Well, I done gone and did it! I enjoyed my first Ramen today at age 75. No, really
Here at Wabi on Eighth Street. No one told me it would require a technical climb to get up to the restaurant. LOL. But I made it and without oxygen! : ). (PS... thats a reference not to my health condition but to the oxygen mountain climbers use like on Everest. It's supposed to be funny Fail? : )
A very nice venue and vibe and an absolutely awesome server today in Ashley. She is the greatest. Knowledgable, helpful, kind, effecient and very gracious.
As with Pho, Ramen is not going to be something that I crave. But like Pho I enjoyed it, as well as the dining experience at Wabi.
We ordered the goyza; and also the negima, okra and bacon, and beef tenderloin yakitori along with two bottles of Snow Maiden Nigori Sake for starters. And the Spicy Miso Ramen. All to share.
We loved the goyza and three yakitorkis though we would have liked to have seen a little more flavor on the tenderloin.
We survived the Spicy Miso Ramen. Hahaha. When I tell you this dish is hot please know that I am being reserved. I have never experienced heat like this in the back of my throat. At first spoonful it made us both cough... and cough and cough. I loved it! LOL. Anne not so much. But when enjoyed in modest sips the broth is quite flavorful and enjoyable. I really like ramen noodles!
The portions are generous and very reasonably priced, at least at
at lunch. I have not compared the dinner menu.
If you're a ramen fan this should surely be on your list.
