Yelp
R and I came here for breakfast this morning at around 8:30 am. So far, this Waffle House location gets my award for "Worst Overall Customer Service." The employees who interacted with us seemed like they really didn't want to be bothered by any customers, which is a pity since customer service is a major part of their jobs.
The parking lot here provided more than enough spaces for customers. I honestly like the layout inside of this location because the Take Out area is separated from all of the other areas where customers dining in sit. Customer seating is at the tall counter, and in booths along the windows and the kitchen area.
This place needs to be cleaned much better. We went to a booth that was allegedly clean, but I had to wipe away all of the food pieces that were on the bench seat. We sat at the table for a few minutes while employees just looked at us and ignored us, even though there were maybe 7 total customers. Finally, a glum looking server came to our table and placed a couple of wet and dirty menus on the table and walked away after we told her we wanted glasses of water. While she was gone, I took the time to wipe our very wet table dry using a few napkins. When she came back with our glasses, she asked us, "Will this be on one check or two?" "Uh ... just one." We then ordered: Hash brown bowl with sausage, scrambled eggs and gravy for me, and hash brown bowl with bacon, over easy eggs and jalapeño for R. Didn't take too long for the food to be served - the cook was pretty quick and efficient. After placing our food on the table, our server then asked if we needed anything. Right after we said no, she immediately placed the check on the table, and left, never to be seen at our table again. No employees came to our table after that, even though we hadn't even started eating! Our food was as expected, although I didn't care for the gravy since it was too thin and lacked flavor. About 10 minutes later, I noticed an employee emptying the gravy from the warmer and replacing it with "fresh" gravy. Hmmm ... I was obviously given "old" gravy. That explains the watery gravy ...
After we finished our meal, I waited at the nearest register at the counter so that I could pay ... and waited while employees ignored me. One of the employees looked at me then went back to doing whatever she was doing under the counter without saying a word to me. After more moments of being ignored, that same employee walked past me and said, "Come to THIS register" which was the Take Out register. She had a condescending attitude, like she was doing me a favor. During the payment transaction, I tried using the credit card contactless function on the point-of-sale (it had what looks like a sideways wifi icon on it), and it didn't work. The employee taking my payment told me, "Well, it works a lot better if you push your card into the machine!" Hey, how was I supposed to know that your machine won't take contactless transactions?
I'll pass on coming back to this location. Customers aren't appreciated.
