.

Yelp
We arrived here just before 6 pm on a Saturday night and within 15 minutes they were full. Even though they were busy we were waited on and our food arrived in a timely manner. For the people next to us who arrived after we did their service was probably too slow. The people who work here are very friendly and it would be nice to return when they aren't so busy. In my experience, I enjoyed my meal here more than at Saigon Garden, Pho House, or Dalat. I had the Goi Cuon fresh summer rolls and the Bun Bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup). I order Goi Cuon at every Vietnamese restaurant that I go to and these were very good. They tasted fresh and the rice paper wasn't tough and they weren't filled with cheap filler like shredded ice berg lettuce. The peanut sauce that came with the rolls had a nice flavor. My Bun Bo Hue was delicious and spicy enough to make me sweat. The portions are huge...maybe too large. My husband always orders Bun (rice vermicelli) at every Vietnamese restaurant we go to and he felt that they put in too many noodles to fill the large bowls which threw off the balance and made the entire dish less flavorful, more bland. Next time he would ask for an extra serving of sauce. There is definitely some room for improvement in the service in terms of getting food to a table together and in the proper order, but I'll still go back.

Yelp
I hate to be the bear of bad news but I can't describe how awful the food was here.. I sat down ordered pho and it was super bland as if they just boiled water.. the noodles weren't even pho noodles they were some kind of other rice noodles.. that's not even the worst part, I ordered a build your own combination plate to go..as stated on the menu you can pick two choices of protein.. I asked the waiter if I were to choose two porks would I receive extra grilled pork, he looked at me in the eye and said "yes that's right".. we'll when I went home and opened the box I see 4 pieces of slimey meat and took a bite and literally had NO flavor.. 15$ for this p.o.s. When the waiter literally looked at me in the eye and said yes you will receive double meat lol.. on top of that I don't even think the pork was cooked throughly because of how slimey it was.. if you want good pho please make a trip to Ypsilanti and try pho house because this place is no where near authentic Vietnamese food.. over priced and very bland with bad portioning, I'm giving you guys a heads up and I'm never coming back here.

Yelp
I was pretty excited to try this place with a decent 4 star rating but sad to say it was pretty disappointing. Got carry out and they were the skimpiest on all ingredients of any carry out I have had. Broth container half full, noodles and fixings half full, I ordered extra veggies and it wasn't even a small handful, they charged me $.75 for a tablespoon of chili oil (honestly probably not even a tablespoon), and the broth was bland.

Yelp
This place is awesome! With all the stress of shelter in place, sometimes you just need some take out. They take payment on the phone and have everything ready bagged up and ready to go, and they are gloved up and they are doing their best to keep everyone safe. They make great food... The sandwiches are super big and tasty. I like the specialty fried rice and chicken wings. I get the v-kitchen pho and chicken pho. During these times they don't have bean sprouts or basil but that's ok. Great food. Super nice people. I hope they survive this covid-19 slowdown to restaurants. Such a great local place. I highly recommend!

Yelp
After the first visit, where I tried the Vegan Egg Rolls, Vegan Bahn Mi, and Vegan Pho, I decided to return and try the (Vegan) Braised Tofu and Vietnamese Coffee. So far, all have been excellent. Every dish I've had so far has been delicious. I'll return, for sure.
