This place is open from morning until 4 PM. The soondubu (soft tofu stew) is freshly made every day, so it’s always very fresh. They also offer soy milk made from ground soybeans, available in both sweetened and unsweetened versions. However, it takes quite a long time after ordering for the food to arrive. The service is average.

Came here on a Sunday morning to soft tofu pudding and soy milk. Lucked out because they also had pandan tofu and black sesame soy milk which I heard were available on weekends. The tofu pudding was super smooth and silken. Syrup had slices of ginger just like the olden days. Both regular and pandan flavors were delicious. The soy milks were perfectly sweetened ( I prefer less sweet and appreciated that it was just that.) the sesame soy milk was also delicious. First time trying black sesame soy milk. Person behind counter could understand Cantonese, Vietnamese and English from my interaction. A no none sense takeout shop with lots of fresh-made tofu products. The lot is small.

Google
Perfect spot for anything soy-based! Ordered the fried tofu with lemongrass chilli, hot tofu pudding with ginger syrup, and the fresh soft tofu. Tofu pudding: SO soft, you can taste that fresh soy milk taste. Straight up nostalgic. Fried tofu lemongrass chili: Get this! Fried fresh to order. Crunchy on the outside, silky and flavorful on the inside.

It’s seems like the owner is not very serious about operating his business. He’s taking too many time off! And although the stuffs they are selling is very good, but often time they ran out of them even before noon.

My guilty pleasure when I'm in the area. Cash only place and serves fresh hot tofu pudding! Brings me back to country bumpkin childhood days in China where it was a luxury to buy tofu pudding afterschool from a cart in a plastic bag lol. This place has it pre-packed with syrup packaged and ready to go. I only found this location because I saw the Tofu sign while driving by. It's one of those locals only known spots that is very unassuming from the outside and inside. So I would definitely recommend buying some tofu pudding and grabbing a big boba straw and drinking that sucker when it's warm enough to consume cause it comes out hot!

Google
I order 20pcs (2 orders) mushroom tofu with the price I always paid for 20pcs. After home I only got 10pcs. Then I called, the lady said I only charged you 1 order (10 pcs). With the price i always paid for 2 orders? She said the price is increased. Although the price is increased that i didn't know, why she only gave 10pcs instead of my requested of 20pcs with the new price ? I think she is tricky, and i won't be back to this store again

Google
Best soft tofu in the Monterey Park area. They usually sell out by 1pm and you'll have to wait until the next business day. Usually closed on Monday/Tuesday. Buy one to two more containers on the weekend if you can't remember when they're closed. The soy milk is also excellent and fresh. I'm a faithful patron when I go home to visit my aunt. Nothing comes close in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Google
I was told they make tofu in the facility. But most of us go there for ready to eat fried tofu. $2 for 8 pieces is very reasonable. But their soft tofu pudding is 1-1/2 times more expensive than the market. I paid more than $5 and later realized the market is selling for $3.79 Maybe I was just being taken advantage of. Tip: Know the price before buying anything with no posted price.

Yelp
the most bomb tofu pudding everr! I have been going here ever since I was little and their tofu pudding always hits the spot especially the pandan tofu pudding. i know it's normally eaten warm but I love to eat it cold, so refreshing and so yummy! what is the difference between the white tofu pudding and green(pandan) pudding? - the white is not made with pandan - only comes with ginger syrup - u could get it weekdays and weekends I believe - still runs out quick - green is made with pandan - comes with coconut milk and ginger syrup - is only served on weekeneds I have tried tofu puddings at other places but none have compared to the quality of vp tofu. all their soy products are so fresh. tofu is so silky and smooth and not grainy. love this place so much. tips: go early morning on the weekends to get the green tofu pudding bc they run out quick!

Magda N.

Yelp
If you come here after noon, you won't get the soft tofu pudding. We didn't. So we settled for half gallon soy milk. You can get pandan or black sesame flavor & sweetened or unsweetened. We got regular sweetened. 5 bucks, not bad. They also sell fresh tofu, fried tofu, and other freshly packaged vietnamese dessert. The guy behind the counter is super nice.

Suong L.

Yelp
Service - Friendly! I didn't realize you can't pay by card so I used zelle instead. They still operate with a really old cash register so it was nostalgic to see one again. They helped me confirm the correct zelle account and then the order was quickly and easily paid for. Food - SO GOOOOOD. Nothing beats some piping hot, freshly fried, and delicious tofu. You need to be patient since they don't just have a whole team working! The wood ear mushroom and noodle tofu had a nice texture with all that's in it. I liked the bites of noodles. The lemongrass tofu really isn't spicy as some might say, but this really depends on your tolerance. It has a nice fragrance to it though. The "intestine" is wonderfully crispy with a soft inside. The wheat twist is nice and chewy. Places like these are an absolute haven for me since I'm vegetarian. Overall, everything was great and I'd definitely go back again to get more fresh tofu! Their shop is kept pretty neat and clean too.

Yelp
Service is terrible. Parking is not convenient laundry place take out the parking. Not a lot of selection in the store..

Yelp
Visited this place on a Saturday morning and there was no line. Probably due to the Thanksgiving holiday and Black Friday happening the days prior. I ordered the pandan milk and was surprised they had an unsweetened version, yes please! It is tasty and the soymilk is nice and thick. I also got their pandan tofu pudding with ginger syrup and coconut. They only had the warm one and for a cold day, it was so comforting. It wasn't overly sweet. The coconut and the ginger enhanced the pandan flavor. Minus a star for the unfriendly attitude.

Alice T.

Yelp
V P Tofu has been around for a long time, yet I had no idea despite having lived in the 626 area for most of my life. I visited on a Saturday around 1:00 pm, and all the tofu products were already sold out except for the tofu desserts. I purchased the hot silken tofu dessert in pandan flavor, which is available only on weekends. I was concern I was going to have language barrier as I'm not that fluent in Chinese, but everybody at the store was fluent in English. I ate it after dinner, and it was the perfect dessert. I microwaved it with the syrup and coconut cream on top of the tofu for a little over a minute and a half, and it was perfectly hot and delicious. I had never tried this dessert in pandan flavor before, and the coconut cream added a very nice touch. I'm glad I stumbled upon this spot while I was in Monterey Park. Clearly, I've been missing out on this good stuff.

Yelp
I've lived in the San Gabriel Valley for so long and always thought VP Tofu was similar to another tofu place in Rosemead. I finally tried VP Tofu and was pleasantly surprised at some differences that are really nice! They have a flavorful lemongrass tofu, they have sesame soy milk, and if you order fried tofu it is freshly fried. Eating it right away, it is piping hot and crispy. Before the fried skin softens a bit... because of the freshness there is a bit of a wait but it's worth it for a snack. The place seems like a mom and pop place and they speak English, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese. They don't open every day of the week and I was told they only make the coveted sesame soymilk twice a week (Thursday and Saturday). If they run out, they run out. Therefore they might not have all the menu items and go early!

PT H.

Yelp
The soy milk was smooth and thick. The #3 was DELICIOUS! Soft and silky on the inside and nicely fried on the outside.

Annie W.

Yelp
The tofu pudding I bought on Sunday 1/12 was grainy.. Not as smooth as before. Will give it another try tho. As its been good before.

Matt P.

Yelp
Every time I come down to MPK, I try to come here and get either their soy milk or chrysanthemum tea. They have sweetened and unsweetened options. Just make sure you come early as they usually run out of the sweetened drinks. I also like their hot tofu, but again, come early because they run out early. They also have tofu & non tofu items. Their fried tofu is actually good when you eat it freshly fried. They are mostly cash only, but are taking Zelle as an option now.

Janey Y.

Yelp
This is a no dine-in local spot. My only small complaint is I wished it was open M-W but they're only open Thursday to Sundays. I don't fault them though. I love their affordable tofu fa. $5.75 for a large set and it feels healthy and filling. Parking can get difficult but I can find parking along side streets. They charge a small fee for credit card transactions so bring cash!

Tina L.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. I came mainly for the fresh hot soy milks and also picked up a large tofu pudding. Everything was delicious and very flavorful. I came early in the morning and like was already 10 people deep. A couple people came for pandan puddings and they were already out. The line moves slow due to one person working but he was very efficient.

Yelp
VP Tofu is my go to for all things soy. They sell a variety of soy milk, deep fried tofu, tofu skin, tofu pudding, etc. When you buy soy milk here, it's almost always hot. As in hot because it's freshly made. They sell regular, pandan, and sesame soy milk (sweetened/unsweetened). The deep fried tofu usually sells out before 10a. My favorite is the deep fried lemon grass tofu, deep fried tofu pockets, and deep fried soft tofu. All solid and delicious choices. The tofu pudding (dofu fa) is also very good. I just tried the pandan flavor (weekends only), and it's delicious. It's best to come before 8a because they always run out of the popular items. And don't forget to bring cash. Expect lines on the weekends and a 15 min wait for fried tofu items because they're made to order. Bring your mask (required inside) and be patient. Good things take time! The very nice lady at the cashier is almost always there and is so helpful if you have questions. This is a no frills shop with lots of locals as regular customers. Prices have gone up quite a bit but it's still worth it imho. Parking in front is often busy but I've never had trouble getting a stall. LOCATION: 4/5 FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 4/5 AMBIANCE: 3/5 PET FRIENDLY: n/a CLEANLINESS: 3/5 PARKING: 4/5

Yelp
Love this place to pick up amazingly fresh soy milk and tofu. Can't find this type of stuff anywhere else. The drawback will be the business hours.

Terry K.

Yelp
My family has been picking up fresh pack and fried tofu, soy milk, tofu pudding dessert (regular, pandan), and all the other goodies since I was in elementary school. One of my favorite childhood memories was walking to V P Tofu with my mom once a week. We keep coming back because of the great quality! One of my favorites has to be the fried tofu with the Woodear mushrooms and noodles. You can eat them plain or in sauce. Go early!! They made all of their tofu and soy products fresh daily and run out of certain items towards the end of the day. Cash only. Quick and efficient. They have a small parking lot that's shared with a laundromat.

Novia E.

Yelp
I always come here to stock up for my soy milk and fresh tofu. I grew up with soybeans, so tofu and soy milk are lyfe! This little gem in Monterey Park always delivers the freshest tofu and soy milk in town. I recommend to come here as early as possible because their hot soybean pudding is so good, and they only have it on Saturday and Sunday. Parking is available in their small Plaza and it's located next to coin laundry and across CVS.

Elena C.

Yelp
I wish this place accepts credit card, because the tofu is amazing! Especially the 'intestines' tofu. It's crispy but soft and it's just a joy to eat. If you're getting hotpot or even stirfry, adding this into the dish will definitely make you dance the dance of the tofu people.

Trrer R.

Yelp
Got various of tofu and bread,if you interested in some. Closed early and limited to item sold out .

Don K.

Yelp
Must stop for the fresh fried tofu. My pieces were so hot that they felt as if they just came out of the fryer! Unfortunately they didn't have the lemongrass tofu that I was truly after. Will have to stop here again on my next trip. Currently allowing 2 customers into the store at a time with masks, strictly observing the social distancing rule.

Angie C.

Yelp
Love the fresh hot tofu flavored lightly with sweet ginger syrup. The small sized portion is great for scooping into two little bowls and sharing with someone. The tea-infused eggs are also on point - very tasty! I've had my share of mediocre tea eggs in California and these punch above their weight class.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Family owned local mom and pop shop. Friendly service and fresh soy products including soy milk, sesame soy milk, fresh tofu, freshly fried tofu, plain dou-hua made daily and weekend only Pandan dou -hua with coconut cream and ginger and much more!

Elsa L.

Yelp
I love buying the fried tofu at this place. Although the price is a bit pricier compared to the other tofu store in Rosemead but this place is closer to me.

N L.

Yelp
Very fresh and yummy tofu products, and always very busy when I visit on Saturdays. They're only open from Thursday - Sunday.

Eeeev A.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time recently and ordered the lemongrass tofu. Yummy but too spicy for my tummy. I will go back to try the tofu with mushroom and pandan pudding with ginger sauce. The proprietor was helpful to me and was nice.

Beckie D.

Yelp
This place is IT. It's kind of a hole in the wall. It's only open four days a week. But if you like tofu pudding (tofu flower, dao fu fa) , you've come to the right place. Nobody does it better!!

Ellie W.

Yelp
Best place to get fresh soy milk and tofu. The staff are multi-lingual and speaks both English and Chinese. Their milk comes in pandan, sesame, and soy flavor. You can also chose between the warm or cold temp, but I definitely recommend the hot ones because those are freshly made. I recommend going early because majority of the items were sold out at 12 pm.

Christina L.

Yelp
Tofu!!!!!! Pandan soy milk -- Gave this one too my brother and he liked it. Black sesame soy milk -- ended up mixing this in coffee to make black sesame soy lattes. Fried tofu X2 -- tasty! I liked the woodear one the most Soft tofu -- This one was slightly more expensive than the grocery store, but they make it there and they run out halfway through the day. The locals know what's up. Fast service, would love to come back in the future!

J C.

Yelp
Supporting local business, y'all. This is definitely a home sweet home homemade tofu being me back to the good old days. Silky tofu added caramel ginger syrup sliding down your mouth...ooohhhh! ***CASH ONLY*** RESPECT: Social distancing and masks are strictly adhere and required.

Melina C.

Yelp
I used to stop by here before pandemic to get the tofu fa here. Finally tried it again! The tofu fa is amazing, smooth texture with the ginger sweet sauce is perfect. Just a right amount of sweetness. The tea infused eggs were great as well, beautiful egg flavor with tea flavor with each bite!

Ka C.

Yelp
V P tofu is located at the corner of a small plaza across from CVS. There is a little parking lot in front of the shop. It shares a parking lot with a laundry place, so sometimes the parking can be little bit crowded. VP Tofu has the BEST soybean tofu pudding (aka: tofu "fa") in town!! I've tried so many places for the same thing in LA, yet nothing tastes like those at VP so far. The hot tofu pudding at VP is smooth, filled with soybean flavor. It is so good to the point that I can easily finish a large size on my own (I know, no shame lol ) It always reminds me my childhood. The down side is those pudding always sold out really quick! You will have better luck if you come here before noon in order to get the hot tofu pudding.

Oliver L.

Yelp
I like the fried tofu. The line is very long when I was there. But worth the wait.

Brandon L.

Yelp
Best soy milk especially the sesame soy milk. Best tofu products. Best Viet desserts.

Sylviana M.

Yelp
The tofu was incredibly fresh, and there were many different variants to choose from. The seller was friendly. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous. While the ambiance was so-so, the quality of the food more than made up for it. I ordered the fried tofu with ear mushroom, fried tofu with lemongrass, fried plain tofu and black sesame soy milk and all were delicious. I will definitely be coming back to VP Tofu and highly recommend it to anyone who loves tofu

Kelly P.

Yelp
late review but loved VP tofu when we checked it out last year! definitely a must visit if you love tofu and other soy products! -pandan soy milk - we tried this unsweetened and I still thoroughly enjoyed it! it was nice being able to add sugar/honey to taste when I got home. pandan was pretty light, but still noticeable. definitely want to try more of their soy milks in the future! -lemongrass and chili tofu - fried and really good! the chili added a nice kick and the lemongrass brought a nice bright citrus flavor to it -wood ear and glass noodle tofu - this one was my fav! also fried, but the glass noodle and wood ears give the tofu a nice chewiness. it gets pretty busy and the popular items do sell out so totally recommend going early. also bring cash!! I believe it's cash-only. they have a small parking lot in front of the building.

Quinn V.

Yelp
Fresh tofu made daily. Go early to have all available selection. Can get busy, but they're fast and efficient. Really good prices.

Jennifer N.

Yelp
This business is not very nice to their customers. Actually pretty rude. Asking them questions is like getting an un appreciate tone from her. Guess they dont need the business. I will take my business to VK Foods in San Gabriel. Much tastier tofu and soy bean milk than this place. They are cheaper priced and they are nice to their customers. By 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, they are out of everything. Only thing left is Sesame soymilk and herbal teas. I wanted tofu, regular soybean milk, soybean pudding.. nada! Pandan and black sesame soybean milk tastes bland..just stick to the original.

Laura T.

Yelp
Best soy pudding in town, def must have, I love it and highly recommend anyone who loves soy pudding, soy milk or tofu to come by and try. Currently, during COVID time, they only allow 2 customers in at the same time, and once you are inside, they have markings on the floor for you to keep 6 ft apart. One person will help you at the register and if another one of their salesperson isn't busy with to go orders they will assist you as well. Service was quick and easy, I was able to pick up 1 large soy pudding and 1 medium unsweeten soy milk for under $10. Best deal ever! Parking is shared in a small lot with a laundry mat, many time, there wouldn't be parking available. Street parking is available still limited. I am not sure if they accept credit card, but I always paid in cash.

Monica C.

Yelp
Great place for their fresh homemade soy products! Just love coming here for their weekly pint of sửa đâu nắng (sweeten) and their pandan flavored one, too! They also have sesame flavored, which I gotta definitely try next time! Ooo... and there's many sweet desserts here, or well Asian sweets using tofu as sweets in their pudding or fried tofu etc! Very worth trying!

Diana W.

Yelp
CASH! $2 fried tofu, $2 hot soy bean pudding with ginger syrup. Tofu/soy-static! So fresh and good! Fried tofu: Even after 35min ride, it was still really tasty, fresh and not soggy. Free parking in the front.

Cali A.

Yelp
Cash only. Came on a weekday morning and the place had a steady number of customers. Only a few ppl allowed inside at a time. Food: Hot tofu pudding - taste like ones I've had in Taiwan. This item is highly recommended. $5.50 for the large size. Comes with their brown sugar syrup w ginger. Non gmo unsweetened soymilk- you can taste the nuttiness of the soybean. Very good. Got the large size for $7.50. They added pandan water to it. Coconut mochi from Mai's Bakery- this has no flavor and comes in a package of 4 small mochi for $3.00. Also got the mochi w red bean paste. Also has no flavor. Same price 4 small mochi in a package.

K. L.

Yelp
The hours are odd. I have been to the place three different times and they were closed. Kinda frustrating. But their soy milk is the best! I always buy gallon size.

Jenny L.

Yelp
My family has been coming here for 10+ years now! I am obsessed with their HOT SOY BEAN PUDDING WITH GINGER SYRUP (10/10) aka Tofu Fa in Cantonese. This is one of my fave desserts, and pretty healthy too. The tofu in it is just soo silky soft! Their Pandan Soy Bean Pudding with Coconut Syrup is amazing too. They also sell fresh soy milk.

Char L.

Yelp
Saturday around 11am and there is a line about 5 deep outside the store. Line moves fast. Only 2 customers allowed inside the store during covid since it's a small space. I just came for the tofu pudding with ginger syrup. This was a childhood treat growing up and VP Tofu makes it super silky smooth and delicious. The best part is that they scoop it for you warm, but you can actually take it home and put it in the fridge and over the course of a few days, enjoy the pudding. This works well since I don't live in the area and want more than just 1 serving to enjoy. Cash only.

Kathy C.

Yelp
My sister who is a pain in the neck when it comes to soy milk comes in all the way from Victorville to this store. They have steamed tofu, fried tofu, liquid tofu, well you get the picture. It's a vegetarians' Mecca except for their display of juicy plump sausages that's so good and temps me into sneaking one or two packages home. People who loves fried tofu but hates the mess in the kitchen would love the freshly made to order deep fried tofu squares. They are crispy and crunchy and I usually sneak a few bites in the parking lot because the aroma is just too irresistible. Their ample menus are posted on the wall behind the counter. Note: parking is prime at times and watch for zooming traffic. Lady at the counter is very helpful with any questions you may have.

Ann Q.

Yelp
Ahh COVID times... On my trip there Sunday morning, there was a line of maybe 6-8ppl ahead of me. Everyone was being very good about limiting customers in the store to 2 parties at a time or Max 3ppl. They blocked off the fridge access and any high touch points. Just ask for what you want at the counter. Once you've placed your order, if packaging or preparation is required just wait outside and they'll bring your order to you. I finally got to try the pandan soy milk, gotta say, there's really not that much pandan flavor more just essence. When I was reheating the soy milk on the stove, I was able to smell more of the pandan but yeah... Will probably just stick to original soy milk. Tofu fa always delicious as always! CASH ONLY

Ada L.

Yelp
Fresh tofu doesn't get fresher than this. Its always a treat whenever I can pop in here and pick up some tofu and soy milk. Tofu puddling seems to always sell out later in the day =/

Yan F.

Yelp
It was my birthday and I made it a mission to find tofu pudding at all cost. There weren't many places near where I was staying that served it so I was praying and hoping that this place would serve the itch for my need of tofu pudding. I hate to give a low rating but they ran out of all hot pudding when I got there and it wasn't even late in the afternoon. It was a total bummer so I ordered the cold tofu pudding. I am not a fan of cold tofu pudding but the consistency of this pudding was no good. My mother makes better pudding than this. The pudding they made were gelatin like instead of smooth consistency like how it is supposed to be. I was very disappointed. They only thing that was unique and good about the pudding was the ginger brown sugar syrup. I tried heating it to see if it will taste better but it did not. I hope to try their hot pudding someday and that will be final verdict.

Nicole G.

Yelp
Simple but good - that's pretty much all you need to know about this place. They specialize in tofu and tofu products, with a spattering of vietnamese treats located in the fridges and on the counter. The fried tofu pieces with woodear mushroom & glass noodles remind me of my childhood because I remember after my mom would run errands in the area, we would stop by here and then eat a fresh box of them in the car. For about $2-3 for an order of 8 pieces, this is a steal! Their other products in general are also very affordable and very fresh. We just got an order of the doufuhua (tofu pudding dessert w/ sweet ginger syrup) today and it was super silky and deliciously warm. This is a great dessert when you want something sweet and comforting, but don't want to feel guilty afterwards :^) Come support!!
