I have been coming to this establishment for approximately 14 years and have followed it through different locations. While the food has always been fairly mediocre, I continued to return because of the location and the nostalgia the restaurant once held for me. I also believe strongly in supporting local businesses, which is why I have brought many people here over the years for work gatherings, family dinners, anniversaries, birthdays, and other celebrations.
Unfortunately, my most recent experience revealed a serious lack of integrity from management that I cannot overlook.
While dining here, my $3,000 handbag was taken from the restaurant. What was even more disappointing than the incident itself was the complete lack of concern or assistance from management. They appeared entirely uninterested in helping resolve the situation. They refused to review camera footage and made no effort to investigate what happened, despite the fact that the theft occurred while I was actively patronizing their establishment.
When something like this happens in a business, the bare minimum expectation is that management will show concern and attempt to help their guest. Instead, the response was dismissive and indifferent.
Los Angeles is widely regarded as one of the best sushi cities in the world outside of Japan. With so many incredible sushi restaurants in the area that value both quality and customer care, there is simply no reason to choose a place that lacks both culinary excellence and basic integrity.
Sadly, I can no longer recommend this restaurant — not for the food, and certainly not for the way they treat their patrons and not when something goes wrong on their watch.
