"Vu is a rooftop bar on the 22nd floor of a building near the McCormick Place convention center. And since it has both firepits and retractable windows, it’s good for the occasional 53-degree Chicago summer day. There’s a long menu of small plates, with dishes like popcorn shrimp, chicken thighs, and salmon succotash. "Vu is a rooftop bar on the 22nd floor of the McCormick Place Hilton, and since it has both firepits and retractable windows, it works for the occasional April snowstorm and/or autumn. There’s an eclectic menu of dishes like corn fritters, flatbread with soppressata and ricotta, green curry mussels, and a surprisingly decent burger. Located near Wintrust Arena and McCormick Place, the 13,000-square-foot space sits 22 stories above ground and has three bars, two patios, outdoor fire pits, and retractable windows. "The South Side got its first rooftop bar when this year-round spot opened in 2018 near McCormick Place. VU Rooftop Bar has terrific views from the 22nd floor, three bars, fire pits, and retractable windows for the colder months. The food, from Fifty/50 Restaurant Group, is a tasty ensemble of bar bites. VU is open as early as 6 a.m. for breakfast so guests can watch the sunrise with a mimosa in hand." - Jeffy Mai
