W Hollywood

Just experienced the lobby. Never stayed there. It has just been remodeled. Always went there with a co-worker before the covid lock down. They had a good DJ and little band combos. Then covid hit and things changed. They closed down to be remodeled. Now, they do have a DJ. But the lobby has been re-arranged. Comfortable, but not cozy. Great Guacamole and chips though. And the margarita and white wine is very good. They close early. 11pm.

I went and celebrated my most recent birthday at the W Hollywood and had the most magical day. The hotel is beautiful (I believe they are still renovating or are almost done) and the staff was so kind. Shoutout to Lina and Amelia for getting my friends and I an upgraded suite, I can’t believe how nice it was. They had all my favorite snacks and drinks up there upon arrival it made the day so much more special. We also had the best bartender, Ronaldo who gave fast service and was so nice and friendly. He made great drinks (the cucumber marg was so good) I definitely would recommend for anyone to stay here while they are visiting LA!! Thanks again to the wonderful staff :)

I really enjoyed my 24 hour stay at this hotel. Carla at the front desk was friendly and professional and took down my number for a text when my room was ready, as I arrived around noon. I went to brunch at the recommended “the breakfast club” restaurant just around the corner and it was fantastic. I walked around Hollywood boulevard after and took in the sights. I was a little worried about doing this, as many reviews claim the area can be sketchy. I found it to be perfectly fine during the day, with lots of people out and about taking pics. I did encounter some homeless people, but they kept to themselves. I found probably the best record store I’ve ever been in “Amoeba records”. It was huge and lots of fun to walk around and browse even though I didn’t buy anything. There is a CVS across the street to buy water and snacks. I returned to the hotel and Carla had messaged housekeeping to see if my room was ready and it was! I had applied a NUA and Bonvoy upgraded me to an awesome suite complete with the bathtub that I had requested. The room was great. They have just had a refurbishment and everything was shiny and new. They even left a bottle of Evian and some nuts as a welcome amenity along with a card. This was my first stay in a W hotel and I was curious if the bed would be as comfortable as they are in other Marriott 5 star properties. Let me tell you it was incredibly comfortable with very nice linens. I had a very hard time leaving that bed the next morning. I ordered a room service breakfast and the food came in under 30 minutes. It was delicious too with great French pressed coffee. I had a breakfast credit for being Titanium along with an additional $42 food and beverage credit from the destination fee, so my huge breakfast (I was hungry) hardly cost me anything. I despise destination fees, but getting at least some food and beverage credit helps ease the pain. Later I checked out and the breakfast still hadn’t posted, but the front desk agent promised that my credits would be applied. Sure enough, later I got my email folio and everything was perfect. Valet had brought my vehicle around and helped me load my luggage. When I was departing there was a woman in the motor court who was in some sort of conflict with security. She was shouting obscenities and causing a scene. She was surrounded by 3-4 security/management types who were trying to deal with her as discreetly as possible. I thought that they handled it amazingly well. The only thing I didn’t have time to take in was the pool. I love pools (especially in nice hotels) but I just didn’t have the time. I’m not sure if I’ll ever return, as I find West Hollywood to be a better hood and more fun to visit. But if you want to be in Hollywood proper, the W is a great choice. Thanks for a superb stay!!

My husband and I travel a lot, staying in many hotels and we were both blown away by the level of service, friendliness and special moments made by the staff at the W Hollywood hotel over Labor Day Weekend 2024. To Byron & William, what a pleasure meeting you both!! Your kindness went above and beyond. To Adam, our server multiple times, thank you for making each time enjoyable. These are just a few members of the staff we were lucky to interact with. Thank you to everyone there, you made our visit a special one. Carrie & Mike Miller.

I would not stay here again for free. The room was nice albeit small for the price. The staff and security are extremely rude and snooty. I wore nice jeans and a nice shirt, and was constantly asked to show my room key. My wife took a photo of a sculpture in the lobby, and security came up and told my wife that she is not allowed to share the photo and if she did that their legal team would follow up. I’m not paying this much money to be harassed.

I’ve stayed here three times and will be traveling to Hollywood every month or two. The location is ideal and the room is clean and spacious. However, the food options are very limited, and there’s no coffee maker in the room. I’ve had to go to the lobby each morning and wait in line to get coffee from a machine. It’s annoying and inconvenient. I don’t understand having a full bar in the room but no coffee. The Thompson around the corner has Nespresso machines in the room and I may go back to staying there just for that reason

I really liked this place. Only stayed a couple nights, but valet was smooth as butter, the main lobby/bar looked quite extravagant, and my room felt like a futuristic film set. I would definitely return.

Expensive to park and eat breakfast but, the staff was over the top friendly. Atmosphere inside is fantastic. Outside on Hollywood Blvd was disappointing. Sidewalks dirty and homeless keep u in your hotel at night. But hotel was well worth the cost in friendly helpful staff alone. Excellent

The lobby is gorgeous! Lobby bar/restaurant is inside/outside with pro bartenders shaking up the goods! Rooms are styled & practical with plenty of spots to put your stuff & stay organized. Our room wouod not get below 73 degrees despite a bisit from engineering, no offer to change rooms. The pool area is very fun & comfy, no real swimming, not good for kids. No good views from most rooms & neighborhood is close to things but dirty. Probably will not return as value for price is just not there.

If you ever want to stay at a place that is so LA it's just...L'Ahigh, the W Hollywood would be that place. You may have a little bit of sticker shock but there's a reason why, you get what you pay for. They just recently remodeled, and I think it's a little tongue and cheek that it went from a bold red interior to a muted green. The thought crossed my mind that it aesthetically looks like a great monument of decadence, was overtaken by nature. I stayed at W hotels across the world and I have to admit this location has their shit together. When I checked in my room, wasn't wet ready, and the gal, her name starts with a M and she has mushroom, tattoos, made me feel like I was an A-list celebrity. The only real complaint that I have is that the pool doesn't open until noon and for early risers that don't want to just decline their liver efficiency, can't enjoy a great amenity. Thank you W Hollywood - I will be back soon!!!!

Absolutely stunning. I love what they've done with the place. The new design is immaculate !! My parents visited from out of town on my birthday and stayed here. The drinks and service are impeccable. The new vibe encompasses both classic Hollywood and new Hollywood in an elegant and beautiful way in my humble opinion.

The W is always a vibe, I understand the location might not be for everybody. But come with an open mind and be sure to remember you're visiting the Hollywood Walk of Fame. We stayed this past weekend for a friend white party on the rooftop pool. Ambiance at the pool was great not to hot the music was chill and the drinks were flowing. Had dinner downstairs, ordered salad and the club and both were very fire, highly recommend them.

I just read someone complaining about the noise and the valet charges. Yes, Hollywood is Hollywood. It is not Lake Shrine - and Oasis of peace. Then, Parking in LA Hotels is expensive. Possibly more expensive than in Vegas or Palm Springs. If any of this is a concern, I recommend - regardless of the hotel - to stay out of Hollywood. The nice part: once in the W you are so central, It's possibly cheaper to Uber your ways than to park in any upscale Hotel in LA.

Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was exceptional. The food/service/ambiance is, each, and collectively, truly exceptional (and expensive). The hotel pool is really neat, but it does not open until 12 Noon. I believe that 12 Noon is a very late opening time for the pool. The pool venue is spectacular, and immaculate. Operations of the guest-facing side of the hotel, leave a LOT to be desired. Thus far, the hotel has made an abysmal effort to recover from a series of operational failures (many at the Front Desk); the failures were everywhere - - throughout the operation of the hotel, they are rampant. I don't know who in the world designed the refurbished guest rooms in The W Hollywood, but, in my opinion, they need to go back to Romper Room, as the refurbished rooms are a failure, not functional, not intuitive, and not logical (for example, you need a PhD to operate the window shade, turn certain lamps on and off, etc). Housekeeping was a BUST, with many deficiencies upon check-in. These failures are uncharacteristic of Marriott. Neighboring (less than a block away from The W Hollywood), Hollywood Boulevard, has become a product of URBAN DECAY. Just disgusting, DISGUSTING, an epicenter of URBAN DECAY. It is not unusual for motor vehicles with loud exhausts to be racing up and down Hollywood Boulevard, after sunset; there is practically no sound buffering/mitigation in hotel rooms on the Hollywood Boulevard side of The W Hollywood, and the noise in our room from other guest rooms, and the hallway is unnerving. UNNERVING! We are Marriott loyalists, but, we will not stay at The W Hollywood, again. 11 PM UPDATE: The automobile exhaust noise from vehicles drag-racing on Hollywood Boulevard woke us from a sound sleep. I'm looking at a pint of 94 Proof Straight Bourbon Whiskey on the top of the Honor Bar, I think we will need it (ALL of it!) to get some sleep, tonight. 4:30 AM UPDATE: We are awakened, again, by exhaust noise from vehicles drag-racing on Hollywood Boulevard. The inmates on Hollywood Boulevard are clearly Ruling the Asylum; I don't know where LA PD is. Further, whoever designed/built The W Hollywood, FAILED, there is no sound insulation from sound-limiting/deadening glass/windows, insulation, or from State of the Art, interior window coverings (that reduce ambient noise). We cannot wait to escape this House of Horrors, unrested, and unnerved (for that we paid a premium tariff).

I have stayed here once on a girls trip. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the pool! Loved the Dj, and drinks and just being able to enjoy the rooftop was lovely. I would recommend to whomever is staying in the area! Close to the freeway and many restaurants, bars etc! Be sure to get a day bed for some shade!

I had given up on LA hotels but the W Hollywood has given me hope that good service can still happen. We were here for Netflix is a Joke Fest and had a great time. Even when we walked in at around midnight the front desk person addressed us by name. 9 out of 10 employees we interacted with with amazing. They were even extremely apologetic when there was a protest demonstration at check in that blocked us getting to the hotel. There are robes and a mini bar and fridge in the room. The concierge in the lobby gets there at 10 am and is very helpful. Yes, the valet is $72. Get over it or park somewhere else. We never had to wait for the car and there are in and out privileges 24 hours a day. With the $29 destination fee you get a lot - free pressed green juice, free TCL movie passes (can't be used for new releases), $29 a day food and Bev credit and free wine from 4-5 pm. Coffee on the 2nd floor is free and comes from a machine in the morning. I also got $20 per person a day for having Marriott status on food and Bev for breakfast- we used it once to eat in the living room and once for room service. Food was high quality. We had a nice renovated room that faced in (no view but quiet). The room had blackout curtains for sleepy time. Tiled shower with a fun blue translucent glass. This will be our new go to hotel in LA!

Super friendly staff even though we showed up at 3am needing a room right away. Breakfast was included even though we didn't wake up in time to eat. There's nowhere to park nearby so we had to use valet (kinda pricey but that's LA for ya). What stood out the most to us was how friendly the gentleman at the reception was. Not sure why the rating on the Marriott app is so low since we enjoyed our stay (beautiful and comfortable room)

What can I say ?! I loved it! Staying at this hotel makes you feel like a celebrity. Red carpet once you get out of your car . I went here a few times and each time it was great experience.

Recently renovated, and fair-priced by Los Angeles standards, the W Hotel in Hollywood is centrally located and fairly elegant with good amenities such as a 24-hour fitness center. Offering Bonvoy VIPs benefits like drink credits and tickets to the Chinese Theater, though parking is still $79 a night, flaws include lots of noise on the streets below, weak WiFi and water temperatures that are either "Titanic" sinking or the White House in "Independence Day."

I stayed here on a work trip. The hotel is very beautiful and clean. Check-in was very easy, and every staff member I interacted with was great. Some areas of Hollywood Boulevard, frankly, do not feel safe, but the W Hotel and the area around it feel extremely safe. What I particularly wanted to write about was the luggage hold service. I needed to check out at 8am for a work event where I could not bring my luggage, and I couldn't retrieve the luggage until 7pm. I was nervous about having to leave my bag for so long. The W has a system where each bag gets a tag, one piece for the bag and one piece for you. I came back hours later and they had my luggage for me very quickly, which I appreciated. It was very safe. Overall, I'd love to stay at this hotel again.

Mixed feelings about W Hollywood. It's an overall decently nice hotel, hip and in a very central location in Hollywood, but service is quite inattentive and everything is so overpriced (parking, breakfast, resort fees etc.), coupled with the labor strike and hotel renovation .. this is making my experience here greatly discounted. PARKING IS OUTRAGEOUS at $72.60 per night (over $80 with tax) "with in and out privilege". We were informed by another patron of a Public Lot nearby (1 block away) at 1627 Vine Street for $23 per 24hrs, so we parked there and saved $$$. Breakfast buffet is $53.81 per person, $42 + 4.67 tax and 7.14 mandatory 17% service charge.... for essentially some scrambled eggs, sausage + bacon. Service at the Delphine (bfast lobby on 12th floor) is spotty at best. We had to ask for everything... water, juice, etc. The hotel is undergoing renovation right now so the setup is a bit weird but workable. Reception desk is on the 12th floor near where the pool is located. By the way, the view is so nice on the 12th floor, from the pool or the bar, and a near 360 view. There is currently a strike going on at the hotel, apparently between the hotel vs its union workers on fair wages. The protest is VERY LOUD and starts before 7am on a Saturday and Sunday morning for the 2 nights that we were there. The front desk, however, gave us ample warning on this upon check in and gave us options for a room facing away from the noise (aka not street view but garage view). We are not light sleepers and opted for the street view anyway on the 10th floor and I'll have to say - the protest was very loud. So be forewarned. The room is large with 2 queen beds and comfortable bedding, with very nice and soft towels . Furniture and the room was decently clean, but a light bulb was out in the bathroom and no one cared to replace. Overall a very hit n miss experience staying here. I will come back again after renovation and I'm sure things will be a lot better then.

Food menu is limited in the W lobby lounge, but delicious nonetheless. Great service, great ambiance, and great environment.

10/25/2021 Came here for a group game night meeting kind of event but it was a socializing sort of night. I don't know if there is a server that's supposed to come around so I went to the bar. Ordered a drink and then came back to our seats. After that, a server comes and asked if we had ordered yet. Is a quiet lobby with people walking by as parking is in the back. So if you want a quiet evening out, this is your stop. Red line station right in front.

This is establishment had a L g b t q plus event and it was such a Fun site to see. From the time you enter, it's very calming. The day I arrived there happened to be a DJ and a nice Dimming of lights. They also had an outdoor bar & eating area on the first floor. As i walked around the building ,I got an elevator to go up to come to This event and there were many pieces of art along the way. You can see the poolside area. And they also had clean restrooms for this event which I loved. They will regularly serviced And the security here were firm yet very nice! In this event They handed out free items such as holographic glasses. Lanyards, you were able to make your own DIY bracelets. And there was even an area where people were doing photoshoots!

Horrible service at the lobby bar. The bartenders and staff working directly in the bar Friday night were so rude. They refused to take our food order bc they said kitchen was backed up...meanwhile everyone else was placing orders. The laziness and rudeness was only multiplied by the Manager (white guy with a beard) who was incredibly condescending and dismissive. When I called him out on his rudeness he became even more obnoxious. I've never experienced such blatant disrespect from a customer service representative especially at a hotel! *Dont stay or dine here if you like to be treated well.

I wish I could give a zero!!! Don't stay there unless you like bugs in your bed. Legit hairs all over the sheets and once I lifted the sheet a bug flew up. The bed frame was broken all over and the leather was peeling. The red carpet upon entry was gross and stained. The entrance was very confusing it seemed like a back entrance and was not pleasant at all. Just disgusting! Do not stay here!!!

When we arrived, we waited over 10 min for a valet. Once the valet took the car, no one helped us to take our luggage to the 12th floor lobby. After check in, when we got to the room we definitely did not get the one booked (we ordered city view but we had a building view) and we were only compensated with a $100 voucher for the "inconvenience". I escalated to the Marriott company directly via phone who said it was unacceptable and created a case. The premises are 5 stars but the service is 0 stars for the price. I have been to W Dubai, Miami, NY, London, and Hollywood is by far the worst service we received on a W premise. Would recommend looking at other luxury chains for the same price in LA.

I love this hotel. From the renovated rooms and most especially the kind of customer service I get from all the staff, it is just beyond amazing. They all go beyond and above!! I had a great stay and will be coming back.

OVERRATED OVERRATED OVERRATED!!! I try to stay away from Hollyweird due to the crowds and traffic; but my organization was having a retreat and the W was the overflow hotel. What a bust. First off, valet is $70+ a night, you can go in/out; but $70+, that's nuts! As a result, we ended up taking an Uber each night to Lowes for the event so we didn't have to pay for parking at Lowes. They are remodeling so check-in is on the 12th floor. At check-in we were told there was an additional $29 for a destination fee...Wtf is that? This is not Vegas! The fee included some trivial stuff they know guests really aren't going to take advantage of. So in essence, prepare to pay an additional $100 for your stay if you have a car. The rooms were basic as hell. Nothing spectacular for an additional $100. Actually, the room was dark, the lighting in the bathroom seemed too dim and there are only lamps in the room. Before checking out, we went to ask about the $29 credit. The clerk, I think her name was Karla confirmed we didn't have to pay that since our reserv was booked with a group rate...yippee on $70+ extra a night instead of $100! She was nice enough to give us the credit since we were told we had it. We didn't use it because the brunch consisted of about 6 chafing dishes for $45+ or so. We checked out and headed to Roscoes. To sum it up...I will always pass on the hotel!

The pool area is alright you need to be there super early in the morning to get a spot by the pool or even a lounge chair. Servers come around to take drink or food orders. It does get pretty crowded so be prepared. Heads up drinks are pricey but I don't mind paying when they know how to make them.

Staycation vacation!! Had the amazing opportunity to stay with mi amiga Delia, visiting from Florida. She offered to treat me to a stay here as she had just flown in and wouldn't be connecting with family until the weekend. It was my birthday weekend (16th) and I was super happy to enjoy drinks, brunch, complimentary Red or Blue Line Tour Bus rides, bike riding and so many great amenities at the famous W Hollywood Hotel. We did valet because it's the only true option, but the cool thing with valet is you can text or call and your car will be out before you even leave your room. The Station Hollywood Bar aka the main bar across from the check-in is perfect for lounging, socializing and of course cocktails but no real food... We saw it pop up seperately like th Delphine restaurant I was able to enjoy birthday mimosas with and eye over their great menu their with tons of dietary need options including a vegan bolognese I'll be coming back for stat! Both have great outdoor patio seating as well, which is great when the weather is nice. Enjoy the Wet Deck and Wet Deck bar on one of two of the top floors, FIT - the fitness center, cool events and more complimentary fun with your stay like museum tickets and discounts not to mention the credit for food or drinks. The service was amazing especially for check-in, check-out and valet. Refreshing fruit and herb infused water daily near the front... cucumber mint yes please... Strawberry lemon... mmmm.. more. The rooms themselves are very cool, but not as colorful or up to date on the first few floors... Spring beds, chips and mildly rusty door latches, almost no wall art whatsoever and those windows in the shower where you can see both beds, desk, window daybed and just about everything in your room make for awkwardness when staying with anyone but a significant other or friend of an adult nature lol... Like why W? It is a cool aesthetic, but the fact that it's on the same side as the shower head isn't the best. Solid water pressure! Our phone battery died the night we were toasting and enjoying some takeout in the room so it kept beeping which was odd... Not sure the last time it was replaced, but made for a great story and laugh. They have misc items via their mini bar that are pretty cool and tempting, just an additional charge if used and/or opened. You can store valuable in the safe(s). Comfy bathrobes, fair amount of closet space and great tv options including streaming services (if you sign in to yours you'll be signed out anytime the TV is off). Clean everything and those early check-in and late check-out times make it that much better. I would definitely stay again!!

I recently stayed at the W while attending a concert at the Greek Theater. The location was great for this and everything about the hotel was very good, except one thing. On everything you spend there an automatic 18% to 20% gratuity or service change is added. Now I understand that is a more common practice today. However, I have never had that added to a bill without being specifically informed of it. At the W, no one ever mentioned it. I absolutely acknowledge that it was listed on the itemized invoices. But who looks at an itemized invoice when ordering two drinks at the pool or breakfast? I guess I should and others might. I personally feel that they should inform you of this practice upon check AND when delivering an invoice. The result was I tipped about 40% on everything I spent there, probably more than $100 over what I should have. I spoke to the front desk manager about this and was told that they would have the food and beverage manager call me. This never happened. I'm not a cynical person, but I feel like I was deliberately taken primarily by the servers who didn't mention this practice when handing me a bill. So if you go to the W Hollywood, beware. Be more observant and less trusting than me or you too will be paying 40% gratuity on everything you do. I feel taken advantage of.

I love staying at this hotel. The rooms are modern and comfortable. The lobby is always a great scene. The outdoor patio bar is a fun time. The best part is their rooftop pool and lounge.

They charged me for valeting my car on a night I didn't even have a vehicle which was interesting. Their iron also dripped water all over my clothes and when I called for a new one, they didn't have extras. The staff was kind but also they had a party every night I was there due to the Grammys and my friends had worse experience with the service than I did. Still, was a bit disappointed since it's supposed to be a luxury hotel and I expected better service. Nice and comfortable room overall but wished for more I guess.

The hotel receptionist wearing a white button up shirt working on September 13 on Friday male slick back hair was exceptionally rude and I do not appreciate how he was absolutely so rude and treated me so inhumanely. He kept saying stuff about me to the security instead of saying it to my face. No room service, and doesn't want hotel guest to get room service. I'm absolutely disgusted by his attitude, The W hotel is like a 1 star motel.

The pool area on a Saturday after 4pm is cool and it's free entry. They have outdoor showers and towels to assist you. As well as areas you can chill. The w has some $$$$, so it's cool they offer this chill space to guests and people who have rooms. Brings more $$$$ to the business. They totally renovated the hotel, as for putting the lobby at the top near the pool, and now having red carpets all at the bottom of the hotel. I walked in with a reject, one of the guys who is apart of the group rejects. I seen some ppl I knew in high school here and I didn't want to talk to them but he was with them!! Lol, small world. Im leaving now but good vibes but a little not my vibe.

LOVED our stay here! everything we needed was provided for us and when we called the front desk for anything they got it done immediately. Especially Lina! she was so so amazing and friendly as was everyone else. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone heading to hollywood.

We had a wonderful wedding anniversary celebration at the W Hollywood! The pool deck delivered non-stop fun with great music and delicious drinks. Our check-in experience was flawless, and our room provided the perfect comfort. We extend heartfelt gratitude to concierge Marianna Benzon for her extraordinary thoughtfulness in surprising us with a champagne bottle to commemorate our anniversary. It truly was the perfect touch! Special thanks also go to Will, our attentive server at the pool, for providing exceptional service. We're already looking forward to our next visit for another wonderful experience!

Wow customer service at its finest as the GM wrote me back and made this right. Will be back at this location asap. Loved the view but not the declining Hollywood Blvd.

Extremely disappointed with my overall experience. I'm a Bonvoy Titanium Elite and exclusively stay at Marriott properties but this has to be my worst experience to date. Booked a room with points, approx 60,000, for one night, with about $200 in fees, including valet parking. 4th of July weekend. The check in situation started as a shit show. Other patrons were complaining about how room prices online were cheaper and this went on for for a while. At to make matters worse, the entire lobby smelled like snoop dogg had lit a blunt right in the middle. I thought that this was just a thing in passing. But this continued through the elevators and onto my floor. Remember- this is a non-smoking hotel. Next, I tried to get ice from my floor, and the machine was broken. Went to a different floor, same issue. Everything in the room was also worn down and decrepit. See pictures. Fast forward to 5AM (Saturday night going into Sunday morning). It felt like my roof exploded. Woke up to noises of and vibrations. First, thought that maybe it was the gym above us and someone was doing jumping jacks. But this went on for about an hour before I called down. I was told that security would check things out and let me know. This carried on for another hour. I thought to myself maybe it's construction? At 6:30am. On a Sunday. Went downstairs this time and let the front desk know, again. Was told again, that security would go upstairs and see what was going on. Needless to say, this went on till noon. Honestly, I was more well rested before the stay. I won't be back. And do not recommend this place whatsoever. Go to the Tommie or Thompson or anywhere else.

Stayed here since I wanted to try the place and I had an event to go to in the area. They valet your car for $56 a day. You text a number and they retrieve your car for you. The lobby area is pretty cool. It is trendy and has a tall spiral staircase in the back that goes up to the meeting hall. It is pretty nice looking especially at night. They have a DJ and the place is pretty busy. The bar is there to. Their outdoor patio are is nice to with a lot of seats. They don't have a separate line for Platinum members like a lot of hotels in the Marriott chain do. There were two couples in front of me. The guy from the back offered us waters while we waited which was very nice of him. I got up to the counter and could barely hear the clerk talking to me. The music was loud and there is a plastic beerier in front of him. He said he upgraded us 3x but I asked if it was a suite and it wasn't. You have to use your key card to access the floors on the elevators. When I got to the room it was a very small room and the view was the back of the buildings . Very disappointed in the supposed upgrade. It's just a standard room on the 10th floor. The big thing was the bed was a foot off the ground. Like Japanese style. Not got for your back and you can't just sit on the bed. We hated it. The room was clean. The shower pressure was not good and the spray of the nozzle was not adjustable. It did a large spray so it took forever for my wife to rinse out her hair. I asked for assistance and the clerk said it was late and would take a while and we should call in the morning. I didn't press it. We stayed two nights at the hotel. We probably will not come back again. It's more for younger people I guess, not that I'm old but gotta go to St Regis or the Ritz.

I will never come back to this hotel. After the toilet in my room overflowed and I had to change rooms at 4am, the hotel charged me over $3,000 for damages they say I caused. The only explanation given was that the room was brand new and there was no issue with the last occupant. However, that is not proof that I caused it. The security staff was rude to me on top of that. I was already frustrated that I had to change rooms at 4am, and maybe could have acted better, but the security staff treated me like garbage and proceeded to blame me for the water damage. They clearly didn't like me on a personal level. Maybe it was because I was Asian. My frustration was not just because of the change in room at 4am and the water everywhere, but because I never got the room I reserved in the first place. I reserved a very nice suite and did not get any communications about it not being available until I checked in. I got a basic room that was not even close to what I had reserved. The hotel claimed that they were going to give me points equivalent to two nights stay, but that it would be for a basic room. Based on the conduct of the staff, I would not be surprised if they renege on this promise as well. I've stayed in many hotels like this and BY FAR this was my WORST experience.

I stayed here for three nights for work travel. I likely would not have chosen or paid for this hotel, personally. A $29 resort fee is charged per day but you can apply it towards a lot of on-property purchases of food and drinks as well as random things like their exercise classes and a 90-minute bike rental. The location was ideal for Hollywood and a stones throw from the walk of fame, etc. As other reviewers have noted, construction is ongoing and the lobby is on the 12th floor. Check in and check out took a while as only 1-2 people worked the front desk. I did enjoy that the checkout wasn't until 12 pm so I didn't feel rushed at all on my last day. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. And they offer daily housekeeping without having to ask, which is a bit of a rarity these days it seems. I just like my bed made and towels refreshed and thought the staff did a great job and always managed to do my room while I was out. The room itself was nice with a very comfortable bed and pillows. There was a nice desk and office chair to work, and they had a cushion to make sort of a window seat but my view was of a wall, so I didn't sit up there. I felt there could have been like an armchair or something in an otherwise empty corner of the room so there was a other comfy place to sit besides on the bed. The furniture was a bit dingy and dated. Hopefully they will upgrade the guest rooms once they finish the lobby. The mini fridge was mostly full of items for purchase but enough room to stash a couple of water bottles without having to rearrange everything. The stand up shower was also nice with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash provided. Plenty of space on the bathroom counter and below to store items and a few nice touches like makeup remover wipes. A free bottle of Aquafina was provided each day alongside the Evian which cost money. I wish there had been a coffee maker in the room as I prefer not to show my face to the external world until after I'm properly caffeinated. There is a fancy coffee machine on the 12th floor that offers free American drip coffee, espresso, or Americano in the morning, but the nicer drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, etc. cost $8. The drinks served in the bar were well-prepared but also expensive - I basically used my $29 daily resort credit to cover one drink each day. There are only 3 elevators and during busy hours there was a brief wait. I was also slightly surprised with how thin the room walls were. The first room they gave me had a very loud screaming child next door and I immediately traded it for something else. They reassigned me to a room that only had 1 neighbor which was really nice. But I could hear the guy talking in the next room and felt like privacy could have been better. The central AC worked great but it was LOUD. And slightly startling when the fan starts to blow. The Wi-Fi worked pretty well, no complaints there. I didn't use the pool while I was here but it looked nice, as did the breakfast offered in the morning. The views from the 12th floor are pretty nice. Griffith Observatory and just a sliver between buildings revealed the Hollywood sign. I didn't have a car but it was easy to get picked up and dropped off by Uber, although not many places to sit while waiting.

I really enjoyed my stay at W Hollywood, but want to be honest in my review as there were some things that could improve. What's good: - Location! W is on Hollywood Blvd directly in Hollywood, not far from 101 freeway. It is across the street from the Capitol Records building, has a clear view of the Hollywood sign, and next to the world famous Amoeba records. Especially as a lot of Hollywood Blvd is dirty, sketchy, smelly (I honestly gagged several times walking down the sidewalk from the smell of piss from the homeless. I get it, you have nowhere to go but OHMYGOODNESS ), having a beautiful modern hotel in the heart of Hollywood was great. - Modern hotel with great amenities (restaurant was delicious, rooftop pool, cute rooms) - delicious breakfast buffet on rooftop with views - they change & clean the mats in elevators several times a day, for morning it says GOOD MORNING & likewise for other parts of the day - daily resort CREDIT of $29! - the staff was wonderful!!! I don't think we had a bad experience with any of the staff. They were friendly, attentive, offered suggestions, and fun. From valet to bell desk to check in to restaurant staff to maintenance- all great! - random but loved the shelf under the bathroom sink. I travel with a few bags (makeup, toiletries, meds) and having a place to put them that wasn't out on the counter was helpful. What's not so good: Every hotel is going to have some things that aren't great, and even as much as I liked the W, here were the things I encountered. - Overnight parking is HOW MUCH? Ninety some dollars? Ok, hotel parking is pricey but WHAT. There is a parking garage across Argyle for Amoeba that charges $36 a day, be careful because it's not 24 hours. Another lot across Hollywood Blvd that's $42 a day, 24 hours, and clean. Can be busy because it's mostly for the theatre. - Hotel is currently under renovation so the entrance is about a block off Blvd on Argyle, and check in is on 12th floor - Pool bar closes at 5pm. What? It's summer and it's hot. Not even until 7 or 8? 2 pool servers ignored us when we arrived at 4:30 despite the fact we just drove 6 hours to get there and wanted drinks. - The blackout curtains are NOT blackout. Too much light comes in around them because they are off the wall. We braced them with pillows to limit light because it was too bright to sleep - Our AC wasn't working as well as it could. Although we had the unit set to the lowest it would go at 66, it would turn itself off before reaching that and off when we left the room. I struggled to sleep because it was too warm. Maintenance checked our unit & 1 issue was someone bent the vents to face the wall so it wasn't blowing into the room. Maintenance fixed that then checked our filter and it was visibly dirty so they replaced it. Great help but didn't completely resolve issue - the 12th floor bathrooms for the pool and restaurant were constantly disgusting!!!! On one day, I used the bathroom and 2 toilets had feces in them that hadn't flushed down, 2 stalls where the doors don't close, one stall was missing a lock. Basically made ONE stall available. I used the bathroom at breakfast and assumed it would be cleaned. Hours later it was in the same state so I told front desk staff. The next day, similar issue! Dirty toilets, broken stalls, one available stall. That's unacceptable for a pricey hotel. Please fix the issues and clean regularly. - Would rather have an actual fridge & not mini bar. Good thing we drove and had coolers to keep drinks & food cold - Room descriptions are confusing. What are you getting when you pay more for the Fantastic Room & how does it differ from a Wonderful Room? Pictures on website looked the same. In conclusion, I would stay here again if I went to LA, and would recommend it to others. Price for room was acceptable for a nice brand hotel. Just please fix some of the issues.

Not worth the price. I stayed two nights and you need to know about the unexpected fees you'll be paying before you go. Firstly, they have a "Daily Destination Fee" of $29 EACH night you stay. It can be used on food and drinks, but it won't completely buy you anything because it's insanely expensive. And no, you can't opt out of this fee. If you use a debit card, they're going to put a $500 hold on your card. In case you mess the room up or smoke in the room. But seeing as what you get is already a mess, it doesn't make much sense. Valet is 77 bucks per night. Okay fine, BUT if you merely accidentally pull into the valet, as it's the main entrance to the hotel, and you go up to check in and then come right back down to move your car, they'll still charge you $22. Although I will say the valet people are incredibly nice! The room I stayed in was dirty, period. Look under your mattress and see what I mean. Let's just say it's not a thorough cleaning whatsoever. The desk is dusty, all the wood furniture is chipped. There are black stains all over the place. Not to mention there is a window facing directly into the bathroom, that they merely covered with some crappy plastic wrap (NOT requested by me.) If you're looking for a beautiful view, make sure to ask. Our window is facing a giant wall of a building. Heads up, DONT take anything from the room. Obviously if you do you'll be charged for it, but most of it is $50+ if you do. No microwave, no room in the mini fridge because they have all their overpriced crap in there. On the bright side, there's a big tv, the rooms are sound proof as far as I can tell, and there's a pool on the 12th floor. If you have an extra $500+ to spend AT the hotel AFTER already paying for your hotel, this place won't be the worst for you. If you're looking for a nice, clean place in your budget for your universal studios trip, skip this place.

This hotel is so cute and in the middle of all the action. Across from the Pantages theatre and a Marriott affiliate, win-win. I think it was about $420 for the night so it's not cheap, but had everything I needed. There are so many restaurants around and Amoeba Music a short walk away. Loved my stay here.

My husband and I picked this place to stay at because it was near the event we were going to attend. The lobby area was nicely decorated. Loud music was playing. The bar area had a beautiful spiral staircase with a big chandelier. My husband and I checked in. The staff was nice. He offered us some waters. We can hardly understand what the clerk was saying, because there was a clear plastic barrier between us and there was loud music playing from the bar area. The music was just too loud. Valet was $56 a night. I don't know if self parking was an option. That is a little steep for parking. More than renting a car a day. You needed a key card for the elevator to get to your floor. Our room was ok. The bed was very low to the ground. No box spring. It was like sleeping on the ground back when you couldn't afford a real bed, just the mattress. The bed was comfy and I slept well. The only other thing I liked was sitting on the bed to put on your shoes. You didn't have to lean too much to tie your shoes. The bathroom was nice. The thing that was not good was the shower pressure. There was no pressure at all. It took forever to rise out the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. I don't usually take long showers, either. It doubled my time in the shower to rinse my hair out. My husband called to talk to the front desk about it. They said it was late and no one would be able to look at it until the morning. That didn't do us any good. Overall, our stay was ok. Was not impressed by anything. The room could use some updating. The counter in our bathroom needed repairs. Chips and dings.

This hotel has endured a very loud and very obnoxious strike protest at its entrance off of Argyle street for nearly 3 months now. The strikers are there sporadically but when they are there they are there for the entire week and/or weekend and are loud with bullhorns, drums, pots and pans, anything that can cause a noise from 6/7am until 7/8pm. The hotel does nothing to address this issue with the residents who live across the street who are impacted by this almost daily occurrence. They do try to accommodate their guests by booking them on the other side of the hotel. Their refusal to negotiate with the union is having a impact on the surrounding community. I encourage you to book other accommodations nearby and avoid this W at all costs.

Hello fellow travelers, I wanted to share my recent experience a the W Hotel in Los Angeles. My wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a little getaway, and I must say, this hotel did not dissapoint. However there were a couple of things that kept it from being a perfect stay. The check in process was smooth and efficient. The stafff at the front desk as friendly and accomodating, making us feel right at home. Our room was spacious and well-apointed, with comfortable king-sized bed and a sleek, modern design. The view of the city from out room was breathtaking - a real treat for a couple of folks from the Midwest! The amenities at the W Hotel were top-notch. The pool area was fantastic, with plenty of lounge chairs to relac in. We also appreciated the well-equiped fitness center which allowed us to keep up with our daily workouts. My wife enjoyed the experience. Now lets talk about the location. The W Hotel is situated in the heart of Los Angeles, which made it easy for us to explore the city. We were within walking distance of several popular attractions, and we found the hotels proximity to public transport quite convenient. However, I must not that the price of our stay was a bit steep especially when you factor in the additional charges for things like parking and Wi-Fi. For us midwesterners it was a bit of a shock to see how quickly these extra costs added up. Another minor issue we encountered was the noise level in the common areas. While our room was quiet and peaceful, the hotels lobby and pool area could get quite loud at times, which made it difficult to carry on a conversation. I understand that this is a popular hotel with lively atmosphere, but its something to consider if youre looking for a more tranquil experience. In summary, our stay at the W Hotel in Los Angeles was a solid 4 out of 5. The accomodations, amenities, and location were all top-notch, but the high price and occasioanl noise level kept it from being a perfect experience. If youre looking for a luxurious stay in the heart of the city, the W Hotel is a great option - just be prepared to pay a premium for the experience. Safe travels!

Great stay. Got upgraded to a suite without even asking for it. Room was spacious and swanky. Impressive lobby. Modern decor. Friendly front desk. Speedy valet. Great location, right on Hollywood Blvd.

Remodel under way but they were doing their best to make it work. Room was super clean and stocked. Top side bar area with wonderful views. Bar tender was great. Did not eat there and returned too late to try the pool. Was a really nice place to stay close to LA attractions.

Excellent customer service from the moment we arrived at the valet. We were greeted by someone who helped us with our bags. We were also greeted by someone who offered us water. The check in area is on the 12th floor with magical views. The pool was our favorite part of the experience. The king suite on the 10th floor was outstanding and spacious. Breakfast on the roof was relaxing. If there is a W around we wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's an end to end experience. Keep up the kindness and excellent service. The ambiance is on point.

Pricey Parking and Resort Fee Overshadow Experience My stay at the W Hollywood was marred by the steep $70+ daily parking fee and unexpected $29 resort fee charged before we even got to our room. These excessive charges significantly impacted the overall value of the stay, and because of this I would seek out a different hotel next time. While the hotel itself had its merits, the hidden costs left me with a sense of disappointment and made it difficult to fully enjoy my time there.

This was our first trip to LA and we wanted to stay someplace central. We knew what areas we wanted to experience and Hollywood seemed a central spot. Not knowing the area we chose W. We are so happy we did. We were able to walk to so many places and restaurants. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we were made to feel welcome. The staff is friendly and attentive. The Sky Terrace restaurant was amazing. The views! You can choose to eat inside or outside. We chose outside every time. For lunch we had their burger and fries. Excellent burger! We ate breakfast every morning there. It was a buffet and had a great offering of eggs, sausages, bacon, salmon, bagels, potatoes, pancakes, etc. The rooms were clean and spacious. The window bed is a very nice inclusion. The beds were very comfortable. We didn't have one issue during our stay and would recommend. I

Hotel is under renovation. Still the most expensive, even though the fitness center is closed, restaurant is limited, and the atmosphere is dark. However the location is great.

Had a fantastic stay at the W Hollywood. We got early check in i had membership Silver. Also got late checkout 1pm not bad. The 2 bed rooms was very comfortable. The room was nice and had a very elegant feel to it. The front desk and all staff we encountered was excellent. We were charge some $29 destination fee daily and were forced to use an option we opted for drinks at the bar daily. Which was good and that lounge was excellent. Really liked everything about the hotel and lives up to the name W. For our needs which was basic all expectations were met. Enjoyed the pool and nice gym. Had a wonderful stay. Would stay again if given the option, Thank-You A+++

This is definitely not worth the price and not what I expect from a W Hotel. The room was okay - kind of dark. And they had old torn up furniture (see pictures). But my main issue was the service. When I arrived, there were two lanes for valet. I sat in my lane waiting as they took 5 other cars that came in after me, so I switched lanes and had to stand outside of my car to get someone to take my car. Also, their check in is later than most hotels - it's at 4pm. I had requested a mobile check in hours in advance but I arrived around 4:15 and still hadn't been checked in so I waited in line at the front desk. When I was helped, my room was not ready. I had to wait an hour to get my key after I checked in and didn't even offer a free drink for the inconvenience... not even a water bottle while I waited! This happened to everyone I saw arriving around me. I think there were 6 or so other groups in the same boat. They called me to let me know my room was finally ready but I had to wait in line again behind 12 people so it took forever to get in my room. I wasn't offered anything for the inconvenience and imagine if I were to check out late, I would be charged extra. Now, im going to get ahead of their response, if they post one. Management is going to say they're short staffed because of the labor shortage, which is why I faced these issues. But I'll stop them right here. Either the hotel is trying to get by on less staff so they don't have to pay more employees and can pad their pocket, or they pay too low for people to want to work there so they can't hire enough staff, also to pad their margins. Either way, the W can fix this. Pay people a living wage in LA and staff accordingly , since the W Hotel in Hollywood clearly charges guest enough for it, and you'd save your guests from this headache. You'll also get to keep your current staff. I felt bad for the limited staff you did have so I hope you give them a raise too - you'll lose them if they constantly have to deal with being overworked and if they have to deal with unhappy guests complaining because you won't pay right or staff appropriately.
