I wish I could Volvo of Santa Monica less than one star. My experiences with this dealership, from purchasing my car new one year ago to dealing with the service department, have been incredibly frustrating. My car has had problems since I bought it and they have been nothing but insulting to me in dealing with the issues (for instance, sending me "how to" videos for how to use the car, when the car is clearly malfunctioning). Today I had a service appointment, and when I got there they said they had 30 appointments before mine and I'd have to leave the car until tomorrow. I will be going to Volvo of Culver City from now on.

I have had multiple Volvos and not sure I will continue buying these cars based on the experience I’m having. I have a 2019 xc60 t8 (hybrid)……very low mileage 32,014 and I have this hybrid system failure and weird grinding noise while driving. I took it directly to the dealer because they’re supposed to be experts on their product. They diagnosed it and I paid $1,817 to change the coolant pipe and flush /change the coolant. Error codes were cleared and they test drove the car and deemed it safe. They even did the courtesy of dropping it off at my home because I was short on time and leaving on a road trip and had waited a week to get my car back. Upon driving the car, almost right away we notice the error message and the grinding sound was even louder than before. A separate problem with key fobs not locking and starting the car wasn’t even addressed. I took it back …Klaus, my adviser apologized and said it was unacceptable. Next he tells me there is a different coolant pipe that is pinched and it will be another $944 + tax to fix it. Regarding the keys, the tiny plastic tab inside the each key fob were broken and could not be repaired or switched out with another shell. The charge for 2 new FOBS is $1,369 + tax! This key problem seems to me like a design error…tiny plastic tabs breaking? The electronics and everything else works but because a little tab can’t put enough pressure on the battery the whole thing is for the garbage?! It’s not like I lost my keys in a fire, they are perfectly fine expect for the little plastic tabs. Online you can buy new key FOB shells for $179. The dealer is charging their customers a fortune for the programing which they don’t make accessible to independent repair shops. Why gouge your own customers in this petty way? I wouldn’t expect that from VOLVO….Porsche yes…. Back to the coolant pipe. My previous car was a hybrid Cayenne with more mileage, and never had such problems. Why didn’t they see the pinched pipe the first time? Or did they pinch it accidentally when they put it back together. Why didn’t they check all the pipes initially? Is the car engineering that complicated that even when the service foreman is working directly with Volvo corp USA they can’t figure it out? I understand I’m paying premium pricing for service from a Westside area dealership but I except them to be experts on their product. I don’t want to pay over and over again for guess work while they change each hose one by one. The way things have been handled I do not trust this Santa Monica dealership. I’ve never had this kind of experience at other Volvo dealers in the area. I don’t think my service advisor Klaus, was being honest about the car passing the test drive before it was delivered to me. First he said it was driven for 20 miles, in a later text he said my car had been test driven for at least 50-60 miles. Which is it because the invoice shows the exact same mileage in and out…. They should know how many miles it takes for the engine error light to recalibrate. In any case there’s no denying the grinding/rubbing sound when the car was in motion never went away. I wrote to the assistant service manger, and no response. When I called to speak to the manager I was instead forwarded to Klaus. I’m not even sure the service manager saw all my correspondence or if he did is just too important to speak to me. Since there’s no direct email or extension number provided for the manager I’ve had to leave voicemail and emails on the dealership’s general inquiry line and inbox. Hopefully I will hear back . I generally don’t post negative review for little things but I think it’s important for potential customers to know how things are handled here. I myself always appreciate both positive and negative customer reviews and find them the most helpful in my decision making. A

Went in for oil change only. They ended up doing multiple inspections and this is what I found out after 1.5 weeks. My engine coolant cap was left opened on the side with the cover unlocked. My engine is probably damaged. I will see what they do about this case.

Alex and Haik have both ignored customer complaints and allowed arrogant, unprofessional behavior to define the customer experience. This isn't luxury service--it's a chaotic shit show. When Mike Theisen was in charge, serious customer concerns were addressed and the Maserati name carried itself with professionalism. Now, under Alex's sloppy management and Haik's refusal to step up, your dealerships are being dragged through the mud. If you truly care about your company's reputation, bring Mike back before these dealerships collapse completely.

I had a great experience from the moment I walked in the door walking out the same day with my car! I worked with Francisco and he was straight forward, professional, kind and worked hard to get the deal I wanted. Arman the manager was also very professional and came over to introduce himself and answer any additional questions. Bryant in finance got the paperwork together quickly and again professional and straightforward. What I appreciate most about this dealership (especially as a woman) is the respect and professionalism they showed from start to finish. I've even gone back a couple of times for little things and each time they help me with the same courtesy. I would definitely recommend!

i have had a lot of problems with my second Volvo C40. Specifically roof antena/ spoiler manufacturer issue due to poor quality Chinese part causing rattling noises and car vibration. Volvo company was not very helpful and defensive. Initially Volvo recommended tape to fix the problem: it did not work. Went to Santa Monica Volvo and they replaced defective part; car drives like new. Klaus who is a service advisor is very helpful and friendly. Technician knew immediately what was the problem. I highly recommend Santa Monica Volvo to buy or service your car.

I scheduled a same-day service appointment and was in and out of the dealership in an hour for an oil change. I was initially quoted with approximately 2-3 hr wait but my service advisor worked his magic and expedited my service visit. I was impressed by all of the staff's professionalism along with the cleanliness of the dealership. To top it off, the complimentary car wash really put the icing on the cake. Highly recommend this dealership!

Kudos to Robert Munoz and his maintenance team. I was a little surprised that the cooling system doesn't work and engine light is on after just half a year. So I scheduled the earlier available time here to get it checked. Robert offered me a rental car during the maintenance time and took care of my car gracefully. Right now, the cooling system works well and I could feel the brake is more tight and more smoothly when I want to stop the car. At the end, Robert didn't charge me for the replacement of a cooling fan and labor expenses. I'm absorbed with Volvo's maintenance team right now and have a strong faith in Volvo. Thanks Robert and your team.

I would rather drive hours to any other Volvo service center than this place. I went in for a normal service (about $800) with nothing wrong but when I got it back the check engine light was on. Then, AC was messed up because of a sensor. They literally took 6 months to fix my car. They would never call back after I left messages. They made promises about having rental cars but I would not hear from them for weeks. They even damaged the spoiler on my car, likely due to where they store all the cars off site because there is no room at the 17th st location (even their rentals have the same marks). When the tail gate opens it must hit a ceiling or something. They must know about it. Check your spoiler!Here's hoping you have a better experience than I had. It seems like this place has too much quantity to provide any quality service.

We've been going to this dealership ever since we got our XC40 back in 2019, and we've always been well taken care of. Everyone there is exceedingly friendly, attentive, and helpful, from sales to service and everyone in between. Whenever we bring our car in for maintenance, the service is quick and thorough. No pressure on any of their recommendations. I love that they give you a free ride there and back when you're dropping your car off and picking it up. Volvos are already great cars, so when you combine that with the excellent customer service here, it means we will loyal customers for many years to come. (Side note: We initially went to the Culver City dealership when getting our car, where we felt ignored and looked down on. Santa Monica is the opposite!)

Do not buy anything from here because if you do, you can be sure that you're gonna have an issue. it's easy to buy some thing from a Carismatic sales person this promise you that they will take care of you with empty platitudes. Volvo is not a luxury brand in that sense. It stands for security, safety and common sense. I've had several now I have one that is over. It's 14 years old and I take care of it because it's the only car I have people like me are often the people that are squeeze the most when it comes to repairs because we don't have, the endless pockets or the three years of warranty on a brand new Mercedes to fall back on So we reached out to the dealership having a Volvo, asking them if they can help with brakes and a smell from the AC on a very very well taken care of 14-year-old car The quote is insane. Keep in mind that the car has a value around $2000, the quote is almost $3000 and their hourly is $277. That's more than a top attorney. that's more than a heart surgeon. they don't find this amusing at all, and tell me to go somewhere else like they were the freaking Bentley shop down the street where people came in with bags of money, and didn't care if it cost this much or that much. this is an LA problem too because people are just so immune to money here thinking that they can charge whatever because some have money but not everyone has money here and honestly, even if I was a billionaire, I would not pay that kind of ridiculous money because that's called excessive billing. This is not what it should cost and if you, Google what I just said what I needed help with it's half the price with most mechanics and that's where I'm taking my business. so even if you buy a brand new car and they convince you to do so you're gonna end up here at some point and you're not gonna get any help when you're dealing with narcissists and people that think that they are Rolls-Royce England do yourself a favor and stay away

After looking around at other dealers inventory and price quotes. I worked with Michael at the time. He ensured the color and options I wanted were on the lot. Once again the process was smooth. I've always had a great experience getting my XC40 serviced at Volvo Santa Monica. I've been going there since 2021. The prices are high for services, but this is a Volvo after all. I get a lot of transparency with what needs repairs on my car and what can wait. Just today, I had my car picked up from my home to have the brakes inspected. I was expecting to shell out some serious dough to get them replaced. However, when I called to check on the status, I was told the brakes are fine. They even did a comprehensive inspection including the battery and tires, which I didn't even request. I was told that I may need new tires in a few thousand miles. They drove the car back to my home and that was it! I wasn't even charged for the inspection or the free wash! If you want your car in good hands, call Klaus. I've never received this level of service elsewhere.

we needed a tow hitch attached to our Volvo xc90. got us in the next day. Took about half the day to finish and they delivered the car back to us the next day do we didn't have to go pick it up which was great for us because we are about 30 minutes away and the delivery was free. they also gave the car a full cleaning and did an oil change and some basic maintenance. everyone was very nice and the experience was smooth. would recommend this Volvo store.

I have a leased Volvo XC40, which I love! Although I did not buy it at Volvo Santa Monica, I take it there for the regular servicing. I can't say enough good about this place. You can make your appointment online, you can have a phone phone call to remind you of the appointment, they get you in immediately, every single one of them are as nice and friendly and helpful as you can imagine, they wash your car inside and out, and they do the service in record time. My lease is almost up and I will most probably go to Volvo Santa Monica for my next car.

After much research amongst SoCal Volvo dealers, and being an experienced Volvo aficionado, my path led me to the wondrous Alpha Dixon at Santa Monica Volvo.' He worked tirelessly to find the absolute right fit for my needs, helped me look for any incentives, and answered every question I had. The entire Santa Monica dealership treated me with friendly responses as well with absolute patience. If YOU are looking for a luxury ride, the safest brand, and a stellar experience, go spend some time at Santa Monica Volvo. In addition to the above, I had a very tight timeline of less than 24 hours and was not able to spend much time at the dealer. Alpha went above, beyond and to infinity with 5 star red carpet service! He drove the car out to me and provided all paperwork. Then I had a full tech how-to on all of the bells and whistles with this magnificent vehicle. People say, treat yourself. She was so professional from start to finish. She took her time to really connect with me and understand what we were looking for. We were looking for a new car and looking at about six different makes and nine or so different models. We ended up at Volvo of Santa Monica and met Francisco Aguilar, who took us on a test drive of both an XC60 and XC90. He stayed out of the way when we were learning on our own, but was always there to be helpful when we had questions. He was patient when we said we wanted to explore other options, and again when one of us got sick and had to delay another test drive. In the end, I never felt pressured and have gone home with one of the most amazing cars I've ever owned. It's a great dealership that's not high-pressure and Mr. Aguilar is knowledgeable about the cars and can help you find the right car for you. This was a refreshing and surprisingly non-anxiety inducing car buying experience. Also, Volvos are sleepers and everyone who knows cars should be looking at them. Couldn't be happier with my experience or our sweet new XC90. This piece of kit is epic.

The team at this facility's work ethic and customer service is above and beyond! The service advisor Robert was extremely diligent on making me feel comfortable and being transparent with repairs. He also accommodated me with transportation to and from their facility, which made the whole process very easy.. I would recommend them for service to everyone with the Volvo!

Volvo Cars of Santa Monica provides excellent customer service at all points of contact (sales, service, repairs, etc.). We live in the San Gabriel Vally and drive to Santa Monica because of their service (our local Volvo dealer is dishonest and rude). At my last service appointment, they were running late and had a small miscommunication about when my car would be ready. Once realized, they got to work quickly and provided me with a "we're sorry for the delay" gift. While the gift was not necessary, it was the extra step they take to make sure their customers feel seen and heard.

I bought an xc60 from Ontario many years ago and never had any problems. I traded it in at the Santa Monica location for a brand new xc40 in 2022 and it has been nothing but problems; the electricals were always glitching. The last time I brought it in my entertainment center broke down. They told me they found liquid and that it wouldn't be under warranty and quoted me $7k. I was also encouraged not to drive it out as they said it might stall. I'm so glad I brought it to Galpin Vun Nuys for a second opinion. They said they didn't find any liquid and that it would be covered under warranty. They even gave me a loaner car which Santa Monica never offered. To go from paying almost $7k to practically nothing out of pocket is criminal!! buyer beware. I will never come back to this location.

20,000 mile service and recalls on my Volvo S60 T8 taken care of promptly. Easy scheduling and car returned early. Robert my service advisor was great. Highly communicative and service orientated.
