"If you’re planning on doing festive holiday stuff in NYC, you might see this Belgian waffle spot at a holiday market, like the big one in Bryant Park. It’s a great option for high-quality hot chocolate you can take on the go. On the side, you can get some waffles topped with things like chocolate fudge, strawberries, and dulce de leche." - will hartman, carina finn koeppicus, nikko duren, bryan kim

Absolutely delicious! My favorite here is the "WMD", it's a big waffle with bananas, strawberries, Belgian chocolate, and whipped cream. Yum! I also love their ice cream and sundaes, which goes well with their coffee or hot Belgian cocoa. There's plenty of seating and some outdoor seating.

After leaving nearby Central Park, I stopped here to use their restroom and get a fresh coffee. Both were great. The restroom was clean and well maintained & the coffee was hot and delicious. The staff here is friendly and the place is decorated for Halloween. There were some great food options here too, including waffles and ice cream. I am thankful for my stop here and the local that recommended it to me…

Google
This place is wonderful. Beautiful place with a great ambiance, a clean fresh restroom, and great seating. We were a little skeptical when they showed us how small a waffle we'd be getting for the price. But once all the toppings go on the small waffle is actually very filling. The maple syrup on the side is excellent as well. The staff are very friendly and lovely.

Google
This place was awesome. There’s lady taking our order was so friendly. She gave us several recommendations and helped accommodate us as we were running late to something. The food was delicious, I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. There’s not a ton of seating that I could see, but we got there early and there was only a couple people there.

Google
Our favorite waffle spot in the upper west side. Recommend sitting outside in front of the farmers market. Having a Belgian wife I have to recommend getting waffles with just powdered sugar in the true Belgian fashion

Google
Stopped here with the wife to get a quick coffee and Wafel while visiting nearby museum and market and was BLOWN AWAY by the friendly Belgian boy giving free samples who encouraged us to get more! What a tres authéntique experience with a friendly guy! Think his name was Jules but I called him Dingus like Dinges. Waffle was sweet and excellent try the hot cocoa. Thanks! Great experience. So friendly and tasty food. My wife loved the hot cocoa.

Google
The waffles aren't fresh, just reheated, so they felt heavier than normal. The concept is super fun but for the price it's just not worth a return visit. Presentation is very clever but the restaurant itself had dirty tables that we had to clean and it was super slow - so the messiness just felt like poor service.

Google
Delicious food and chai tea, right beside the museum so you have enough energy for the huge walk you'll do if you visit it

Yelp
I just stopped by this cute little coffee and ice cream shop after a walk in the park. The place was well-kept and had a clean bathroom. The ice cream was fantastic and the coffee was pretty good. They had chargers available on the floor and walls, which was convenient for recharging devices. What stood out to me was that it was the first time in four days in New York that someone asked me how my weekend was going.

Yelp
The taste is ok. The waffles are pre-packaged. Save $30 and put some whip cream on a lidl waffle. It will taste the same.

Yelp
My frozen cocoa was good! They have public restrooms if you're a paying customer. The service was not the best, but everyone seemed to be happy in the restaurant :) the music was really loud - the bass was vibrating the floors. great location, easy to get to the natural museum of history. It was a nice & toasty escape.

Yelp
The perfect pick me up after a long day walking around the museum! We inhaled the strawberry shortcake waffle in no more than 30 seconds.

Yelp
Lovely shop in a spectacular area of NYC; Columbus Ave in 70's across from Museum of Natural History. Sundays there is the wonderful "Grand Bazaar" flea market with food stalls one block away, as well as a farmers market on Columbus Ave. I was very disappointed in quality of product but I would still encourage you to try it - tastes differ. What looks like a waffle is, to me, actually a large cookie. I have had waffles in my life and they are somewhat fluffy. These waffles are very dense, much more like a cookie. The vanilla ice cream did not taste like vanilla at all to me. This could be intentional, to complement the toppings. So I won't be back but do try it yourself. You be the judge.

Yelp
Everything was fine until we waited 30 minutes for one of their fast food menu items. And it was undercooked!! I didn't ask for money back, I didn't make a fuss. I just won't come back to location. Please train your staff about American service standards.

Yelp
Went to get my first W&D after years of not having one. I was excited to bring someone who has never had one before. You walk in and it smells amazing. I ordered the WMD-- and then sat down and waited. The pros: 1) smells amazing (the shop) 2) cute interior 3) the toppings were nice and fresh. Thick whipped cream. 4) close to AMNH The cons: 1) all the tables were sticky -- I chose the least sticky one, but it had powdered sugar all over it. Didn't love this. Maybe they're understaffed? The restaurant only had one other customer. There were two people working -- cashier and a waffle maker. 2) the waffle actually wasn't good -- the waffle was cold -- not room temperature-- and had that texture of old bread in the fridge. 3) it was 15 dollars plus tip for this one waffle -- that's crazy. I can get fried chicken and hot waffles with maple syrup for just a little more!!! 1 star for location 1 star for good food smells I would not recommend this place. I'm going to get a W&D off a food truck at some point and see if it tastes better. If the waffle is warm and has that yummy texture from my memory. This location will be a pass from me.

Yelp
I randomly walked into this place trying to find some breakfast and was delighted to hear they had gluten free waffles! I ordered the Maple Bourdon and Bacon and it was soooo good! Would definitely recommend! However, the cappuccino was not good - I think it may have come out of an instant machine like at a gas station. And it took over 10 min even though we were the only people in the store. Also - the bill was $24 for those 2 things, which seems a little pricey. Overall, I would still come back for the GF waffle.

Yelp
Extremely helpful with are order. Treated my elderly father with respect and made him a personal custom order coffee. He loved it and we also loved it. The waffles are great but the whipped cream is second to none

Patrick R.

Yelp
Topping of berries were MOLDY. The waffles aren't even fresh. They are reheated. For the price, this is a hard pass. Was curious about this chain since we've seen it around for so long with the trucks. Now we know. Never again.

Yelp
Best Waffles I have ever eaten in my life! So good! And the smell of the store lets you know what you're in for. The perfect ambiance with impeccable service! I seriously could not recommend this place more for your next sweet treat!

Yelp
Absolutely delicious!! BUT the hours on Yelp, Google, AND their website say they close at 9pm and that's not true - they close at 8pm. I learned that the hard way :/

Yelp
Great seating space and customer service. You walk in to order then you pick where ever you would like to seat if you dine in. A range of window seat or benches. After choosing you get to wait 2 or 3 minutes before your order is called. I ordered a WWD. I mentioned no bananas just strawberries and it was given just like I asked. Food was amazing. Would definitely recommend 10/10. I hope more stores would open in the upper west side and Washington Heights.

Yelp
The staff was so unfriendly and not helpful at all. When I walked in, I asked if there's wifi, she said yes. So I purchased a beverage so I can sit and use their wifi. Once I sat, guess what? wifi is not working, so I went to ask the same person, if the password is wrong, she said "oh wifi is not working today. There's no connection." Like, hello??? That means there's no wifi! why would you say there is when you already know it's not working today? Listen, the beverage that I bought, was almost 8$! and it wasn't even hot! and was too sweet. Tbh, I wouldn't have paid for that amount of money if I can't use the wifi. I wasn't desperate for beverage, but I needed to quickly use internet for work. It's not like I'm going to stay for the entire day! Listen, I live in this neighborhood, I was happy the store opened here, I come here a lot for the waffles, now, not anymore. Thanks for ruining it! Appreciate is so much.

Yelp
Friendly service. Had the WMD (waffle, whipped cream, banana, and strawberry) & sat outside. Best waffle ever

Yelp
Ever since its humble start as a food truck roaming around NYC, offering up authentic Belgian 'wafels' (and lieges) for people who always relates waffles to the "Eggos" brand, this now franchise business is expanding to cities across the states, quipped with accolades in the belt. But what sets W&D even more special is their dinges, basically their topping spreads which makes the a wafel eperience extra special. Spekuloos is their most popular spread, a paste form of a traditional spiced Belgian cookie. Almost like the possibility of having a Christmas treat all year round. caramelly and yes very sweet. Then you've got your chocolate fudge because that's just a given for any type of desserts. Top it all off with some whipped cream and it's a meal in itself. W&D isn't a sometimes I could frequent a lot (waistline be damned), but as an occasional treat and random impulse indulgence, it's a fun and affordable way to travel to Belgium without a plane ticket.

Yelp
a food cart staple, now a permanent cafe!! I'm so happy to see them growing, always a perfect sweet treat.
