A neighborhood institution now set in the historic Olmos Pharmacy building, Volare remains family-operated with New York–meets–Naples flavor. Local outlets have covered its move and continued following; look for live music and classic pies.

OK. I got delivery pizza and it was great! Then I got delivery calzone. Definitely the opposite of great! Complete Ricotta bomb! Like...gross amount of Ricotta and I could not find the sausage at all. What I did find was badly undercooked! The pepperoni was fine, but not very much. Basically it was a tube of Ricotta with an incredibly difficult to cut crust. We ate 1/4 of it and tossed the rest. I might try the pizza again...but right now, I can't see it.

We came to Volare for lunch and it was incredible! Their lunch specials are a great value and the fresh, homemade pasta just melts in your mouth. The bruschetta appetizer was bursting with flavor. The atmosphere makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a private Italian dining experience, and the attention to detail is amazing. Service was outstanding—friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to come back!

I have had the pleasure of dining at numerous Italian restaurants, but this San Antonio location stands out as a truly exceptional experience. For those seeking authentic Italian cuisine paired with an impressive selection of fine wines, I highly recommend this outstanding establishment

In town for a law enforcement meeting, our chapter (party of 12) popped in for lunch and had excellent service and tasty food. Our food server hustled her tail to get us on our way. The pizza is excellent.

Good food and pleasant staff. Sauce was very rich and delicious for chicken picatta. Thanks

I heard about this place from a friend and went to try it out while we were nearby. The place is smaller than I thought, with very open seating in the middle with booths around. It was decorated very nuclear with dim but nice lighting and was all super clean. The waiter & staff were super nice and attentive, Our party ended up ordering the garlic cheese bread which was amazing, especially with the sauce it came with and the calamari was good too. I ordered a Caesar salad, which was a bit on the sweet side for me but was really good. My main dish was the Pasta Della Nonna, the flavor was balanced, and the sausage in it was great, just wish it was spicy. If your craving Italian like me and my freinds were we definitely recommend them to anyone who has the opportunity to try it.

I visited the original Volare location late 2019, and I genuinely believed it to be the best pizza I've eaten! When I planned a new vacation to San Antonio, visiting the relocated restaurant was #1 on my to-do list. We visited for dinner on 5/30. The pasta my girlfriend and I shared - excellent. The sauce was heavy, and the meat was superb. We rated this a 9/10. Next up was the pizza. At first glance, it appeared just as colorful and fresh as my original experience back in 2019. However, the majority of the bottom crust was extremely soggy. The wetness ruined what was otherwise a perfect pizza. I don't know how this happened (did they reuse a dirty plate)? I took a photo of the plate showing the liquid the pieces were on top of. Elva was extremely kind and understanding of the situation, I was very impressed with her service as well as our servers. She even took the plate back to the chefs as they couldn't believe the issue. Elva felt bad for us, but unfortunately the restaurant could not give a discounted receipt for the pizza issue. She mentioned a manager or the owner has to be present in order to give a discount (seems like upper management is very strict). We were already full, which is why we didn't ask for a replacement pizza. I'm willing to try Volare sometime again, hopefully this was a one-off issue.

Pizza was good. Small salad overpriced for what you get. They should take chicken piccata off the menu. It was awful. Waitress needs training. She didn't know what the side of "vegetables" was and instead of saying "I'll find out" she said "I think I've seen zucchini". She was friendly, but not skilled.
